Tango Gameworks and Bethesda has released the Arcade Challenge update for Hi-Fi Rush for free, that adds new modes to play through for fans.

The two new modes for Hi-Fi Rush are BPM Rush! and Power Up! Tower Up! and both require you to have played through the main game before you can get into them. In BPM Rush! mode, you go through fights that get tougher and tougher as the songs speed up, there are three difficulties (easy, normal, EX) with each going up to 200 beats per minute.

Power Up! Tower Up! mode is a bit different, and is remixed version of the existing Rhythm Tower mode, only with randomised enemies and challenges. On top of that, Chai (the main character) starts without any of his upgrades. You have to grab his upgrades between rounds to get back up to your best, but upgrades also carry special traits that will change the next fight, sometimes boosting you, and sometimes making it even harder.

There are also two new enemies that are part of the new update, more rewards; including special attacks, costumes, and a “secret final prize for players who clear all 40 challenges tied to the two new modes”.

We loved Hi-Fi Rush when it was shadow dropped back in January this year, with Chris White scoring it a massive 9.5/10 and saying: “We rarely get surprises like this, and when they’re this good, it helps to cement just how important enjoying games is. Too often the world gets caught up on what developers do wrong, or how a fascination with deep and unnecessary critiquing has become the norm. Instead, we should treat games with more respect. Tango Gameworks has put something out that oozes fun and a good time. The combat is excellent, as is its soundtrack, traversal, and visuals. Try to remember how fortunate we are, and then thank Hi-Fi Rush for being around at a time when we need to let loose now more than ever”.

Just a few days before release, the Redfall launch trailer is here to whet the whistle for the upcoming vampire hunting FPS.

This comes hot on the heels of the preload becoming available as well, on both PC and Xbox Series S|X. Check out the trailer below, which features yet another one of those slow-version covers of a beloved song, this time Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden.

Redfall, Arkane Austin’s unique story-driven FPS that gives players the choice to slay alone or squad up with up to three other friends, is out 2nd May and this launch trailer ramps up the vampire-blasting action.

Set to an exclusive new cover version of the classic Black Hole Sun, the trailer drags our heroes from old town Massachusetts to psychic underworlds and back again in a flurry of gunshots and special powers. In a world where everyone AND their vampire Gods are out to get you, our heroes need every advantage they can muster.

I got to spend a few hours with the game earlier in the year (in March), and it really impressed me. I played on PC, and said: ” Redfall never tells you not to go somewhere, but I found an enemy it was clear I wasn’t ready for just yet. But I’ll be back, I can promise you that. Along with skill trees, a loot system, and what seems like a rich narrative to explore, there are open-world trappings you might expect. Safe houses can be unlocked, and side missions are tackled at your leisure. The verticality and powers of the heroes means that no two missions feel the same. Redfall is dripping with atmosphere, from the timed loot dungeons to the main story missions, I genuinely cannot wait to play more”.

It’s maybe a little later than expected, but the Redfall preload is now available for PC players using the Windows Store, as well as Xbox Series S|X users. While the original Redfall preload was the standard placeholder and took up merely 10mb of space, the game is now downloadable, so you can be ready to start the second it’s available on Tuesday, May 2nd, when it’s released on PC for Steam and Windows Store, as well as Xbox via Game Pass.

How big is the Redfall preload, then?

If you’re looking to use your Game Pass Ultimate subscription, the PC, or rather Windows Store version is a fairly hefty 95gb in size, or specifically, 94.3gb. On Xbox Series X the download is 86gb, plus the 10mb Vampire Hunter Pack, and the 10mb Bite Back Edition content. Interestingly, when actually downloading it on Series X, it says it’s 77.31gb, and not the 86gb the store says it is.

In our preview, I said “There are so many questions I have about Redfall after playing it. I didn’t get a sense of scale for how big or long the game might be, I didn’t get chance to try co-op and see how well everything links up, and I only managed to try out Layla (and Jacob really does look awesome). But now I can firmly say I know what kind of game it is, and Arkane continues to be one of the developers in the industry that have my trust, and I’d be stunned if it didn’t end up being a serious game of the year contender. Is it May yet?”.

Bethesda has announced that the latest TESO add-on content is now available for last-gen and current-gen consoles. The Elder Scrolls Online: Scribes of Fate DLC adds two new dungeons that form the start of the Shadow of Morrowind adventure, and it’s out now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X.

This latest addon also comes with update 37, which is free for all TESO players, and offers “a series of additions and improvements to the game”. You can check out the full patch notes for the update as well as The Elder Scrolls Online: Scribes of Fate on the official forums. Of note, there’s a brand new accessibility feature (screen narration), and an option to hide your shoulders, so you can hide that part of your outfit at an Outfit Station.

Below, we’ve got the official description of the DLC as well as the latest gameplay trailer:

Gather your allies and venture into brand-new four-player PvE dungeons: Bal Sunnar and Scrivener’s Hall. In these dungeons, you discover two unique stories that kick off the larger Shadow Over Morrowind adventure, leading into the upcoming Necrom Prologue and Necrom Chapter release later this year.

The two stories are Bal Sunnar and Scrivener’s Hall, and The Elder Scrolls Online: Scribes of Fate will cost you 1500 crowns from the in-game store, but it’s also available if you have the ESO Plus Membership. Bethesda notes that if your ESO membership lapses, you will lose access to the DLC until you renew or buy it with in-game crowns. There’s a more expensive collector’s bundle available for 4000 crowns which also gets you the DLC as well as  the Antecedent Scholar’s Guar mount, the Blightlord’s Skeever pet, and five Crown Experience Scroll. That collector’s bundle is available from the featured section of the in-game crown store.

To start the DLC you have three options. Firstly you can just teleport into either of the two dungeons using the map, but you can also use the dungeon finder tool. Lastly you can walk walk up to the dungeon entrances within Stonefalls (Ball Sunnar) and The Rift (Scrivener’s Hall) to access the content.

Let’s get this out of the way right now: Redfall has already done enough to convince me it’s going to be fantastic. After playing a few hours, it feels like a combination of all that Arkane has learned from the Dishonored series and Deathloop, but mixed it in with a supernatural narrative and, crucially, some fantastic shooting. There’s been a lot said about what Redfall is or isn’t, but having played it, I can tell you it’s perhaps more familiar than you might think.

To clear up the questions, it’s a first-person shooter that is playable in co-op, but also all by yourself. Of the content I got to explore the story sections feel like I’d perhaps prefer to play solo, but there are optional components in the world Redfall creates that feel like they’d be a blast with friends.

Of the playable characters, I went with Layla because, to be honest with you, the fact she can summon her vampire boyfriend who will go and kick vampire ass for me was too much of a temptation to ignore. Also, the second I realised she could drop a purple spectral elevator that boosted me into the air? Yeah, I was sold. Oh, and that’s upgradable, too, by the way. Rounding out her abilities is an umbrella that acts as a shield, absorbing bullets before thrusting them back at her enemies. She’s a badass.

That said, I almost went with Jacob Boyer, who can summon a ghostly sniper rifle and eliminate multiple foes at once. What I’m getting at is that all of the characters seem viable, and good choices for whichever play style you like. The skill trees seem to allow you to spec towards solo play, or to make you the best teammate around. For example, Layla can easily upgrade her elevator skill so you can place more of them, but she can also spec towards buffs, so that when your pals jump off the lift, they become more powerful while in the air and shooting.

I can’t stress enough how any preconceptions you have about the gunplay in an Arkane-developed title might need to go out of the window. Of the modern titles it has developed, this feels like a shooter first and foremost, with the powers, narrative, and world building from the previous games. That’s not to say the story is an afterthought, and in fact, it’s incredibly intriguing.

The main story mission I got to play involved infiltrating a mansion, and uncovering its secrets. What was most impressive about sneaking around this vampire infected mansion was how the world reacts to you as a player. You can clear everything out if you so choose, looting anything that isn’t nailed down in tried and trusted Bethesda-fashion, but if you do so, the enemies stay gone. But this isn’t a game that wants to tell you what to do either, and finding the objective was about exploration, and not following a marker on-screen.

It took a few moments to actually retrain my brain, because so few titles give this type of freedom. From wandering around internally questioning the game with “well, what now?” running through my brain, I realised the clues were there. Re-reading, the locations are clear, and I whipped round the mansion finding the objects I needed. At no point was I nudged, it was on me to work it out. To be clear again: I was never just following a marker, and while it perhaps shouldn’t be, it was exhilarating to be trusted in a game world like that.

On top of that, despite expecting a huge boss battle, one never came. My reward for exploring and taking my time to navigate through this foreboding mansion was knowledge, and narrative that made me want to find more, and explore more of the Redfall world, and just how the vampires came to take over everything in town.

Speaking of, while there are cultists who worship the blood-suckers, it’s the vampires and the variety of types that are the most interesting. Each of the (many, it’s worth saying) weapons I tried had a stake on the end, because dropping a vampire’s health bar to zero isn’t the end unless you stake them. There were snipers (watchers), and all sorts who posed a genuine challenge at times. Redfall never tells you not to go somewhere, but I found an enemy it was clear I wasn’t ready for just yet. But I’ll be back, I can promise you that.

Bethesda and Xbox has confirmed the new Starfield release date, and it’s September 6th, but you’ll see more pretty soon, as a new “Direct” is happening in June as well.

While we all try to get used to the fact that everyone is just using the Nintendo Direct model, and even the name, a “Starfield Direct” is coming on June 11th. A new trailer was released to showcase the new Starfield release date, which you can check out, below:

Game director Todd Howard explained more at the end of the trailer, saying:

We have poured ourselves into this game and even I’m surprised how much we can pour: it is large. We’re playing the game all the time.

But also, this June we’re gonna bring you into the studio, and give you a deep dive in the game at our Starfield Direct. There’s so much that we still have to show you. The game has many of the hallmarks that you’d expect from us, but it’s also a very unique experience.

And again, thank you all for all your excitement about the game: your support, your comments, we really do read it all. We know you’ve waited a long time to play something new from us. Believe it or not, we’re kinda the same. We miss it, and we really just can’t wait for you all to play it. So thanks, and we’ll see you soon.

The Starfield release date was also confirmed via a YouTube Community Post, simply saying “For all, into the starfield 9.6.23”, which confirmed UK residents at first, thinking the game was coming in June, but not, that’s a US date format: September 6th, 2023.

You’ll want to head South from the Shrine, and over the bridge that crosses the river in front of you. Once you’re on the other side, you’ll want to turn around and drop down (or descend the ladder) to end up lower down, at river level, on a path running next to it. You should then see the Jizo Statue next to the southern wall. Check out the map for the location, just remember to go down lower than street level to find it.

The other Jizo Statue in the Hitani Shrine region can be found in the opposite direction from the shrine. You’ll want to head north and a little bit east too to find it. Head north from the Shrine, over the first small road, and then keep going north over a much larger round. Once you’re in the built-up area on the other side of the road, head east. Then open up your Spectral Vision and you should see the Jizo Statue ahead of you as you progress through the area. For a detailed look at where to find it, check out the map image below.

The Tanuki is hiding on the western side of the area. It is posing as a vending machine at a jaunty angle, so shouldn’t be too hard to spot. Before long you should see a small wooden hut that houses the Jizo Statue. Head for that and interact with it to improve your Water SP level. Once you’re in that area, use Spectral Vision and it should become obvious. You’re looking for a large, bright red Daruma that is difficult to miss. That is because the fog that covers the city stops just before this Tanuki, allowing you to nab it. To reach it early head northwest from the Utagawa Torii Gate and look for the corner of the fog you see. In that area you’re looking for a very obvious large cup of instant noodles that the Tanuki has transformed into. If you can’t find the Tanuki easily, check the map image below for assistance.

The second Tanuki to find in Hitani Shrine region is found by the roadside, on top of a small building surrounded by fencing. From the Hitani Shrine, you’ll want to head south onto the road, and then turn right so you head in a westerly direction. Follow this road until it turns to the right. At that point stop and use your Spectral Vision and you should spot the Tanuki. It has transformed into another Daruma and so is quite easy to see and pick up on Spectral Vision. Your best bet is to take a right as soon as you’ve crossed the river, and then head left into the built-up area when you can, and this should lead you straight to the Statue. It isn’t quite in the far northeastern corner of the map, but it is a fair distance away from the shrine, so you’ll want to make your way in this direction. To find it it’s in a built-up area that’s just east of the main road that runs north through the Chishima region. Follow that main road north until you get to the last right turn before the fog. Take that right turn and then the Jizo Statue is between the buildings on your right. For the exact location, check out the map below.

For the final Jizo Statue in Chishima Shrine area, you’re going to need to explore the east of the region. From the shrine, head east until you hit the main road running north. Follow it north a short distance until it forks off left and right. Take the right fork, and then follow this road for quite a while. If you hit the crossroads area, you have gone too far. You’re looking to be about two-thirds of the way down the road before the crossroads. From there, turn right into a built-up area and use you’re Spectral vision to spot the Jizo Statue. Jizo Statue 1

The first Jizo Satue in Kamio Shrine is a Water Statue. It can be located quite close to the Shrine. You’ll want to head off in a southerly direction, over the first road you come across. From there you’ll want to explore the southwestern part of the following built-up area to locate the Jizo Statue. Check out the map below for the exact location.

The next Jizo Statue is in a more southwesterly direction from the Shrine. This Jizo Statue is a rarer Fire Statue, so well worth finding. From the previous Statue, you’re going to want to head west, over the road, into the following built-up area. From there explore the southerly part of it, near the road to locate where the Jizo Statue is. For a more detailed guide to where the Statue is, check out the map image below.

Jizo Statue 3

For the final Jizo Statue – another Water Statue – you’re going to want to continue your journey in a southwesterly direction. From the previous Jizo Statue continue southwest. You’ll enter a built-up area whose southwest point converges as two roads meet. That corner is the area where this Jizo Statue is located so investigate there with your Spectral Vision. The only Jizo Statue in the Yamaki Shrine region is a Wind Jizo Statue. And it isn’t that hard to find either. That’s because it’s actually incredibly close to the Shrine. From the Shrine location, you’re going to want to move slightly westwards on the map. If you reach the first road you’ve actually gone too far! As it’s on the eastern side of the road. It shouldn’t be too hard to find positioned next to a blue bike shed and in front of some cones. But if you are struggling, then check out the map image below for more detailed location information.

Onten Shrine has four Jizo Statues for you to locate. They can be difficult to come across on your own, but fear not, help is at hand. Check out our guide below for some additional help

Jizo Statue 1

The first Jizo Statue in the Onten Shrine region is a Water Statue. The interesting thing about this Jizo Statue is that you can actually find it well before you unlock the Onten Shrine. You can actually get this once you have access to the Utagawa area of the game in Chapter 3. From there observe the strange upside-down “L” shape of the Shrine area. That is separated by a junction of two main roads. On the corner of those roads is the Jizo Statue, which is quite easy to find. For the exact location, check out the map below.

Jizo Statue 2

The next Jizo Statue in the Onten Shrine region is much closer to the Shrine than the first. For this Jizo Statue, you’ll want to head in a north by northwest direction. Head north directly from the Shrine, and cross over the road. You’ll then need to explore the built-up area beyond to find the Statue. it’s nestled in between some larger buildings in the centre of the area. Use Spectral Vision or check out the map image below to help locate it.

Jizo Statue 3

For the next Jizo Statue, you’re going to want to head west from the Shrine, and slightly south also. You’re looking for the area where the main road to the south of the Shrine meets the underpass. And in the corner, there is the Jizo Statue just before you go under the highway. If you follow the main roads south, then west from the Shrine you should find it easily. There’s a map reference below if you need further assistance.

Jizo Statue 4

The final Jizo Statue in the Onten Shrine region is also a Wind Statue. This Statue won’t be available right away as you’ll need to banish some fog from other Shrines to access it. However, once the whole of the Onten Shrine area is free of fog, you’ll want to head to the far South of the area. You want to head down the minor road south that is sandwiched between the two larger southern roads. As you head south down this road, you’ll encounter a turning on your left, and the Jizo Statue is here on your right. Check out the map below for more details on the exact location.

The first Jizo Statue in Jirigaoka Shrine region is quite easy to spot. If you follow the path north as part of the Main Mission: Agony then you’ll likely encounter this Shrine naturally. You’ll find it next to the main path as you explore the forest area as you head towards the pillar of light’s heart. If, however, you’ve accidentally missed it and can’t find it, then you’re looking for an area roughly northwest from the Shrine itself but away from the western fog barrier. This final Jizo Statue in the Kirigaoka Shrine area is also found in the large forest near the shrine. It’s far northwest of the Shrine itself, but with such a large forest area and few landmarks, it can be easy to miss and difficult to describe its location. The best way to navigate to it is to say that it can be found close to where a Kodama Yokai spirit is located. In fact, if you head southeast a short distance from the Kodama you should stumble across the Jizo Statue no problem. The first Jizo Statue in the Yashin Shrine region is a Fire Statue. It’s quite close to the Shrine itself so is quite easy to locate. From the Shrine Fast Travel point, climb out exit the area. You’ll want to head in a southwesterly direction from the Shrine gate, as the Jozu Statue can be found on the side of the road on the corner of the area where the shrine is located. You’ll want to head northeast of the Shrine to find it.  Climb out of the building area where the Shrine Gate is and head northeast across the main road you see in front of you. Keep going until you reach a corner of buildings preventing you from going any further. Be careful because there will be Visitors. Check behind some bushes for the Jizo Statue. The first Jizo Statue in the Namita Shrine region might be the first one you actually find. It’s located in the southeast direction of the Shrine itself. This Jizo Statue is found to the far West of the Shrine, but slightly further north than due west. You’ll find it in a small alleyway next to some boxes, just off from a road. The easiest way to describe how to find it is to embark on the Deep Cleaning Side Mission. Then, when you have to Enter the Bathhouse upon discovering it, pause. On the other side of the road, down the side of a building is the Jizo Statue you are looking for. If you’re still struggling, check out the map image below.

The final Jizo Statue in Namita Shrine area is actually quite close to the Shrine itself. You’ll need to head in a northerly direction from the Shrine. There’s a small side street you can walk down and it’s to the side there. For more info, see the map image below.

It’s quite difficult to describe the exact area, but it’s roughly straight southeast from the Matusmi Shrine as well as being directly East of the Hirokawa Shrine. Drawing imaginary lines from these Shrines should help pinpoint the rough location and then you should be able to use Spectral Vision to find it. If you can’t quite find the right area, then check the map image below. It will show the exact location of the Jizo Statue.

From the Shrine face West and jump down to the road. From there proceed a short distance forward, and you’re looking for a pathway off to your left in between some buildings. Careful of any Visitors that are in the area. Proceed down that path and the Statue is in front of you. If you can’t find it, check out the map image below.

The sole Jizo Statue in the Morite Shrine region is a Wind Statue. To find it you’re going to need to head quite away from the Shrine itself. You need to head off in a northeasterly direction away from the Shrine. The easiest way to describe its general area is to hover over the Shrine on the map to pull up the blue area of influence it covers. Zoom right out on the map and you’ll see the full area. The general area you’re looking for is the top-right corner of that area. You’re looking for a corner where a road meets a pathway, and the Juzo Statue itself is just to the side on the path. If you’re unsure of where it is still, then check the image below to find it quickly.

The first Jizo Statue in the Utagawa Torii Gate region is to the south of the Shrine. If you highlight the Shrine on the map, and zoom out so you see the entire area of the Shrine, then the area we are looking for is the bottom left corner of that remit. Stick a map marker down there and then head to that location and stick on your Spectral Vision and you should find it just away from the road. The next Jizo Statue is also a Wind Statue. For this one, you’ll want to head north from the Torii Gate. Then a little east as well. Go north from the Torii Gate all the way until you reach the river. Now if you turn right and proceed down that road, the Jozu Statue will be in the buildings to your right. Investigate them using your Spectral Vision to find the exact location amongst the buildings. If you’re struggling to pinpoint the location, check out the map image below.

The next Jizo Statue is also a Fire Statue. This Jizo Statue is to the south of the Torii Gate. To find it Fast Travel to the Torii Gate and turn around and head south up the steps. Cross over the road, and go up the road sloping up ahead of you. As the road takes a little kink to the left, leave the road to the left and head into a green area in the corner. Here you will find the Jizo Statue waiting for you down some steps to the left. Check out the map image below for more detail.

The final Jizo Statue in the Utagawa Torii Gate area can be found in the far northeast of the area. It actually cannot be prayed at initially, as fog from later areas cover the Statue. So you’ll need to progress the story a bit and unlock the additional Torii gates to the northeast of Utagawa and cleanse them to get this one. Once you have, head to the far northeastern tip of the area, over the water and you should see this Jizo Statue fairly easily in front of a pillar. Initially, this Jizo Statue feels like it should belong to a different Shrine given how far it is away, but when you hover over the Shrine on the map you’ll see the large expanse of the map that it covers. The Jizo Statue in question is found to the far northeast of the shrine, pretty much on the edge of its remit. It’s positioned around the back of a building away from the road. For reference, it’s slightly northeast of Shibuya Central Hospital. If you’re still struggling, check out the map image below to find it in no time.

Throughout your adventures in Ghostwire Tokyo you will come across numerous Jizo Statues. These small statues are incredibly important as praying at one will increase your SP. SP is used to cast your Ethereal Weaving techniques, which along with your bow are your main source of offense throughout the game. As such keeping your SP levels topped up throughout the game is crucial. But with 52 Jizo Statues to find throughout Tokyo it can be tricky to find them all. Plus some are placed in pretty hidden locations. But fear not, because here at God is a Geek we’ve pulled together a handy guide to help you out. Read on to find every Jizo Statue in Ghostwire Tokyo

What SP rewards do I get?

Each Jizo Statue will reward you with a permanent increase to your SP count in either your Wind, Fire, or Water Weaving abilities. What determines which one you receive is the colour of the statue you find. There are 30 Wind Jizo Statues, 7 Fire Jizo Statues, and 15 Water Jizo Statues. Each Statue found increases your SP of that element by one.

Jizo Statue 1

The first Jizo Statue in the Shiroyama Shrine region is quite easy to find as it’s located very close to the Shrine itself. Its exact location is in a southwest direction from the Shrine, but there’s actually an easier way to find it. Use Fast Travel to warp to Shiroyama Shrine. Then don’t enter the Shrine, but turn immediately right and follow the first right on the road you come across. Not far down the road you’ll see some yellow crates on your left, beyond those is the Shrine. Check the map image below for the exact location.

Jizo Statue 2

Fire Statue

Reward:

Fire SP +1

This Jizo Statue will likely be your first Fire Jizo Statue, making it super important to find, given how rare and powerful Fire SP is. To find this Jizo Statue, you’re going to want to make your way east from the Shrine area. Move down the small road, and then as it joins the larger one keep heading east. Then when you reach the end of the road (and you can see the highway ahead), stop and double back around to your left into an alleyway. There’ll likely be some visitors here to deal with, but once you have, this Fire Jizo Statue is your reward. Check the map below for the exact location.

To find this Tanuki, you’ll need to head to the far south of the Kuo Shrine area, beyond the highway. In fact, you’ll want to find the Shibuara Park landmark, as that is where you can find this Tanuki. Once there you’re looking for three panda playground rides, and the Tanuki is the one in the middle. If you are struggling to find Shibuara Park, then look on the map below for its location.

Tanuki 2

Emote: Umbrella

The second Tanuki in Kuo Shrine area is one of the highest Tanukis you’ll find. It’s atop a tall building east of the Shrine. Head in that direction until you have pretty much crossed the highway. From there you’ll want to explore the built-up area to the south, and the building you’re looking for is a tall one on the northeast corner of the block. You should notice a stairwell on the side you can use to get up there easily. Just watch out for some Visitors to deal with at the top. Check out the map image below for more details.

Not far in to Chapter 2 of Ghostwire Tokyo you will come across a side mission asking you to hunt for a number of Tanuki scattered across Tokyo. They will be disguised as everyday objects, but will have a tell – their tails will be flapping away for you to see. So when you spot an object with a flapping tail, you know it’s a Tanuki in disguise. With the scale of Ghostwire Tokyo, and only 25 Tanuki to find, tracking them down can prove very tricky. But we here at God is a Geek have got you covered. Check out our guide below to start finding all the Tanuki in the game.

Where to find the Tanuki Hunting quest

To kick off your Tanuki journey, you’ll need to initiate and complete the Tanuki Hunting Side Mission in the game. This can be started once you have cleared the Shiroyama Shrine. Then you will see a quest-giver in the shape of a Tanuki. Interact with him and you will start the mission. Your quest is to find the Tanuki hiding somewhere in the Shrine itself.

Once you have located him, return back to the quest giver, to complete the Side Mission, and begin in earnest your real quest to track down all the Tanuki in Ghostwire Tokyo.

Ghostwire Tokyo Tanuki Shiroyama Shrine details

Shiroyama Shrine has three Tanuki for you to try and find. And it can be difficult to find them without any help. Check out our guide below for some additional help

Tanuki 1

Emote: Karate Form I

This is the first Tanuki that you will need to find in Ghostwire Tokyo. It is the Tanuki that you are asked to look for as part of the Tanuki Hunting Side Mission. You are told that the Tanuki is hiding somewhere within the grounds of Shiroyama Shrine, but it will be posing as something else. You need to look almost directly west of the Shrine gate itself, but come away from the path. A look around (with the help of your Spectral Vision too) should show the Tanuki posing as a Chagama. You can interact with it to earn your reward. From here hand in the Side Mission back at the Tanuki who gave you it, to initiate the larger collectathon for the game.

Tanuki 2

Rewards:

Emote: Shrine Offering

For this Tanuki you will need to get up high. So your best bet is to use a Tengu to get up to the rooftops. This Tanuki is hidden far to the southwest of the Shrine location, so make your way in that direction. The building you are looking for is a tall one with a large red advertising board on the top. See the above screenshot for context. You should see the small torii gate that is actually the Tanuki hidden just in front of it. If you’re having trouble finding the building then, check out the screenshot below for the exact location

Tanuki 3

Emote: Punk Squat

For this Tanuki you will need to go directly southeast from the Shrine for quite a distance until you reach the highway. You will need to look under the highway for this Tanuki. You’re looking for a vending machine on the central reservation of the road. If you’re still struggling, the wagging tail should give it away. If you need further assistance, then refer to the screenshot below for the exact map location. Just remember that despite appearances on the map, this Tanuki is below the highway, not on top of it.

This Tanuki in the Yashin Shrine area can be quite elusive but don’t worry we’ve tracked it down for you. To find it, you’re going to want to head southeast from the Shrine area. Once you hit the road cross over it. If you hit the building site first, you’ve veered off too much in an easterly direction and should head more south. When you have crossed over the road look straight ahead and you’ll see some traffic signs lying about. Just beyond the ones strewn on the floor is the Tanuki, with his sign upright that you can examine. If you’re having trouble locating this Tanuki, then refer to the map screenshot below. It shows you exactly where you need to go to nab this Tanuki.

If you’re looking for the sole Tanuki in Morite Shrine area, then you’ll first need to be at street level to find it. You’ll want to head east from the Shrine, almost to the eastern limit of the area to find it.You’ll find it just to the southeast of a main road intersection. You can find it on top of a very low building, posing as an antenna. It shouldn’t be too difficult to find, but if you are struggling, then take a look at the map screenshot below. That will detail the exact location of the Tanuki. Use that and you shouldn’t have any trouble nabbing the Morite Tanuki.

Tanuki 1

Emote: Graceful Landing

This Tanuki is up high, as it has chosen to transform itself into a great big billboard. So you’ll need to use Tengu to gain some altitude before you can find this one. In terms of location you want to follow the road east from the Torii Gate for the area. If you hit a T junction in the road going north and south, you’ve gone too far. Once you’re in the approximate area, get up high. Then using your Spectral Vision look for a large billboard that pings up on your sensors. It should be easy to spot, but if not, take a look at the map below to see the exact location.

Tanuki 2

Emote: Prayer

This Tanuki is arguably the toughest one to find in the game because you can’t really see its tail at all and it’s disguised as a vending machine in an area of vending machines so doesn’t look out of place. To find it, head south from the Torii gate and up the steps. Cross over the road, and keep heading south up the slope. After the little left then right kink, keep on the road for a little longer before heading right into an alley, you’ll know it’s the correct one if you see a load of vending machines. The Tanuki is then on your left at the end of the line of vending machines. Check out the map image below to see a more detailed view of where it’s hiding.

Tanuki 3

Emote: Love and Peace

Whilst this Tanuki is in Utagawa Torii Gate area, you’ll find it much quicker to access it by traveling from the Yamaki Shrine area to the north. From that shrine head south down the road that runs down the east side of the Shrine. When you get to the water, drop down onto the path at water level, on the northern side. Look to your left and in front of you, you should see a door leading to nowhere. This is the Tanuki. If you can’t quite track it down, use the map image below.

The first Tanuki in the Akisawa Shrine region is mimicking a miniature Torii Gate. Firstly the Tanuki is on ground level so you won’t need any Tengu support. Head roughly northwest from the Shrine itself and you’ll want to look down some quite tight alleyways in between some buildings to find it. If you’re struggling for the exact location, then take a look at the map screenshot below to help you.

The second Tanuki to find in Akisawa Shrine region is found very high up on the top of a building. The closest landmark to the Tanuki is the Shibuya Central Hospital, so Fast Travel there if you can to make this quicker. From there, Tengu up to the top of the buildings on the same side of the road as the hospital. The Tanuki is hidden atop the building just to the south of the hospital. For the Namita Shrine Tanuki, you’re going to want to head west from the Shrine gate. The Tanuki is in the same built-up area as the Shrine, so if you hit a road you have gone too far. The Tanuki is on a rooftop, so you’ll need to nab a Tengu to gain some altitude to get up there. You’re looking for a building that’s not far from the road on the western edge of the built-up area. You should see the Tanuki up there disguised as, well, a Tanuki statue. If you can find it, then check out the map below for the exact location.
