As revealed a few weeks back, Street Fighter 6 just got a bigger roster, with 19th character Rashid being added via DLC.

Available on all formats, you can grab Rashid via the year 1 character pass, by having the Deluxe Edition of Street Fighter 6, or the Ultimate Edition, or just by using 350 fighter coins to unlock him, which will include his outfit 1, and colours 1 & 2. If you’d rather not try him via those methods, you can also use an hour long rental fighter ticket, which you can get via the in-game fighting pass.

Rasid will be eligible for competition use at Evo 2023 (August 4th-6th), as well, so expect to see him in action there. If you do unlock him, as well as the usual ways of playing as a fighter, he’s also going to be part of the World Tour campaign where you can get his moveset. You’ll need to have completed the World Tour mode to access the new missions that have been added “featuring the Mike Haggar Memorial Stadium Tournament and Suval’hal Arena”.

Here’s a list of some of his moves:

 • Arabian Cyclone: A new special move that performs a spinning kick and conjures up a whirlwind; can be used as a standalone blow, or transitioned into Rolling Assault or Wing Stroke
 • Arabian Skyhigh: A new double jump move that keeps opponents guessing on where Rashid will land from the air
 • Super Rashid Kick: Level 1 Super Art that unloads a devastating kick while soaring forward and up through the air
 • Ysaar: Previously Rashid’s V-Trigger move in Street Fighter™ V, this Level 2 Super Art summons a slow-moving whirlwind projectile that can be used to pressure opponents
 • Altair: Rashid’s Level 3 Super Art calls forth a tempest that lifts opponents before he rains down on them with a monsoon of powerful blows

Street Fighter 6 is out now for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC.

Krafton has today announced a massive crossover with PUBG and Street Fighter 6 as part of the PUBG Survivor Summerfest. Along with the collaboration announcement, other details regarding the event have been revealed, including a host of prizes, special drop events, an overhauled PUBG Arcade, and more.

Between July 26 and September 20, a ton of character skins from Street Fighter 6 will be coming to PUBG, including Chun-Li, Ryu, Luke, and Cammy. Players will be able to look like their favourite fighter while diving into the gripping battle royale matches, marking yet another exciting collaboration for the game.

Players will also be able to earn in-game prizes as part of the event, whereby completing tasks will earn Summer Stamps. These stamps will allow players to be in with a chance to win rewards like a new summer-themed nameplate, in-game premium currency G-COIN, and a high-end gaming PC. PUBG Summerfest ends on September 13, giving players plenty of time to start earning those stamps.

July’s 24.2 update saw a major overhaul to PUBG Arcade, including specialised game modes like Intense Battle Royale and Team Deathmatch joined by a new Bluebomb Rush. This new arcade will act as the home for all future LABS modes, along with the place to test new modes alongside the PUBG community. With the addition of Arcade Points, survivors can earn unique in-game rewards play playing these new modes.

Finally, Special Drop Events are also coming to the PUBG Survivor Summerfest. Rewards can be earned by players featuring the Street Fighter 6-themed helmet (Level 3), emote, Hunter’s Chest, Contraband Coupons to open crates for weapon skins, and more through in-game events like Summer Splash Bingo, Midsummer Check-in offering rewards for logging in, and the Battle Street event mission where kills are hand-to-hand.

The PUBG: Battlegrounds 24.2 update is live on PC today, and will be hitting consoles on July 20.

Capcom has revealed that Rashid will be the first DLC character added to Street Fighter 6, and he’s coming to the game on July 24th, adding even more content to the World Tour mode, as well as everything else.

In the Street Fighter 6 story mode (World Tour), once you’ve grabbed the DLC, he’ll now be a mentor for you to learn his moveset from, and apply to your custom avatar, and of course there will be story cut-scenes just like with every other character. In Fighting Ground, Rashid is the 19th playable character, and in Battle Hub there will be Rashid-based gear, emotes, and more through what Capcom is calling this month’s “Rashid Arrives” fighting pass.

Let’s take a look at his trailer, below, and note he first appeared in Street Fighter V:

Here’s the moveset for Rashid, from the press release:

 • Arabian Cyclone: A new special move that performs a spinning kick and conjures up a whirlwind; can be used as a standalone blow, or transitioned into Rolling Assault or Wing Stroke
 • Arabian Skyhigh: A new double jump move that keeps opponents guessing on where Rashid will land from the air
 • Super Rashid Kick: Level 1 Super Art that unloads a devastating kick while soaring forward and up through the air
 • Ysaar: Previously Rashid’s V-Trigger move in Street Fighter™V, this Level 2 Super Art summons a slow-moving whirlwind projectile that can be used to pressure opponents
 • Altair: Rashid’s Level 3 Super Art calls forth a tempest that lifts opponents before he rains down on them with a monsoon of powerful blows

To get Rashid in Street Fighter 6 you’ll need to own the Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, or Year 1 Character Pass, though you can also try him out with a one hour Rental Fighter ticket that you can get via the in-game Fighting Pass.

Street Fighter 6 is out now for PC, Xbox Series S|X, and PlayStation 5.

It’s a weird time for us all on the podcast right now, because it’s halfway between the biggest games of the year, and the biggest news cycle of the year, with a Summer of Games on the way. That said, maybe we can find out why Chris Hyde and Lyle were both absent during the same week after all. Maybe the rumours are true and they secretly get on really well?

Anyway, Chris has played some Street Fighter 6, and if you’re reading this and it hasn’t changed, so has Lyle: praise be! Lyle has also been playing We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie and Bleak Sword DX, but really all anyone wants to discuss is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Capcom has announced that Ryu and Guile from Street Fighter 6 will be making an appearance in upcoming dino shooter, Exoprimal.

Exoprimal is due to release on July 14th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X, and it’s also coming to Game Pass for PC, Console, and Cloud, and this new announcement will likely entice a few new fans in, since Street Fighter 6 has done so well critically, and with players.

Ryu and Guile from Street Fighter 6, then, will be donning exosuit skins that you use in Exoprimal to attack and fend off the dinosaur invasion. Check out the trailer below, and the official word from the press release.

The Exoprimal x Street Fighter 6 collaboration transforms Ryu and Guile into Exosuit skins players can equip when hitting the streets of Bikitoa Island. Keep on alert for future announcements on a combo of other Street Fighter™-themed cosmetic items Exofighters can take into the wargames this autumn. More crossovers between Exoprimal other Capcom titles are also in the works, so stay tuned!

Exoprimal is an online, team-based action game pitting humanity’s futuristic Exosuit technology against history’s most ferocious beasts – dinosaurs. Set in 2040, players are pulled into wargames orchestrated by the advanced A.I. Leviathan. In the main game mode Dino Survival, teams of five Exofighters race to complete objectives while fending off hordes of dinosaurs to survive. Each match is different from the last, and players can swap between Exosuits at any time and change their tactics as new challenges arise. Along the way, players will unlock story sequences and earn rewards to customize their Exosuits.

Mick recently had a chance to preview Exoprimal, and really enjoyed it. He said that it’s “simply chaotic, cathartic fun, of a kind that we just don’t get much anymore, and I’m excited to see more of it when it launches”. If you’ve ever wanted to do a Hadoken into a T-Rex’s face, this seems like maybe the only opportunity you’re gonna get.

Exoprimal is coming to PC and consoles on July 14th.

This week’s podcast is a two-man show, with Adam and Chris White not taking holiday, and instead talking games.

Adam has been playing Diablo 4 and has a lot to say about it, as he has complicated feelings. Chris White also has complicated feelings about The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which has gone on to be one of the lowest rated games of the year, and even caused the developer to apologise on social media to fans. However, while the pair have brought games only they have played, they have both together got thoughts on Street Fighter 6. What a game that is, apparently!

Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide https://www.godisageek.com/2023/06/street-fighter-6-find-thrasher-world-tour-chapter-11-guide/ Thu, 01 Jun 2023 23:01:57 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=278306 Hide and Seek be Damnd.

The post Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Street Fighter 6 features a wide cast of characters in its World Tour, and although it can be straightforward, chapter 11 is a confusing, provoking the question: Street Fighter 6 Thrasher, where are you?

Chapter 11-1 is particularly strange because, until now, you’ve always had a pink quest marker showing you where to go. Suddenly, however, Capcom decided to make you do detective work, and because it could be hours since you last saw Damnd, it’s easy to forget which locations he might be, and even if you do know, it might not trigger properly.

So without further ado, here’s how you find Thrasher Damnd in Street Fighter 6 World Tour, Chapter 11-1.

Street Fighter 6 Thrasher Step 1: Daytime, go to Abigail’s

Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide

The last time you saw Thrasher, he was at Abigail’s Scrap Metal, and while he actually isn’t there right now, you need to go here during the daytime to start the quest off properly.

Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide

You can see the location of the scrap metal building via the image above. Speak to Mad Gear Elissa and she’ll explain he’s asleep during the gay (“genius”) so you need to head to your hideout and switch day to night. Then revisit Abigail’s scrap metal at night. You will have to fight off or avoid waves of the Mad Gear gang, then speak to Mad Gear Butterfly who will tell you he’s “hangin’ out on the roof, like usual”.

Step 2: Back to the roof, where it all started

Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide

At night, you’ll find the ladder you should know quite well in Downtown, Center Street. Elissa is next to it, and if you go up the ladder you’ll find everyone’s favourite Mad Gear leader, Thrasher Damnd.

Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide

It’s worth noting that we experienced a bug where the quest icon would update, but Damnd wouldn’t actually spawn in. You can either save, exit, then load back in, or run around a bit and he’ll appear before your eyes, ready to explain what he wants next.

Step 3: Where is the Crow Gang?

Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide

You’d be forgiven for asking “the what what?”, because in our playthrough we hadn’t spotted a single Crow Gang member until we got to this mission and went to find them. You’ll need to run or fast travel to the spot in the map below (the green arrow), which is where you’ll find the Crow Gang hangout. It’s also important to note it must be night time.

Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide

Go here, speak to the the guard at the opening to the event, and fight your way through (optional, but good XP for higher level fighters is available here) to speak to the boss of the Crow Gang. That will then send you on your way to Nayshall, and you’ve completed the first part of Chapter 11. Well done!

The post Street Fighter 6 | How to find Lily in World Tour appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

Lily is another member of the Thunderfoot tribe to feature in Capcom’s popular fighting series, and you’ll be able to unlock her as a mentor in the Street Fighter 6 World Tour mode. She has a quick and devastating moveset which can aid you as you begin to craft your own style, so we’ve put together a guide which will show you how to unlock Lily in Street Fighter 6 World Tour.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour: How to start the quest?

On the corner of Central Avenue – Downtown – North, you’ll meet a character called Ana (Level 10) who gives you the quest called ‘The Spirit Guide.’ It’s a relatively simple quest and can be unlocked relatively early in World Tour. You’ll have to retrieve the “stolen item from the Canary Crate member in Chinatown – Hong Hu Lu” during the day.”

Street Fighter 6 Lily The Spirit Guide

How do I complete the quest?

To complete the quest, head to Chinatown and turn right down the alley to the right of where Chun-Li is standing. After a relatively easy fight with a guy called Zimo (Level 13), he’ll give you the stolen item needed. Once recovered, head back to Ana and she’ll allow you to travel to Mexico via World Map on your smart phone.

Street Fighter 6 Lily World Tour Ana

How do I get Lily as a mentor?

Upon arrival, you’ll try and talk to an older fellow on a chair to no avail. Lily will then arrive in style to tell you he is Singing Wolf, “the most respected of all shaman.” After he whispers to her something about an evil pest, she’ll start a fight with you after getting out her impressive weapons. Once the fight ends, she’ll realise you’re not so bad. Talk to her again and ask to be her student. This will start another cutscene, followed by her agreeing to become your mentor.

Street Fighter 6 features a ton of new and old characters that you can meet and train with, and one such character in World Tour is Manon. She has a penchant for flare and fame, however, her style can be one of the most fluid and powerful on offer. We’ve put together a guide on how to unlock Manon in World Tour, so read on to have her as your mentor in Street Fighter 6.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour: How to start the quest?

You’ll find the side quest by naturally playing through the story until you meet her agent Oscar who’s stood at the bottom of the stairs between the Drippin’ Style outfit store and Style Lab Beauty Salon. The quest itself is Level 20, so you won’t be able to access it too early, however, we found it during Chapter 8 of the game when we were Level 23. He’ll tell you he’s looking for “beautiful boys with adorable eyes” to go to France and get “hurled into the ground headfirst.” Sounds appealing, right?

Street Fighter 6 Manon Meet Oscar

How do I complete the quest?

After you’ve spoken to Oscar, the side quest called ‘Extra’ unlocks. To complete the quest, you need to “put on a judo gi.” This outfit consists of a judo gi top and bottom, and can be purchased in Drippin’ Style for a total of 10,800 zenny. Put on the outfit and go back to Oscar. He’ll then sweep you off your feet and take you to France where you’ll meet Manon for the first time.

Street Fighter 6 Manon Judo Gi

How do I get Manon as a mentor?

After you arrive in France and watch a rather glorious cutscene, you’ll have to fight a couple of extras. Once done, Oscar will talk to you and tell you Manon is busy. She’ll interrupt and ask you to show her what you’ve got. Once you’ve fought her, she’ll then become your mentor. Hey presto, you can now study under the tutelage of the French actress!

The post Street Fighter 6 | How to use a fightstick and controller at the same time appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

With Street Fighter 6 being released, one of the things that might confused people is the Battle Hub. For example, in the Battle Hub you can walk around in a 3D world and interact with things, like in World Tour, but also sit down for 1v1 fights against other real people. To that end, those who prefer to use a fightstick might be confused in Street Fighter 6. Luckily for those of that are like this, there is a way to play Street Fighter 6 with both a fightstick and controller (wireless) at the same time.

The thing is, the game actually does tell you this, but it’s a “first time” message you get when loading into the battle hub for the first time. This means that you could easily miss how to use a fightstick and controller at the same time in Street Fighter 6 because you’re buttoning through the tutorials to get into the action. So luckily for you, we’re here to explain how to get this all working.

Street Fighter 6: Fightstick and controller – what do I need?

First of all the most important thing is to have your fightstick plugged in, and logged in as “player one”. The idea is that you can move your avatar around the world with the wireless controller, using both sticks; and thus the camera movement is easy. You can use a fightstick for camera controls, but it’s a bit unwieldy, and though it isn’t awful, it’s easier to use both.

Street Fighter 6 | How to use a fightstick and controller at the same time

How to enable both controllers at once

Once you’ve done all of this it’s pretty simple, but at first it’s also quite confusing. First up, load Street Fighter 6 up with whichever fightstick you are using. It’ll be wired, if you’re using PS5/PS4 then hit the “PlayStation” button to tell the console your profile is using the stick.

Street Fighter 6 | How to use a fightstick and controller at the same time

For our playtime, we’re using the NACON Daija and you’ll know it’s active if the light is on under the PlayStation button. After this, hit the PS button or turn on your Xbox controller. Simply assign the wireless controller to a second profile. It can be a dummy one that doesn’t even have PSN/Xbox Live access if you want – in fact, we’d suggest that to avoid any confusion.

On Xbox it’s worth noting you must start the World Tour mode (etc) with the stick, first. Then you can turn the controller on. Again, whichever device you use: always make sure you are “player one”.

Once that’s done, you’re all good. You can go into World Tour or Battle Hub and move around with the wireless controller, then just move to the stick for fights. It’s the perfect way to play!

The post Street Fighter 6 | How to find Dhalsim in World Tour appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Within Street Fighter 6 the World Tour mode is a quiet star of the show. Offering a huge, varied, and fun story to experience, taking on the movesets and foibles of your mentors, shaping a brand new avatar you can even take online to fight opponents. However, some of the mentors you can study under are optional, namely Manon and Dhalsim.

Both of these characters require side-quests to be completed to even meet them, let alone have them as your mentor. We’ve gone to the trouble of doing all this so you can find Street Fighter 6 Dhalsim in your World Tour mode, because who doesn’t want to meet the master of the Yoga Flame? Follow our Street Fighter 6 World Tour Dhalsim guide, and you’ll soon be learning from the master.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour: How to start the quest?

As you’d expect, Dhalsim is located in his temple in India, but you can’t access that part of the world map yet. We’d recommend playing the story mode naturally, and eventually you will unlock a side quest called “The Yoga Statue”, which is located at the very south part of Metro City, called Bayside Park. This happened for us after hitting Chapter 11 of the World Tour mode. Once you do unlock it, head to the side quest and chat to the man there.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour Dhalsim - part 1

He will ask you for 7000 Zenny to buy a statue, which you’ll have to do. He’ll pretty much disappear directly afterwards, leaving you with no clue but to carry on your business. That’s step one of the quest done, and in the meantime, we’d suggest getting yourself to around level 30 at the lowest.

How do I complete the quest?

Street Fighter 6 Dhalsim World Tour - part 2

Once you’ve gotten to a decent level (we recommend 30), go back to the exact same spot only at night and you’ll find Anik (the guy who sold you the statue), who will admit he’s a con-artist, and you’ll fight him. He’s level 30 and fairly tanky, and he also uses Dhalsim’s moveset, which you won’t have encountered before now.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour Dhalsim - part 3

Beating him will reveal he’s a previous student who’s now ashamed of himself. He’ll give you some rubbish about being sorry, and then you will be able to select “Dhalsimer Temple, India” from the world map, and travel to meet the man himself.

How do I get Dhalsim as a mentor?

Unlike some of the mentors in Street Fighter 6, Dhalsim will just talk to you and immediately take you on as a student. After a very funny cut-scene, he will enroll you and give you Yoga Fire, Yoga Teleport forward, and backward, and the air versions of both. You can even buy a permanent stat boost from the merchant to the left, and fight the fellow student on the right to gain around four levels of loyalty to get a super move right away.

Street Fighter 6 Dhalsim World Tour - part 4

And that’s it, you can now use Dhalsim’s play style and special moves. Enjoy! If you’re still struggling, here’s a video that shows how to unlock Dhalsim as we did it.

On this week’s podcast, Adam has played over 70 hours of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and rather likes it, as you could see from his review. He goes to great pains NOT to spoil anything, and even risks the wrath of Chris Hyde for not writing guides, because he doesn’t want to be the one to ruin even a small moment for people.

Elsewhere, Street Fighter 6 is a game we had a chance to play a few weeks back, and we wanted to give that it’s due, in a preview sense. Speaking of previews, Lyle has played the “first year” of Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg.

Capcom has surprisingly announced an open beta for Street Fighter 6, despite the game being out in less than a month.

It seems the open beta is due to fan demand, as Capcom said: “Street Fighter 6 is to be released on Friday, June 2, 2023, but we know you simply cannot wait! Because so many people sent a request during the recent closed beta test, we will now carry out an open beta, allowing more and more fans to try things out”.

There’s a very brief trailer below, announcing the beta, you can check out before we continue:

The open beta will take place on these dates/times:

 • May 19, 2023 00:00 PDT – May 21, 2023 24:00 PDT
 • May 19, 2023 07:00 UTC – May 22, 2023 07:00 UTC

Capcom also said that “The open beta will feature the same content as the closed beta test conducted in December 2022” and that “The release version will be further adjusted and will feature updated character balance, etc. We ask for your understanding”.

As usual you’ll need a Capcom ID to get involved, and here’s the list of playable content:

 • Character Creation (Only possible to create once)
 • Ranked Matches
 • Casual Matches
 • Battle Hub Matches
 • Open Tournaments
 • Training Mode
 • Hub Goods Shop
 • Extreme Battles (Updates daily)
 • Game Center (Updates daily)
 • Challenges (Updates daily)
 • DJ Booth
 • Photo Spot

Luke, Jamie, Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, Kimberly, Juri, and Ken makes up the list of playable characters, and there are six stages available. You can create your avatar for the battle hub, too, but note that there’s also a demo of the game available for all formats that lets you try out the World Tour story mode, too.

We recently got hands-on with a lot more of the game, and Sean Smith said: “So once again, I walked away from Capcom a very happy and excited boy, dreaming of an arcade stick purchase (although I must stress, due to the mechanics, World Tour is strictly pad only for my money), and working myself up into a frenzy about all the fun I am going to have soon. I have never been so sure that a game is going to stick the landing, and utterly usurp the game that preceded it. I am sure a lot of casual fans who may not be au fait with fighters will enjoy it too, thanks to the accessibility and ease of sitting under the exceptional learning tree Capcom have generously included. Bring it on.”.

Street Fighter 6 is coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on June 2nd, 2023.

The first time my editor and I dropped by Capcom HQ for a hands-on preview of the forthcoming Street Fighter 6, it was fair to say we were blown away. Not only did we not want the preview session to end, but we also spent the entire car journey back, and a few weeks of text messages talking about it like a pair of excited schoolkids. Having just been party to three glorious hours of the final pre-release hands-on, that excitement has just intensified ten-fold. I experienced things I wasn’t expecting, revelled in the solid brilliance of the core game, and even fully laughed out loud on a few occasions.

I was granted ninety minutes with two of the main modes on offer, starting with Fighting Grounds. Within this segment are four sub-modes. First up is the tried and tested Arcade, probably the first way most of us ever experienced a Street Fighter title and still the go-to when trying out a new incarnation. I was able to play halfway through a standard run using two of the roster. Like a pair of comfy slippers, series mainstay Ken is as familiar as ever, even if he is now looking grizzled and wearing a sheepskin jacket somewhat reminiscent of some of the latter forms of one Terry Bogard. You know what you are going to get with Ken on a fundamental level – excellent anti-air capabilities, time-honoured fireballs, an innate ability to get opponents into corners or juggle situations, and within the remit of the Street Fighter 6 Drive system, being able to cancel into a Jinrai Kick to smash a segment of his opposite number’s Drive gauge.

Lily on the other hand is an intriguing newcomer who is an indigenous Mexican fighter from the same tribe as Super Street Fighter 2 legend T.Hawk, sharing some of his moves within her DNA, but also wielding two alarmingly hurty-looking clubs called pogamoggans. As well as the Condor Dive and a decent command grab like our boy T, Lily can also use her clubs to generate Windclad stocks which can then be used to enhance the power of her special moves and her Thunderbird Level 2 Critical Art. She is a deceptively powerful and extremely interesting character with a genuine sense of depth.

The Arcade playthrough saw many of the beautiful stages come to life before my eyes, as well as being able to smash up a bunch of familiar and not-so-familiar opponents. It came to an end at each halfway point when a bonus stage interjected, demanding I employ my fighter to annihilate a vehicle in classic Street Fighter / Final Fight fashion. It is of course wonderfully cathartic.

Moving on from the exceptional core game was the terrific Extreme Battle, which I believe will be a smash hit online. It is essentially a versus battle but with a bunch of crazed variables, one minute you could be avoiding being zapped by giant electrical pylons, the next kicking ticking timebombs towards your opponent in the hope they get ‘sploded. Meanwhile, a bunch of other random stuff can be implemented, such as being unable to use special moves, jumping being banned, or having your character in a permanent state of burnout and the coinciding inability to access the best that the drive gauge has to offer. If you have ever dreamed of using a rampaging bull to extend a combo during your Street Fighter experience, then this mode is for you. It is astonishingly fun.

Combo Trial is as you would expect and gives you a great way of learning the most effective combinations for each character. I tried this out with Cammy who as always looks like she will be deadly in the right hands and somehow even more nimble and hard-hitting this time around.

If that lets you learn how to physically pull things off, then the exceptional Character Guide tells you why, when, AND how. Controlling the clearly evil, psycho-powered new face JP, this incredibly comprehensive step-by-step guide is a fine way for newcomers to learn the way the mechanics and moves of each fighter work, and for experienced heads to really get under the skin of each fighter. It’s a level of teaching that is rarely seen in the genre. I personally can’t wait to kick some serious ass with, and find out more about the motivations of the sinister JP!

Normally the modes above would have been plenty for me to be getting on with. Hell, Steet Fighter V shipped on launch with less out the gate.

But the sheer glee of what I experienced in the first 90 minutes was somehow eclipsed by the utterly bonkers World Tour that I got to try next. I knew there was going to be a hitherto unfamiliar game hiding in the Street Fighter 6 package, but not this, not this.

I can best describe it as a semi-open-world, fully-fledged role-playing game set in the wider Street Fighter / Final Fight universe, that clearly draws its influences from Yakuza and Shenmue, but has fighting incorporating a fully customisable, scaled-down version of the Street Fighter 6 engine. Did I mention that it also has Metroidvania elements? No? Well, it has those too. Have you ever wanted to use a Spinning Bird Kick to access an out-of-reach platform? It’s in here. Fighting games have tinkered with the idea of different modes and gimmicks before. Soul Calibur and Tekken have had Weapon Master and Tekken Force; Guilty Gear went a bit left of centre for Judgement. But never has anyone done anything as crazy and super fun as this. According to Street Fighter 6’s producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya, Capcom’s ultimate goal was to “make another Street Fighter game that’s not just for existing fans of the series, but for everyone,”

And it really is. You get to create a character using a wide range of base parts and models (even your own face, if you really want to go full-bore mental) and then customise it to within an inch of its life. Progress in the game sees you able to learn different fighting styles from Street Fighter legends and incorporate their techniques into your moveset in a wild crossover of moves and styles. There are skills trees, NPCs, a crazy, ultra-violent, and never-not-funny way of challenging bystanders to a battle

It gave me a giddy unbridled joy that was like someone had injected the essence of the SEGA Dreamcast into my veins. It is stuffed full of easter eggs and references to games of Capcom’s storied past, but crucially above all it doesn’t take itself seriously. It is as much fun as I have had on a videogame in 2023 and I can’t wait to explore this lunatic world once it drops in June.

So once again, I walked away from Capcom a very happy and excited boy, dreaming of an arcade stick purchase (although I must stress, due to the mechanics, World Tour is strictly pad only for my money), and working myself up into a frenzy about all the fun I am going to have soon. Bring it on.

Take a look at our video preview to see just how impressive what Capcom has done with Street Fighter 6 really is.

Street Fighter 6 is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on June 2, 2023.

It’s not long until we’ll all be Hadoukening our hearts out in Street Fighter 6, and I’m happy to gorge myself on anything I can find out about the next installment in Capcom’s legendary fighting game series. Well The Street Fighter 6 Showcase provided just that, with information on what to expect after launch and details on what the single player aspect of the game will entail.

“The Street Fighter™ 6 Showcase, hosted by rap legend Lil Wayne, dropped new information on the upcoming game, including new details on World Tour, customized avatar battles, accessibility features, the Year 1 roadmap, and a demo that kicks off today on PlayStation®5 and PlayStation®4 followed by its release for Xbox and Steam on April 26!”

Long time fans of the series will be especially happy to hear about the characters coming in the first year after launch. After skipping the fifth game I admittedly don’t recognise many of them, but I can’t help but get excited when I see Akuma mentioned.

“Rashid of the Turbulent Wind, who debuted in Street Fighter™ V, returns in Summer 2023. The enigmatic A.K.I. struts into the roster in Autumn 2023. Ed, the Young Commander from Street Fighter V, also strikes back in early Winter 2024. And finally, the legend himself, the beast, the transcendent Akuma will rage into Street Fighter 6 in Spring 2024! All four of these characters will be included as Masters in World Tour following their release and are also included in the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of Street Fighter 6.”

Street Fighter 6 will feature Hikaru Takahashi on commentary https://www.godisageek.com/2023/03/street-fighter-6-will-feature-hikaru-takahashi-on-commentary/ Fri, 10 Mar 2023 08:03:09 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=274683 Joining the ranks.

The post Street Fighter 6 will feature Hikaru Takahashi on commentary appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

The roster of commentators for Street Fighter 6 is getting bigger and bigger as we get nearer the June 2nd release, and Capcom has just announced Japanese actress Hikaru Takahashi as the latest to join the ranks.

Takahashi joins the roster not long after Thea Trinidad was announced back in January, and we’re slowly getting more and more info on Street Fighter 6 as we get closer to that final date. The full roster has been announced now, with Cammy, Zangief, and newcomer Lily rounding them out, so it’s tricky to know what more we could get to see now, aside the story mode, perhaps?

Back to Takahashi, though, you can hear her in action in the trailer, below:

This brings the Street Fighter 6 colour commentary team up to a total of eight now, and while Takahashi is perhaps not as well known outside of Japan, as one YouTube Commentator said, “Capcom clearly knows their Japanese audience, I’ll give them that”. Takahashi has featured in a variety of TV dramas, while also featuring inn movies like A Living Promise, and last year’s Mr Osomatsu.

Myself and Sean Smith played the game last year, and it blew us away. Sean said “I feel as though even after little over an hour in its clutches, I could pen another few thousand words on Street Fighter 6, such was its impact. It feels like a huge step forward for a series that was, quite frankly, desperate for a reinvention and overhaul. To say that I am this impressed, this early in its lifespan, bodes extremely well for the future. I am already planning on treating myself to a shiny new arcade stick when this one drops”.

Street Fighter 6 is coming to PC, Xbox Series S|X, PS4, and PlayStation 5 on June 2nd.

Excuse the gushing every time it’s mentioned, but Street Fighter 6 is looking seriously good. Not content with impressing both myself and Sean when we got a hands on preview last year, the fighter roster has slowly been getting bigger. Right after announcing the likes of Dhalsim and Guile to ensure the roster of 18 will include all eight of the original fighters from Street Fighter, now Capcom has announced Cammy, Zangief, and newcomer Lily will be part of the launch roster.

We’ve got the trailer that was shown at the Sony State of Play for you below, along with Capcom’s official descriptions of each of the three newly announced fighters. Lily is from the same tribe as T. Hawk, which got me thinking how much I enjoyed playing as T. Hawk back in the day. Anyway, trailer time…

Cammy: First appearing in Super Street Fighter II, the cat-loving Cammy returns with her beloved arsenal of high-powered attacks, including Spiral Arrow, Cannon Spike, and Hooligan Combination. The Heavy version of each of those three moves has been enhanced to allow for a delay and altered properties or damage. Visit King Street, Cammy’s foggy, industrial stage, and perform Super Art moves like the Killer Bee Spin and Delta Red Assault to send opponents to their knees and get the crowd buzzing.

Zangief: Rumbling his way onto the scene is the immense Zangief, an original World Warrior who loves to show off for the crowd at Barmaley Steelworks. A professional wrestler by trade, Zangief keeps hold of his trademark throws like the Screw Piledriver and Siberian Express, picking up new moves like the counter throw Tundra Storm. His Level 2 Super Art Cyclone Lariat and Level 3 Super Art Bolshoi Storm Buster are sure to be crowd-pleasers.

Lily: A new addition to the roster, Lily will seem familiar to some as she is a descendant of the Thunderfoot tribe, the same tribe as the iconic T. Hawk who was first seen in Super Street Fighter II. Small but mighty, Lily speaks with the spirits of nature at her home in the vibrant Thunderfoot Settlement and defeats enemies with her ferocious Condor Dive, Condor Spire, and Tomahawk Buster. Condor Wind will grant one Windclad stock, which powers up each of the aforementioned moves. Lily wields her war clubs to barrage opponents in her Level 1 Super Art Breezing Hawk and slams her enemies to the ground with her Level 3 Super Art Raging Typhoon.

It has to be said, as a fan of both Cammy and Zangief, they both look fantastic in the new Street Fighter 6 aesthetic, and I can’t wait to get my hands on them both.

Street Fighter 6 is coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on June 2, 2023.

Announced over the weekend, WWE pro wrestler Thea Trinidad will be joining the rest of the crew as a colour commentator for Street Fighter 6, along with Kosuke Hiraiwa, Steve “TastySteve” Scott, Aru, Jeremy “Vicious” Lopez, James “jchensor” Chen, and more that are yet to be announced.

For those who don’t know, Thea appeared in character (as Zelina Vega) at the Royal Rumble over the weekend, and Capcom has a handy biography on its site to introduce her, along with the trailer, below:

One of the top female wrestlers in the world, a top tier commentator, and an avid fighting game fan, Thea Trinidad brings her 10+ years of pro wrestling experience to the world of Street Fighter. When she’s not breaking bones inside the ring, you can find her putting in that work in the gym or at home on her favourite game. If you’re lucky to see her live, you may even spot her doing a ninja run or two!

After playing the game back in September 2022, myself and Sean Smith came away incredibly impressed. After just an hour, Sean said “I feel as though even after little over an hour in its clutches, I could pen another few thousand words on Street Fighter 6, such was its impact. It feels like a huge step forward for a series that was, quite frankly, desperate for a reinvention and overhaul. To say that I am this impressed, this early in its lifespan, bodes extremely well for the future. I am already planning on treating myself to a shiny new arcade stick when this one drops”.

In fact, on the commentary, which we know people might not be that into, Sean added: “In a cool nod to the popularity of eSports and the huge fighting game community, SF6 also includes commentary from some real-life luminaries such as Capcom Pro Tour mouthpiece and Sagat doppelganger Jeremy “Vicious” Lopez, fighting game historian James Chen, and EVO alumnus Tasty Steve. I was suspicious about this inclusion, but shouldn’t have been – the play by play and colour aspects actually add to the gameplay, as they accurately dispense advice about your in-game situation, such as reminding you when your Drive stock is about to run out, or when may be a good time to think about popping a Critical Art. Their voices do not detract from the rest of the aural delights, which include excellent brand new character themes and the usual fine array of grunts, thuds and “Hadoken” shouts”.

Street Fighter 6 is coming to PC, Xbox, and PlayStation on June 2nd, 2023.

]]>

Let’s cut to the chase, Street Fighter 6 has finally got a firm release date: it’s coming on June 2nd, 2023, with some bonus content for PlayStation players. There will be three versions of the game (Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Ultimate Edition), which are detailed as follows:

 • Standard Edition (Physical/Digital) – Includes the base game of Fighting Ground, World Tour, Battle Hub, and the 18-character launch roster
 • Deluxe Edition (Digital) – Includes the base game and the Year 1 Character Pass (containing four characters), colors 3-10 for each of those Year 1 characters’ Outfit 1, and a bonus of 4,200 Drive Tickets for in-game purchases, all discounted from separate full game and Year 1 Character Pass purchases
 • Ultimate Edition (Digital) – Includes the base game and the Year 1 Ultimate Pass, which contains content from the Year 1 Character Pass, two additional costumes and their alternate colors for the four Year 1 characters, two more stages, and a bonus of 7,700 Drive Tickets

In terms of pre-orders, they’re available today, with alternate colours for “Chun-Li, Jamie, Manon, Dee Jay, Juri, and Ken’s Outfit 1, while PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 digital pre-orders will also receive exclusive items like 18 in-game Special Titles and 18 Stickers featuring unique art from the launch roster to personalize their profile”.

Capcom also shared info on the World Tour mode:

Visit exciting locations like a beach in Jamaica, an arena in Italy, a festival in France, and more as you travel around the world learning Special Moves from Masters. You can even mix and match Special Moves from different Masters meaning that your avatar can throw out a Hadoken or Sonic Boom, perform a Spinning Bird Kick, and execute a Yoga Flame, all in the same match as long as they’re using different inputs. World Tour also introduces Master Assist, allowing players to fight alongside a Master like Ryu by calling upon them in battle to help for a period of time, a useful tool for when you encounter more than one opponent. Lastly, play your heart out with minigames like karate-chopping bottles, enjoying Italian cuisine, parrying basketballs, and more. Minigames are playable in between matches in the form of part-time jobs where you can earn World Tour mode currency to purchase in-game clothing, food, and more.

Of major note, four characters were revealed, including a returning classic and three newbies:

 • Dee Jay – First appearing in Super Street Fighter II, Dee Jay is a globally popular dance music superstar with a burning love for music and fighting. As a returning character in the series, Dee Jay retains his trademark moves that will get you in the rhythm such as Air Slasher, Double Rolling Sobat, Machine Gun Upper, and Jackknife Maximum, while adding new moves like Jus Cool and Weekend Pleasure to his arsenal. Visit Bathers Beach, Dee Jay’s stage in Street Fighter 6, to find a beachside party full of life amidst a setting sun.
 • Manon – A supermodel and world champion judoka, Manon struts the catwalk of street fighting to become the world’s strongest model. Manon’s move set is a graceful union between judo grappling and classical ballet with moves like the Manège Doré, Renversé, Pas de Deux, and more. Find her in the Fete Foraine stage in France, a dazzling carnival amidst the French skyline.
 • Marisa – Marisa is an up-and-coming jewelry designer from Italy who claims ancestry to ancient Greek warriors. A powerhouse of a character, Marisa utilizes her long limbs to unleash slow yet gargantuan strikes like the devastating Gladius, defensive counter Scutum, powerful Quadriga kick, and the almighty Goddess of the Hunt. Bask in the scent of victory in Colosseo, Marisa’s stage, with battle-ready warriors in the background cheering you on.
 • JP – JP is the head of an international nonprofit organization responsible for many successful investment projects, and the man behind Nayshall’s present prosperity. He has a beloved cat named Cybele. JP takes control of the entire map from all angles with moves like the powerful void-creating Departure, the clone-deploying Torbalan, the Embrace grab, and the destructive Interdiction.

Lastly, Capcom detailed abionus for Street Fighter V: Champion Edition players with “the Street Fighter RVN6ACK Campaign! Create a CAPCOM ID and link your platform to receive Super Street Fighter II Turbo in the Battle Hub when Street Fighter 6 launches”.

The post Street Fighter 6 second closed beta dated for this month appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Capcom has announced dates for the second Street Fighter 6 closed beta, which will once again take place over a weekend and include cross play.

The second closed beta will take place from December 16th until December 19th, and if you played the first one, you don’t need to do anything except load up the beta again during those times. It’ll include cross play with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC (Steam), and will include the following modes:

 • Ranked Match
 • Casual Match
 • Battle Hub Match
 • Open Tournament
 • Extreme Battle
 • Game Centre
 • Training Mode

If you didn’t get in the first time, Capcom has changed how the application works. The developer says that “Due to unauthorized reselling of access codes for the 1st Closed Beta Test, we have made changes to the application process. We appreciate your understanding”. Selection for the beta is lottery-based, so not first-come/first-served, and the dev really doesn’t want people modding it or selling access. You’ll need a Capcom ID, and you need your account linked to a platform (PSN, Xbox, Steam) before you apply this time. Full information can be found here.

The aim of the Closed Beta Test is for us to monitor the play experience of participants, identify any potential issues, and then address them in order to improve the quality of the game. As such, it is possible that errors may occur during the test that cause the game to freeze or close during gameplay.

The test sessions will use a version of the game still in development. As a result, we cannot guarantee a smooth gameplay experience. Please bear all of this in mind when taking part in the test.

For this second test you can play as Luke, Jamie, Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, Kimberly, Juri, and Ken, with 6 playable stages. Commentary is included, but this version of the beta is not happening on PS4, only on PS5.

Myself and Sean Smith got to play Street Fighter 6 at Capcom HQ a few months ago, and left the hands-on giddy as schoolboys, wishing we could just have kept playing: it was that good. Since the beta, Capcom says it has added options to reduce input delay in the graphics menu, and fixed other bugs that were present.

Street Fighter 6 is coming to Xbox, PC, and PlayStation in 2023.

This is why we shouldn’t be allowed to take a week off doing the podcast. A bumper crop of hosts (four) meets a ridiculous slate of games to discuss (eight!), combined with listener correspondence. This is gonna be a bumper episode. BUMPER!

Chris White is on hand to talk about his recent foray into The DioField Chronicle, which Adam loves just as much as he does. Likewise, Shovel Knight Dig is fresh in the minds of both Adam and Lyle. Immortality has been on the shelf for too long, so a big old discussion about that sits in the mid-point of the games we’ve been playing, but Potion Permit also gets a look in as well.

On top of that, Adam has gone preview mad, having played The Entropy Centre, Street Fighter 6, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose. What more could you want?

After spending some time playing it, we’ve got a juicy Street Fighter 6 gameplay video to share with you all that features all the fighters so far announced.

Myself and Sean Smith recently went hands-on with the game, and while we didn’t get to see anything story related, or any online modes, etc, we did get a healthy dose of Street Fighter 6 gameplay, and we both came away despite our aging years feeling like youngsters again. We chatted excitedly all the way home, musing how we’d go back and play it again tomorrow: it was just that good.

Anyway, Chris White quizzed me on the game in our Street Fighter 6 gameplay video, which comes off the back of Ken being announced for the game. It’s perhaps no shock to know that he’s in the game, but Capcom have lifted the lid and allowed us to show you footage of Ken, Guile, Kimberly, and Juri: and it just so happen that Ken and Juri were my mains in Street Fighter IV.

I have to say, picking up Ken for the first time, muscle memory kicked in and I was doing combos I remembered from SF4 (or thereabouts). Likewise, Juri’s moveset felt right, and on point. I didn’t dislike SF5, I just didn’t love it like I did 4. What I didn’t expect from the hands-on session, however, was for both of us to come away talking about Kimberly and Luke as potential new mains when the game actually comes out.

Kimberly looks like she’ll take some learning, with plenty of crowd control options, while Luke has a hugely speedy fireball attack that’s tricky to dodge, and wouldn’t feel out of place in a Mortal Kombat title. Anyway, I’m going to blather on like an excited schoolboy enough in the video, so I won’t do it any more here. Go read Sean’s far more technical preview (he knows more about the FG-genre than most will ever know), watch the footage, and join me in sitting here patiently waiting for that final game to come out.

Street Fighter 6 is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Seres S|X in 2023.

In its original incarnation, Capcom’s Street Fighter V was much maligned for hitting shelves in what many felt was an incomplete state. A handful of characters and a business model that felt at odds with the spirit of the franchise, it took several years before it finally reached a point where it felt anywhere near representing value for money, but even then there was still that dreaded paywall, and gameplay that for me did not hit the same dizzying heights as the genre re-defining Street Fighter IV, a title that I had spent literal entire years of my life playing online.

Amazingly, even though there are only eight announced fighters, and three backdrops, both my Editor and I came away from Capcom headquarters in full agreement that we would happily drop our hard earned bunce on this embryonic build of Street Fighter 6, just so we could carry on playing it. This feels like a huge upgrade on what went before it, the same way IV came along and gave the series a radical, instantly enjoyable reboot. It combines and expertly builds upon elements of everything great that we love about playing Street Fighter, whilst stripping away or reworking some of the mechanics that may feel prohibitively complex for casual fans.

Street Fighter 6 feels like a huge step forward for a series

I found the front end of SFV to be a mess, a clusterfuck of adverts, confusing menus, and annoyance. Even in this current form, 6 dispenses with clutter offering the simple option of selecting a stage, a fighter, and then getting into the meat and drink of kicking some ass. First of all then, the combatants on offer. Series shotokan mainstays Ryu and Ken are obviously present. They look grizzled, battle-worn, and brimming with old-man strength. Guile still has the extra-AF flat top fade, and the same veteran appearance, whilst Chun-Li is now an elder stateswoman with her time-honoured mixture of speed and unexpected strength. Deadly in the right hands, Korean evildoer and S.I.N taekwondo expert Juri is another old face given a new lease of life.

It will take a while to learn exactly how many, but all of the old timers have new attacks and abilities to get to grips with, while still feeling instantly familiar to anyone that has played any game from The World Warrior onwards. Returning from SFV and almost bridging the gap between the two games is the superb Luke, the newly anointed series mascot of sorts, who here feels absolutely sensational – the agreement between us was that he felt “meaty” – with a real heft and weight to his crushing offence, and an unusually quick projectile.

Street Fighter 6 Jamie

It can be intimidating having to learn a host of new characters, so mercifully we only had to find our feet with two, and what an excellent, diverse pair of brawlers to kick things off with. Jamie is a complex but deadly anomaly who employs a drunken master-style offence, and has a number of swaggering chain combinations to learn. He feels like someone that I will be spending an inordinate amount of time with. Kimberly is a super quick kunoichi, trained at the hands of Final Fight legend Guy, who has an instantly appealing feel and a neon-splattered, 80s graffiti and hip hop influenced aesthetic. She drags the character roster into modernity but in an extremely cool, expertly designed way that will appeal to fans both new and old.

The main draw of SF6 is going to be the Drive system, which is already looking like a genius cross up of different systems drawn from a plethora of modern fighters. There is what one may call a traditional Super meter, which is employed just for your Critical Art supers, although even these have new and hitherto unseen variations and possibilities, thanks to the introduction of Drive. The Drive gauge is central to almost everything that you do. It first and foremost enables you to hit Overdrive variations of your signature moves, just like the EX attacks of old.

Street Fighter 6 Kimberly

A Drive Impact is a beautifully animated, Focus-style blow which can absorb an opponent’s attack, and has a defensive variation called a Drive Reversal that is a handy way of countering to escape a tricky situation such as being pummelled with pressure. Drive Parry is the best and most interesting of all the functions as it enables you to parry attacks much in the same way as Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike or Garou: Mark of the Wolves, but can also be employed permanently by holding down the buttons, making you vulnerable only to throws, or the Drive gauge running out of juice. Drive Rush rounds things out and gives you the ability to dash forward from a Parry or cancellable attack, and adds an extra element of surprise that acts as a form of both defence and attacking possibilities.

You begin each bout with a full Drive stock, with each of the various abilities – and in the case of some characters, their special moves – eating up various denominations of Drive segments. They do regenerate over time or when you land blows on your foe, but once you are out, your fighter enters a state of burnout, slowing them down and preventing use of the many valuable advantages on offer. It makes every match an interesting tactical balancing act, and will deter spamming.

Street Fighter 6 Tasty Steve and James Chen

In a cool nod to the popularity of eSports and the huge fighting game community, SF6 also includes commentary from some real-life luminaries such as Capcom Pro Tour mouthpiece and Sagat doppelganger Jeremy “Vicious” Lopez, fighting game historian James Chen, and EVO alumnus Tasty Steve. Their voices do not detract from the rest of the aural delights, which include excellent brand new character themes and the usual fine array of grunts, thuds and “Hadoken” shouts.

Controls wise I played Street Fighter 6 with a traditional arcade stick, but there is also a simplified control scheme designed presumably for control pads and for newcomers or novices to fighting games that enables easy auto combos and specials employing holding triggers and flicking the analogue sticks. I am all for more accessibility like this, and it certainly hasn’t hurt other superb titles I have played recently like KOF and Guilty Gear. But I get the impression that to truly master this one, you will have to learn the classic control methods to get the best out of the Drive system and all that it offers, due to the high possibility of entering burnout state very quickly if you overdo it on the easy to execute pyrotechnics.

Street Fighter 6 Juri

I felt that we only scratched the surface of what you can really do in Street Fighter 6. I went away and watched more videos and footage, still buzzing with excitement about the possibilities. I noticed that just from eyeing footage of the tricky, fascinating Jamie, that it looks possible to continue a combo chain straight after a Critical Art if done correctly.

Gameplay is beautiful, then. But my lord, it looks phenomenal, too. The wonderful, unmistakably Capcom stylisation is a wonder to behold, with huge and intricately detailed models brimming with personality and smooth as silk animation. The three stages on offer are all-new but bring instantly familiar throwbacks and fan service – such as a grinning Damnd holding court in Metro City, or Guile’s classic aircraft strewn backdrop.

I feel as though even after little over an hour in its clutches, I could pen another few thousand words on Street Fighter 6, such was its impact. It feels like a huge step forward for a series that was, quite frankly, desperate for a reinvention and overhaul. To say that I am this impressed, this early in its lifespan, bodes extremely well for the future. I am already planning on treating myself to a shiny new arcade stick when this one drops.

Street Fighter 6 is due out in 2023 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PS4, and PS5.

Street Fighter 6 was always going to have some fan favourites, but after Juri was only DLC for Street Fighter V, it’s nice to see she’s getting a proper reveal early on, along with Kimberly and the game’s commentators.

Revealed at Evo 2022, Juri is returning from Street Fighter 4, where she was one of my favourite characters to play as. While she wasn’t a massive damage dealer, her speed and fantastic kicks never quite felt replicated again for me in Street Fighter V, so here’s hoping Street Fighter 6 gets it right.

New fighter Kimberly blends together her skills as a ninja with her love for ‘80s pop culture to create a riveting, yet dangerous fighting style. Juri returns as a wicked force and has added a few new tricks to her move set so she can relish in her opponents’ suffering.

Meanwhile, renowned fighting game commentators Tasty Steve and James Chen head to the mic as additional real-time commentary talent. Tasty Steve and James Chen, long time veteran casters on the Capcom Pro Tour circuit, join Vicious and Aru as the latest real-time commentators in Street Fighter 6. Players can listen in as their favourite fighting game commentators narrate the hard-hitting action with easy-to-understand gameplay explanations. Stay tuned for more details on all three Street Fighter 6 game modes – Fighting Ground, World Tour, and Battle Hub – later this year.

Following last week’s Street Fighter 6 reveal at the State of Play broadcast, Capcom has announced the return of the American hero, Guile. Joining other legends like Chun-Li, Luke, and Ryu, and brand new fighter Jamie, Guile returns as tough as ever. He’ll be back with some of his classic moves, along with new attacks that highlight the intense fighting style fans know and love. His moves will include:

 • Somersault Kick (Flash Kick) – The classic backflip kick
 • Sonic Boom – Guile’s main projectile ability
 • Sonic Blade – A stationary aerial slash
 • Sonic Hurricane – A massive aerial slash that lands directly ahead or diagonally upwards
 • Solid Puncher – Fires a flurry of small Sonic Boom projectiles
 • Crossfire Somersault – A brand new Super Art that fires a massive aerial slash followed by a devastating Somersault Kick
