As revealed a few weeks back, Street Fighter 6 just got a bigger roster, with 19th character Rashid being added via DLC.

Available on all formats, you can grab Rashid via the year 1 character pass, by having the Deluxe Edition of Street Fighter 6, or the Ultimate Edition, or just by using 350 fighter coins to unlock him, which will include his outfit 1, and colours 1 & 2. If you’d rather not try him via those methods, you can also use an hour long rental fighter ticket, which you can get via the in-game fighting pass.

Rasid will be eligible for competition use at Evo 2023 (August 4th-6th), as well, so expect to see him in action there. If you do unlock him, as well as the usual ways of playing as a fighter, he’s also going to be part of the World Tour campaign where you can get his moveset. You’ll need to have completed the World Tour mode to access the new missions that have been added “featuring the Mike Haggar Memorial Stadium Tournament and Suval’hal Arena”.

Here’s a list of some of his moves:

 • Arabian Cyclone: A new special move that performs a spinning kick and conjures up a whirlwind; can be used as a standalone blow, or transitioned into Rolling Assault or Wing Stroke
 • Arabian Skyhigh: A new double jump move that keeps opponents guessing on where Rashid will land from the air
 • Super Rashid Kick: Level 1 Super Art that unloads a devastating kick while soaring forward and up through the air
 • Ysaar: Previously Rashid’s V-Trigger move in Street Fighter™ V, this Level 2 Super Art summons a slow-moving whirlwind projectile that can be used to pressure opponents
 • Altair: Rashid’s Level 3 Super Art calls forth a tempest that lifts opponents before he rains down on them with a monsoon of powerful blows

Street Fighter 6 is out now for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC.

Radiant Tale review https://www.godisageek.com/reviews/radiant-tale-review/ Mon, 24 Jul 2023 09:12:12 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?post_type=it_reviews&p=281325 Step right up hunk lovers!

The post Radiant Tale review appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
What I love most about Otome games is how varied they are. You’d think that once you’d played one dating sim with a cast of hunks to choose from you’d have seen all the appeal this genre has to offer, but there are so many creative settings where you can find love. From Feudal Japan to drama school, I’ve been on dates in all sorts of wacky and wonderful scenarios. Radiant Tale caught my attention immediately with a setting that is near and dear to my heart, the circus.

In the fantasy world of Escholtia, a tragedy has happened. The crown prince has fallen into a mysterious slumber, and no healing spells or medicine has been able to cure him. Magic flowers called Chloris that bloom when people are happy will apparently do the trick though, and under the orders of the king a group of traveling performers called CIRCUS have been assigned to travel the land and spread joy to help heal the prince.

Our protagonist Tifalia doesn’t have any special skills to help with this mission, she’s just a humble barmaid at her aunt’s tavern in the capital city. She’s always dreamt of life outside the walls of this urban locale, but knows her family would struggle without her. Well when one of the performers falls on her from the sky it sets into motion a chain of events that’ll change her humdrum existence forever.

Radiant Tale review

As you can probably imagine, the circus is a place with a rather diverse cast of characters. There’s the fabulous ringmaster, the fearsome warrior and the man who can transform into a dragon at will. Yes the world of Radiant Tales contains creatures who can switch between various animals and humans at will, which as you can imagine goes down a treat in the big top. Between this and the characters who can cast magic, a bit of juggling just isn’t going to cut it around these parts.

One aspect of Radiant Tale that really impressed me was the journey that you and the other characters go on. As this merry band of misfits travels on their royal quest, they’ll visit all the major cities of the continent from the dangerous city of gladiators where only the strong survive to the beautiful city on the water famed for its artistic spirit. In each location you’ll have to figure out what makes the people tick, and tailor your show accordingly. This loop of learning about the city (and often one or two of your characters who have history in the location of the day) is really engaging, and when the show starts and the gang succeed in blooming more flowers it’s hard not to feel happy for them.

At its core Radiant Tale is a pretty straightforward dating sim, with a handful of characters to romance. To get close to one of the talented lads you’ll need to spend time with them, which generally involves selecting them at one of the moments in the story where you’re free to explore a city with a partner. Then you’ll have a bit of time together promoting the circus or learning about the locals, during which you’ll be presented with a couple of conversation options. Picking the one that resonates most with your current love interest will help you grow closer to them, and if you do this enough you’ll end up happily ever after together. It’s a simple way to make the game a little more interactive, but don’t expect anything more in depth than that.

A screenshot of Radiant Tale

The love interests are all delightful though, and have surprisingly deep backstories that I really connected with. On my first playthrough I fell for the beautiful blue haired boy with a heart of gold, who it didn’t take long to discover was hiding a few shocking secrets. I wasn’t disappointed romancing any of the cast, and each playthrough just made me love the ragtag performing troupe even more as I got to know them better.

Once you’ve completed your first playthrough you’ll unlock the ability to fast forward scenes you’ve seen before (which is really handy) and can blitz through to see what happens when you fall in love with someone else. The first playthrough took me around ten hours to complete already, so if you start aiming to see all the endings you’ll get plenty of bang for your buck.

Radiant Tale is one of the most charming Otome games I’ve ever played, with a wonderful cast of characters and a colourful setting that couldn’t appeal to me more. If you’re not into text heavy visual novels that don’t expect much from the player then it likely won’t change your opinion of the genre, but the rest of us will be too busy smooching the clown to care.

Doom & Destiny Worlds review https://www.godisageek.com/reviews/doom-destiny-worlds-review/ Mon, 24 Jul 2023 09:08:04 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?post_type=it_reviews&p=281034 Best of friends

The post Doom & Destiny Worlds review appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
Doom & Destiny Worlds feels like an amalgamation of ideas and styles from a multitude of titles like Minecraft, Zelda, and Stardew Valley. It’s a surprisingly deep explorative game with tons of crafting and adventuring to be had, and while the grinding can become frustrating, there’s plenty to do. It’s also a charming game about friendship, venturing into the realms of fantasy thanks to the four nerds’ love of all things tabletop. It might feel repetitive at times, at least as far as the combat goes, but there’s plenty of environments to explore and engage with.

While sat having a chilled out session of Dungeons & Dragons (or one of many available pen and paper games), the four main characters are teleported into a strange world. Waking up naked and alone, without a single tool or weapon at your disposal, you must find your friends and work out what the hell is going on. It doesn’t take long until your first job is to save a friend from the top of a tower, and the opening section provides you with the knowledge needed to play, thanks to a decent tutorial. After bumping into the physical embodiment of Destiny, you learn about three tyrants who must be defeated in order to return home.

There’s no audible dialogue, instead opting for conversational bubbles and the odd quip in text. The writing is fun and fundamental, and acts as a nice gap between the times you are out trying to gather enough resources for crafting. This is where Doom & Destiny Worlds feels laborious at times, as you’ll do a lot of grinding by breaking rocks, chopping trees down, and gathering materials for what you need. Certain elements of crafting and farming aren’t as well explained as they could be, and gathering so many blueprints can lead you feeling lost, especially in the early stages.

There’s a lot to get your head around, and with a messy inventory, it’s easy to get lost in there. Much of the learning is done on your own, and it would have been nice to have a little more guidance in how to craft items, or a clearer UI for how to build things. You can craft a whole manner of things from armour, weapons, and building blocks to traverse across the islands, and when you do begin to grasp these mechanics, Doom & Destiny Worlds can be fun. There’s just a lot to take in and a lot to manage, and with four characters all needing to be equipped with tools and such, it’s easy to forget where you are.

One thing I did like was how streamlined the combat is. While it can become repetitive, it’s easy to get to grips with. Each enemy has a health bar and an energy bar. The energy bar provides the ability to use certain skills, and while you and your foe has it, it needs to be broken down until the health can be depleted. Once the energy is removed, the health is the only thing keeping their hearts beating. it also acts as an extra level of defence against enemies, feeling just as much of a shield as a way to dish out certain spells and attacks.

Doom & Destiny is gorgeous. The pixel art allows the developers to get creative with the sheer amount of islands available, and I’m a sucker for this kind of art style. Heartbit Interactive has made a charming adventure, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with it. The music was wonderful as well, and provided the perfect soundtrack to my journey to find the tyrants and go home. It’s humour is great, and the relationship between the friends is relatable. As a DnD player myself, I appreciated how the nuances of the game were implemented into certain aspects of it.

It may become quite the chore to grind for resources or to craft a particular item, Doom & Destiny does reward you for your dedication. The art style and music is wonderful, and the world is vast and ripe for exploration. Combat is straightforward and often fun, although it can become repetitive when enemies keep rushing towards you. It won’t be for everyone, but the charming characters and opportunities to craft some cool equipment is present throughout.

Victrix Pro BFG Controller review https://www.godisageek.com/reviews/victrix-pro-bfg-controller-review/ Mon, 24 Jul 2023 09:03:51 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?post_type=it_reviews&p=281029 For the players

The post Victrix Pro BFG Controller review appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
The Victrix Pro BFG Controller for PlayStation 5 is the first officially licensed third-party controller for the console, and it’s also one of the best I’ve had the pleasure of using. It comes with extra buttons on the back of the controller that can be mapped to any of the inputs, removeable modules for specific genres and layouts like fighting games, adjustable pressure points for the triggers, and more. These features go a long way to customise exactly how you play across a multitude of titles, and it has a reliable battery life to boot.

One of the controllers coolest features is the ability to unscrew the sticks and buttons on the front to replace for a module that has the R1 and R2 buttons next to the X, Square, Triangle, and Circle buttons. For fighting fans, playing Street Fighter 6 with these in play makes a world of difference, allowing for much smoother and speedier combos to be inputted. There’s no lag whatsoever, and make for a fantastic gameplay experience when in a fight.

Victrix Pro BFG Controller review

Other spare parts that can be added are an alternative D-pad, and a taller analogue stick perfect for precision during FPS titles like Call of Duty, when you need a tighter aim. All of these changes can be done quickly thanks to the mini tool included. Whatever you need, and whatever style you prefer when playing, the Victrix Pro BFG Controller has you covered. While it feels a little light in your hands, it’s in no way a flimsy controller, and does everything you need in any given situation.

There’re so many customisation options that you can take advantage of, whether a casual gamer or someone that thrives in the esports scene. The Tournament Lock option gives players confidence that any buttons accidentally pressed like the options button won’t hit. I’m not one such player, but it’s a fantastic addition for those who are. There are also sliders in place that can fix the position of where the triggers are pressed, allowing the amount of pressure needed to press them has a wide range for players.

On the back of the controller, there are four customisable buttons that can be mapped to any standard inputs for an added layer of customisation, however, I didn’t tend to use them as I would press them accidentally at times. The grip on the handles feels good, and provides no-slip performance, and the general feel of it is great. It works well across PC and PlayStation 5, and for those who use a PlayStation 4, the Victrix Pro BFG works for them as well.

Victrix Pro BFG Controller review

It has the ability to play wireless as long as you insert the dongle into the console, and there’s a 3-metre long cable if you need to play wired. There’s no vibration or haptic feedback functionality, but it wasn’t an issue for me as I feel that’s still something developers are trying to get right, finding the balance between essential inclusion in a title and a novelty. It’s the customisation where it holds its own, and I’m more than impressed by what it offers.

The Victrix Pro BFG Controller is a fine addition to PlayStation, and has so many customisation options for a wide range of players and playstyles. The way it works with fighting titles is next level, and I never had any glitches or functionality issues. While the lack of vibration might put off casual gamers or PS5 fans, it’s all about how it feels to use, ergonomically designed to suit everyone, and the ease of use and set up make it one of the best third-party controllers on the market.

All long car journeys should start with a checklist. Tyre pressures? Check. Window washers filled? Check. Fresh oil? Check. Fruit Pastilles? Check. Taking much the same approach to the modern open-world racer, The Crew Motorfest ticks a whole lot of boxes in Ubisoft’s upcoming racer.

A day/night cycle, point to point cross-country races, custom avatars, genre-based music playlists, bumper to bumper street racing, online leaderboards, dynamic weather, shops full of clothes and parts and paints. Oh and not to forget a vast array of endlessly upgradable & customisable cars, bikes, planes, and boats for you to recklessly chuck around. This is a celebration of things that go fast, with all tastes being catered for.

Opening up jumping between various car types including F1 style open wheelers and sharp edged Lamborghinis to the sounds of Royal Blood and Nancy Sinatra, the cinematic sequence aims to give you a stylish, tantalizing taste of what’s to come. Following those first few moments, it’s impossible to ignore just how closely The Crew Motorfest follows the Forza Horizon formula, and that’s no bad thing in my books.

The Crew Motorfest

For those who have experience of Playground Games series, there’s a strong sense of the familiar, tinged with early 2000s nostalgia. With bright neon signage reflected in streets full of small puddles and the inclusion of nitrous oxide for an extra burst of speed, at times it feels a lot like older, classic Need for Speed titles. Throwing the backend of an Impreza sideways through tight 90 degree turns, you almost instantly feel at home. For those who have yet to experience this style of racer, get strapped in, because it’s going to be one hell of a ride.

Whether you prefer blasting down the open highway on a classic Harley Davidson, drifting tight mountain passes in a Honda NSX, or just soaking up the sights and sounds of modern Hawaii in a classic Aston Martin, there’s sure to be an option here to take your fancy. From tight city blocks to steep mountain climbs, vast muddy hillsides to open sandy beaches, this is an island imploring you to explore the vistas, even if it’s often at over 150mph.

Lush forests and volcanic rock formations fly by your windshield, offering a brief glimpse of paradise. With options for both graphical performance or fidelity, I chose to go with performance. Whilst easily steady at 60fps, there was no obvious drop in graphical quality throughout, with only one instance of texture pop-in during my time with the closed beta.

The Crew Motorfest

Including the now obligatory rewind feature, allowing you to rewind up to fifteen seconds before you smashed into that billboard and try the corner again, this game welcomes both seasoned racers and newcomers alike. With myriad assist and accessibility options, as is standard with Ubisoft games nowadays, you can quickly and easily adapt the difficulty to your own personal preference. There’s a full suite of options allowing more experienced racers to tweak brake bias, gearing, and much more to their liking, showing further nuance to the car feel than I would have previously expected.

The AI racing itself feels very human, with mistakes being made by the CPU opponents, often providing you with an opportunity to dive up the inside. This isn’t just cars stuck to the racing line, Scalextric style. This is a more dynamic system and will keep you glancing to the rear, fending off the GTR bearing down on your tailpipe, right up to the finish line.

Much like Riders Republic before it, there’s a lot of character injected into the Hawaii’s locales & NPCs, but with seemingly much less cringe than that game. Racers take verbal pot shots at each other, praise your driving skills and admonish you for those slightly less than gentlemanly racing lines. Between your vehicle’s AI/GPS hybrid and radio chatter from your competitors, there’s never a quiet moment. Depending on your tolerance to a continuous stream of chit-chat, your mileage may vary as to whether this is a deal breaker or not.

Alongside the voice acting, the sounds here offer all of the guttural growl, high pitched whine and squealing rubber that you could ask for. With music and engine notes being filtered out as you launch off a cliffside to drop 50m to the dirt below, bass kicking in hard as wheels regain traction, I’m reminded of SSX. Here too is an eclectic mix of artists and genres, meaning that the perfect track to tear past your opponents is never more than a button press away.

Speaking of which, The Crew Motorfest offers excellent haptic feedback support on PlayStation 5, with every slip and slide of your chosen vehicle being fed back with subtle nuance. It’s easy to underestimate how much this cements you into the world, allowing every opportunity to correct your overzealous acceleration out of a corner.

After my few hours with The Crew Motorfest, I’ve gone from mild intrigue to eagerly awaiting release day. The Crew Motorfest promises hours of frantic fun, preferably with friends, that I can’t wait to get to grips with. Watch your back Forza. I hear trouble coming.

The Crew Motorfest is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X on September 11th, 2023.

Remnant 2 | How to beat Annihilation, the Final Boss https://www.godisageek.com/2023/07/remnant-2-how-to-beat-annihilation-the-final-boss/ Sun, 23 Jul 2023 22:00:48 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=281323 It all comes down to this

The post Remnant 2 | How to beat Annihilation, the Final Boss appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
The final boss of Remnant 2 is Annihilation, a two-phase fights that’s noticeably tougher than anything you will have faced before it. It’s so tough that we recommend facing it solo, as the increased HP in co-op makes it incredibly hard. You’ll face it in Root Earth after surviving a gauntlet of bosses and Root hounds, and it will take everything you have. Read on for our guide to beating Annihilation, the final boss of Remnant 2.

The boss arena – phase one

You’ll face Annihilation initially in a large space with a glowing red hole in the centre. There are glowing circles all around the floor which will explode if you stay in them too long – so don’t. Other than that, there’s nothing remarkable about the space – oh, and there’s absolutely no cover.

Annihilation’s attacks – phase one

The boss resembles a massive Root dragon and will spend the entirety of phase one airborne. He’s massive, sure, but also hard to target because he often swoops above you. He has a ton of different attacks, and learning the tells is essential. There are so many, we’ve listed them below:

Remnant 2 Annihilation final boss

Sword slam: Annihilation will bring his huge sowrd down on the ground, dealing massive damage. It’s quite easy to dodge, but it can catch you by surprise because he sometimes initiates it from som distance away, which is disorienting.

Sword drag: Holding the hilt two-handed, he’ll drag the sword through the ground towards you. It does massive damage and can stagger or knowck you down, so time it right and dodge it.

Energy pulse: Immediately after the sword drag he will always, without fail, trigger a red energy pulse, There’s a high-pitched noise accompanying it, so dodge when you hear it. You may not see it, as he’ll usually be behind you after the sword drag.

Sword thrust: Annihilation will raise his sword and plunge it into the ground, dealing huge AoE damage and knocking you down. He does this twice.

Root grab: He’ll either follow the sword thrust with a root grab or a barrage of energy rings. If it’s the root grab, you’ll know because he will twist his sword in the ground. Roots will burst up where you are and you must dodge at the precise moment, or else mash the prompted button to break free.

Double sword sweep: After the root grab he’ll follow up with a combo of one sweep, and then a second which always has a moment of hang, making it super hard to dodge.

Energy rings: Sometimes after the Sword thrust, he’ll conjure a load of glowing energy rings. They’ll pusle for a while, and you need to destroy them. After e few moments they’ll glow and fly towards you, which is enough to one-shot you even if you’re running 160 health and 115 armour.

Remnant 2 Annihilation final boss

You must learn to dodge these attacks if you want to survive phase one. There are few things you can do to counter him, except keep shooting between his attacks. On Survivor mode he isn’t a bullet sponge, but his damage output is no joke. Keep shooting his head, which is his weak spot. He doesn’t give you much time to heal or reload. Any items you can equip that speed up consumable use are essential, and bring ammo packs with you as it’s very hard to scoop up pickups during the fight.

The boss arena – phase two

Phase two of this fight is a nightmare. Not only are you locked in a much, much smaller space, but the layout and aesthetic are incredibly disorienting. There are constant flashing lights, and you can be afflicted with Malware, which disrupts your vision and restricts skill and mod use.

Annihilation’s attacks – phase two

As with phase one, he will begin with a sword slam. It will flash red where the sword is going, so dodge as soon as it does. You’ll have a split second to move after transitioning to the new arena. It will be followed by a sweep of his sword across the screen, preceeded by a high-pitched sword schwing to help you dodge.

When he raises up and the ground flashes yellow, dodge instantly, or you’ll be staggered or knocked down and take a massive hit of the Malware Blight. He usually follows with another sword sweep, and then a grid of red crosses will appear. Duck under this as it zooms towards you. Keep shooting his head, and he’ll begin to glitch.

Now when he attacks the arena will shift back to phase one, and his sword sweep will become the Double Sword Sweep. You must be quick to dodge here. From now through the fight, he will glitch back and forth between arenas, always right as he attacks, so learning the pattern is essential to survival. Eventually in the phase two arena he will raise up and conjure a load of glowing energy rings. You must destroy these before focusing on him, as they will explode and kill you instantly.

Now repeat the dodges and only fire when you’re clear to. Healing and reloading are incredibly risky in this fight, so try not to get caught mid-heal.

Remnant 2 Annihilation final boss

The boss arena – phase three

Phase three isn’t a full phase. Annihilation will come back to life for one last scare, and all you need to do is avoid the Root hounds and stay alive. He has no health bar here, so just ride it out until the cutscene kicks in.

Well done, you’ve beaten Annihilation, the final boss of Remnant 2. Collect your Broken Compass (for the Explorer Archetype), Forgotten Memory crafting material, and Scholar Trait card, which increases experience gained.

The post Remnant 2 | How to beat the Primogenitor appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
The Primogenitor in Remnant 2 is the boss of the Hatchery Dungeon found in The Phantom Wasteland of N’Erud. You may not encounter it in a standard campaign playthrough, although it may sometimes be thr route you need to take to collect one of the Seeker’s Keys and to reach the Timeless Horizon area. It’s a pretty tough fight, especially early on, but luckily we’ve taken it down. Read on for our guide to defeating the Primogenitor in Remnant 2.

The boss arena

The Primogenitor is found in the deepest area of the Hatchery, surrounded by alien space crabs. The boss itself is remarkably small compared to other bosses in Remnant 2, and is actually a glowing blue space crab smaller than the Handler’s dog. However, the arena is full of giant creatures resembling Tardigrades, which it will occasionally assume control of. This makes the whole arena incredibly dangerous, especially if you roll off the main platform and find yourself in the more confined space below. If you do, climb back up and reposition yourself near a wall.

Remnant 2 Primogenitor

The Primogenitor’s attacks

While in control of one of its huge flying hosts, the Primogenitor will spit balls of cursed matter at you, inflicting Curse Blight if you stand around too long. It can’t be harmed in this state, and all you’ll do is kill the host. This is necessary though, as it will force the Primogenitor out. Once loose, it will attack you directly by leaping at you like a facehugger from Aliens. If it latches on it will deal damage and knock you down.

It will also spawn an absolute ton of adds, all small versions of the space crabs you’ve been fighting to get here. They will jump on you, slowing you and inflicting Curse build-up. Roll to remove them. Ideally you need an automatic weapon with a decent sized mag, or a heavy melee weapon. Clear them out, keep moving, and focus on the boss’s host to force it out.

Remnant 2 Primogenitor

It’s a bug hunt

Once the Primogenitor is loose, focus all your fire on it. It’s very fast, very small, and so anything that sprays or deals AoE damage is handy. Fire works incredibly well against the Primogenitor and its adds. If you’re inflicted with Curse, remove it quickly as it will remove a chunk of your health bar.

The boss doesn’t have a great deal of health, but it’s an incredibly annoying fight nonetheless. Keep moving and swatting the bugs, and you’ll evenutally defeat it, earning a Trait point and the Cracked Shell crafting material.

There you go, now you know how to take down the Primogenitor in Remnant 2.

Whether you want to jump into a friend’s world or have them coop in yours, or you just want to enjoy Remnant 2 with randoms, you’ll need to figure out how the online works. And whilst Remnant 2’s online systems feel simpler and less clunky than other masocore titles, it still can be a little tricky to get to grips with initially.

So we’ve laid out everything you need to know to play Remnant 2 online.

Remnant 2 | How to play online

Solo Play first

Whether you like it or not, there is a story of sorts to Remnant 2, and as such there is a Prologue which acts as a tutorial for the game before the main portion of the game starts. During this section, you’ll learn the basics of the controls and gameplay, and there’s even a boss to test your training on.

You’ll need to keep playing through to your first foray around Ward 13, and then onto your adventure with Ford. Here he shows you a large Red Crystal and then disappears. After a couple more story beats, you’ll be whisked off to a world to begin your adventure. Once you’re in this new world you can begin to play online.

What to do next

The large Red Crystals are your conduits for online play. Interacting with them allows you yourself to join other players’ worlds, and they form the place where visiting players can join you too. Bear this in mind when considering online play.

To join others

To join other people, simply interact with a large Red Crystal and then you’ll be taken to the warp screen. On the bottom-right, you’ll see “Join Game”, so click that. The game will default to searching for games on your current difficulty setting. This is replicated by the skull system above the central wheel which you can amend, to cause another search to take place on that difficulty.

Around the screen will appear circular icons dictating players that are open to you joining them. Hovering over the circle will reveal who the player is, their power level and location as well as how many are in the party (maximum of three allowed).

Join a game, and you will be whisked to their world. When they next interact with the Big Red Crystal, you will appear in their world.

To have others join your world

Firstly for this, you need to make sure your online settings are adjusted accordingly. When you start up the game, and select your character, you’ll notice a bar above “Start Game” which indicates your online preference. It can be set to:

 • Offline: No one can join you
 • Friends Only: Only people on your friends list on that system may join your world
 • Public: Anyone can join you

For online play it cannot be set to “Offline”, so adjust it accordingly before starting the game. You could then have people requesting to join you at any point. If you wish to be more in control of the invitations (especially if you have someone specific you want to play with) then go to the menu, select System > Friends. From here you will see a list of your friends, and you can send them an invite to your world by clicking on the face icon.

If people then try to connect, you will get a notification and they will appear as pending in the top-left of your screen. To actually bring them into your world you need to interact with a Big Red Crystal, then they will be thrust into your world. They will be left waiting until you do this.

Note: If you are already touching a Big Red Crystal when someone joins your game, you will need to stop touching it and re-interact with it to trigger bringing the player into your world.

And that’s it, you now know how online works in Remnant 2.

The post Remnant 2 | How to unlock the Gunslinger Archetype appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
Remnant 2 is the kind of game that aims to cater to everyone’s playstyle, whether you want to push the DPS, heal your teammates, or just forge your path alone through its various post-apocalyptic worlds. Primarily, it does this with Archetypes, classes that decide your starting gear and form the backbone of any build. These character classes can completely change the way you play and prioritise certain items. One of the best in the game is the Gunslinger, a ranged DPS class that focuses on ammo reserves and increased rate of fire. Read on to find out how to unlock the Gunslinger Archetype in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 | How to find the Gunslinger Archetype

The quickest way to unlock the Gunslinger Archetype is to pre-order Remnant 2. However, while this gives access as a starting Archetype, you will still need to unlock it if you started with one of the others. And while it’s technically very easy, it does take a while.

Remnant 2 Gunslinger

First you’ll need to finish the first world in your campaign, which means killing the first world boss and being transported to the Labyrinth. Once you’ve done that, head back to Ward 13 and go talk to Mudtooth. You’ll find him playing chess with Reggie. Now you need to get him to tell stories – and we mean all of his stories. He has around a dozen, and you’ll need to keep asking him to tell more until he says he’s run out. This takes a long, long time, even if you skip through them. Eventually he’ll just run out.

Now you need to go and play. He wouldn’t tell us any more stories until we finished our third world boss, at which point he opened up again to tell a few more. It takes less time to exhaust him than before, and when he finishes he’ll give you a Rusty Cylinder for being a good listener. Take this up to Wallace with 1500 scrap and 10 Lumenite Crystals to receive the Iron Cylinder. Equip it to unlock the Gunslinger Archetype.

What is the Gunslinger Archetype?

As the name suggests, this Archetype is all about the shooting. It focuses on sustained DPS, team ammunition conservation, and quick, hard damage when necessary. It’s also ridiculously cool, the stylish High Noon Duds gear allowing you to live out all your Wild West fantasies. Well, most of them.

It’s incredibly effective when paired with the Hunter Archetype once you can slot two, as the combination of high damage, range, fire rate and extra ammo makes for a lethal cocktail.

Remnant 2 Gunslinger

The Gunslinger also has a set of intrinsic perks that boost their abilities, as follows:

Prime Perk: Loaded
When activating any Gunslinger skill, both weapons are instantly reloaded, and gain infinite ammo for 5 seconds.

Skill 1: Quick Draw
Pull out your trusty side piece and unload up to 6 Critical Shots from the hip. Each shot deals 85.5 base damage and double Stagger value.

Press to instantly fire towards all enemies in view within 25m. Upon release, rounds will be divided equally among targets. Hold and release to manually aim and fire one single powerful shot on release.

Skill 2: Sidewinder
Calls upon the power of the Desert Sidewinder snake to increase ADS movement speed and Draw/Swap speed by 50%. Cycling weapons will automatically reload incoming firearms. Lasts 12 seconds.

Skill 3: Bulletstorm
Unleashes the full power and speed of the Gunslinger. Increases Fire Rate by 20% and Reload Speed by 50% for all ranged weapons. Lasts 20 seconds.

Single shot weapons become fully automatic. Kills instantly reload the current weapon. Instead of becoming fully automatic, bows and crossbows gain 15% Critical Chance and 50% increased Projectile Speed.

Remnant 2 Gunslinger

The Gunslinger also comes with the Ammo Reserves Trait card that increases your ammo reserves, naturally.

Swift Shot: Gain 6% Fire Rate and 10% Ranged Damage. Increases with Gunslinger level.

Posse Up: Ammo pickups award 20% additional ammo per player with the bonus split evenly among teammates.

Quick Hands: Firearms gain 10% Reload Speed.

Sleight of Hand: Using a Relic reloads equipped Firearm.

And now you know how to unlock the Gunslinger Archetype in Remnant 2. Why not check out the rest of our Remnant 2 guides while you’re here, including how to unlock the Explorer Archetype. If you’re struggling with a particular boss, check out our Remnant 2 Boss Guides for help.

The post Remnant 2 | How to unlock the Engineer Archetype appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
One of Remnant 2’s biggest strength is its gameplay diversity. Not only are the Campaign and Adventure Modes procedurally generated each time you start – meaning different bosses, items, and biomes every time – but the character builds are massively diverse. This is in part thanks to the variety of Archetypes – character classes that completely change the way you play and prioritise certain items. One of the coolest in the game is the Engineer, a powerful offensive class. Read on to find out how to unlock the Engineer Archetype in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 | How to find the Engineer Archetype

The Engineer Archetype can be found in The Eon Vault area of N’Erud. You gain access to The Eon Vault while playing through the N’Erud story from the starting point of The Forgotten Prison. If you start N’Erud at the Seeker’s Rest starting point, you can find the Engineer in the Timeless Horizon are. Both are the second open areas of N’Erud’s respective stories.

Remnant 2 Engineer

While you can certainly find the Engineer without it, the Explorer Archetype makes it far easier thanks to the Treasure Finder perk. This highlights items of interest within a certain range with a purple glow. If you activate this ability while strafing the edge of the Eon Vault map, you will eventually spot a purple-outlined body within the poisonous fog.

We equipped everything we had that could reduce Blight build-up before venturing in, and it didn’t make much difference. You have to be very quick, fight through the initial bour of vomiting as your character enters the fog, and reach the body. You’ll find a full set of Engineer Armor on it, but that;s not what you need. Quickly grab the armour and then move past it to a small drop. A yellow pickup will be there – grab this as it’s the Alien Device you need. You will likely die, but that’s fine as long as you snag the pickup.

Now take it to Wallace and he’ll transform it into the Drzyr Caliper for 1500 scrap and 10 Lumenite Crystals.

Remnant 2 Engineer

What is the Engineer Archetype?

The Engineer in Remnant 2 is a damage-focused build that swaps out summoned companions for mounted turrets that they can remove and use as special Heavy Weapons. It’s ideal for soloists when combined with something like Alchemist, Medic, or Challenger as it offers massive offensive damage and high defence.

It’s perks focus on dishing out damage and survivability. We have listed its perks and their effects below:

Prime Perk: High Tech

Skill 1: Heavy Weapon: Vulcan
Press to deploy a Vulcan Cannon Turret which lasts until its ammo is exhausted. Turrets that can aim will prioritise targets the player aims at. Press Skill again to enable autonomous targeting.

Hold to carry the Heavy Weapon, If Engineer’s Prime Perk is available, this will Overclock the weapon. Double press to reclaim the weapon and return 75% of its remaining ammo.

Heavy Weapon ammo regenerates at a rate of 1.136% per second and a Heavy Weapon can only be deployed if at least 25% of ammo is available.

The more we delve into Remnant 2, the more secrets we discover. From armour sets and weapons to puzzles and even secret Archetypes, Gunfire Games’ 3rd-person adventure is heaving with things to find and conundrums to solve. Speaking of Archetypes, how would you like to know how to unlock the Alchemist Archetype in Remnant 2? Read on for the complete guide.

Remnant 2 | How to find the Alchemist Archetype

This one is not only well-hidden; it’s also bloody scary when it happens. In order to find the item you need to unlock the Alchemist class, you need to be in Morrow Parish, in Losomn: Dran. We’ve heard of it happening elsewhere, but in our experience Morrow Parish was where it occurred.

Remnant 2 Alchemist

Periodically, you’ll come across huge werewolf-like creatures fighting the Dran in the streets. When you damage them enough, they run away and disappear through small drain culverts with bent bars. If you go up to one of those, there’s a good chance one of the beasts will snatch you and pull you through. When it happens you’ll wake up on a pile of bones and the beast will be lurking nearby.

Kill it, and it will drop an item called a Mysterious Stone. Now take that to Wallace in Ward 13 and swap it for the Philosopher’s Stone. It’ll cost you 1500 scrap and 10 Lumenite Crystals.

What is the Alchemist Archetype?

Like the Medic, the Alchemist is designed for support and works great in a group or alongside a heavy damage Archetype like Hunter or Challenger. It’s skills focus on Vials, which can be smashed to impart buffs. It also comes with the Potency Trait Card that increases consumable duration.

Remnant 2 Alchemist

It has some intriguing effects on things like Concoctions, Relic use and other chemical-based mechanics. We’ve listed its skills and perks below:

Prime Perk: Spirited
Alchemist can have 1 additional Concotion buff active.

Skill 1: Vial: Stone Mist
Creates a mysterious cloud that lasts 10 seconds and applies Stoneskin. Press to slam vial on the ground at your feet, hold and release to throw at a target area.

Stoneskin reduces damage by 25%, reduces Stagger by 1, greatly increase Blight build-up decay and makes target immune to Status Effects. Lasts 15 seconds.

Skill 2: Vial: Frenzy Dust
Creates a mysterious vapour cloud that lasts 10 seconds and applies Frenzied. Press to slam vial on the ground at your feet, hold and release to throw at a target area.

Frenzied increases Fire Rate, Reload Speed, and Melee Speed by 20%, and movement speed by 15%. Lasts 15 seconds.

Skill 3: Vial: Elixir of Life
Creates a mysterious vapour cloud that lasts 10 seconds and applies Living Will. Press to slam vial on the ground at your feet, hold and release to throw at a target area.

Living Will grants 5 Health Regen per second, and protects against fatal damage. Can revive downed players. Lasts 20 seconds.

Remnant 2 Alchemist

Alchemist also has a set of intrinsic perks that boost their abilities, as follows:

Experimentalist: Using a Relic applies a random buff on the Alchemist for 30 seconds. Cannot be overriden.

Gold to Lead: Picking up scrap has a 15% chance to also award Ammo to the Alchemist.

Panacea: Curative effects apply to all allies within 15m, and grant an additional 15 Resistance.

Liquid Courage: Grants 2,5% increase to all damage. Increases with Alchemist Level.

The post Remnant 2 | How to beat The Nightweaver appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
The Nightweaver is the main world boss for the Losomn (Dran) area of Remnant 2, and can be found in The Tormented Asylum. It can be quite a tricky boss, because of how quicks he is and how powerful and deadly some of her attacks can be. Therefore you may need some tips on how to take her down effectively

Here at God is a Geek, we’ve beaten The Nightweaver, and here’s everything you need to know to beat it too in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 | How to beat The Nightweaver

Stage 1 Arena

This is a boss with two stages. The first stage takes place outside the Asylum with a similar layout to where you fought Ripsaw. As with that boss fight you’ll want to be aware of what’s behind you because the arena can be deceptively tight in places, and the last thing you want is to get trapped in the corner with The Nightweaver bearing down on you.

Attacks to watch out for

The Nightweaver is incredibly quick and can lunge at you from quite a distance away so, if she winds up for this, try and dodge away from it to avoid taking damage. She obviously has melee attacks too, so keeping your distance and shooting is the age-old tactic at this point and works well. She will also dive up high into the air and slam back down in a quick motion, so if you see this dodge away from her to avoid it.

Having said that, be prepared for some pain from a distance too. The Nightweaver can fire a round of homing crystals at you which are tricky to avoid unless you can time your dodge at the last second. She can also pause fire blue fireballs at you. Whilst these aren’t homing, like the crystals, they move quite quickly so will still require movement to dodge.

Arachnophobia

To make matters worse, The Nightweaver can also summon numerous blue spiders from her chest, that will run and hunt you down. It is best to try and deal with these quickly – melee attacks can work very well to take out a few in quick succession. Then, when the grunts are down you can divert your attention back to The Nightweaver proper.

Prepare for Stage 2

Once her health bar is depleted, she’ll fall to the ground, in a glowing pile. Heal up and ready yourself and then go and inspect the body. She will (unsurprisingly) not be dead, and will grab your character in a quick cutscene. You will be teleported to the second stage arena which is inside the Asylum this time. In many ways despite being smaller, this arena feels easier to navigate with fewer obstructions between you and Nightweaver.

Differences in Stage 2

The Nightweaver will now tend to crawl along the floor rather than fly about, and so will more often than not lung quickly at you which you’ll need to dodge. She will also look to pass through the walls of the Asylum into the smaller rooms. You can engage her in them, but it’s a lot safer to wait for her to return to the larger lobby area where you have more space. The choice is yours.

Her attacks from Stage 1 – most notably the homing crystals and the spiders appear in Stage 2, so be prepared for those, but for the most part, she’ll stick to relentless lunges.

Keep dodging her attacks, and pelting her with bullets, and she should go down. Congratulations, you’ve beaten The Nightweaver in Remnant 2

As you’re exploring Ward 13 in Remnant 2, you will come across a safe in Ford’s office upstairs. It requires a four-digit code combination to unlock. To find out the code you’ll need to investigate something unusual. And it’s not clear from the safe itself what you need to do.

However, if you follow these steps, you’ll have no trouble unlocking the Ward 13 safe in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 | How to unlock the Ward 13 safe

Step 1: Find the Safe

You’ll likely notice the safe behind you after you’ve spoken to Ford in your office for the first time. Sadly at this point we have no way of knowing the four-digit code, and so you’ll need to progress the story a bit until you can open it.

Step 2: Get the Flashlight

You need to keep progressing the story until you head out with Ford on your adventure out of Ward 13. This means talking to all the people he recommends you talk to before meeting him by the exit and heading through the big metal door.

As you progress down the tunnel, he will hand you a flashlight, which will handily light the way in dark places. But it actually has another purpose. One that we will need to open the safe in Ward 13.

Step 3: Inspect the Flashlight

Remnant 2 Ward 13 safe

Head into your Inventory and you’ll see that the Flashlight is actually a Quest item in your inventory. Whilst hovering over it, you’ll want to press the Inspect button. This allows you to rotate the item. Proceed to rotate the flashlight until you can see underneath it.

You should notice underneath the flashlight there is a four-digit code. You may have to rotate it a few times to get the code to appear upright, but the code you will see is 0415.

Step 4: Reach the Red Crystal

Unfortunately despite now identifying the code, you can’t use it yet as you’re locked into your story with Ford. Keep progressing it until you get transported to your first world courtesy of the Red Crystal.

You will now see your first Red Crystal in front of you. You can now warp back to Ward 13 at your leisure, and after a brief interaction, you’ll be able to explore it again as normal.

Step 5: Enter the Code

Remnant 2 Ward 13 safe

Now return to the Ward 13 safe in Ford’s office. You can now enter the 0415 into the safe and unlock it. It will open, and you can retrieve the Cargo Control Key.

Step 6: Use the Key

It’s all very well having found this new key, but where do you use it? To use it you actually need to head out to the Red Crystal, and then turn left. You should see in front of you a wire fence, with some large storage containers piled up behind it. Head on through the gap in the fence, and then follow the path in between the containers.

Eventually, you will reach a door that is locked. Luckily we have the key. Use your Cargo Control Key on the door to unlock it and head inside.

Step 7: Claim your Reward

Remnant 2 Ward 13 safe

Now it’s time to claim your proper reward for opening the safe. Head on over to the table on the left-hand side of the room, and pick up the item there. It is a brand-new handgun called the MP60-R which shoots like a submachine gun, giving you another loadout option to play around with.

Congratulations you have unlocked the Ward 13 safe in Remnant 2.

The post Remnant 2 | How to beat Barghest the Vile appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
Barghest the Vile is a mini-boss from the Losomn (Dran) area of Remnant 2, and can be found in Harvester’s Reach. It can be quite a tricky boss, because of how quick he is and how powerful and deadly some of his attacks can be. Therefore you may need some tips on how to take him down effectively

Here at God is a Geek, we’ve beaten Barghest the Vile, and here’s everything you need to know to beat it too in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 | How to beat Barghest the Vile

Keep your distance

Like Ripsaw, Barghest the Vile is actually an Aberration – that is a stronger version of a large enemy you can find frequently in the game – and this, as the name suggests is a stronger Barghest. These black cat-like creatures can move very quickly, so to give yourself a chance, try and keep some distance between it and you to allow yourself some breathing room.

Swiping Attacks

If Barghest the Vile does get close, you’ll need to be wary of its swipe attacks with its claws. They actually have a large range and are quick too, so dodge roll away as best you can to avoid the damage. Also be sure not to get pinned in a corner of the sewer, as this can be a recipe for disaster, quite quickly.

New tricks

Barghest the Vile can also shoot white fireballs in your general direction. Dodge these as best you can, and also be mindful that they will leave pools of white flame on the ground for a period of time which will cause a burn effect on you if you touch them. Be sure it has cleared before traversing near them.

Clear the arena

You’ll find a lot of the slug-type creatures nearby to this fight, and the electric variant can be particularly annoying in combination with Barghest the Vile. It’s best to either make sure the area is clear before entering the fight or do your best in some downtime with the boss itself to take down these slimy grunts. They can easily surround you and give you a tough time if you’re not careful.

Licking its wounds

The other trick that Barghest the Vile has is that it can heal a decent chunk of its health when it is close to death. It seems to do this only once, but be on the lookout for it. Don’t get too gung-ho thinking you’re close to winning the first time around, as you’ll be in for a shock.

However, before long Barghest the Vile should properly fall. As a reward, you’ll get Dria’s Anklet. This can be traded with the crying man near the beginning of the area. He’ll give you XXX. You’ll also get the Lithely Mutator from Barghest the Vile, and you can now carry on your Remnant 2 adventure.

]]>
The Abomination can be the first main boss in Remnant 2 if you roll the Seeker’s Rest start in N’Erud. You’ll find the seething mass in the Putrid Domain dungeon, but you may have come across smaller versions beforehand in the Phantom Wasteland or Abyssal Rift. It’s not a particularly tough boss, comparatively speaking, but it can be infuriating if you face it early before you have a decent arsenal.

The boss arena

You’ll fight the Abomination in a fairly enclosed area that’s several kinds of gross all at once. It squeezes its bulk through a sewer opening and immediately begins its assault. Because the arena is small, getting some distance can be tricky – especially when it starts spawning adds. There’s a central pillar that allows you some cover if you need to reload or heal.

The Abomination’s attacks

For the first half of its health bar, the Abomination is just a bully. It will roll at you with impressive speed, dealing massive damage. Up close it will perform a combo of three swipes followed by a ground slam that causes Curse build up. It will also occasional hjurl explosive canisters at you that you’ll need to avoid. Periodically, adds will spawn, which can be a pain if you’re solo. A Handler has an advantage here, because your dog can keep the adds busy while you focus on the boss.

In the back half of its health bar the Handler will start using psychic abilities to levitate, shield itself, and throw chunks of debris at you. It will also build up a huge Curse pulse that you can hide from behind the central pillar in the room.

Remnant 2 The Abomination

Break its shell

If you look closely, you’ll see that the Abomination is covered in huge metal plates. Shoot these off to uncover explosive canisters embedded in its flesh. Explode these to deal damage and expose pulsating purple weak points you can exploit. Popping the canisters will stagger it, exposing those weak points for a few seconds.

Use the environment!

Try to keep your distance from the Abomination where possible. Weapon Mods like Caltrops and Time Lapse work very well to slow it down. The central pillar in the room is your best friend, especially when the Abomination is airborne. Use it to heal, reload, and just to grab some cover when it starts vibrating and glowing purple.

You’ll also note explosive canisters lodged in the floor. Pop these at the right moment to damage the beast and knock it off-course if it’s mid-roll.

Stay mobile, keep damage consistent and watch your ammo, and you’ll take down the Abomination in Remnant 2 in no time. For beating it, you’ll recieve a Trait Point and a Mutated Growth crafting material.

The post Remnant 2 | How to beat Shrewd appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
Shrewd is a pretty tough Remnant 2 boss that you can stumble upon in the Expanding Glade in Yaesha. He’s an archer that does powerful ranged and melee attacks, spawns adds, and – worst of all – can infect you with Root Rot. But don’t worry, we’re here to tell you exactly how to beat Shrewd in Remnant 2.

The boss arena

Like many boss arenas in Remnant 2, Shrewd fights in a doughnut-shaped area with a central tree that you can use for cover. There are no fall points here, and if you stick close to the tree you should be able to avoid most of his ranged attacks.

Remnant 2 Shrewd

Shrewd’s attacks

Shrewd has two primary attacks: first, he’ll stand back on one of the three raised cliff-edges around the arena and hit you with arrows. They have a loud audio-cue when he fires, so use the tree for cover or roll to avoid. He’ll also shoot his arrows into the air, and when they land they’ll create AoE pools of Root Rot.

After a few volleys, he will teleport up close to you. When he does this, get ready to move fast. His melee attacks are swift and devastating. He’ll only hang around for a few combos, and then he will teleport back to a ledge. When he does this, eggs will burst from the ground and you only have a few seconds to destroy them before they spawn adds. Make sure to reload immediately after his melee phase and take the eggs out quickly.

Avoid Root Rot!

The biggest issue with the Shrewd fight is that he will infect you with Root Rot if he hits you multiple times. This is a horrible affliction that reduces your stamina bar and causes you to cough every 10 seconds, interrupting any action you’re performing, including evading or reloading.

Remnant 2 Shrewd

Cure it with Oilskin Balm, which you can buy from Reggie in Ward 13 only after you’ve found it in a random chest in Yaesha. Alternatively, Bedel the Vaunnt (the Root-infected Pan you meet when you enter The Forbidden Grove area) sells the Rotward ring for 500 scrap that prevents Root Rot build up.

Move fast, avoid the pools of Root Rot, and take out the eggs as quickly as possible. Shrewd himself is fairly easy to hit when he’s on one of the ledges, but avoid him when he comes close. The Time Lapse weapon mod doesn’t seem to have much effect on him, either, so you’re best off simply evading until he gets bored and buggers off.

And that’s how you beat Shrewd in Remnant 2. His defeat will reward you with a Trait Point and Soul Sliver crafting material.

The post Remnant 2 | How to beat Kaeula’s Shadow appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
Kaeula’s Shadow is a major boss fight in Remnant 2 that you won’t immediately know how to reach. You’ll find her in the Kaeula’s Rest dungeon in Yaesha. She’s a colossal Root-infected beast that can do serious damage and may take a few attempts – especially given how the fight starts. But worry not, for we have the guide to help you beat Kaeula’s Shadow in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 | How to reach Kaeula’s Shadow

When you enter the Kaeula’s Rest area you’ll soon come to a huge body of water. You can run in it, but some areas are very deep and will slow you down. Push through the area, and you’ll enter the labyrinthine pathways of the dungeon. Here you’ll face ranged enemies and hulking brutes who will hit from a distance and can infect you with Root Rot.

Remnant 2 Kaeula’s Shadow

Eventually you’ll reach a huge statue with a ring at its base called the Tear of Kaeula. Take it, and then take a deep breath. You’ll be immediately grabbed by a huge tentacle and pulled through the floor, into the area – the body of water you crossed earlier.

The boss arena

The arena is half the fight. Not only are you wading through water, there are occasional deep spots that will severely hamper your movement. There’s also no cover from the boss, so you will need to try to avoid her attacks with well-timed evades.

This is a tough fight, partly because you may not be at full strength when it begins. If you die, you’ll respawn at the area’s first crystal right outside the room.

Remnant 2 Kaeula’s Shadow

Kaeula’s Shadow attacks

Kaeula will attack with tentacle slams that deal damage and stagger you, or can knock you down under the water, slowing your recovery. She will occasionally burrow her tentacles, which will burst up below you. After a few minutes, she’ll dig down under the water, and spawn a bunch of tentacles with their own shared health bar. Take them out, avoiding their slam attacks. Be aware that it’s not easy to move in here.

When she resurfaces, Kaeula’s Shadow will be right on you. She will tentacle slam, and when you get some distance she’ll usually sweep her tentacle across the water, creating a wave that will knock you on your butt. Heal when you can, and keep targeting her head and chest with your attacks. When she dies, you’ll receive a Trait Point and the Twilight Dactylus crafting material.

Remnant 2 Kaeula’s Shadow

A gift that keeps on giving

You’ll also walk away with the Tear of Kaeula, a ring that grants you two extra Relic uses when equipped. This is essential early on, but it has more than one use. Continue playing and you’ll eventually reach the Far Woods, one of the areas where the Blood Moon can spawn to farm material for the Summoner Archetype.

You’ll eventually come upon a huge glowing tree. The spirit residing within, Meidra, is Kaeula’s sister. Not only does he give you a reward for answering her questions (we got the Barkskin Trait card for our answers), but she’ll also reward you with a powerful handgun if you give up the ring. Remember, if you don’t have the ring the next time you beat Kaeula’s Shadow, you will receive another copy of it.

So there you go: that’s how you beat Kaeula’s Shadow in Remnant 2.

]]>
During your Remnant 2 adventure, you can choose between a number of Archetypes to play as, and you can find extra Archetypes as you progress further into the game.

When you first begin the game, you will only have four Archetypes unlocked to choose from. These are Medic, Handler, Challenger, and Hunter.

However, you can unlock more as you play if you meet certain conditions or find certain items. We’ve listed the extra Archetypes we’ve found during our time with Remnant 2, so that you can unlock more Archetypes and tailor your playstyle with more options.

Note: Don’t forget, you can actually equip a second archetype on your character for extra skills and bonuses, so having more Archetypes unlocked, gives your more options to play around with.

For more information on how to unlock a second Archetype slot on your character – follow our guide here.

Remnant 2 | Where to find extra Archetypes

We’ve listed all the additional Archetypes that we’ve found in Remnant 2 below. Each has a separate guide that you can click on, as some of the steps you need to take are quite complicated, and need to be covered in detail to ensure you unlock them.

We’ve also provided some information about what these Archetypes are and how they differ from the standard Archetypes unlocked from the start. So you can get a feel for how they play as well as how to specifically unlock them. Take a look at the list of Archetypes below for more information.

Remnant 2 has more than its fair share of secrets, but some of the most sought-after items are the keepsakes that Wallace can turn into Engrams – which are in turn used to unlock secret Archetypes. These are whole-new game-changing class kits, all of which can make a massive difference to how you play. We already showed you how to unlock the Summoner Archetype, but what about how to unlock the Explorer Archetype in Remnant 2? Read on to find out.

Remnant 2 | How to find the Explorer Archetype

Unfortunately, this is both very straightforward and very tough. To unlock Explorer, you need the Broken Compass item – and to get that you need to complete Remnant 2’s campaign once. That means beating the incredibly tough final boss and rolling a new campaign or Adventure.

When you do, you’ll find the Broken Compass in your inventory. Take it to Wallace with 1500 scrap and 10 Lumenite Crystals, and he’ll forge the Golden Compass engram for you. Simply equip it to unlock the Explorer Archetype in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 Explorer

What is the Explorer Archetype?

The Explorer is a heavily utility-based Archetype that works best when combined with others. Starting out as an Explorer (which you can do if you roll a new character after unlocking it) would be particularly tough. It focuses on movement speed and item gathering, rather than straight DPS or survivability.

While it doesn’t offer the insane group support of the Medic or Hunter, and would certainly struggle alone more than, say, the Handler or Summoner, the Explorer is, unsurprisingly, built for exploration. The abilities are as follows:

Prime Perk: Lucky
Grants a 10% chance to spawn additional items and rarer drops when defeating powerful enemies.

Skill 1: Planeswalker
Increases movement speed by 20% and reduces Stamina cost for allies by 80%. Lasts 30 seconds.

Skill 2: Gold Digger
Dig into the ground to spring a fountain that grants a random buff. Fountains last 45 seconds and their buff lasts 15 seconds.

Fountains can grant either: 10% increase to all damage; 15% damage reduction; 1.5 Health Regen per second; or Haste.

Skill 3: Fortune Hunter
Increases the Explorer’s Treasure Sense to reveal special items within 40m for all allies. Lasts 60 seconds.

Remnant 2 Explorer

Explorer also has intrinsic Archetype perks that boost similar abilities, as below:

Scavenger: Pickups increase all damage dealt by 2% per stack for 15 seconds. Additional stacks increase duration up to 60 seconds. Stacks 5 times.

Metal Detector: Increase ammo, currency, and metal drop rate chance for entire party by 10%.

Prospector: Relic fragment discoveries for the Explorer drop at a higher quality.

Self Discovery: Using a Relic instantly fills Scavenger Stacks and prevents stack decay for 15 seconds.

There you go, now you know how to unlock the Explorer Archetype in Remnant 2 and what it does. The post Remnant 2 | How to unlock the Losomn Asylum safe appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
As you’re exploring the Losomn (Dran) Asylum in Remnant 2, you will come across a safe in the office on the ground floor. It requires a four-digit code combination to unlock. To find out the code you’ll need to explore the place and complete some additional tasks. And it’s not clear from the safe itself what you need to do.

However, if you follow these steps, you’ll have no trouble unlocking the Losomn Asylum safe in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 | How to unlock the Losomn Asylum safe

Step 1: Find the First Doll

The first part of this puzzle revolves around finding three Stone-Carved Dolls in the Sanitorium. Quest items such as these show up as red items on the floor so they’re easy to locate. You should find the first one on the ground floor of the Sanitorium in the same room as a friendly patient who mentions a nurse who has been locked away in the basement against her will. We will need to remember that.

Step 2: Find the Nurse in the basement

As we progress through the Asylum, we will find ourselves in the basement. Once you have cleared out all the enemies, there is a locked door towards the end of the corridor on the left that you can interact with. This is the nurse who has been involuntarily locked away by the other staff members. Keep talking to her to find out that the reason for her being locked away is her visions of Nightweaver. At this point, you can give her the Stone-Carved Doll you have already found. Do this, and she will be pleased.

Step 3: Find the Second Doll

Exit out of the far side of the basement, and you should find yourself outside the front of the Asylum. Ignore the shed in the corner, with noises coming from it, and instead, from the shed, head right into the other corner. You should see a red item here, and it is another Stone-Carved Doll. Go and give this to the trapped nurse, to make her happier and progress the dialogue with her further. You will then need to return back to the shed. Interact with it and prepare for a boss fight.

Step 4: Defeat Ripsaw

Remnant 2 Ripsaw

Before tackling Ripsaw, it is worth checking out our Ripsaw Boss Guide. This will give you all the tips and tricks you need to know to survive this fight and take down this dangerous enemy. Once Ripsaw is dead, search the shed that he came from to pick up the Asylum Third Floor Key.

Step 5: Find the Third Doll on the Third Floor

With your new key, you’ll be able to enter the top floor of the Asylum. Head through the front door and then up the stairs and around to your right. Go through the door, and then turn right to head through another door and head up the stairs. The door in front of you is locked but can be unlocked with your Asylum Third Floor Key. Beware of flying Fae enemies as you enter this new area. Head down the corridor and enter the room, and there will be more flying enemies. Work your way around the hole in the floor and into the next room to your right. There will be a lot of flying Fae enemies to take out here that will appear from numerous directions through windows. Explore the whole room to be sure all the enemies are taken care of.

When the room is cleared, head around to the far corner from where you entered. And behind a screen, by a chair is the final Stone-Carved Doll. As you backtrack through the previous room, you can also jump out of an open window onto a balcony, to pick up the Prison Cell Key.

Step 6: Return to the Nurse

Now head back to the basement.

Important: Do not choose the option to Unlock the door. Doing so and opening it will kill the nurse. You want to talk to her and give her the final Stone-Carved Doll first. Giving her the final doll will cause her to recite a song for you. It goes:

Oh little Corny Barrows slept / and dreamed he saw a sight / of teeth and trails and darkened veils / and unforgiving light.

Two shing copper teeth removed from // nine discarded combs, and // seven yellowed leaves excised from // one forgotten tome.

It might seem a pointless song, but actually, this is the solution to your safe. The numbers “two”, “nine”, “seven” and “one” just so happens to be the safe code you need.

Note: At this point, having noted the code, it is fine to unlock the door and open it and pick up the Nightweaver Stone Doll which you can use later.

Step 7: Unlock the Safe

Remnant 2 Losomn Asylum safe

Now with the code in hand, you can head back to the safe. Enter the code 2971 into the safe to unlock it. Inside is a brand-new handgun the Double Barrel which fires like a powerful magnum weapon, giving you another loadout option to play around with.

Congratulations you have unlocked the Losmmn Asylum safe in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 has its fair share of boss encounters and they can be tricky to overcome. As such you may be in need of a helping hand to help you blast through and beat these tricky fights.

So to help you out, we’ve pulled together guides for every boss we’ve beaten in Remnant 2, so that you can best these dangerous foes with ease. Read on to find the solutions to beating each boss in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 | A note on progression

Remnant 2 isn’t a linear experience at all. After the initial prologue of the game which serves as a tutorial, you will be transported as part of the story to one of several worlds that you can explore. This means you could experience worlds – and therefore – bosses in a unique order from another player. As such we have grouped our boss guides in Remnant 2 by world, so that you can better find the boss you need, and quickly find the solution.

The other point to note is that you may not actually find all the bosses listed in your playthrough, as even in the same world, the layouts are procedurally generated and that means some bosses may not actually appear for you. As such, we have listed all the bosses we have located so far, and how we have beaten them. So don’t worry if you see a boss in your world that you don’t see. You may not have done anything wrong, and it may mean you just need to replay the game to see the bosses listed below.

Ripsaw is a min-boss from the Losomn (Dran) area of Remnant 2, and can be found in Morrow’s Parish Sanitorium. He can be quite a tricky boss, because of how quick he is and how powerful and deadly some of his attacks can be. Therefore you may need some tips on how to take him down effectively

Here at God is a Geek, we’ve beaten Ripsaw, and here’s everything you need to know to beat her too in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 | How to beat Ripsaw

Think fast

Likely the first thing you’ll have to deal with when tackling Ripsaw is a quick time event (QTE) that happens almost at the start of the fight. Ripsaw lunges his chainsaw weapons at you and pins you to the ground. Mash the on-screen button prompt (X on an Xbox controller) until the bar is full to escape. Failure to do so leads to a rather gruesome death, and a need to restart the fight after making your way there again from the checkpoint.

Familiar Foe

The good news is, the is unlikely to be the first time you’ve faced this type of enemy before. Ripsaw in boss-form is by and large a souped-up version of the same enemy you’ve likely taken down a few times on your travels already up to this point. His main way of attack is melee attacks with his bladed saw. Keeping your distance and dodging away from him is a good tactic.

New tricks

Ripsaw does however have a couple of new tricks to contend with compared to the enemies you’ve fought before. He can now actually shoot white fireballs from his gun in your general direction. Dodge these as best you can, and also be mindful they will leave pools of white flame on the ground for a period of time which will cause the burn effect on you if you touch it. be sure it is cleared before traversing near them.

Learn the arena

The outside area where you fight might seem quite open, but there are large square areas which are blocked off, and so actually this arena has quite a few tight corridors in reality. And whilst visibility is still good, these narrow channels are perfect for a charge move from Ripsaw which you will want to avoid at all costs. Be aware of your evrinoment. You don’t want to get stuck on some scenery and meet a grisly end.

Wait for your opening

As with he regular enemy, Ripsaw can be stunned with constant gunfire but it seems to happen less frequently here. Your best bet for sustained attacks is to wait until he holds his blade above his head and rams it into the ground. Dodge to avoid it and then let rip with your most powerful weapon. Alternatively wait until he has to “re-rev” up the chainsaw and pummel him then too.

Hopefully, before long Ripsaw should fall. As a reward you’ll get a Trait Point and the Striker Mutator. Also, don’t forget to return to the shed that Ripsaw burst out of for a very handy Simulacrum and the Asylum Third Floor Key.

]]>
Gwendil: The Unburnt is a boss from the Losomn (Dran) area of Remnant 2, and can be found in Cotton’s Kiln. She can be quite a tricky boss, due to the nature of the arena, her attacks and your limited window to actually damage her. As such you may find yourself in need of a tip or two to best her.

Here at God is a Geek, we’ve beaten Gwendil: The Unburnt, and here’s everything you need to know to beat her too in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 | How to beat Gwendil: The Unburnt

The boss arena

The first thing you need to get your head around for this boss is the arena, how to navigate it, and what it means. Gwendil, and some of her friends, stand atop some raised walls, which frustratingly you cannot access. Your option instead is to run around the edge of these buildings and shoot Gwendil from afar when the angle is right. You can also run through the middle of the arena too, but this does leave you quite open to attacks from multiple sides, so it is advised to stick to the edges.

Gwendil’s attacks

The attacks of Gwendil are actually fairly simple. She will throw explosive bombs at you, with blistering accuracy, sometimes almost frustratingly good accuracy. These bombs explode and cause a small explosion of fire, which you will want to dodge roll away from as best you can. Sometimes Gwendil will even throw multiple bombs at you at once, and this is your cue to move quickly to escape the range of explosions.

Fire kills!

Fire damage is the order of the day here from Gwendil, so firstly you may want to consider bulking yourself up against Fire damage at Ward 13 before you take her own. Purchasing the Bruiser armour set for example should give you a nice boost to Fire damage. Fire causes the Burn debuff which gradually causes you to lose health. Dodge roll to significantly reduce the time you are on fire, and stop the health depletion. Also not, not only can you catch fire from the explosions of Gwendil’s bombs and from the enemies that put themselves on fire, but there are also patches of oil on the floor dotted around the arena, which if ignited will also cause you to catch fire if you touch them. So watch out for all these dangers, and whenever you are on fire, roll away quickly.

Clear the way

There’s a lot to consider with bombs flying around and fire everywhere, but the last thing you need are grunt enemies causing you more hassle. Try and keep distance between you and Gwendil (head to the other side of the arena) and take out grunts as soon as you see them, to give you some breathing space. Also, remember that Gwendil’s gun-toting friends on the buildings also respawn over time, so keep a lookout for them as well. You’ll have a much easier time when you can just focus on dealing damage to Gwendil, so clear everything else out first to give you a clear shot.

Shoot and run

You need to keep moving during much of this fight so that you avoid the damage from Gwendil’s bombs. Once you’re safe it’s worth peeking up to spot Gwendil and taking some shots at her before moving again before her bomb explodes in your face. If you can aim for her head for extra damage, then do so, or even better, try and shoot the bomb she holds before throwing it. It will explode in her hand, and deal good damage to her as well as meaning she isn’t throwing it your way.

It will take time and patience, but Gwendil: The Unburnt in Remnant 2 will go down eventually if you play it safe and sensible. You’ll be rewarded with a Trait Point and some Alkahest Powder for your trouble.

]]>
The Root Mantis is the first boss you will come across in Remnant 2, and beating it can prove a little tricky. Whilst it serves as a tutorial boss before you get to the game proper, you’ve had very little time to understand Remnant 2’s mechanics and controls before you’re thrown into this boss fight. As such it can feel a little overwhelming.

But worry not, here at God is a Geek, we’ll guide you through everything you need to know to beat the Root Mantis in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 | How to beat Root Mantis

You’re not alone

The first thing to bear in mind in this fight, is thankfully you have some NPC teammates to help you. Not only will they be firing at the Root Mantis, to help you take it down, but they’ll also, crucially be distracting it for portions of the fight, and that gives you some room to breathe and plan what to do next. Make the most of the moments where the Root Mantis is not attacking you and focussing on someone else, to your advantage. Take a moment to reload your weapon, get yourself well-positioned out of a corner, and make sure you land those shots.

Keep your distance

Remnant 2 is a shooter, and as such it makes sense to keep your distance from the Root Mantis and shoot from afar. Not only does this keep you relatively safe, but it also gives you a chance to react. The Root Mantis is surprisingly quick for a boss, and when it has its eye on you, can close you down very quickly, so keep an eye on this and be ready to move and maintain your distance for the duration.

Remember to dodge

Dodging is vital in Remnant 2 and the Root Mantis is a good a lesson as any in that regard. Not only might you need to dodge out of the way if the Root Mantis bears down on your quicker than you expected, but you’ll also need to look out for the Root Mantis’ ranged attack. It will frequently spit at you and with surprising accuracy, so be sure to watch out for this and dodge roll to the side.

Take your time

At this stage in the game, you haven’t got a reliable healing method, so your life bar is precious. So whilst it can be tempting to brute force your way through, it’s better to dodge and keep your distance, because it’ll mean that you actually survive the fight. Wait for the openings between its attacks or when it is focussed on a teammate to let loose with your gun. Take your time and the Root Mantis should go down.

And that’s it, you have successfully taken down the Root Mantis in Remnant 2.

The post Unveiling the Advantages of VPNs: Ensuring Your Online Security and Beyond appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
Introduction
In the modern era of technology, the internet has become an integral part of our daily lives, offering unlimited information and services at our fingertips. However, alongside its convenience and accessibility, the online world also poses potential risks to our privacy and security. Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) have become indispensable tools for protecting online activities and unlocking numerous advantages beyond simple security. This article will delve deeper into the benefits of VPNs, exploring how they enhance our internet experience and offering valuable insights into their versatile applications.

Elevating my Digital Shield with VPNs

As I immerse myself in the world of cybersecurity, I’ve come to truly appreciate the exceptional armor that VPNs provide. Whenever I embrace the encrypted pathways of a VPN, my data metamorphoses into an enigma, rendering cybercriminals and hackers clueless about breaching my sensitive information. This additional layer of protection proves its worth during my expeditions through public Wi-Fi territories, such as bustling coffee shops, airports, or luxurious hotels. With a VPN as my trusted digital shield, I can traverse the online realm swiftly and confidently, knowing my data remains securely cloaked from potential threats.

Anonymity and Confidentiality

VPNs serve as guardians of anonymity while surfing the vast expanse of the internet. Masking real IP addresses becomes their sacred duty, preventing websites, advertisers, and internet service providers from stalking users’ online activities. In doing so, they not only safeguard personal confidentiality but also minimize the impact of personalized ads and unwarranted profiling based on internet usage habits. Embracing a VPN means embracing a digital cloak of invisibility, allowing users to explore the online landscape without being subjected to prying eyes.

Unveiling a Global Content Wonderland with VPNs

Close your eyes and envision the enchanting possibilities of a digital journey that transcends borders, like a magical touch of a VPN. Picture yourself connecting to a server in a faraway land, as virtual gates open, granting you access to a treasure trove of content that once eluded your grasp in your local region. It’s as if the internet’s secret doors swing wide open, offering you an all-access pass to a world of entertainment and knowledge. For expats and travelers, VPNs become their virtual ticket home, keeping them closely tethered to their favorite shows and services, regardless of their global adventures.

Embracing Online Freedom with VPNs

In my pursuit of digital liberation, VPNs have become my unwavering allies, empowering me to venture into the vast realms of legal P2P file sharing and the occasional thrill of torrenting. Wrapped in the embrace of anonymity, my IP address veiled, and my data shielded by layers of encryption, I navigate the online playground with unbridled freedom, unshackled from the chains of fear. My heart swells with gratitude, knowing that VPNs stand guard, shielding me from any legal predicaments arising from my online endeavors. My digital escapades transform into tales of freedom, where I relish the bounties of the digital universe without a care in the world.

Bypassing Internet Censorship

In regions rife with strict internet censorship, VPNs have become invaluable keys to accessing unrestricted information. By connecting to servers outside their country’s boundaries, users effectively circumvent censorship and revel in the glory of public internet access, promoting the free flow of information, and fostering a sense of global connectedness.

Protection for Business Transactions

VPNs not only serve individual users but also form a vital pillar of defense for businesses. When employees require remote access to confidential corporate data, VPNs ensure that data transmission remains impervious to prying eyes, securely encrypted and safeguarded. This protection becomes even more critical when accessing business networks via public or unsecured Wi-Fi connections, fortifying the virtual fortress of corporate security.

Cost Savings

Intriguingly, VPNs can also be allies in the quest for cost savings. By connecting through servers stationed in various countries, users can unearth more affordable deals when booking flights, accommodations, or other online services. The economic benefits of VPNs provide a delightful bonus, proving that the digital realm can be both secure and thrifty.

Enhanced Gaming Experience

Gamers, too, can find sanctuary in the virtual embrace of VPNs. By connecting to servers located closer to gaming servers, a VPN reduces latency and lag, culminating in a smoother, more immersive gaming experience. Delays and disruptions become a thing of the past, allowing gamers to savor the thrill of virtual competition in all its glory.

Peace of Mind for Remote Work

In an era marked by the rise of remote work, VPNs furnish an additional layer of security for remote employees accessing company resources and communications. This added protection ensures confidentiality and data integrity, easing concerns about data breaches and instilling a sense of reassurance while working outside traditional office boundaries.

Protect Multiple Devices

The versatility of VPNs shines through their ability to shield multiple devices simultaneously. Most VPN services offer the convenience of safeguarding laptops, smartphones, tablets, and even smart home devices under a single VPN subscription, amplifying the benefits across all internet-connected gadgets.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) stand as formidable allies, providing a plethora of advantages that extend far beyond ensuring online security. Their prowess in protecting privacy, bypassing censorship, unlocking geo-restricted content, and enhancing the overall online experience has elevated them to an indispensable position in the digital realm. Whether used for personal or business purposes, integrating VPNs into your internet activities has the power to revolutionize your online ventures while instilling a profound sense of tranquility amid the ever-changing digital landscape. Embrace the empowering potential of VPNs, and let them serve as your digital guardians, fostering a world where safety and freedom dance in harmony. Stay secure, stay connected, and unlock the boundless wonders of VPNs!

]]>
In our Pikmin 4 purple Pikmin guide we will teach you how to farm the mighty Purple Pikmin, which you’ll need in order to 100% the game.

As you progress through the story mode of Pikmin 4, you will naturally come across every type you need, from Red to the more secret ones later on, but the type that’s essential for 100% completion, is the mighty Purple lads and lasses. There are a few ways you can get lots and lots of them, but our Pikmin 4 purple Pikmin guide will net you ten new purples every few minutes, so read on to find out how. We’ve even included a handy video guide for you if you fancy, so subscribe to our YouTube Channel to never miss another video.

Pikmin 4 purple Pikmin guide: how many do I really need?

Chances are if you’re even searching for a Pikmin 4 purple Pikmin guide, then you know why you need at least 90, if not 100 of the little friends, and that’s to get the largest and heaviest treasure from the final location. Yes, to get the gold bar you’ll need 1000 strength, and the purple Pikmin have 100 each, so you can do the sums here, and work out that without Oatchie, you’d need 100 of them, or 90 and a maxed-out Oatchie who can add 100 to the strength meter.

Where to farm them?

Pikmin 4 purple Pikmin guide | How to farm purple Pikmin

You’ll need to be a little way into the game, but not that far, and have unlocked “Hero’s Hideaway” as a destination. Here, the easiest starting location is 2. Feasting Centre. From there head to Plunder Palace, which is a dungeon with 5 sublevels, and you need to ride a lift up after climbing up a few little objects.

Pikmin 4 purple Pikmin guide | How to farm purple Pikmin

Take any ten Pikmin you fancy, it doesn’t matter, but know they will be converting to purples, so don’t bring any critters you will miss. Hit start and button through any menus or animations, then immediately head under the toys past a giant breadbug, and up the ramp, bending left towards the first Pikmin flower.

Pikmin 4 purple Pikmin guide | How to farm purple Pikmin

Throw your first five Pikmin in, collect up your new five purples, and head to the lift. If you’re quick enough, on some cycles this can all be done without waiting for the lift at all.

Pikmin 4 purple Pikmin guide

Once up the lift, ignore any enemies and run diagonally across the table to the next purple flower. Hop down and throw five more in, and collect up your new purples.

Lastly, with your ten new friends in tow, jump off the chair and sprint with Oatchie to the exit. Skip all the scenes, and that’s it, you’ve got ten more purple Pikmin.

Next steps

All you have to do now is turn around, jump back in and repeat the steps above. It should take less than two minutes to get ten new purple friends, meaning you can get up to or over 100 in no time at all.

If you’re still struggling, check out our full video walkthrough, below.

The post Remnant 2 | How to use Mutators appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
Remnant 2 introduces a lot of new systems and overhauls older ones, meaning some of it can be a little confusing even to veterans of From the Ashes. One new system involves Mutators, which are utterly essential to endgame builds regardless of your Archetype mix.

But how do you use them, where do you get them, and just what the hell do they do? Well, we’ve got you covered with our guide on how to use Mutators in Remnant 2.

What are Mutators?

Mutators in Remnant 2 are like passive mods. They slot into your kit and provide a multitude of different benefits. For example, the Lithely Mutator increases your reload speed based on how many enemies you killed with your current mag. They can drastically affect your builds, or add a little benefit here and there when you need it.

Essentially, they have replaced Armor Set Bonuses meaning you can wear whatever you like while still equipping up to three Mutators for the perks.

Remnant 2 Mutators

Remnant 2 | How do you get Mutators?

There are two main sources for Mutators. The first is to visit Dwell, the Pan vendor in Ward 13. He sells them for scrap and Relic Dust and will occasionally get a new one in. He will also upgrade them for scrap and Corrupted Lumenite, increasing their efficacy.

How do you use Mutators?

Mutators will slot in any weapon except the grey starting weapons. Any that you find or buy will have a Mutator slot; even the melee weapons you find that don’t have a Mod slot, or unique weapons with a fixed Mod slot, will have a Mutator Slot.

There’s no cost to slot one or remove one, though melee weapons can only equip Mutators with melee effects. Once you equip one (and you can have up to three), the effect is always ready to trigger. Some are continuous buffs, others require certain triggers such as a charged melee attack or a reload.

The post Remnant 2 | How to unlock the Summoner Archetype appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
Although the five starting Archetypes in Remnant 2, there are also several “secret” Archetypes to be found in the various worlds and dungeons. We stumbled across one in our review playthrough, the Summoner, and in this guide we’ll tell you where to find it, and how to get the Summoner Archetype in Remnant 2.

What is the Summoner Archetype?

As you might have guessed, this class focuses heavily on summoning companions to fight for you and alongside you. It’s most analogous to, say, a Necromancer build, with perks that boost your summon strengths and the “Regrowth” Trait card that increases your health regen for every active summon.

It’s a massive game-changer in terms of gameplay and build composition, too, with an incredibly different skill set and a whole new suite of build options.

Remnant 2 | How to find the Summoner Archetype

So, this may rely on a little RNG. To unlock the Summoner, you’ll need to find the Bloodmoon Altar. For us, it appeared in the Far Woods area of Yaesha, although we’ve also seen it in the Forgotten Grove area, too. It shows up as a blue icon on the map that looks similar to a save crystal.

Of course, you can’t just pick it up. The Altar sells an Old Grimoire, as well as a melee weapon, two rings, an amulet, and the creepy Knotted Bone armour set. But while there’s a cost of scrap, you’ll also need Bloodmoon Essence – and the game gives you no clue how to get it. Oh, and you’ll need a hell of a lot to unlock everything.

How to farm Bloodmoon Essence

You can only obtain Bloodmoon Essence from one source: killing whisps during a Blood Moon. Unfortunately, this sounds easier than it is.

First of all, a Blood Moon is a randomly occurring event that may or may not be active when you warp into the Far Woods. It’s signified by, you guessed it, a massive crimson moon in the sky. When this happens, you’ll need to travel the map looking for glowing whisps in the sky. You can’t miss them, they don’t fly away, and you can’t miss the essence they drop as it tracks to you.

Remnant 2 summoner archetype

Sadly, though, they are rare. You’ll only find a total of 12 per Blood Moon and they don’t respawn when you rest or die. Once you have twelve, you need to keep travelling to and from Far Woods until a Blood Moon procs again.

The Grimoire costs 15 Bloodmoon Essence, so you’ll need to do it at least twice. The armour is worth having mostly because it’s badass, but also because it has the highest Blight Resistance, which is handy in Yaesha. There’s also a sword which is kind of ignorable, and some jewellery that boosts the strength of your summons.

I have the Grimoire – now what?

Now take it to Wallace in Ward 13 like the other Archetype items. Pay him 1500 scrap and 10 Lumenite Crystals and he’ll unlock the engram that allows you to equip the Summoner Archetype and raise a little army of minions to do your bidding. So now you know how to unlock the Summoner Archetype in Remnant 2.

As with Remnant: From the Ashes, Archetypes determine your starting “class” in Remnant 2 – but to a much greater degree in the sequel. Here, Archetypes form the backbone of your build, each coming with a Prime Perk, a unique Trait, and a spread of Perks and abilities. Initially, you can only choose and equip one, but at a certain point you’ll be able to double up – and that’s where it starts to get really interesting. But how exactly do you unlock a second Archetype in Remnant 2? Read on, and we’ll tell you.

Remnant 2 | How do I choose an Archetype?

First-time players will need to report to a familiar face from the first game when they first reach Ward 13. Little Wallace is all grown up, and he’s able to read fragments of your future, to help determine your path. Which you pick is really up to you, but there are degrees of difficulty here.

The Handler and Medic are arguably the best starting classes. The former has a doggy buddy that can deal damage, take threat, and can be upgraded to heal you and your allies or boost your damage. The latter is, obviously, a healer, and able to regenerate health without needing to use a Relic.

Then there’s the Challenger and Gunslinger, both of whom specialise in very different styles. The Challenger is a brutal tank, built for getting into the thick of it. What makes it tricky is that it requires getting up close to the enemy. The Gunslinger (only unlockable at the start if you preordered) is squishy, and designed to deal damage fast while avoiding direct conflict.

Remnant 2 second Archetype

And then the Hunter is arguably the toughest starting Archetype. It takes while to become really good, as the Hunter’s intrinsic Trait simply increases range. You’ll need to stay away from the enemy and deal damage from afar. By the time you’re around level 5 of the Archetype, it starts to become the best damage powerhouse of all five, but it takes a while.

How do I unlock a secondary Archetype?

To unlock the Dual Archetype ability you will first need to spend 10 Trait Points anywhere in your Trait cards. Now you need an engram, an artifact that allows Wallace to unlock a new path for you. You can buy them from the following vendors for 1000 scrap (though you’ll need to find Gunslinger elsewhere):

 • Challenger: Buy the Old Metal Tool from Reggie
 • Medic: Buy the Medic Pin from Doc Norah
 • Handler: Buy the Old Whistle from Mudtooth
 • Hunter: But the War Medal from Brabus

Now take the item up to Wallace and pay him 1500 scrap and 10 Lumenite Crystals to convert the item into an engram. You can now equip a second Archetype, which will give you all its perks and abilities, and unlock a new trait card that will be active only when the Archetype is live. You can swap your Prime Archetype, too, but be aware that the Prime Perk is only active on your Primary Archetype.

There are also ways to find other engrams in the game to unlock secret Archetypes, such as the Summoner.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes – Definitive Edition review https://www.godisageek.com/reviews/might-magic-clash-of-heroes-definitive-edition-review/ Thu, 20 Jul 2023 14:00:28 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?post_type=it_reviews&p=280851 Might be worth playing this Magic game

The post Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes – Definitive Edition review appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
It feels like we’re currently in a golden age of puzzle gaming, but this isn’t the first time that puzzle games have taken the world by storm. Back in the late noughties some genius developers realised that combining match three games with fantasy RPGs could lead to some seriously entertaining games. First came Puzzle Quest, but the game that stole my heart was Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes. Even more people will get to try out this fantastic puzzler soon, because Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes – Definitive Edition is here on modern consoles.

The world of Ashan is under attack from a demonic otherworldly force, and it’s turning the five kingdoms against each other. With all the world leaders brutally murdered by this devilish foe, the only ones left to save the day are their young heirs. You’ll need to gather allies, legendary units and powerful artefacts from across the land if you want to win this war, so get ready for an epic fantasy adventure full of drama and battles.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes

Each combat encounter in Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes takes place across two halves of the screen, the top half belonging to the enemy and the bottom belonging to you. Both of these areas are filled with coloured units, and on your turn you can pick them up and drop them wherever you want. By lining up three identical units vertically you’ll activate them and a few turns later they’ll charge at the enemy, whereas lining them horizontally will turn them into a defensive wall.

Once a unit has charged up and is ready to attack, it’ll head straight upwards into the enemy forces. If it’s strong enough it’ll take down any walls and units in the way and reach the back of the army and deal damage to the enemy commander. Winning is (usually) as simple as dealing enough damage to reduce their HP to zero, but that’s easier said than done when the enemy is trying to do the same to you.

One way to get the edge over your opponents is to delete individual units to set off chains of matches and gain extra turns. You can also activate units of the same colour at the same time to set up a combo, which powers up the units enabling them to deal more damage. There are a lot of intricacies to this fantasy puzzle game, and you’ll need to keep them in mind if you want to deal some serious damage.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes

Another thing you’ll need to keep in mind are the differences between each of the units. You’ll start with simple archers that attack really quickly but don’t deal a ton of damage, but soon you’ll get hard hitting bears, soldiers, and even elite units. These special units are way more powerful than the rest of your army, with powerful special abilities like the deer that can jump over enemy walls, or the Treant that drains HP from the enemy and gives it to you. You’ll unlock all sorts of mythical creatures as you play, and can level them up to make them stronger too.

That’s right – Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes isn’t just about puzzle gameplay, it’s a full blown RPG. You’ll gain experience for your general and units after every battle, as well as resources to buy elite units and equipment that will add some interesting passive buffs to your team. The progression is really satisfying, and will ensure you stay interested for the entire lengthy campaign.

The story isn’t just made up of back to back battles either, there’s a world to explore, side quests, puzzles and boss fights packed into the twenty hour runtime. Separated into different chapters where you control different armies, there’s a wonderful amount of variety in this engaging puzzler.

A screenshot of Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes

Once you’re finally done with the main campaign, you can head into versus mode and take on bots, local friends or people across the globe. With a variety of different characters and units to use in this competitive mode it’s a blast taking on your friends, and it’s certainly a lot easier than online play was on the DS.

There’s not a whole lot to complain about in Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes – Definitive Edition, but calling it the definitive edition does feel a bit cheeky. The visual overhaul isn’t exactly jaw dropping, and the additional content is a single piece of non-story DLC. It’s a good job that the game was so good the first time around, and still feels fresh today.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes – Definitive Edition is a wonderful match three RPG that’s just as good in 2023 as it was in 2009. The army battles are thoughtful and engaging, and the campaign manages to change things up constantly throughout the twenty hour runtime. The Definitive Edition doesn’t add a whole lot of content, but if you missed it the first time around then this is your chance to play a classic that’s aged like a fine wine.

If you want to survive in the harsh worlds of Remnant 2, you’re going to need the best gear you can get. As you can’t upgrade armour and can only boost Mutators and weapons, you’ll be spending a lot of time – and resources – pumping up your arsenal. Here’s how to upgrade weapons in Remnant 2.

First, you’re going to need scrap. Lots of scrap. Secondly, iron. This resource comes in three types in Remnant 2: iron, forged iron, and galvanised iron. Then you’ll need to go visit Rigs in Ward 13. As in From the Ashes, you’ll find him sharing a workshop with McCabe. He’ll upgrade your guns and melee weapons for increasing amounts.

Remnant 2 upgrade weapons

Scrap can be found from defeated enemies and looting chests. While the same can be said of iron, you’ll also see that just lying around the landscape with a bright yellow glow. Hoover up as much as you can, because it never feels like you’ve got enough.

But what about your special, unique weapons? There are actually two ways to upgrade them. You can either take them to Rigs and pay scrap and Lumenite Crystals or you can farm bosses and world zones. Any weapon you find that you already have, or any boss material you collect that McCabe already turned into a weapon will add a +1 modifier to the item.

Not only does this let you save up your Lumenite, but it gives you a reason to go back and replay certain dungeons, and means co-op runs are never a waste of time. Now you know how to upgrade your guns and melee weapons in Remnant 2.

I was a little late to the party with Remnant: From the Ashes, and not through a lack of will. I tried and failed to get into it several times around its launch, and it wasn’t until this year that it really made its mark on me. But once I was in, I was all the way in, which set me in great stead for the sequel. Remnant 2 refreshingly drops the subtitle, which you’d assume would be a metaphor for a simpler, more streamlined design. You’d be wrong, though, because Gunfire Games’ difficult second chapter deliberately ups the density, to often quite staggering results.

Remnant 2 is a sprawling, multi-branching labyrinth of a game. Each of its worlds is procedurally generated, as is your path through them. You’ll have a random starting world each time, and each of these worlds is broken down into random dungeons, objectives, and bosses. The idea is that no one will have the exact same experience, and it works incredibly well. There are overlaps, obviously. You’ll meet the same bosses over the course of several runs, and the items crafted from boss materials feel a little too restrictive, but ultimately your story will be yours alone.

Remnant 2 review

Although, the story itself has a tad more setting than actual substance. Set some years after the first game, the Root has been effectively pushed out of Earth thanks to the actions of the Wanderer, Founder Ford, and your allies in From the Ashes. However, it hasn’t been fully vanquished, and the canon choices made at the end of the previous campaign have left many other worlds open to invasion. In Remnant 2, you’re the Traveler, a new protagonist who must take up arms against the Root. You’re joined by allies new and old, with many of the past game’s characters returning here, much older and more hopeful, living in a small town built above Ward 13. It’d be a nice place to settle down, but when your friend is dragged through the reactivated crystal, you’ve no choice but to go in and get them back.

The issue here is that because the worlds are so procedural, there’s little room for actual narrative development. Things just happen, and there’s very little growth and no real defining character moments. Characters who seem important initially get side-lined very swiftly, and the whole thing feels more like a device to give the action some context. Maybe that’s all it needs to be, but it would be nice to see Gunfire Games really lean into the characters they’ve created. More effort has gone into the individual stories of the worlds you visit, admittedly, but the motivation in each is often the same: We have a corrupted god that needs killing, go kill it, please.

Remnant 2

Before you go on your deicidal rampage, though, you’ll need to select an Archetype from the initial 4 (5 if you pre-ordered and got the Gunslinger early). Although there’s a great deal of build diversity later, the first Archetype choice will greatly inform your play style for at least the first 10 hours. I went with Handler initially, as the option to take a brave little doggo into Hell with me was too much to resist. And when the time came to select a second to combine with Handler I chose Hunter, a long-range specialist whose skills and perks seemed like the perfect choice for my play style, which was to send the dog in to take threat while I fired from cover and used AoE weapon mods to slow the enemy.

Even in the early stages, I found the build compositions refreshing and exciting. The system has been massively overhauled from Remnant: From the Ashes, though. For a start, there are fewer armour sets and they no longer convey set bonuses. Instead, most of your stat bonuses and passive abilities come from Mutators and Relic Fragments. The former slot into your weapons, allowing you up to three. These can have a multitude of effects from increasing Weak Spot damage to reload speed, and many have multiple effects as they’re intended to replace the first game’s armour set bonuses.

The latter slot directly into your Relic. Initially, this is the Dragon Heart, but there are other versions to find that change the Relic’s effects the way you can change the Estus Flask in Elden Ring. The fragments themselves improve things like melee damage, crit chance, and cooldown timers. It means armour is mostly cosmetic, although elemental resistance still differs between articles of clothing.

Remnant II

As with any game of this depth, one or even two playthroughs isn’t sufficient to fully understand the build economy in Remnant 2. There are weapons, items, mutators, modifiers, and traits you won’t even earn or find without multiple playthroughs, which will keep even diehard min-maxers busy for a long time. What I will say is that I missed having the armour sets, and I hit a point around 12 hours where I’d maxed out my 10 Vigor points and had to look for other trait cards and mutators to increase my survivability further. Even if this is purely by design, it felt a little restrictive that I couldn’t improve my armour and health points for such a long time after only a dozen hours of play.

The weapons and gear you can find and earn feel good though, and I was always happy to return to Ward 13 after slaying a boss or completing an encounter to see what I could craft from the parts that dropped. The more I played the more I felt the need to investigate the mutators and mods I was collecting, to tweak and adapt my build in order to survive. As always though, there’s the sense that it’s only in the endgame that you’ll find the best gear.

Although, you can start the endgame fairly early in Remnant 2, sort of. After you finish whatever your first world is, you’ll have the option to switch to Adventure Mode and replay any worlds you’ve completed as many times as you like, with random dungeon rolls. You use the same character as your current playthrough, so any items and XP you collect is carried between the two. It’s a really fun way to level up a second Archetype without affecting your story progress. The campaign itself isn’t particularly long for the genre, but as with Remnant: From the Ashes, the idea is to replay and explore, uncovering all the secrets you can. And as the worlds are so diverse, it’s hard to get bored.

Remnant 2 review

Remnant 2 is insanely creative. Not only in the appearance and tone of its worlds, but in the creatures within, and the boss fights and dungeon encounters. Not every dungeon has an actual boss fight, either; many have encounters instead. For example, in one area in the forest world of Yaesha, the finale of the dungeon saw me trying to outrun a huge contraption to the bottom of a massive helix as it crumbled around me and disgorged countless enemies. I also couldn’t go too fast or slow and had to periodically clear the mechanism of debris, meaning I had a genuine challenge on my hands.

The bosses themselves are almost all phenomenal. Some are smaller, more intimate encounters, such as the bow-wielding ghoul, Shrewd, or the giant Bloat King, a huge sewer slug possessed by an otherworldly wisp. But there are also large-scale fights against gargantuan creatures that almost feel like something from Returnal. Two in particular are very close to bullet-hell, and although I didn’t relish the thought of fighting either again, the experiences were exhilarating. The final boss in particular is incredibly tough, and had me re-speccing and upgrading for a while before I could beat it.

It’s hard to say exactly how deep Remnant 2’s various rabbit holes go. Some puzzles can be solved immediately, such as a clock tower puzzle in one of the Bloodborne-inspired districts of Losomn: Dran, while others require the passage of time and even repeat playthroughs or Adventure Mode runs to solve. There are mysteries everywhere; a door you can’t open here, a key that has no lock there, maybe an item you cannot reach, or an enigmatic item sold by a vendor that no one can identify. Every time I rolled Adventure Mode, I found at least one or two areas I’d never seen, and the ones I had seen were different, with new enemies, items, or tilesets mixed in with the familiar.

Remnant 2

It helps that each of Remnant 2’s worlds have a distinct visual identity. N’Erud is a vast desert walled off by poisonous sandstorms and patrolled by rogue machines; Yaesha is a woodland world of eldritch forests and overgrown jungles; Losomn is split in half between the apocalyptic, Victoriana-themed Dran, and the lofty, gaudy Fae, a realm itself caught between two changeable world-states. There are a few other locations, too, and each has the same strong sense of place and purpose. It’s almost a shame that so much work and effort has gone into the lore and backstories of these worlds and not into the narrative itself.

Yet I find it hard to vehemently criticise Remnant 2 for the shortcomings of its story. It is, as the first game was, deliberately, bloody-mindedly obtuse. There’s more joy to be found by applying your own head-canon to events than having everything spelled out for you, in a similar vein to From Software’s Souls games. It’s all unknown, so that when your protagonist admits regularly that they don’t know what the hell is going on, you can relate. And as they gain understanding, so do you. I’m not saying it’s a masterful technique, but at no point did the story, or lack thereof, impact my enjoyment and investment in the game.

The shooting is as tight and precise as any 3rd person shooter I’ve played, with impactful, imaginative guns that can be modded and fitted with mutators or modifications that alter their appearance. Most of the best weapons are crafted from bits and pieces of vanquished gods and monsters, so there’s some very weird stuff in here. Wait until you see the gun covered in wriggling fingers, for example. If anything I’d have liked some choices thrown in here, or at least the need to grind some of these bosses for parts. Most of the time, a boss material will make either a new mod or a weapon, and that’s it, one item per material, with no real incentive to replay bosses besides a free upgrade. I’d have liked to see rarer models for repeat kills, or even choices that force you to replay a boss to collect everything. As it is, it feels a little limited.

In fact, that might be Remnant 2’s biggest problem. In creating something so modular and procedural, Gunfire Games have unleashed a behemoth in terms of balancing and build diversity. As such, they’ve had to impose limits elsewhere to wrestle it back under control. Therefore armour is limited, weapon crafting is simplified; even the story has to play it safe enough to allow players to experience the entire campaign in a totally random order, even down to the minutiae of which bosses they kill on the way. It’s a game positioned to receive regular content updates and tweaks, but that leaves the base game feeling just a little undercooked in certain areas.

Yet this is still an incredible achievement. Either solo or with others, the sense of wonder, curiosity, and sheer explorative joy can’t be denied. Every time you step through a new portal, you’re heading into a dungeon or area you can’t predict; every foggy boss door leads to a fight you can’t fully prepare for because you don’t know what’s coming. There are secrets on secrets, things you’ll walk right by the first time. There are multiple choices within each world, too; which characters to kill, and which to side with; whether to bend the knee or stand defiant; whether to save a world or doom it for your own reward. Despite a few shortcomings, Remnant 2 remains one of the most creative, fascinating, and compelling games of the last few years and stands as a testament to what this developer can do when they aim to impress.

The term “your mileage will vary” is more apt than ever when considering the runtime of Gunfire Games’ exceptional sequel, Remnant 2. This is a game with potentially endless replayability, even with the diminishing returns that will eventually come from repeat content.

As a sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes, fans will already know roughly what to expect here: procedurally-generated full-sized campaigns, and smaller bite-size Adventures to run random dungeons and uncover countless secrets across a trio of diverse worlds. But if you’re wondering just how long it takes to beat all of it, we’ve got you covered.

Remnant 2: how long to beat?

The primary campaign of Remnant 2 will see you visit a total of five worlds. Two are much smaller than the others and fixed, those being the Labyrinth and the final realm in which you’ll face the main boss of the campaign. The other three worlds come in a random order, and the content within is procedurally generated to quite an insane degree, meaning very few people will have the same dungeons and areas in the same order. There are also multiple story paths through those worlds, too.

Our initial playthrough saw us begin in the futuristic Phantom Wasteland of N’Erud. We then went to Losomn: Fae (one of two potential Losomn rolls), and then to the woodland world of Yaesha. This can be in any order. Discounting time spent in co-op and Adventure Mode, our campaign playthrough clocked in at around 22 hours, though this could be quicker or slower depending on how many bosses you face and which routes you take.

However, to see everything could take more than triple that, especially if you’re looking to uncover every boss, item, and hidden Archetype in the game. We would estimate around 60 – 80 hours to play the campaign multiple times and roll Adventure Mode a few times.

Remnant 2 | How long to beat?

Which factors determine how long it takes to beat?

Lots. Not only is each world procedural, but there are multiple mysteries and puzzles that can eat away at your time. There are many dungeons scattered through each world, all of which hold treasures such as upgrade materials, boss drops, or even just Trait Points to help improve your build.

Playing in co-op elevates the experience, but you’ll only progress the host’s campaign, so you may well play some areas multiple times just to co-op. Factor in that some worlds have random conditions when you warp in that are required to solve puzzles or farm materials, and there’s no way to guarantee whether that will happen.

And finally, difficulty plays a major part. Remnant 2 is more accessible than the first game on Survivor Mode. Higher difficulties are tougher, and some of the bosses are a genuine challenge even on the easiest setting. The final boss, for example, may take multiple attempts even if you’re skilled.

Remnant 2: Can you continue after the campaign?

Yup. Finishing the campaign gives you a fairly ambiguous ending and then just drops you back in Ward 13 with the option to revisit areas you missed or re-roll the campaign, which is essentially New Game + as it scales enemies to match your current power level. Or, of course, you can continue re-rolling Adventure Mode. You keep everything you have unlocked so far on your character, so go nuts.

And there you go, now you know how long it takes to beat Remnant 2.

Skybound Entertainment has today announced a brand new third person action game called The Walking Dead: Betrayal. Set in the world created by Robert Kirkman through his excellent comic book series and further flourishing as a television show staring Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln, the new game is describes as a game of “cooperation and deception for up to eight players.”

Out of resources, with a horde of walkers on their heels, players must work together to complete objectives and escape in The Walking Dead: Betrayal. They’ll need to work fast, as walkers aren’t the only threat they will have to face in rural Canada. While these survivors struggle to escape, incognito ‘traitors’ lurk among them, plotting to do everything in their power to delay repairs, and prevent anyone from leaving. As evidence of their sabotage becomes apparent, paranoia and accusations threaten to tear the survivors apart as they desperately work towards escaping.

It’s being developed for PC by Other Ocean Interactive, the team behind Project Winter. Players can now join The Walking Dead: Betrayal Discord channel to sign up for updates, and get a chance to participate in the planned Closed Beta starting on August 10.

“We’re tremendously excited to unveil this latest The Walking Dead experience that fully immerses players with a fresh and unique take on social deception gameplay,” said Robert Kirkman, Chief Creative Director of Skybound Entertainment and creator of The Walking Dead. “Partnering with Other Ocean Interactive, true innovators in this game genre, will allow players to experience hordes of deceit and distrust as they struggle to work together to survive and escape.”

“Pairing our deep experience and love for social deception gameplay with the incredible The Walking Dead universe is truly a match made in heaven,” said Andrew Ayre, CEO of Other Ocean Interactive. “It’s an honor for our team to collaborate with Skybound and we can’t wait to reveal more in the coming months, and for fans to experience it starting with our upcoming beta.”

Drifter generates Scrap by attacking enemies, once collected this Scrap can be converted into temporary items for the rest of her team.

In the Risk of Rain Returns Dev Thoughts 31 blog, plenty of details regarding Drifter help to give players an idea of what to expect, including her abilities Blunt Force, Cleanup, Suffocate, and Salvage.

Blunt Force is a 3 hit combo melee attack that hits enemies in a wide area – each successful hit generates lumps of Scrap which litter the floor near Drifter – gather these quickly to fuel your more powerful abilities.

Cleanup tosses out some of your Scrap as piercing projectiles in a short-range burst – imagine a trash powered shotgun that makes mincemeat of even the toughest enemies.

Suffocate fills your meter without having to collect Scrap from the environment – This large melee strike stuns and does 200% damage – any enemy below 20% health when attacked with Suffocate.

Salvage allows Drifter to generate 4 temporary items – these can then be collected by any player making her the survivor with the strongest support abilities in Risk of Rain. Have your teammates not been as fortunate as you when rolling the dice at chance shrines? Create some temporary items to share among your team before facing the tough challenges that await you.

]]>
2K has today announced that the fourth WWE 2K23 DLC pack ‘Revel with Wyatt’ is available now, featuring Superstars Bray Wyatt, Uncle Howdy, and more. It’s something fans have been clamouring for for some time, as Bray is one of the most charismatic and creative minds the company has ever seen, however, he’s been off TV for some time now.

Despite his absence, he’s still one of the most popular Superstars within the company, and the surprise inclusion of the elusive watcher Uncle Howdy is going to make fans even happier, despite him never having an actual match in WWE. Other Superstars added to the game include Zeus, the monster from the late 80s who had a great rivalry with Hulk Hogan, and featured in the bad but good movie ‘No Holds Barred. Valhalla aka Sarah Logan, who accompanies the Viking Raiders to the ring, is also playable; Joe Gacy, leader of the cult-like faction The Schism; and NXT’s Blair Davenport.

Along with these new Superstars, their moves and taunts are also now in WWE 2K23, which can now be used for custom Superstars, meaning there’s a great opportunity to build the Bray Wyatt faction that could have formed from the ashes of the Firefly Funhouse. Also, MyFACTION cards featuring the new playable Superstars will be available within the DLC.

To coincide with the release of the WWE 2K23 Revel with Wyatt DLC, a new ‘Summer Heat’ card collection has arrived in MyFACTION, including Amethyst tier Batista, Stacy Keibler, Chyna, Ultimate Warrior, and more. Starting July 28, the Neon Horizons card collection goes live, featuring Diamond tier The Prototype, Leviathan and Chad Gable, plus Amethyst tier Alba Fyre, Bruno Sammartino, Grayson Waller, Roxanne Perez, and Scott Steiner, and many more. Finally, on August 4, the SummerSlam card collection will launch featuring Diamond tier Roman Reigns, Asuka, Scott Hall, Bianca Belair, and Jake Roberts, plus many more.

New Star Games has today announced its new retro-styled racing game New Star GP will be heading to Early Access via Steam on August 8. Not only that, but the team behind New Star Soccer, Retro Goal, and Retro Bowl will also be bringing their racer to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One later in the year.

New Star GP is a fast and exciting arcade motorsport game with stunning retro visuals. Play Career Mode starting in the 80’s and work your way through decades of racing while upgrading your car and your support team, or chase high scores in Championship Mode on your own or in split-screen with up to three friends. The initial Early Access version has races set in both the 80’s and the 90’s, containing 56 individual race events, taking in iconic racing venues like Brisbane, Quebec and Côte D’Azur. As Early Access moves toward a full release, there are plans to evolve the Career Mode to include future decades of racing along with new cars, locations, tracks and rivals.

New Star GP is by far the most ambitious title the team has worked on, with plenty of modes like the Championship, which has a variety of different championships to play in both single player and multiplayer (up to three friends). New Star Games will add more content throughout the Early Access period, and by listening and working with the community, it has plenty of potential to be another smash hit.

Pikmin 4 review https://www.godisageek.com/reviews/pikmin-4-review/ Wed, 19 Jul 2023 13:00:02 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?post_type=it_reviews&p=280892 All the small things.

The post Pikmin 4 review appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
It’s probably not much of a shock to hear that Pikmin 4 is a good game. With a free demo, and three previous games to go off, it’s not a surprise to know that Nintendo has made another good title in the series. What is a surprise, however, is quite how much the developer has gone to town on Pikmin 4, breaking it out into something so huge, so engrossing that, after thirty hours, I was still going back in for more.

Sometimes it seems like a Switch-era Nintendo thing to do. Take a beloved franchise and flip it on its head, adding in ideas and depth that you just wouldn’t ever think of. Pikmin 4 does this as well, removing much of the time constraints (though not all), adding in night modes, reviving caves that were missing from the third entry, and just creating the most full Pikmin title to date. It does that thing when you finish it, like so many current-era Nintendo games, by making you wonder “where the hell do they go next?”.

This time around you’re playing rescuer to Olimar, with a created avatar leading the rescue mission, along with faithful pooch, Oatchie. As before, you explore the oversized worlds with your miniature adventurer, collecting treasures for your collection. But right away, the feeling of quite how “big” this game is, shows its hand.

Pikmin 4 review

Now, you’re finding treasures which transform into power for your ship. You need to power it up to boost the radar to find levels deeper into the world to explore, and eventually get enough juice to escape with everyone you save. There are resources that can be gathered and spent in an item shop, upgrading yourself and Oatchie, or buying items. Oatchie can be upgraded too via his Pup Drive. For every person you rescue it’ll gain a Pup Drive Point, and before you know it your two-legged dog is able to wield the power of 100 Pikmin by itself, can swim, dash, kill foes in one go, and so on. This is Pikmin, but not as you know it.

Levels are enclosed but huge, but there are caves you can explore which will also be filled with treasures, and it’s often where you’ll meet new creatures in Pikmin 4. For those who aren’t aware, the leafy plant-based creatures you control throughout the adventure are the titular Pikmin, and each colour signifies a different kind of use. Red is fire and also your generic worker. Yellow handles electricity, Blueys can swim and venture underwater: every type has its use. New to Pikmin 4 is the ice type (light blue), and they are superb. Able to freeze enemies in place, in thirty hours I never got tired of bombarding a giant enemy with masses of light blue icy friends, then charging into them with Oatchie and utterly decimating them with the rest of my army.

Pikmin 4 review

The levels are also really clever, and designed in a way that you might set off to do one thing, only to be distracted by something else you have spotted, and spend your entire day doing that instead. There are side quests now, too, offering reasons to play more, expand your Pikmin army, and find survivors. Whether it’s being rewarded for blooming more Pikmin, or building more bridge structures, there’s always positive reinforcement happening back at your home base after a day spent in the field.

And it could have stopped there and still been a really good Pikmin game. But no, this time around, you can adventure out during the night. While I won’t spoil the reason behind why you do this, I will say the night missions are anything but a gentle sojourn. The creatures are rabid at night, with glowing red eyes, and all of a sudden it becomes a tower defence game. You control the green Glowmin here, and have to gather enough of them to defend against growing armies wanting to topple your bases and fail your mission for you. The music ramps up and screeches orchestrally at you: it’s an actual stressfest and a nightmare, but it’s brilliant, and offers a break from the “regular” Pikmin moments you might be used to.

Dandori is a word you’re going to hear a lot during Pikmin 4. On top of everything else, there are multiple Dandori battles within each level of the main game. Here your screen is split in half and you face off against an opponent, and the idea is you need to get enough points by grabbing treasures, enemy bodies, gold, and more, to win the match. There are bonuses for certain items, and even this mode evolves over time to become more and more complex. Some Dandori battles are just timed solo missions, and the idea behind the word is that you plan accordingly and execute a strategy, while also being able to change on the fly. And let me tell you, getting the platinum medal on one of these missions is as satisfying a thing as I’ve done all year. It requires you to entirely clear a stage of all treasures, enemies, and items. It’s great.

Pikmin 4 review

The deeper you venture into Pikmin 4, the more it reveals itself. Early stages offer simple battles and puzzles to solve with your strategy, but by the end you need to understand why and how things work, especially if you want to unlock and see everything. There is just so much game here, it’s difficult not to be impressed by what’s on offer. Everything is underpinned by adorable visuals, and a soundtrack and audio design that’ll almost certainly be overlooked by most. But when you hear the Pikmin singing as you’re wandering around, or hear footsteps change from metallic sounding to cardboard underfoot, it deserves to be applauded.

I understand why people might be reluctant to dive in with Pikmin on the fourth entry. But this is a proper, truly modernised version of a series that is crying out for more love. The storytelling, gameplay, and wealth of things to do makes it a great jumping-in point for newcomers, while fans will adore the easter eggs and new things to do. You don’t need to know how many times Olimar has been brilliant, because this is a new adventure; this is your adventure. Pikmin 4 has magic within it, and is a truly accessible, brilliant experience for all ages. I’ve always liked the series but this is something pretty special.

]]>
Sports betting has been one of the industries that was not really affected by the pandemic a few years ago, especially in some countries. Although there weren’t that many sports events to bet on, the sites that offer such services in Canada and elsewhere thrived because people were stuck at home and had no other option but to bet on sports.

It is no surprise that this situation led to many new online bookmakers, some of which made their way to the Canadian market. Although not all operators are good, certain brands know how to get people’s attention and have a lot more users than others. Of course, Canadian punters are looking for specific things when choosing what to wager on, so let’s learn more details about them.

Several odds formats

One of the first things that users check when looking for a bookmaker is the odds and when they can use different formats. Canadian punters can enjoy playing on LeoVegas and use a variety of options, but there are instances where this is not the case, so everyone has to research the bookie they want to try before making a deposit.

The odds format available in Canada will depend on several things, such as whether the operator focuses on a particular province or it’s available nation-wide. Of course, a lot of sports bettors prefer the American odds because they are more popular than the rest. However, others want to use Decimals because they seem to be easier for people with no previous experience.

Certain sites know that many of the Canadian sports bettors come from other parts of the world, so they have even more options. For example, people can choose between Fractional, Malaysian, Hong Kong, Thai, and more. All formats have some similarities, but they use different formulas to calculate the potential winnings.

Live betting

If there is one thing that sets sports betting websites apart from online casinos, it is the live betting feature that people also call In-Play. This is one of the “weapons” used by all leading gambling websites in Canada and other parts of the world, and it’s why many people like punting.

The live betting services offered by most iGaming operators in Canada provide special types of markets, good odds, and a variety of other things. Some of these markets are only available within this sports betting section, whereas others could be modified versions of the standard options. In terms of the odds, bookies will try adding more competitive odds than usual so that more people can put them to the test.

Esports

There are many different kinds of sports that people in Canada can choose from, but one option is becoming a lot more popular than the rest lately, and its name is eSports. Even though a lot of gamblers are yet to realize its potential, eSports is something that will keep growing in popularity and is here to stay.

There are not that many eSports-only sites in Canada, so most people who want to bet on those things have to use universal bookmakers. The latter do not have that many options, but they will offer top-tier games like Dota 2, so those who like wagering on the sport will have enough alternatives.

What differentiates eSports from the rest is the good odds and unique markets that are exclusive to each sport. Unlike the rest, every eSport is completely unique, so the markets for one game are not available for anything else. Of course, this attracts a lot of people.

The post League of Legends 13.14 patch notes revealed, including new Soul Fighter event appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
League of Legends is getting a brand new summer event called Soul Fighter, as the full patch notes for the 13.14 update have become available. As part of the event, players will also get a new game mode called Arena, a new in-client metagame called Tournament of Souls, and a whole roster of fighters wearing the new Soul Fighter skinline.

The 13.14 patch will also mark the beginning of Ranked Split 2. It also intends to raise top lane carry potential, lower early jungle gank power, and nudge down bot lane mobility. There’s also going to be some quality of life adjustments to Zyra, Xerath, and Lissandra, some assassin tuning, and changes to balancing regarding ARAM.

Arena

It’s here! The new 2v2v2v2 game mode is launching this patch and we’re excited for all of you to try it out! In the new Arena game mode, four teams of two players each fight one another in rotating combat rounds. After each round of combat, they will power up with unique Augments until only one team is left standing. Combat takes place on four different battlefields which vary in size, terrain density, and theme. Champions from the Soul Fighter universe will make occasional cameo appearances in matches. Sometimes they’ll help, sometimes not so much.

Tournament of Souls

Tournament of Souls is a style-rating-focused combo-battler that takes place in the client. As Samira, you will gain Reputation by playing games of League, which in turn allows you to face new opponents and unlock new abilities for Samira to progress further in the tournament. The objective of the tournament is to become the champion by defeating all ten opponents. You can claim rewards after each victory and take on new challenges after unlocking the Story and Expert difficulty levels.

You can find the full 13.14 patch notes for League of Legends right here.

The post EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team | What’s new, what’s changed? appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
As one of the biggest games of 2023, all eyes are on EA Sports to find out how FC 24 Ultimate Team shakes things up for the most talked-about mode in the title. Starting out as a paid addon many years back, FC 24 Ultimate Team is a chance for the developer to make big changes, as you don’t get the chance to make a brand new game in a sports series very often.

We recently had a chance to attend a 90-minute-long producer session, where each of EA Sports FC 24’s producers had a chance to come out and speak about their mode, and of course, Ultimate Team was front and centre, with Garreth Reeder (Senior Producer) and Jean Teather (Producer) kicking things off talking about the brand new feature: Evolutions.

FC 24 Ultimate Team: Evolutions

The idea behind Evolutions is that you can create an ultimate team player card that nobody else has. Reeder explained it’s “a new feature that lets you upgrade player ratings, skills, positions, and the items themselves”, and that yes, these would be permanent upgrades.

EA isn’t ready to show us any ratings for FC 24 Ultimate Team just yet, so used last year’s FIFA 23 ratings for examples.

Using Youssoufa Moukoko from Dortmund as an example, completing challenges they were able to get him from a 69-rated silver card, to an 85-rated gold. Once you start the process, a player is marked as an “in progress player” and the game will track his actions and progress, as you complete challenges. You might hit tier one first, which takes him from 69 overall, up to 77. Even after you hit 85 as a max, that might not be the end. A new evolution might fit the player and can keep growing him, which allows you to have a player you take through your whole season.

FC 24 La Liga walkout

Play Style and Play Style+

As per the main game, Play Style and Play Style+ are present in Ultimate Team. Tying into the evolutions mechanic, Teather explained that “Special and campaign items can be upgraded, too”. As an example, FIFA 23 Jude Bellingham Team of the Week got a Play Style+ upgrade and better stats. You can even upgrade the cosmetics of your Ultimate Team cards, and EA Sports has signed a deal with Nike to make custom animations for FC 24.

PlayStyles+ are visible on the cards to the left side of the card. There are going to be some seriously impressive cards fully upgraded. TOTW cards might have added PS+ attributes because of real-world stuff. The producers explained that if someone like Erling Haaland scored an amazing-headed goal in the Premier League, he could end up with a TOTW card that had the Power Header Play Style Plus attribute.

Position Changes

You can finally change players with ease, adding better stats and Play Style additions along the way. Instead of relying on cards from packs or the market to change someone from, let’s say, a CDM to a CM, you can change them wholesale. We’re talking players like Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk moving from centre-back into midfield. We even saw goalkeepers as strikers.

FC 24 Ultimate Team: Women’s football

This new game has given EA Sports the chance to add female players into Ultimate Team, meaning you can mix and match squads, or even have an all-female Ultimate Team squad. This brings in new chemistry options, so Chelsea players like Sam Kerr will have good chemistry with players from the Chelsea men’s team.

There are six new women’s football competitions represented: Women’s Super League, champions cup, Liga F, D1 Arkema, Frauen-Bundesliga, and the NWSL. The player stats are linked to the competition they play in the real world, not against the numbers for the male players.

Icon chemistry, finally fixed

Lastly of major note, EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team will have fixes that make the icons easier to use. Now they will give chemistry for every league represented in the squad. So this means that you don’t have to worry about the position modifier step, you can just move players around and they’l;l gain chemistry for their alternate and primary positions.

EA Sports FC 24 launches on all formats on September 29th, 2023.

The post EA Sports FC 24 Career mode | What’s new and what’s changed? appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
As one of the biggest games of 2023, all eyes are on EA Sports to find out how FC 24 Career Mode shakes things up for the much-loved, but often missed-out mode in the series. Career Mode is often the place many of us will spend hundreds of hours, but sometimes it’s a mode that gets forgotten or left behind a bit.

We recently had a chance to attend a 90-minute-long producer session, where each of EA Sports FC 24’s producers had a chance to come out and speak about their mode, and FC 24 career mode had a big part of that, with Alex Constantinescu (Principal Game Designer) and Pete O’Donnell (Game Design Director) speaking about not one, but two modes, as Player and Manager career are split up this year.

Manager Career: tactical vision

EA says this year the focus is on a “total management system”, offering more control, and a chance to implant your tactical vision onto a team. There are seven tactical visions to choose from, including the likes of Tika Taka, Gegenpressing, Park the Bus, and so on.

This plays into some of the other new features for FC 24 such as Play Styles. For example, you can now focus on individual fixtures in terms of preparation. You’ll get pre-match reports, and therefore you and your backroom staff can prepare a training plan. This means you can select drills that exploit the weaknesses of your upcoming opponent, and will allow you to gain temporary Play Style bonuses for players who otherwise wouldn’t have them. If you’re up against a team that plays “Park the Bus” for instance, you can train with the “Drill Maze” and that will give lesser talented players temporary access to the Technical Dribbler Play Style.

EA Sports FC 24 Career mode

FC 24 career mode: coaches and backroom staff

As well as hiring scouts, now you have to hire backroom staff in the form of coaches. The idea is that you’ve set your stall out as a manager who likes Tika Taka, you’ll hire coaches that also help in that area, making you upgrade your players and get the tactics across more quickly.

EA’s team explained that the idea is to combine your tactical vision with your coaching staff to get the best results.

Tactical view

Tactical view is a new camera angle for spectating matches. You can focus on a single player, or you can orbit the ball. Crucially you can make changes as the match goes on, and honestly, some of it reminded me of the old FIFA Manager games, and more recently, of course, the Football Manager series.

FC 24 career mode: player career

Not to be outdone, Player Career now includes player agents. You will be offered guidance and objectives that will help you try to make your career path trajectory. Basically, on-the-pitch objectives that, should you achieve them, can make your dream move a reality.

Of course, you can also incorporate the Play Style system into your pro, and the player cam will have a larger focus on you as a player. That’s not all, however, as you can now win the Ballon D’or award in-game, with a cut scene playing out and everything. There are other awards you can win, but EA hasn’t revealed them yet.

EA Sports FC 24 launches on all formats on September 29th, 2023.

The post EA Sports FC 24 is onto a winner with smart additions and small tweaks | Hands-on preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
It’s tempting to say the devil is in the details of EA Sports FC 24. After spending a weekend playing a pre-beta build of the game, there are reasons to be impressed with what EA is attempting with it’s brand new, not-FIFA title, while there are also elements that will undoubtedly feel familiar to people who have ploughed in hundreds and hundreds of hours of the past year, let alone the past few years.

The truth of the matter is, that a lot of what EA is doing to make EA Sports FC 24 stand out this year isn’t on offer to actually play yet. While we have a feature that details all the changes that make it a different prospect, I want to talk about how the game feels on the pitch, at least in the current state, which is admittedly subject to change, and EA says it’ll be listening to feedback to potentially make those changes.

That said, the presentation is another level up for FC 24. New menus and UI is one thing, but EA is attempting to push things a little further than even the broadcasters do right now, and as such has implemented some new unique stat overlays that’ll appear on the pitch, such as “Most Fatigued Players”, giving you an idea of either how much you’re over-using the sprint button, or perhaps just over-doing the wide play, which could even give you an idea why you can’t break down an opposition team’s defense.

EA Sports FC 24

Lighting is better, there’s a focus on showing what’s happening off the pitch a little more, and all manner of smaller touches that make it feel both more authentic, and less immersion-breaking than before. New features and buzzwords such as “GPU Cloth” (a fancy way of saying that shirts and kits look and react more realistically) and “EA Sports Sapien Technology” (muscles have been mapped to understand and replicate how the flex and move) are all present, as is the “GTAO” or “Ground Truth Ambient Occlusion” (better lighting and shadows), and all this adds up to make this simple statement true: FC 24 looks great, and better than ever before, with more realistic looking players, crowds, and stadiums.

But without question, the most significant change from FIFA 23 to EA Sports FC 24 is the introduction of “Play Style” and “Play Style Plus”. Have you ever played a match in any FIFA and you’ve gone to tackle an opposition player, won it cleanly, and the ball has somehow remained in their possession? That’s a rhetorical question, because of course you have. Ping-pong tackling has been a problem in football games for as long as I can remember, but the Play Style that the likes of Nathan Ake for Manchester City has now, means he has extra animations and will keep the ball close to him when making that tackle, and thus eliminating the frustration of making a great tackle, but somehow still not winning the ball. While I’d question slightly the choice of Ake in this pre-beta to show off that Play Style Plus, the execution is superb, and something I’ve been waiting to see addressed for the longest time.

There are three tiers to Play Style in EA Sports FC 24. Some players will be more generic, and have no Play Style. The next tier is for more well-known players who have been identified using OPTA (the stats people, no less) to have those Play Styles, while the top-tier professionals have the plus moniker. In practice, this means someone like Bernado Silva who has the Play Style Plus dribbling bonus will be just that bit better on the ball than someone without the plus, who will in turn be better than someone without it.

EA Sports FC 24

This all amounts to additional animations that only the right players will have. Speed dribbler, block, power shot, power header, dead ball, tricksters, and more, these boosts are going to make certain players feel very important in the new game, and should combine with things like the improved collision system which should mean that when a physical battle happens, there are fairer outcomes based on who is actually involved in the battle. For example, Rhodri for City isn’t that fast, but he’s economical with the ball and wins his duels, and that’s exactly how he felt in the matches I played. Mbappe is going to outpace him, but that’s no longer the be-all and end of the gameplay, and while my sample pool was limited to just four teams, there’s a lot of early promise here that suggest FC 24 might not just end up a pace-fest like FIFA 23 did.

There are new features worth noting, such as the precision passing that benefits the players who can utilise it. Holding left trigger, right bumper, and triangle will allow you to perform a swerved precision pass, and a line will appear on the screen showing you in advance where it’s going to go. There’s a new effort dribble touch that will make your player stretch out a leg to make contact with the ball sooner, so if it looks like you’re going to lose the ball to a tackle, you can get an extra touch in and move away.

Four new skill moves (skill rainbow, flair nutmeg, ball roll drag, drag back turn) have been added, and a controlled sprint dribble that’s somewhere between a standard jog and a full sprint offers more control over faster movement without hitting a full sprint. It all works, and it’s all very promising. But FIFA 23 wasn’t a bad game on the pitch, for the most part, so these changes don’t feel revolutionary, instead evolving a good game into a better one.

EA Sports FC 24

In truth, the biggest changes seem like they are under the hood, with massive updates to Ultimate Team and Career Mode. So far, EA Sports FC 24 looks and sounds the business, and there’s even a new secondary commentary team this year in the form of Guy Mowbray and Sue Smith. It plays a damn fine game of football, offering balanced matches that retain the feeling they could go either way, like proper football should. Tactics matter, players matter, and it really could be something special.

It really does feel like Ultimate Team and Career Mode have been given the biggest boosts off the pitch, and I’m dying to find out how what EA has told us actually plays out when experienced firsthand. Fingers crossed this early hands-on isn’t misleading, then, because so far EA Sports FC 24 is onto a winner, with smart additions, tweaks, and under-the-hood changes. It may not be a full-on revolution on the pitch, but it certainly did leave me wanting to sample the rest of the game in detail.

EA Sports FC 24 launches on all formats on September 29th, 2023.

As one of the biggest games of 2023, all eyes are on EA Sports to find out if any attention has been paid to FC 24 Pro Clubs. Will cross-play be included this time around, what of the league systems, and can anything be done to stop smurf accounts making new players feel rubbish?

We recently had a chance to attend a 90-minute-long producer session, where each of EA Sports FC 24’s producers had a chance to come out and speak about their mode, including Jeff Antwi, Line Producer for Clubs & Volta, because yes, first things first: they’ve dropped the “Pro” to match the branding of the game now. Introducing FC 24 Clubs.

FC 24 Pro Clubs: cross-play

So aside from that major change to the name, the biggest news is that Antwi confirmed cross-play for both clubs and Volta Football. This will include all match types, so that’s drop-in, friendly, playoffs, and leagues.

There will also be all new virtual pro content produced all year round, including gear by Nike as EA Sports has signed a new partnership with the brand. Play Styles (and the Play Style Plus) will be available in clubs for virtual pros.

League structure

The league structure for EA Sports FC 24 Pro Clubs (now clubs!) has been overhauled. Antwi explained this is to keep the competition “fresh for the entire year”. It will reset every six weeks, and you’ll have an all-new trophy room.

The idea is to build your club’s identity each league season, as every club match will contribute toward a shared club progression, adding fans as you get bigger and better. Fans are an experience bar of sorts, and as you get more, you will unlock bigger stadiums and more customisation content, and your AI teammates will also improve, getting better overall ratings. There are new rewards for every season, from banners to colours, lighting to inflatables, and there are also new animated TIFOs.

Volta mode

While Volta will also get the customisation options that come in through the partnership with Nike, and also benefit from the cross-play functionality, EA Sports hasn’t revealed any other major new ideas or content for Volta in FC 24.

EA Sports FC 24 launches on all formats on September 29th, 2023.

Let’s! Revolution! review https://www.godisageek.com/reviews/lets-revolution-review/ Tue, 18 Jul 2023 13:00:29 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?post_type=it_reviews&p=280838 Let's! Minesweep!

The post Let’s! Revolution! review appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>
Puzzle games have been around for decades, but outside of Tetris I don’t think any are as well known as Minesweeper. Installed on all the Windows PCs of our childhood, players were challenged to avoid all the mines on the grid by using numbers on certain squares that told you how many mines were nearby. Now Minesweeper isn’t really as culturally relevant as it once was, but that doesn’t mean its mechanics aren’t worth applying to new titles. Enter Let’s! Revolution!, a combination of Minesweeper, tactics game and Roguelike that is bloody delightful.

The aim of each stage of Let’s! Revolution! is to find the king who is hiding and chase him off, until eventually you catch the corrupt monarch and fight in the final stage. This is easier said than done though, because each grid based level has a road running through it with a few enemies on. Any non-road space has a number that represents the number of roads next to it, so that’s how you avoid it and the enemies that inhabit it.

The issue with this is that the king is hiding on one end of the road, so you need to figure out where the branching paths of this concrete line come to a halt. As well as His Royal Highness you’ll also find helpful extras like shops and chests (more on them later) on these dead ends, so getting your head around how to follow these paths without getting in too much trouble is the name of the game.

A screenshot of Let's! Revolution!

Which class you’re playing as makes a huge difference in how you accomplish this though. You’ll start as The Trooper, who is awarded extra cash for killing all the enemies on a stage and has a skillset to help him do so. This includes a whirlwind attack that deals damage to all squares next to him, and a bow to finish off anyone further afield. These attacks cost stamina to use and have a cooldown, but you can earn this back by revealing tiles so it’s worth using when you’re worried about bumping into an enemy and taking damage.

The next class you unlock is completely different, using stealth to find the king and leave the map as uncovered as possible for bonus gold. Switching from the violent Trooper to the stealthy Shadow takes a lot of getting used to, but with a little help from smoke bombs you’ll be able to hide any enemies you accidentally reveal and make your way to the king.

Finally you’ll unlock the Oracle, who gains a whole heap of extra wonga if she reveals all the tiles on the map that don’t contain a road. With powers that reveal how many enemies are in a certain column and the ability to teleport, this class is particularly hard to master and definitely not for the faint of heart.

No matter which class you pick, you’ll need to take advantage of all the shops, gyms and weapon vendors you find on your way to the showdown with the king. From health and stamina upgrades to perks like gaining interest on your money or even brand new attacks, there are plenty of options to try out on each ten to twenty minute Roguelike run you set out on.

By collecting special gems from chests you’ll also unlock more upgrades and weapons for the future runs, as well as the classes that aren’t available to you yet. The starting pool of upgrades and abilities is pretty small, so adding a whole lot of extra options always feels rewarding.

It probably won’t take you too long to overthrow the king and succeed in a run for the first time, because Let’s! Revolution! is designed to cleverly make you feel like a genius by keeping the initial difficulty on the manageable side. Once you do complete a run as a class though you’ll unlock new game plus mode which gives you new negative traits and less health to work with, and if you manage to beat that yet another level of new game plus will unlock. It’s a wonderful system that ensures there are a whole load of challenges to take on if you dare.

A screenshot of Let's! Revolution!

As well as being a thoughtful and engaging puzzle game, Let’s! Revolution! is also absolutely lovely to look at. The pastel cartoony art style brings this game that could easily be made up of just numbered squares to life, and adds an unnecessary but lovely level of charm to this grid based world.

If I had to complain about one aspect of Let’s! Revolution! it’d be about the fairly lackluster onboarding, especially when it comes to the new classes. It’s really hard to work out the best way to succeed as the two less combat focused classes, and a tutorial or two for each of them would have saved me a lot of heartache and failure.

Let’s! Revolution! is a wonderful Roguelike puzzle game that uses familiar mechanics to create a truly unique experience. With new game plus modes and plenty of additional content to unlock, this game will keep puzzle fans busy and satiated for a heck of a long time.

Astrometica, a new space survival game, announced by RockGame https://www.godisageek.com/2023/07/astrometica-a-new-space-survival-game-announced-by-rockgame/ Tue, 18 Jul 2023 11:43:52 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=280982 Into the unknown

The post Astrometica, a new space survival game, announced by RockGame appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

RockGame has today announced it is working with solo developer BeryMery to publish a new space survival game called Astrometica. The new title promises to take players on a journey through the cosmos “unlike anything seen before” by taking the gameplay seen in Subnautica and Planet Crafter, and including resource gathering, crafting, and base-building.

Immerse yourself in the vastness of space, the final frontier, where danger and intrigue lie in wait. Astrometica is an adrenaline-pumping space survival game that plunges you into the harshest environments imaginable, testing your ability to adapt, strategize, and persevere.

With a series of integrated systems – including an innovative battery system, an intuitive vehicle system, a robust crafting mechanism, and an exploratory research system – Astrometica ensures an enriching and immersive gameplay experience that goes beyond just survival.

The unknown will be your playground and your battlefield.

The key features for Astrometica include:

Resource Collection: In Astrometica, survival hinges on your ability to gather vital resources such as iron, copper, and ice from the vast expanse of space. Iron and copper are invaluable for crafting, and ice, when refined, becomes life-sustaining water. Beyond these, other materials lie hidden in asteroids and distant stars, waiting to be discovered. The art of strategic resource collection will test your adaptability and resourcefulness in this challenging environment.

Crafting and Tools: Crafting lies at the heart of survival in Astrometica. Using collected resources like iron and copper, you’ll be tasked with creating a range of tools and items critical to your existence and progression. From simple hand tools to advanced machinery, your crafting skill will directly impact your capacity to endure and thrive. The better your tools, the better your chances of survival.

Base Building: In Astrometica, you’ll need to establish your own space base, equipped with habitats, airlocks, observation centers, and essential machinery. This will be your sanctuary and command center, offering safety and strategic advantage in the infinite expanse of space. Your base’s design and advancement will largely depend on your resource management and crafting abilities. Navigating these complexities to construct a thriving base showcases your strategic skills in this rigorous survival adventure.

Signal Following: In the cold void of the cosmos, signals are your compass. Decrypt them, follow them, and unveil secrets and rewards that may aid in your survival. But be cautious, as not every signal may lead to safety.

Space ships: Speed across galaxies with an array of space vehicles. Be it a swift scout ship or a sturdy mining vessel, mastering space navigation and vehicle management will be critical to your survival and exploration.

Unravelling Mysteries: The mystery of a station’s destruction lies at the heart of your journey. With every clue you uncover, you’ll get one step closer to understanding what happened – and what your place is within this grand cosmic puzzle.
