The post Street Fighter 6 first DLC character Rashid is out now appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

As revealed a few weeks back, Street Fighter 6 just got a bigger roster, with 19th character Rashid being added via DLC.

Available on all formats, you can grab Rashid via the year 1 character pass, by having the Deluxe Edition of Street Fighter 6, or the Ultimate Edition, or just by using 350 fighter coins to unlock him, which will include his outfit 1, and colours 1 & 2. If you’d rather not try him via those methods, you can also use an hour long rental fighter ticket, which you can get via the in-game fighting pass.

Rasid will be eligible for competition use at Evo 2023 (August 4th-6th), as well, so expect to see him in action there. If you do unlock him, as well as the usual ways of playing as a fighter, he’s also going to be part of the World Tour campaign where you can get his moveset. You’ll need to have completed the World Tour mode to access the new missions that have been added “featuring the Mike Haggar Memorial Stadium Tournament and Suval’hal Arena”.

Here’s a list of some of his moves:

  • Arabian Cyclone: A new special move that performs a spinning kick and conjures up a whirlwind; can be used as a standalone blow, or transitioned into Rolling Assault or Wing Stroke
  • Arabian Skyhigh: A new double jump move that keeps opponents guessing on where Rashid will land from the air
  • Super Rashid Kick: Level 1 Super Art that unloads a devastating kick while soaring forward and up through the air
  • Ysaar: Previously Rashid’s V-Trigger move in Street Fighter™ V, this Level 2 Super Art summons a slow-moving whirlwind projectile that can be used to pressure opponents
  • Altair: Rashid’s Level 3 Super Art calls forth a tempest that lifts opponents before he rains down on them with a monsoon of powerful blows

Street Fighter 6 is out now for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC.

Capcom hosted a special presentation for Exoprimal that shared plenty of new details for their online team-based action game. During the Exoprimal Showcase, Director Takuro Hiraoka offered an early look at upcoming seasonal updates, crossovers with Monster Hunter and Street Fighter 6, ‘Final Mission Selection’ for Dino Survival, and more.

When Exoprimal launches later this week, it’ll feature a mode within Dino Survival called Final Mission Selection that offers three matchmaking options. PvP games sees two rival squads of Exofighters go head-to-head at the end of matches to decide who wins or gets “fed to the raptors.” PvE don’t involve direct PvP, but require speed to complete all objectives first in order to survive. The random option provides “the adventurous with a small experience bonus,” with fighters free to change preference settings to mix things up at any time.

As for the post-launch roadmap, the Exoprimal Showcase offered up plenty of interesting information for what fans can expect in the future. Season 1 begins when the game launches on Friday, with a brand new game mode commencing two weeks later on July 28 called ‘Savage Gauntlet.’ The new mode will challenge teams of five players with late PvE missions rotating weekly and can be replayed for higher rankings and rewards.

On August 17, Exoprimal will feature its first major title update including 10 Alpha variant Exosuits, with the alternate designs featuring completely different weapons from their standard counterparts. Season 2 will kick off in October, and includes a Street Fighter 6 collaboration, a new map and Final Mission, and more rigs and modules.

Finally, in January 2024, Season 3 begins and sees Beta variants of Exosuits, a brand new enemy called the Neo Triceratops, and a collaboration with Monster Hunter. You can watch the Exoprimal Showcase below:

Capcom has revealed that Rashid will be the first DLC character added to Street Fighter 6, and he’s coming to the game on July 24th, adding even more content to the World Tour mode, as well as everything else.

In the Street Fighter 6 story mode (World Tour), once you’ve grabbed the DLC, he’ll now be a mentor for you to learn his moveset from, and apply to your custom avatar, and of course there will be story cut-scenes just like with every other character. In Fighting Ground, Rashid is the 19th playable character, and in Battle Hub there will be Rashid-based gear, emotes, and more through what Capcom is calling this month’s “Rashid Arrives” fighting pass.

Let’s take a look at his trailer, below, and note he first appeared in Street Fighter V:

Here’s the moveset for Rashid, from the press release:

  • Arabian Cyclone: A new special move that performs a spinning kick and conjures up a whirlwind; can be used as a standalone blow, or transitioned into Rolling Assault or Wing Stroke
  • Arabian Skyhigh: A new double jump move that keeps opponents guessing on where Rashid will land from the air
  • Super Rashid Kick: Level 1 Super Art that unloads a devastating kick while soaring forward and up through the air
  • Ysaar: Previously Rashid’s V-Trigger move in Street Fighter™V, this Level 2 Super Art summons a slow-moving whirlwind projectile that can be used to pressure opponents
  • Altair: Rashid’s Level 3 Super Art calls forth a tempest that lifts opponents before he rains down on them with a monsoon of powerful blows

To get Rashid in Street Fighter 6 you’ll need to own the Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, or Year 1 Character Pass, though you can also try him out with a one hour Rental Fighter ticket that you can get via the in-game Fighting Pass.

Street Fighter 6 is out now for PC, Xbox Series S|X, and PlayStation 5.

During the Xbox Games Showcase Extended, Capcom unveiled a deeper look at the PvE mode for Exoprimal, called Savage Gauntlet. The co-op mode wasn’t the only reveal, however, as Capcom also showed off new Exosuit variants that’ll be coming to Exoprimal via post-launch updates.

There will also be another open beta test which will be happening later this week, so players can get in on that action from June 15th (June 16th UK time, 1am) until June 18th. You’ll need a Capcom ID to participate, so bare that in mind.

Savage Gauntlet is a new game mode where five-player teams take on PvE scenarios that rotate weekly. These limited-time missions are late-game content that offer a higher level of challenge. Exofighters are encouraged to take leveled-up Exosuits into these combat tests and equip Module power-ups. Savage Gauntlet presents squads across the world with the same objective and the Exoprimal community is invited to vie for the fastest completion time. The missions are replayable and groups are welcome to come back and try new strategies to achieve higher rankings and even earn rewards

As part of the post-launch content map, Exoprimal will be getting alpha variant Exosuits. These are variations on the normal suits with different weapons. For example Deadeye usually has an assault rifle, but the alpha variant has burst fire and a shotgun. Here’s the full list:

  • Deadeye Alpha: Burst Fire
  • Zephyr Alpha: Energy Chakram
  • Barrage Alpha: Rocket Hop
  • Vigilant Alpha: Marksman
  • Roadblock Alpha: Fortress Shield
  • Krieger Alpha: Charge Shotgun
  • Murasame Alpha: Frost Glaive
  • Witchdoctor Alpha: Duality Beam
  • Skywave Alpha: Thunderclap
  • Nimbus Alpha: Double Barrel

We had a chance to play the game not so long ago, and Mick really enjoyed it, saying: “Ultimately, this is Capcom’s answer to the live service model and as such, it’s probably going to do fine. Capcom will support it with content and season passes, and if you disengage your logic motors there’s a damn fun experience to be had (though of course the build we played is not final, and balance changes could happen between now and launch). The accents are pretty awful all round and there’s no point in trying to make it all make sense. Exoprimal is simply chaotic, cathartic fun, of a kind that we just don’t get much anymore, and I’m excited to see more of it when it launches”.

Exoprimal is coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox (and Game Pass) on July 14th, 2023.

During the Capcom Showcase, the developer unveiled one surprise announcement: Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, coming in 2024.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy includes three games: Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice, and will be coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam, Windows).

Check out the reveal trailer, below.

The Capcom Showcase unveiled new features coming to Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy that take Apollo’s trials and tribulations to a new level with the help of Phoenix Wright and Athena Cykes! Players can now experience the courtroom in full HD in seven languages, including Japanese, English, French, German, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. Voice recordings are available for these languages as well!

This new trilogy collection follows on from The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles released in 2021, which Lyle scored a 9.5/10 and said: “I had very little to complain about during my time with The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. Occasionally I’d struggle to spot a contradiction or how to advance an investigation, but never to the point of frustration. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is simply the best game in a series I adore. There’s a huge amount of content, and it has the most memorable & charming characters out there. Anybody with even a passing interest in adventure games or visual novels needs to play this game”.

This Trilogy is the fourth, fifth, and sixth game in the series, so it seems Capcom is slowly remastered or rereleasing all of them, and along with Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, it seems a superb time to be a fan of visual novels/detective games.

Ace Attorney Trilogy is coming to PC (Windows, Steam), PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2024.

The post Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a great updated gem | Hands-on preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

There you are, slumped over in a junkyard, with no air left in your lungs and no life left in your body. You’re dead, yet there’s still a spark within you that clings to the forgotten memories of who you were and why you were killed in cold blood. Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective was a little gem on the Nintendo DS that was praised for its creativity and animation, and it’s now getting a HD remaster. We got to play a demo of it, and by all accounts it’s as bizarre as it ever was, but everyone loves a bit of crazy every now and again, right?

From what I’ve seen so far, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective has a vastly improved resolution, and what took place across two screens on the DS is now comfortably viewable on one screen. Even now over ten years later, it’s a wonderful puzzler that requires a bit of thinking in order to solve the challenges put before you. As Sissel, you have to find out why you were killed, who you were, and what is going on in the city. The thing is, you only have one night to do so.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective Lynne

Before you even start to begin working all of that out, you must save a young red-headed woman from the same fate you suffered. A hitman named Jeego is intent on gunning her down, and by using the environment, you must possess a whole manner of objects to stop that from happening. While there’s only one way to solve each puzzle, there’s still plenty of creativity in how you do it. I possessed a bicycle, a bowl of donuts, a projector, and Christmas-themed mobile with a flying Santa Claus in my time with it, all in the efforts to stop more people from dying.

It’s bonkers and shouldn’t work, but it does. As you play through, you’ll start to unravel some of the smaller mysteries within the demo, but it’s clear there’s a much bigger conspiracy at hand. Gameplay consists of moving around certain objects by activating ‘Trick Time,’ switching between the real world and the ghost world, and as long as you’re close enough to the next item, you’re able to switch into it. Certain actions can move objects to allow this to happen, all playing into the greater puzzle. Once possessed, you can switch back to the real world to activate it.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective Trick Time

This can cause a distraction or reveal a new item to possess, offering various ways to move about and keep the puzzles from remaining repetitive. In certain circumstances, you can replay previous events in a ‘4 Minutes Before Death’ scenario that has you trying to beat the clock in order to change the fates of previously murdered characters, such as a fluffy little Pomeranian called Missile. These sections push you to think on your feet and are also more layered than I previously expected.

There’s also the ability to travel through phone lines to reach new areas, but at present these are scripted and don’t necessarily allow you to deviate, at least in the demo I played. If you’re stuck trying to work out who all the characters are and how they fit into the narrative, you can check out your journal to read excerpts about them, giving you the opportunity to catch your breath and remind you what the hell is going on. It’s a crazy story, but one that kept me interested.

The characters are interesting and the dialogue is occasionally funny, if a little silly. Coming from Shu Takumi, the creator of the Ace Attorney series, dialogue is expected to be a touch choppy and unintentionally humorous, but I loved it in its own quirky way. Bringing that pedigree of puzzle and game design over from the series is clear and present in every facet of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, and by the time the demo was over, I desperately wanted to keep on playing, which is a testament to how fun this game is, even now. It’s a bit heavy on dialogue, but the music is wonderful, and with a lot more to look forward to, I’ll be back and ready to play come final release.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox, and Switch on June 30th.

Capcom has announced that Ryu and Guile from Street Fighter 6 will be making an appearance in upcoming dino shooter, Exoprimal.

Exoprimal is due to release on July 14th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X, and it’s also coming to Game Pass for PC, Console, and Cloud, and this new announcement will likely entice a few new fans in, since Street Fighter 6 has done so well critically, and with players.

Ryu and Guile from Street Fighter 6, then, will be donning exosuit skins that you use in Exoprimal to attack and fend off the dinosaur invasion. Check out the trailer below, and the official word from the press release.

The Exoprimal x Street Fighter 6 collaboration transforms Ryu and Guile into Exosuit skins players can equip when hitting the streets of Bikitoa Island. Keep on alert for future announcements on a combo of other Street Fighter™-themed cosmetic items Exofighters can take into the wargames this autumn. More crossovers between Exoprimal other Capcom titles are also in the works, so stay tuned!

Exoprimal is an online, team-based action game pitting humanity’s futuristic Exosuit technology against history’s most ferocious beasts – dinosaurs. Set in 2040, players are pulled into wargames orchestrated by the advanced A.I. Leviathan. In the main game mode Dino Survival, teams of five Exofighters race to complete objectives while fending off hordes of dinosaurs to survive. Each match is different from the last, and players can swap between Exosuits at any time and change their tactics as new challenges arise. Along the way, players will unlock story sequences and earn rewards to customize their Exosuits.

Mick recently had a chance to preview Exoprimal, and really enjoyed it. He said that it’s “simply chaotic, cathartic fun, of a kind that we just don’t get much anymore, and I’m excited to see more of it when it launches”. If you’ve ever wanted to do a Hadoken into a T-Rex’s face, this seems like maybe the only opportunity you’re gonna get.

Exoprimal is coming to PC and consoles on July 14th.

The post Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Street Fighter 6 features a wide cast of characters in its World Tour, and although it can be straightforward, chapter 11 is a confusing, provoking the question: Street Fighter 6 Thrasher, where are you?

Chapter 11-1 is particularly strange because, until now, you’ve always had a pink quest marker showing you where to go. Suddenly, however, Capcom decided to make you do detective work, and because it could be hours since you last saw Damnd, it’s easy to forget which locations he might be, and even if you do know, it might not trigger properly.

So without further ado, here’s how you find Thrasher Damnd in Street Fighter 6 World Tour, Chapter 11-1.

Street Fighter 6 Thrasher Step 1: Daytime, go to Abigail’s

Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide

The last time you saw Thrasher, he was at Abigail’s Scrap Metal, and while he actually isn’t there right now, you need to go here during the daytime to start the quest off properly.

Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide

You can see the location of the scrap metal building via the image above. Speak to Mad Gear Elissa and she’ll explain he’s asleep during the gay (“genius”) so you need to head to your hideout and switch day to night. Then revisit Abigail’s scrap metal at night. You will have to fight off or avoid waves of the Mad Gear gang, then speak to Mad Gear Butterfly who will tell you he’s “hangin’ out on the roof, like usual”.

Step 2: Back to the roof, where it all started

Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide

At night, you’ll find the ladder you should know quite well in Downtown, Center Street. Elissa is next to it, and if you go up the ladder you’ll find everyone’s favourite Mad Gear leader, Thrasher Damnd.

Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide

It’s worth noting that we experienced a bug where the quest icon would update, but Damnd wouldn’t actually spawn in. You can either save, exit, then load back in, or run around a bit and he’ll appear before your eyes, ready to explain what he wants next.

Step 3: Where is the Crow Gang?

Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide

You’d be forgiven for asking “the what what?”, because in our playthrough we hadn’t spotted a single Crow Gang member until we got to this mission and went to find them. You’ll need to run or fast travel to the spot in the map below (the green arrow), which is where you’ll find the Crow Gang hangout. It’s also important to note it must be night time.

Street Fighter 6: Find Thrasher | World Tour Chapter 11 guide

Go here, speak to the the guard at the opening to the event, and fight your way through (optional, but good XP for higher level fighters is available here) to speak to the boss of the Crow Gang. That will then send you on your way to Nayshall, and you’ve completed the first part of Chapter 11. Well done!

Lily is another member of the Thunderfoot tribe to feature in Capcom’s popular fighting series, and you’ll be able to unlock her as a mentor in the Street Fighter 6 World Tour mode. She has a quick and devastating moveset which can aid you as you begin to craft your own style, so we’ve put together a guide which will show you how to unlock Lily in Street Fighter 6 World Tour.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour: How to start the quest?

On the corner of Central Avenue – Downtown – North, you’ll meet a character called Ana (Level 10) who gives you the quest called ‘The Spirit Guide.’ It’s a relatively simple quest and can be unlocked relatively early in World Tour. You’ll have to retrieve the “stolen item from the Canary Crate member in Chinatown – Hong Hu Lu” during the day.”

Street Fighter 6 Lily The Spirit Guide

How do I complete the quest?

To complete the quest, head to Chinatown and turn right down the alley to the right of where Chun-Li is standing. After a relatively easy fight with a guy called Zimo (Level 13), he’ll give you the stolen item needed. Once recovered, head back to Ana and she’ll allow you to travel to Mexico via World Map on your smart phone.

Street Fighter 6 Lily World Tour Ana

How do I get Lily as a mentor?

Upon arrival, you’ll try and talk to an older fellow on a chair to no avail. Lily will then arrive in style to tell you he is Singing Wolf, “the most respected of all shaman.” After he whispers to her something about an evil pest, she’ll start a fight with you after getting out her impressive weapons. Once the fight ends, she’ll realise you’re not so bad. Talk to her again and ask to be her student. This will start another cutscene, followed by her agreeing to become your mentor.

Street Fighter 6 features a ton of new and old characters that you can meet and train with, and one such character in World Tour is Manon. She has a penchant for flare and fame, however, her style can be one of the most fluid and powerful on offer. We’ve put together a guide on how to unlock Manon in World Tour, so read on to have her as your mentor in Street Fighter 6.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour: How to start the quest?

You’ll find the side quest by naturally playing through the story until you meet her agent Oscar who’s stood at the bottom of the stairs between the Drippin’ Style outfit store and Style Lab Beauty Salon. The quest itself is Level 20, so you won’t be able to access it too early, however, we found it during Chapter 8 of the game when we were Level 23. He’ll tell you he’s looking for “beautiful boys with adorable eyes” to go to France and get “hurled into the ground headfirst.” Sounds appealing, right?

Street Fighter 6 Manon Meet Oscar

How do I complete the quest?

After you’ve spoken to Oscar, the side quest called ‘Extra’ unlocks. To complete the quest, you need to “put on a judo gi.” This outfit consists of a judo gi top and bottom, and can be purchased in Drippin’ Style for a total of 10,800 zenny. Put on the outfit and go back to Oscar. He’ll then sweep you off your feet and take you to France where you’ll meet Manon for the first time.

Street Fighter 6 Manon Judo Gi

How do I get Manon as a mentor?

After you arrive in France and watch a rather glorious cutscene, you’ll have to fight a couple of extras. Once done, Oscar will talk to you and tell you Manon is busy. She’ll interrupt and ask you to show her what you’ve got. Once you’ve fought her, she’ll then become your mentor. Hey presto, you can now study under the tutelage of the French actress!

The post Street Fighter 6 | How to use a fightstick and controller at the same time appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

With Street Fighter 6 being released, one of the things that might confused people is the Battle Hub. For example, in the Battle Hub you can walk around in a 3D world and interact with things, like in World Tour, but also sit down for 1v1 fights against other real people. To that end, those who prefer to use a fightstick might be confused in Street Fighter 6. Luckily for those of that are like this, there is a way to play Street Fighter 6 with both a fightstick and controller (wireless) at the same time.

The thing is, the game actually does tell you this, but it’s a “first time” message you get when loading into the battle hub for the first time. This means that you could easily miss how to use a fightstick and controller at the same time in Street Fighter 6 because you’re buttoning through the tutorials to get into the action. So luckily for you, we’re here to explain how to get this all working.

Street Fighter 6: Fightstick and controller – what do I need?

First of all the most important thing is to have your fightstick plugged in, and logged in as “player one”. The idea is that you can move your avatar around the world with the wireless controller, using both sticks; and thus the camera movement is easy. You can use a fightstick for camera controls, but it’s a bit unwieldy, and though it isn’t awful, it’s easier to use both.

Street Fighter 6 | How to use a fightstick and controller at the same time

How to enable both controllers at once

Once you’ve done all of this it’s pretty simple, but at first it’s also quite confusing. First up, load Street Fighter 6 up with whichever fightstick you are using. It’ll be wired, if you’re using PS5/PS4 then hit the “PlayStation” button to tell the console your profile is using the stick.

Street Fighter 6 | How to use a fightstick and controller at the same time

For our playtime, we’re using the NACON Daija and you’ll know it’s active if the light is on under the PlayStation button. After this, hit the PS button or turn on your Xbox controller. Simply assign the wireless controller to a second profile. It can be a dummy one that doesn’t even have PSN/Xbox Live access if you want – in fact, we’d suggest that to avoid any confusion.

On Xbox it’s worth noting you must start the World Tour mode (etc) with the stick, first. Then you can turn the controller on. Again, whichever device you use: always make sure you are “player one”.

Once that’s done, you’re all good. You can go into World Tour or Battle Hub and move around with the wireless controller, then just move to the stick for fights. It’s the perfect way to play!

Within Street Fighter 6 the World Tour mode is a quiet star of the show. Offering a huge, varied, and fun story to experience, taking on the movesets and foibles of your mentors, shaping a brand new avatar you can even take online to fight opponents. However, some of the mentors you can study under are optional, namely Manon and Dhalsim.

Both of these characters require side-quests to be completed to even meet them, let alone have them as your mentor. We’ve gone to the trouble of doing all this so you can find Street Fighter 6 Dhalsim in your World Tour mode, because who doesn’t want to meet the master of the Yoga Flame? Follow our Street Fighter 6 World Tour Dhalsim guide, and you’ll soon be learning from the master.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour: How to start the quest?

As you’d expect, Dhalsim is located in his temple in India, but you can’t access that part of the world map yet. We’d recommend playing the story mode naturally, and eventually you will unlock a side quest called “The Yoga Statue”, which is located at the very south part of Metro City, called Bayside Park. This happened for us after hitting Chapter 11 of the World Tour mode. Once you do unlock it, head to the side quest and chat to the man there.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour Dhalsim - part 1

He will ask you for 7000 Zenny to buy a statue, which you’ll have to do. He’ll pretty much disappear directly afterwards, leaving you with no clue but to carry on your business. That’s step one of the quest done, and in the meantime, we’d suggest getting yourself to around level 30 at the lowest.

How do I complete the quest?

Street Fighter 6 Dhalsim World Tour - part 2

Once you’ve gotten to a decent level (we recommend 30), go back to the exact same spot only at night and you’ll find Anik (the guy who sold you the statue), who will admit he’s a con-artist, and you’ll fight him. He’s level 30 and fairly tanky, and he also uses Dhalsim’s moveset, which you won’t have encountered before now.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour Dhalsim - part 3

Beating him will reveal he’s a previous student who’s now ashamed of himself. He’ll give you some rubbish about being sorry, and then you will be able to select “Dhalsimer Temple, India” from the world map, and travel to meet the man himself.

How do I get Dhalsim as a mentor?

Unlike some of the mentors in Street Fighter 6, Dhalsim will just talk to you and immediately take you on as a student. After a very funny cut-scene, he will enroll you and give you Yoga Fire, Yoga Teleport forward, and backward, and the air versions of both. You can even buy a permanent stat boost from the merchant to the left, and fight the fellow student on the right to gain around four levels of loyalty to get a super move right away.

Street Fighter 6 Dhalsim World Tour - part 4

And that’s it, you can now use Dhalsim’s play style and special moves. Enjoy! If you’re still struggling, here’s a video that shows how to unlock Dhalsim as we did it.

First trailer for Dragon’s Dogma 2 revealed https://www.godisageek.com/2023/05/first-trailer-for-dragons-dogma-2-revealed/ Thu, 25 May 2023 00:58:02 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=278040 Claim the throne

The post First trailer for Dragon’s Dogma 2 revealed appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

During last night’s PlayStation Showcase, Capcom revealed the first trailer for Dragon’s Dogma 2, showcasing what to expect from the sequel. Launching in 2012, the original received high praise from gamers and fantasy fans alike, featuring excellent combat and rich action-RPG elements.

Although no release date was revealed, the trailer looks fantastic, and Ken Mendoza, Promotion Producer at Capcom revealed some interesting bits of information on the official PlayStation blog. Touching on the original, Mendoza said, “Dragon’s Dogma 2 follows in its footsteps elevating these elements further to create a truly immersive fantasy world for your adventures ahead.”

The story begins in an underground gaol

where the Dragon’s voice echoes in the fog of lost memories.

Ascend, Arisen, and best me,

in accordance with the dogma of this world.

Betwixt the domains of human and beastren,

A hero must fulfill their forgotten destiny.

What dogma does your heart see through your eyes?

‘Tis a tale of one who shall slay the Dragon and claim the throne.

Symbol of the world’s destruction, soars through the sky with its massive wings and breathes flames that scorch everything in its path.

Some are terrified by its descent, while others revere it as a god.

In Dragon Dogma 2, players will play as the Arisen whose heart has been taken by a dragon. The Pawns, essentially other characters within your party, will be picked by the player and “make gameplay feel like you’re accompanied by others.” It’ll feature the latest in graphics and artificial intelligence, along with physics technology. In terms of new races and monsters, there’ll be plenty of new ones to encounter, including the beastren, a beast-like race.

We don’t have a ton of details to go on for now, but the Dragon’s Dogma 2 trailer should be enough to keep fans going for now. You can watch it in all its glory below:

]]>

Exoprimal is a cool word. It’s one of those words that evokes certain concepts while simultaneously being, in fairness, gibberish. For a game about strapping on a robotic Exosuit to smash dinosaurs into the concrete, it’s about as apt as humanly possible. It’s also a pretty cool game, in so far as it has more outward swagger than the entire Kardashian family combined. Perhaps fittingly, it’s also both very pretty and not all that deep.

You play as a soldier who everyone calls “Ace” whose job it is to travel through interdimensional portals to battle against an omnipotent AI that’s taken over the world. And you do this primarily by wiping out literal hordes of dinosaurs with extreme prejudice. Even if you spend time analysing the plot, it’s a flimsy concept at best. You and your team of generic mercenaries tick every single box on the video game team checklist.

Exoprimal

There’s the grizzled old leader who used to the the best, the tough (read: needlessly rude and perpetually pissed off) female badass, the British-accented tech nerd who will no doubt somehow bond with female badass, a robotic AI maid (yeah, okay, that one is lesser seen), and you: unbeatable superstar who’s amazing at everything and constantly saves the day but who everyone will treat like a moron for no good reason. It’s basic, but it works. There are also additional characters, such as alternate versions of the team and a guy whose accent may possibly be Australian who turns up now and then when you need to be rescued or mansplained at.

Facetious analysis aside, there is a level of intrigue in Exoprimal’s campaign. It’s a mad concept, for sure, but it does throw up a lot of questions and create a compelling enough mystery – particularly concerning the fates of the alternate universe versions of the team. But still, the story is in service to the gameplay here, and really only exists as a shaky framework to rest all these giant dinosaur balls on. Because when you’re summoning a T-Rex through an interdimensional portal to wreak havoc downtown, you won’t care why you’re doing it.

When deployed into the field you’ll be in a huge Exosuit, of which there are currently around a dozen. They fill in team roles like Assault, Support, and Tank, and you can switch between all the ones you have unlocked at a moment’s notice, allowing you to mix and match tactics with the other members of your team. The AI is sufficient to get the job done, but you’ll have a much, much better time playing with friends or even strangers.

Exoprimal

Your job in most cases is to smash, blast, and cut your way through hordes of dinosaurs dropped in by the AI overlord. It was originally a training program, now repurposed to wreak havoc and prevent you from completing your objectives. You’ll often face off against another team (imagined as an alternate version of your squad) to complete those objectives faster.

Obviously, this makes absolutely no sense. There is only one “you” on your team, so I don’t know where the other Exosuits are even coming from, but it doesn’t matter. Exoprimal is balls-to-the-wall mayhem and it leans so heavily into it that it simply never feels weird to be launching rockets at a stampeding triceratops. There so much going on during each encounter that tactical thinking is for nerds and the minute you get the option to deploy a motherfucking T-Rex you will do it without question or conscious thought.

Exoprimal

There’s a lot of variety between each suit, and they can be customised further with skins, paint jobs and decals in the hangar. How they play makes a massive difference though. The primary Exosuit is probably my favourite, though, as it just presents a solid mix of offensive functions with a decent level of defence and maneuverability. Other exoframes provide various star spreads but wildly differing weapon and ability loadouts. There’s one with a sword, for example, another that can fly.

The whole thing heavily evokes the latter entries in the Earth Defence Force, only instead of giant ants it’s velociraptors. Even playing multiple rounds with multiple different suits, I was always left a little shell-shocked at just how wilfully chaotic Exoprimal is. For some reason, each suit has a different AI personality, with different genders and voices. I don’t know why this is, unless it’s just to help cater to the hero shooter crowd. It’s not a problem, just a weird thing worth pointing out.

Exoprimal

Exoprimal is great fun though. And it kind of has to be, because it’s about as deep as a bowl of soup so far. Yes you can swap out suits and change loadouts, but it throws a T-Rex at you in the first mission and from then on does little to try to really wow you beyond that. It’s having the cake before the party and then just kind of hanging around to see if there’s more cake later. And then there is, but it’s the same as the first cake and you’ve got to eat it anyway while pretending to be grateful. Yeah I lost the thread of that one a bit, too.

Ultimately, this is Capcom’s answer to the live service model and as such, it’s probably going to do fine. Capcom will support it with content and season passes, and if you disengage your logic motors there’s a damn fun experience to be had (though of course the build we played is not final, and balance changes could happen between now and launch). The accents are pretty awful all round and there’s no point in trying to make it all make sense. Exoprimal is simply chaotic, cathartic fun, of a kind that we just don’t get much anymore, and I’m excited to see more of it when it launches.

Exoprimal is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X on July 14th, 2023.

Capcom has surprisingly announced an open beta for Street Fighter 6, despite the game being out in less than a month.

It seems the open beta is due to fan demand, as Capcom said: “Street Fighter 6 is to be released on Friday, June 2, 2023, but we know you simply cannot wait! Because so many people sent a request during the recent closed beta test, we will now carry out an open beta, allowing more and more fans to try things out”.

There’s a very brief trailer below, announcing the beta, you can check out before we continue:

The open beta will take place on these dates/times:

  • May 19, 2023 00:00 PDT – May 21, 2023 24:00 PDT
  • May 19, 2023 07:00 UTC – May 22, 2023 07:00 UTC

Capcom also said that “The open beta will feature the same content as the closed beta test conducted in December 2022” and that “The release version will be further adjusted and will feature updated character balance, etc. We ask for your understanding”.

As usual you’ll need a Capcom ID to get involved, and here’s the list of playable content:

  • Character Creation (Only possible to create once)
  • Ranked Matches
  • Casual Matches
  • Battle Hub Matches
  • Open Tournaments
  • Training Mode
  • Hub Goods Shop
  • Extreme Battles (Updates daily)
  • Game Center (Updates daily)
  • Challenges (Updates daily)
  • DJ Booth
  • Photo Spot

Luke, Jamie, Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, Kimberly, Juri, and Ken makes up the list of playable characters, and there are six stages available. You can create your avatar for the battle hub, too, but note that there’s also a demo of the game available for all formats that lets you try out the World Tour story mode, too.

We recently got hands-on with a lot more of the game, and Sean Smith said: “So once again, I walked away from Capcom a very happy and excited boy, dreaming of an arcade stick purchase (although I must stress, due to the mechanics, World Tour is strictly pad only for my money), and working myself up into a frenzy about all the fun I am going to have soon. I have never been so sure that a game is going to stick the landing, and utterly usurp the game that preceded it. I am sure a lot of casual fans who may not be au fait with fighters will enjoy it too, thanks to the accessibility and ease of sitting under the exceptional learning tree Capcom have generously included. Bring it on.”.

Street Fighter 6 is coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on June 2nd, 2023.

From May 11th, Street Fighter: Duel will have a crossover with Devil May Cry 5, offering exclusive rewards for new and old players.

For those unaware, Street Fighter: Duel is the mobile RPG version of Street Fighter from Crunchyroll, and this crossover will last from May 11th to May 24th. It’s not the first time another Capcom franchise has joined the mobile game, as there was recently a Monster Hunter collaboration as well.

Available via Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store (for Android users), for the “Devil Invasion” event. Here’s the key features:

  • Unlock the stylish and tenacious Dante, transform into a powerful demon and devastate your foes with massive damage.
  • Master Dante’s unique EX-move “Power Smash” and send the enemy’s front row scurrying behind the backline, adding a new layer of depth to combat.
  • Take on “Devil Invasion” tasks to earn “Demon Soulstones”, then drop by “Nico’s Store” to buy rewards like the “Strongest Demon Hunter” avatar.
“The Agency” needs you! Explore the world and earn “Demon Stars”, a demonic currency Nico can utilize to power-up your fighters.
  • Exclusive rewards for new or returning players, including currency to pull and level up new fighters.

Story wise, Crunchyroll says that “The megalomaniac dictator, M. Bison is attempting to harness the looming tree’s dark power. Our heroes, Ryu, Chun-Li, and the World Warriors must stop him, but can they rely on Dante, the fashionable fighter that arrived upon a motorbike? Perhaps help is on the way!”

On top of that, Street Fighter II: The Animated Series and Devil May Cry: The Animated Series (something I wasn’t aware existed, and now want to watch) are also streaming now on Crunchyroll. Also, this news has got me thinking about what if Dante really did become a guest character in a game like Street Fighter 6.

Street Fighter: Duel is available now for iOS and Android devices, and is free-to-play.

]]>

The first time my editor and I dropped by Capcom HQ for a hands-on preview of the forthcoming Street Fighter 6, it was fair to say we were blown away. Not only did we not want the preview session to end, but we also spent the entire car journey back, and a few weeks of text messages talking about it like a pair of excited schoolkids. Having just been party to three glorious hours of the final pre-release hands-on, that excitement has just intensified ten-fold. I experienced things I wasn’t expecting, revelled in the solid brilliance of the core game, and even fully laughed out loud on a few occasions.

I was granted ninety minutes with two of the main modes on offer, starting with Fighting Grounds. Within this segment are four sub-modes. First up is the tried and tested Arcade, probably the first way most of us ever experienced a Street Fighter title and still the go-to when trying out a new incarnation. I was able to play halfway through a standard run using two of the roster. Like a pair of comfy slippers, series mainstay Ken is as familiar as ever, even if he is now looking grizzled and wearing a sheepskin jacket somewhat reminiscent of some of the latter forms of one Terry Bogard. You know what you are going to get with Ken on a fundamental level – excellent anti-air capabilities, time-honoured fireballs, an innate ability to get opponents into corners or juggle situations, and within the remit of the Street Fighter 6 Drive system, being able to cancel into a Jinrai Kick to smash a segment of his opposite number’s Drive gauge.

Lily on the other hand is an intriguing newcomer who is an indigenous Mexican fighter from the same tribe as Super Street Fighter 2 legend T.Hawk, sharing some of his moves within her DNA, but also wielding two alarmingly hurty-looking clubs called pogamoggans. As well as the Condor Dive and a decent command grab like our boy T, Lily can also use her clubs to generate Windclad stocks which can then be used to enhance the power of her special moves and her Thunderbird Level 2 Critical Art. She is a deceptively powerful and extremely interesting character with a genuine sense of depth.

The Arcade playthrough saw many of the beautiful stages come to life before my eyes, as well as being able to smash up a bunch of familiar and not-so-familiar opponents. It came to an end at each halfway point when a bonus stage interjected, demanding I employ my fighter to annihilate a vehicle in classic Street Fighter / Final Fight fashion. It is of course wonderfully cathartic.

Moving on from the exceptional core game was the terrific Extreme Battle, which I believe will be a smash hit online. It is essentially a versus battle but with a bunch of crazed variables, one minute you could be avoiding being zapped by giant electrical pylons, the next kicking ticking timebombs towards your opponent in the hope they get ‘sploded. Meanwhile, a bunch of other random stuff can be implemented, such as being unable to use special moves, jumping being banned, or having your character in a permanent state of burnout and the coinciding inability to access the best that the drive gauge has to offer. If you have ever dreamed of using a rampaging bull to extend a combo during your Street Fighter experience, then this mode is for you. It is astonishingly fun.

Combo Trial is as you would expect and gives you a great way of learning the most effective combinations for each character. I tried this out with Cammy who as always looks like she will be deadly in the right hands and somehow even more nimble and hard-hitting this time around.

If that lets you learn how to physically pull things off, then the exceptional Character Guide tells you why, when, AND how. Controlling the clearly evil, psycho-powered new face JP, this incredibly comprehensive step-by-step guide is a fine way for newcomers to learn the way the mechanics and moves of each fighter work, and for experienced heads to really get under the skin of each fighter. It’s a level of teaching that is rarely seen in the genre. I personally can’t wait to kick some serious ass with, and find out more about the motivations of the sinister JP!

Normally the modes above would have been plenty for me to be getting on with. Hell, Steet Fighter V shipped on launch with less out the gate.

But the sheer glee of what I experienced in the first 90 minutes was somehow eclipsed by the utterly bonkers World Tour that I got to try next. I knew there was going to be a hitherto unfamiliar game hiding in the Street Fighter 6 package, but not this, not this.

I can best describe it as a semi-open-world, fully-fledged role-playing game set in the wider Street Fighter / Final Fight universe, that clearly draws its influences from Yakuza and Shenmue, but has fighting incorporating a fully customisable, scaled-down version of the Street Fighter 6 engine. Did I mention that it also has Metroidvania elements? No? Well, it has those too. Have you ever wanted to use a Spinning Bird Kick to access an out-of-reach platform? It’s in here. Fighting games have tinkered with the idea of different modes and gimmicks before. Soul Calibur and Tekken have had Weapon Master and Tekken Force; Guilty Gear went a bit left of centre for Judgement. But never has anyone done anything as crazy and super fun as this. According to Street Fighter 6’s producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya, Capcom’s ultimate goal was to “make another Street Fighter game that’s not just for existing fans of the series, but for everyone,”

And it really is. You get to create a character using a wide range of base parts and models (even your own face, if you really want to go full-bore mental) and then customise it to within an inch of its life. Progress in the game sees you able to learn different fighting styles from Street Fighter legends and incorporate their techniques into your moveset in a wild crossover of moves and styles. There are skills trees, NPCs, a crazy, ultra-violent, and never-not-funny way of challenging bystanders to a battle

It gave me a giddy unbridled joy that was like someone had injected the essence of the SEGA Dreamcast into my veins. It is stuffed full of easter eggs and references to games of Capcom’s storied past, but crucially above all it doesn’t take itself seriously. It is as much fun as I have had on a videogame in 2023 and I can’t wait to explore this lunatic world once it drops in June.

So once again, I walked away from Capcom a very happy and excited boy, dreaming of an arcade stick purchase (although I must stress, due to the mechanics, World Tour is strictly pad only for my money), and working myself up into a frenzy about all the fun I am going to have soon. Bring it on.

Take a look at our video preview to see just how impressive what Capcom has done with Street Fighter 6 really is.

It’s not long until we’ll all be Hadoukening our hearts out in Street Fighter 6, and I’m happy to gorge myself on anything I can find out about the next installment in Capcom’s legendary fighting game series. Well The Street Fighter 6 Showcase provided just that, with information on what to expect after launch and details on what the single player aspect of the game will entail.

“The Street Fighter™ 6 Showcase, hosted by rap legend Lil Wayne, dropped new information on the upcoming game, including new details on World Tour, customized avatar battles, accessibility features, the Year 1 roadmap, and a demo that kicks off today on PlayStation®5 and PlayStation®4 followed by its release for Xbox and Steam on April 26!”

Long time fans of the series will be especially happy to hear about the characters coming in the first year after launch. After skipping the fifth game I admittedly don’t recognise many of them, but I can’t help but get excited when I see Akuma mentioned.

“Rashid of the Turbulent Wind, who debuted in Street Fighter™ V, returns in Summer 2023. The enigmatic A.K.I. struts into the roster in Autumn 2023. Ed, the Young Commander from Street Fighter V, also strikes back in early Winter 2024. And finally, the legend himself, the beast, the transcendent Akuma will rage into Street Fighter 6 in Spring 2024! All four of these characters will be included as Masters in World Tour following their release and are also included in the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of Street Fighter 6.”

The post Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries mode is coming in April appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

At the end of the launch trailer for Resident Evil 4 Remake, Capcom has revealed the date Mercenaries will be added as free DLC, and it’s pretty soon.

The trailer was released today to celebrate the launch of the game, but one of the few things missing is the mode that seems to hit every new Resi game these days. But Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries is coming as free DLC on April 7th.

You can see the launch trailer below, and while it’s less than a minute long, the Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries date reveal is right at the end, at 37 seconds. It was also confirmed in a press release announcing the launch of the game today.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is out now, and there’s a demo available as well which has a few altered features from the main game. For example, in the demo you can get into the well in the village right at the start, while being attacked by the onslaught of enemies.

The actual game is a phenomenal experience, as you’d probably expect. Lyle reviewed it for us, giving it top marks 10/10, saying: “Resident Evil 4 Remake has done the impossible and made arguably the best game in the series significantly better. All we really needed to was for the remake to tighten up the controls and update the visuals, but instead Capcom added a whole host of new mechanics, made every boss fight significantly more epic, and fleshed out a lot of beloved characters with an improved story and tons more voice lines. Resident Evil 4 Remake is simply the best video game remake I’ve ever played, and might just mean that 2005 and 2023 share the same Game of the Year”.

If you’re new to the game, or returning after a long time of playing it back in 2005, we’ve got a massive amount of guides to help you, which you can find here. Even if you’re just looking for help with the all new side-quests/requests, we’ve got you covered, here.

Capcom explained today in a press release that there’s a deluxe edition of the game as well, which adds “additional in-game content including costumes, weapons, a treasure map, and more”, and also confirmed that a VR mode has “begun development as a free DLC”, though it’s unclear if that’s the full main game that’ll be playable, or Mercenaries, or something else entirely.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series S|X.

However, completing the request can be a little tricky, but don’t worry, here at God is a Geek, we’ve got all the information you need to complete the request. Read on for everything you need to know about the Catch Me a Big Fish request in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Resident Evil 4 remake Catch Me a Big Fish request details

General Information

Request: Catch Me a Big Fish

Where to find the Request

Resident Evil 4 Remake Catch me a Big Fish

This Request is actually quite well hidden and requires some exploration to find. Where you need to go is to travel to the Lakeside Settlement, which can be found to the northwest of the Lake where you fought El Lago. Travel there by boat and climb ashore. There will be a few Ganados to take care of – use stealth where you can.

The Lakeside Settlement is actually the area you explored towards the end of Chapter 1, so it might seem familiar. What you’re looking for this time is a locked gate that you need to use your Insignia Key on. It’s towards the northern end of the area. Open it and proceed into a cave and around to your left. Pinned to a wooden beam is the Request.

Could someone catch the gigantic fish that lives in the lake for me? Fish oil has many uses, after all.

This photo should help you find it.

Area: See attached photograph

Reward: Spinel x4

Progress: 0/1

Cutoff Point: You must finish this quest before the end of Chapter 5. The point of no return is crossing the rope bridge from the Farm towards the extraction point once you have rescued Ashley. It makes sense to complete this request in Chapter 4 as it’s easy to do.

Resident Evil 4 remake Catch Me a Big Fish solution

Fight your way out

Brace yourself for attack when you leave the cave where you find the request. You’ll be introduced to a cutscene with a dog, who is taken over by the Las Plagas infection, becoming much more aggressive than your regular dogs. There are several of these to take down as well as some supporting Ganados. Be prepared to liberally use your Shotgun and Handgun to try and kill them without taking too much damage.

Check the photograph

Resident Evil 4 Remake Catch me a Big Fish

With things having calmed down, it’s worth reviewing the photograph that came attached to the Request. THis gives a clue regarding where to find the big fish you need. Reviewing the photo shows a large boathouse, and fish jumping out of the water in front and to the left of it. So we need to head back to the boathouse – where Leon first went to at the start of Chapter 4.

Find and kill the Lunker Bass

Now we know where to go, this last step is quite simple. Head back out across the Lake towards the boathouse. As you approach you should see a large fish swimming around near the boathouse, just as the photograph described. Use the unlimited harpoons to kill the fish and then go and loot it as normal. You will pick up the Lunker Bass.

Note: The Lunker Bass is a HUGE fish and takes up a whopping 8 slots in your inventory. So either make sure you have space in your attache case for it, or come back for it once you have done some rearranging.

Congratulations you can now sell the Lunker Bass and turn in the Catch me a Big Fish request for Resident Evil 4 Remake to the Merchant to bag your Spinels.

The post Resident Evil 4 Remake tips | Tools to survive on any difficulty appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

While the original is nearly twenty years old, Resident Evil 4 Remake tips will make that tough mountain to conquer a little easier. Whether you’ve played the demo or the full game, you’ll have noticed that enemies seem more plentiful than ever, the bosses take a pounding before dropping, and the 2023 version remake has more mechanical elements to remember than ever before. Did you know that, for example, when members of Los Iluminados sprout their mutant heads, they are particularly susceptible to flash grenades? Exactly.

Even on standard difficulty, Resident Evil 4 Remake tips will be needed. After dying it’ll offer you an “assisted” playthrough, but it even has the audacity to recommend that if you played the 2005 original, you should play on hardcore. Here’s a tip for free before we even get going: don’t do that unless you literally played it last week, because it’s brutal. Regardless, whatever difficulty you choose, with our tips you’ll be getting through the hardest parts relatively unscathed, so let’s begin.

Resident Evil 4 Remake tips: Big Fish Little Fish Storage Box

Resident Evil 4 Remake tips: Big Fish Little Fish Storage Box

A new feature for the 2023 version of Resident Evil 4 is that you can store items in your “typewriter storage”. Because of this, you can always have a health item stashed away for a rainy day (or when you’ve been battered by hordes of not-Zombies). The merchant will often be selling a first-aid spray, so if you’ve spare cash, grab one, lock it away and forget about it. You’ll be very glad of your stockpile come later in the game, that’s for sure. It’s ideal to pop any eggs, fish, or snakes in there too, for a quick health boost when you’re just lacking.

Don’t upgrade too soon

Don’t upgrade too soon

One of the things about the original Resident Evil 4 that is very memorable is how it’s one of the longest games in the series. Our team have been playing it and we’ve had some finish the remake in 16 hours, others nearer 20. With that in mind, don’t upgrade every weapon when you first are able to. In theory, you should make a bee-line for the Red9 handgun, and focus on getting that upgraded to the best you can. Here’s a tiny spoiler: later on, the merchant will unlock further upgrades for some weapons, so you’ll want to focus on that Red9 early. On that note, we’d recommended upgrading the knife durability, and keeping your powder dry for the power weapons, as you’ll find a better sniper, a better automatic weapon, and the best shotgun in the game (Striker) a lot later on. So keep calm and shoot with the pistol.

Use it or (don’t) lose it

Related to both weapons and storage, the one thing you can’t lock away for safe-keeping is ammo. You may not like a gun, but since you can’t store ammo, use the gun anyway on some more grunt-like enemies, then you can safely store it away. It’s worth noting you can even sell weapons you don’t enjoy using for extra cash, and this is without risk as you can “buy back” things you sell, so it’s never truly gone.

Resident Evil 4 Remake tips: Don’t sell early

Resident Evil 4 Remake tips: Don’t sell early

A tip for life, maybe? You’ll be so tempted to sell your gems, but don’t do it. You can sell items that say “only for selling” with no risk, but any gems or items that can have gems “socketable”, are worth hanging on to for as long as possible. There are higher prices gainable for getting the right colour combination socketed into treasures, so bide your time and sell items that cannot be customised before sale.

Head, shoulders, knees and toes

Head, shoulders, knees and toes

You’ve played a Resident Evil game before, we know that. One thing you’ve been taught is “shoot them in the head”, and one of the biggest Resident Evil 4 Remake tips we can offer is to ignore that previous knowledge. In Resi 4 if you pop a head you’ve a higher chance of them sprouting a new “head” and making your life a bloody difficult time. Instead, think about your target. Resident Evil 4 was ahead of its time, and you can shoot an enemy in the arm to make them drop a torch, which will burn themselves. Likewise, shoot their legs twice and they’ll drop down for a melee attack. Fight clever, and forget what you thought you knew about the series.

Magnum Opus

Ah the Magnum. The best weapon in any Resi-game, right? Well yeah, but it’s not really worth carrying around for the full length of Resident Evil 4 Remake. There’s almost always a merchant with a typewriter near boss encounters, so you can grab it then, and it’s so expensive to upgrade you may as well save it for boss battles. Upgrade it if you find you have cash to burn, but without doing so, it’s not quite the Magnum you know from previous titles.

Listen, Stranger

Listen, Stranger

A quick and easy one here for our list of Resident Evil 4 Remake tips is to listen to the merchant. While he dishes out some fantastic dialogue, even offering a little more insight into what they are, the Remake merchant will clearly tell you if you’re about to pass a point of no return. While Resi 4 is a huge game, it goes from large place to large place, and often you can’t go back. The merchant will tell you this, whether it’s the last boss, or you’re about to leave somewhere and not be able to come back. Listen to his advice, stranger, and finish your side quests before leaving an area.

Resident Evil 4 Remake tips: use the knife, Leon

Resident Evil 4 Remake tips: use the knife, Leon

The knife has been entirely reworked for Resident Evil 4 Remake, and is one of the best tools in the game. It’s the one thing you should never be without; the one thing you should always upgrade durability of, and the one thing you should always spend money on to repair. It can parry almost everything in the game. As you can see in the image above, you can even parry a chainsaw attack. Yes. With a knife. You can parry thrown weapons, and this negates so much of the damage you can receive. L1 is your best friend, so get used to it early. Make an effort to learn to hit L1 when someone throws a scythe at you, and your survivability will be so much higher.

The post Resident Evil 4 Remake Village Chief’s Manor puzzle guide appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Towards the end of Chapter 2 in Resident Evil 4 Remake, you’ll encounter a puzzle in the Village Chief’s Manor. It’s a puzzle that offers one of the most important keys in the early stages of the game called the Insignia key. After avoiding a brute with a chainsaw and various bear traps scattered around the perimeter, you’ll enter the manor and have a couple of puzzles to solve before you get inside the chief’s manor and unlock the key. We’ve put together this guide that’ll help you solve the Village Chief’s Manor puzzle.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Village Chief’s Manor puzzle

Find the clue to the animal lock

Once inside the manor, you’ll find a shelf with a book on it, right near the typewriter right at the top of the set of stairs. In the entry, it reads:

In great veneration of their master, the people offered up their most prized possessions.

The old farmer, his finest crop.

The slight swineherd, his stoutest pig.

The beggarly grandam, her own beloved babe.

The master saw these gifts and was pleased.

All you need to do is pay attention to the three words crop, pig, and babe. These will be the three symbols you’re looking for on the lock to where the marble is, which is the next item you’ll need for the puzzle.

Head back down the stairs and go through the kitchen to find a cabinet with the animal lock on it (there will be a beaded curtain across the doorway). Use the three words to decipher the lock, as seen in the picture below.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Village Chief's Manor Puzzle Guide Animal Lock

Use the marble to open the door

Inside the cabinet is a relatively large marble. Take it back up the stairs (after despatching of an unwelcome villager). Now, place it in the door at the far end of the upstairs corridor. You’ll then have to move it around to find the correct pattern. After doing this, you’ll be able to get inside and open the drawer to the back left of the room. In here, you will find the insignia key and will have solved the Village Chief’s Manor puzzle in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Viper Hunter is the third request you can get in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Handing in this request to the Merchant will reward you with Spinels to trade for various unique rewards. However, completing the request can be a little tricky, but don’t worry, here at God is a Geek, we’ve got all the information you need to complete the request. Read on for everything you need to know about the Viper Hunter request in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Resident Evil 4 remake Viper Hunter request details

General Information

Request: Viper Hunter

Where to find the Request

Once you’ve used the Insignia Key to get into the Town Hall in Chapter 3, you can explore a new area. Before long you’ll come across a Merchant outside. Once you have, turn around and look to the right to see this Request attach to the wall.

Request Details

A dear friend of mine is gravely ill and I’d very much like to treat them to some delicious vipers before they pass.

Is there a snake charmer willing to lend a hand?

Area: None specified

Reward: Spinel x4

Progress: 0/3

Cutoff Point: You must finish this quest before the end of Chapter 5. The point of no return is crossing the rope bridge from the Farm towards the extraction point once you have rescued Ashley. It makes sense to complete this request in Chapter 3 as you will be visiting the areas you need to naturally anyway.

Resident Evil 4 remake Viper Hunter solution

A couple of points to remember

You need to sell 3 Vipers to the Merchant to complete this task, and we discuss their locations in Chapter 3 below. However, it’s worth remembering that you need to kill each viper, and then pick it up to be able to sell it. It then sits in your inventory until you sell it. Each viper takes up two attache case slots, so remember to account for this when hunting.

Should you need the space, feel free to sell the vipers individually to the Merchant. It will free up space and the Request will be complete once you’ve sold the third Viper anyway.

First Viper

The first Viper in the game can be found in the Town Hall you’ve just come out of. Return back to the door you used the Insignia Key on and turn around so the door is at your back. Then look left and you should see a crate on a shelf to the left of you. These oblong crates are unique and tend to house Vipers in the game. The easiest way to deal with them is to stab the box with your Knife and then do so again so that the Viper takes a hit and dies.

Second Viper

After you’ve passed the Church for the first time, you’ll come across a section of wooden platforms, that has quite a few Ganados to deal with. Take out the enemies you can see, and be sure to keep checking, as a few appear behind you to ambush you. Once the coast is clear, head inside the first small building you see on your left along the wooden platforms. To the right, in the corner, you’ll see another suspicious crate. Do the same as before and stab it repeatedly and pick up your second dead Viper.

Third Viper

You’ll have to be slightly quicker with your reflexes for the Third Viper. When you are looking to get the Fifth Blue Medallion in the Destroy the Blue Medallions 2 Request (follow our guide here for more details) you can get the final Viper you need. The difference is, this Viper isn’t in a box and is slithering free down a ramp in the Fish Farm. Either quickly stab it with your knife or shoot it with your Handgun before it slithers away. Then nab its carcass for your final Viper.

Congratulations you can now sell the Vipers and turn in the Viper Hunter request for Resident Evil 4 Remake into the Merchant to bag your Spinels.

The post Resident Evil 4 Remake | How to unlock Wayshrines appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

In Resident Evil 4 Remake, you’ll find mysterious Wayshrines fairly early on in the game, but you won’t be able to unlock them. It isn’t clear from the start how you go about unlocking these strange chests and claiming the treasure within. But having played through Resident Evil 4 Remake, we here at God is a Geek, have the solution for you.

Read on for everything you need to know about unlocking Wayshrines in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

What are Wayshrines?

Resident Evil 4 Remake Unlock Wayshrines

Wayshrines are special curved chests that are dotted around the early Chapters of Resident Evil 4 Remake. They require a special key to open. Inside they will have a valuable treasure which you sell to the Merchant. As such they are well worth seeking out.

As early as Chapter 1 in the Farm area you can find your first Wayshrine that is locked. And you definitely won’t have what you need to unlock it at this early stage.

Resident Evil 4 Remake | How to unlock Wayshrines

So the key question is then, how do you unlock these Wayshrines? Well to be able to unlock them, you need to first find the Old Wayshrine Key. Now the important thing to remember is that you won’t actually find the Old Wayshrine Key until Chapter 4 of the story. So any Wayshrines you see – and you’ll likely find several – before this point, just need to be ignored for now. You will need to return back to them later once you have the Key. Then you can unlock them and claim their treasure.

The Old Wayshrine Key can be found early in Chapter 4. After you exit the Boathouse, follow the linear path past a few enemies, and into the cave system. Follow this through to the end and you will come to an open area near a jetty that leads out onto the water. To your right, you will see a small chest. Inside that chest is the Wayshrine Key.

You are now able to return to all the Wayshrines and unlock them in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Grave Robber is the 4th request you can get in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Handing in this request to the Merchant will reward you with Spinels to trade for various unique rewards. However, completing the request can be a little tricky, but don’t worry, here at God is a Geek, we’ve got all the information you need to complete the request. Read on for everything you need to know about the Grave Robber request in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Resident Evil 4 remake Grave Robber request details

General Information

Request: Destroy the tombstone emblems

Where to find the Request

Once you get to the church, and discover it’s locked, you’ll notice you can head around to the right side of it. This takes you on a path that actually turns left around the back of the church. Keep following the path until you reach a dead end. On a post to your left at this dead end you should see the Request.

Request Details

Those traitorous twins should not be allowed to rest in peace for joining that evil cult.

Won’t someone – anyone – destroy the emblems engraved upon their tombstones!

Area: Church

Reward: Spinel x 2

Progress: 0/2

Cutoff Point: You must finish this quest before the end of Chapter 5. The point of no return is crossing the rope bridge from the Farm towards the extraction point once you have rescued Ashley. It makes sense to complete this request in Chapter 3 as you’re there anyway.

Head to the front of the graveyard

The location of the church is preceded by a fair amount of gravestones littered around the cemetery. Many of them have a hole in the tombstones, while others have a symbol on them. To avoid running around the whole cemetery, head back to the front area (furthest away from the church) just before the area you arrived from. In the centre of that area of the graveyard (in front of the fencing), you’ll find two graves together with matching tombstones. Simply shoot them both to solve the Grave Robber request. Alternatively, you can use your knife to conserve ammo. For guidance, you can see the location of the tombstones in the image below.

Resident Evil 4 Remake | How to carry more items https://www.godisageek.com/2023/03/resident-evil-4-remake-how-to-carry-more-items/ Fri, 24 Mar 2023 00:01:41 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=275439 Pimp my case

The post Resident Evil 4 Remake | How to carry more items appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Resident Evil 4 Remake is a fantastic game, with plenty of things to see, do and pick up, so much so that you’ll often be left wondering if there is a way you can carry more items. The way your inventory system works in Resident Evil 4 Remake is that Leon carries around an attaché case of a certain size. Then each item in the game is given its own dimensions relative to its size. So a shotgun takes up more room than an egg, as it should. But the more you pick up, the more you may find yourself filling your attaché case. And that can be frustrating, as you’ll need all the help you can get to be victorious.

How much can I carry at the start?

Leon’s initial attaché case is a 7×10 case, meaning he has 70 slots available. But this doesn’t mean 70 items, as your starting handgun for example takes up 6 of those slots, and your combat knife a further 3. If you want ammunition, herbs, craftables and other tools at your disposal, this small case is going to get pretty full before long.

Resident Evil 4 Remake | How to carry more items

Thankfully there is a way to increase Leon’s attaché case size. The key to more inventory space is The Merchant. He will sell you larger attaché cases throughout the course of your adventure.

You’ll be able to upgrade your attaché case to 7×12 in Chapter 2 when you first meet The Merchant for the price of 10,000 Pesetas. However, it may be better to purchase the Rifle and complementary scope first at this point, and then go for the larger case size when you meet him again later in the Chapter and have accrued some more money.

You’ll then be able to upgrade your case further by visiting the Merchant near the Lake in Chapter 4, to increase your attaché case size to 8×12 for the princely sum of 20,000 Pesetas.

As such it’s always highly recommended you check out what new items the Merchant has in stock each time you reach him for the first time. Every attaché case size upgrade gives your more space, which gives you more options. It also means you won’t have to leave any wanted items behind.

That’s all you need to know regarding how to carry more items in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

General Information

Request: The Disgrace of the Salazar Family

Where to find the Request

Resident Evil 4 Remake The Disgrace of the Salazar Family

Once you come out of the lift at the beginning of Chapter 12, turn left towards the familiar purple flame of the Merchant. On your left on the wall will be two Requests. The right of the two is the one for The Disgrace of the Salazar Family.

Request Details

That detestable Ramón Salazar…

Even the very sight of his image makes my skin crawl. Do me a service and find some way to deface the portrait of him in the room shown in the photograph, will you?

I’m not particular about how you do it. Hitting it with something might do the trick.

Area: See attached photograph

Reward: Spinel x4

Progress: 0/1

Cutoff Point: You must finish this quest before taking the cable car to the Clock Tower in Chapter 12.

Resident Evil 4 Remake The Disgrace of the Salazar Family solution

Check the Photograph

Resident Evil 4 Remake The Disgrace of the Salazar Family

Similar to the Catch me a Big Fish request, this one also comes with a photograph attached. Looking at it shows a location you’ve been to before. It is the Throne Room when you found Salazar before you ended up being thrust into the pit below. You need to return there for this Request.

Head to the Throne Room

Look for the big gated door to your right, and it will unlock from this side, and you can head out to the circular room where your previously fought a lot of the bug enemies. Head on through to the outside area, and push on to the double doors heading towards the Throne Room. Sadly before you get there, you’ll need to fight through a room full of spider-controlled cultists who will run at you with pace. Shotgun the cultists when they get close, to dispatch the spiders and stun everything then finish all the enemies with a few well-placed Handgun shots.

Once the room is empty, head on to the Throne Room.

Find the Painting

Resident Evil 4 Remake The Disgrace of the Salazar Family

When you’re in the Throne Room, the first thing to do is to find the painting you need to deface. It’s at the far end of the Throne Room, near the Throne itself, however, you then need to face the left wall to spot the painting.

You will quickly find however that knifing the painting or shooting it does nothing to deface it. So clearly we need to do something else.

Chicken Fun

A weird addition to the room – at least at first glance – are two chickens. They are roaming about freely here. But they are the key to the Request – do not shoot them! You need one of them to lay an egg, which requires a little patience but shouldn’t take too long. You may even see an egg already on the floor when you entered the room. Once it appears, go ahead and pick it up.

Then you need to head into your inventory and highlight the egg and equip it. Did you know you could actually throw eggs? Well, you can, and that is exactly what we are about to do. Return to the painting, and then aim with the egg, and you should see a throwing arc appear, similar to when you’re planning to throw a grenade. Aim for the egg to hit the painting and release.

You should satisfyingly see egg splatter all over the painting and get the note to say you have completed the Request.

Congratulations you can now turn in The Disgrace of the Salazar Family request for Resident Evil 4 Remake to the Merchant to bag your Spinels.

However, completing the request can be a little tricky, but don’t worry, here at God is a Geek, we’ve got all the information you need to complete the request. Resident Evil 4 remake Destroy the Blue Medallions 4 request details

General Information

Request: Destroy the Blue Medallions 4

Where to find the Request

After clearing the hedge maze section at the beginning of Chapter 9, you’ll find yourself in the Grand Hall area. You’ll straight away notice in front of you, the familiar purple flame of the Merchant next to a door to your right. Take it and the man will greet you as normal. Enter the room and look at a table on your right. You should see the Request in front of you.

Request Details

Those annoying blue medallions are a blemish and I want them gone!

Let us show them that we are not afriad and that we will not stand for this!

Area: Grand Hall

Reward: Spinel x5

Progress: 0/6

Cutoff Point: You must finish this quest before taking the cable car to the Clock Tower in Chapter 12. However, it is best to do this in Chapter 9 as you’ll be passing all the Blue Medallion locations organically anyway.

Resident Evil 4 remake Destroy the Blue Medallions 4 solution

First Blue Medallion

Head back out of the Merchant room from the door you entered, and turn left. Head towards the door leading back to hedge maze section, but before you do, look to your left into a small alcove. Hanging up high you should spot your first Blue Medallion.

Second Blue Medallion

Now turnaround back towards the Merchant room, but this time run beyond it and up the stairs of the Great Hall. You’ll see a statue ahead, that forms the basis of the puzzle in this area. However, run behind the statue to the far wall. Then turn around and look up and you should see the next Medallion up high, behind a pillar.

Third Blue Medallion

From the previous Medallion, head to your right through a door (the North direction on your map) to find the Dining Room area. You’ll know you’re in the right spot as it’s a room adorned in red furnishings. In this room if you head to the far end, and then look to your right through the last window, you should spy a cheeky Blue Medallion in between the draping curtains.

Fourth Blue Medallion

Once you’re done with the Dining Room area, it’s time to return to the Great Hall area by the statue and take the stairs up to the higher level. From here you’ll want to look with interest at the large central chandelier hanging in the room. In between all of the usual lights is a hidden Blue Medallion that can be sometimes difficult to spot because of all the bright light shining on it. Shoot it for Medallion number four.

Fifth Blue Medallion

From this upper level, head through the southern door, to head to the Gallery area. This is where you’ll find the Goat Head for the statue puzzle. To get it you’ll need to fight off a hoard of enemies that appear once the walkway you need is lowered. Kill the Crimson chieftain first as a priority. If you’re quick a Heavy Grenade in his direction will sort him out in one go. With him down, it’s then about giving yourself the space to fight off the cultists. Once done, use the lever to re-raise the walkway again.

However, before using the raised walkway, head back to the walkway and examine the area underneath it. You should see a Blue Medallion on a pillar.

Sixth Blue Medallion

Once you’ve got the Goat Head, head back to the Great Hall, but this time take the Northern door on the upper level. Follow the path of rooms until you come to an octagonal room, with a lower level that you can drop down into. But don’t drop down yet. Instead, head to your right around the upper level (Ashley normally heads this way automatically), and to the right of the room, in between come curtains, you should spy the final Blue Medallion in an alcove.

Congratulations you can now turn in the Destroy the Blue Medallions 4 for Resident Evil 4 Remake into the Merchant to bag your Spinels.

Destroy the Blue Medallions 3 is the ninth request you can get in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Handing in this request to the Merchant will reward you with Spinels to trade for various unique rewards. However, completing the request can be a little tricky, but don’t worry, here at God is a Geek, we’ve got all the information you need to complete the request. Read on for everything you need to know about the Destroy the Blue Medallions 3 request in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Resident Evil 4 remake Destroy the Blue Medallions 3 request details

General Information

Request: Destroy the Blue Medallions 3

Where to find the Request

Ironically, you can actually get the Request once you’ve already destroyed all of the Medallions. The Request is behind the Castle Gate which you need to shoot with the cannon. Once through the door, head to the far end of the room, and the Request is on a pillar to your right.

Request Details

Those blue medallions have been strung up around the castle by those crazy zealots!

They’re a damn eyesore! Someone get them out of my sight!

Area: Castle Gate

Reward: Spinel x5

Progress: 0/6

Cutoff Point: You must finish this quest before taking the cable car to the Clock Tower in Chapter 12.” However, it is best to do this in Chapter 7 as you’ll be passing all the Blue Medallion locations organically anyway.

Resident Evil 4 remake Destroy the Blue Medallions 3 solution

First Blue Medallion

Resident Evil 4 Remake Destroy the Blue Medallions 3

Once Leon has taken out the sniping crossbowmen shooting at him early on in Chapter 7, he can actually nab the first Medallion. Up the first straight stairway, you should see a small tower to your right. Angle yourself in between the crenelations and aim towards the tower, and you should see the Blue Medallion hanging there.

Second Blue Medallion

Next you start dealing with the catapults around the Castle ramparts. Once you have destroyed the first catapult you come across by shooting the exploding barrel, you’re safe to go after the first Medallion. Take out your rifle, and then facing where the catapult was, look up and to your left. You should see the Medallion in the distance.

Third Blue Medallion

From there, run straight ahead, into a short covered stairway that doubles back on itself. Expect some Ganados here. Then when you emerge outside again, be careful as a few new catapults have their eye on you. Head immediately right, and then left across a walkway to a small round tower, with a caged-off area in the centre. Walk round it anti-clockwise until you come to the point where you can drop down, but don’t.

Stand there and take out your rifle. Ahead and slightly to the left you should be able to spy the next Blue Medallion through a convenient gap in the castle wall.

Fourth Blue Medallion

Resident Evil 4 Remake Destroy the Blue Medallions 3

From the exact same spot, look downwards towards the central cage, and you’ll spy another Blue Medallion just below you. Position yourself to shoot it through the cage.

Fifth Blue Medallion

We barely have to move again for the next Medallion. Pivot to your left, and you should spy this Medallion hanging from a window in plain sight.

Sixth Blue Medallion

Resident Evil 4 Remake Destroy the Blue Medallions 3

Before going any further, it’s worth using the cannon to take out the catapults you can see. Drop down from the point you are into the room below and raise the cannon. Leave the room, and use the ladder you find, and then climb the ramp of wood. One of the catapults will be shooting at you. Wait for a break in the fire to drop down to the lower ledge, and follow the short path round.

You should see a door on your right, but more importantly to your left is another hanging Medallion, which is close enough to be knifed to save ammo.

Congratulations you can now turn in the Destroy the Blue Medallions 3 for Resident Evil 4 Remake into the Merchant to bag your Spinels.

There is a gun for every occasion in Resident Evil 4 Remake, so much so that it can be difficult to know which ones are the best. You are given plenty of firepower options to purchase from the Merchant throughout your adventure, but with Pesetas not always free-flowing, you can sometimes wonder which ones are the best to spend your hard-earned cash on.

Well, what if we told you that you could get one of the best guns in Resident Evil 4 Remake for free, without spending anything? Read on to discover this amazing secret.

Which is the best gun in the game?

Arguably the best gun for overall firepower and general utility is the Red9. It’s the most powerful handgun in the game, but it kicks like a mule. Thankfully you can purchase a Stock for it from the Merchant which calms the recoil and makes it an incredibly powerful and usable main firearm for the entirety of Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Resident Evil 4 Remake | How to get the best gun for free

The great news is you can actually get the Red9 before the Merchant sells it to you, giving you more of your adventure to make the most of it. And, more importantly, you can get it for free.

Once you get to Chapter 4 of Resident Evil 4 Remake, you can access the Red9 for free. Make your way through the linear paths and caves, until you come to a jetty with a boat for you to ride on. Now that El Lago is defeated, you can travel across the lake area freely.

The area you want to be looking for is actually in the middle of the lake itself. There is an abandoned boat there. Board it and then make your way around to the front of the boat. Then, in a blue chest is the Red9, free for the taking.

This handgun is the best in the game and should be where you focus your attention for upgrading at the Merchant.

Congratulations, you have acquired the best gun in Resident Evil 4 Remake for free.

Egg Hunt is the sixth request you can get in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Handing in this request to the Merchant will reward you with Spinels to trade for various unique rewards. However, completing the request can be a little tricky, but don’t worry, here at God is a Geek, we’ve got all the information you need to complete the request. Read on for everything you need to know about the Egg Hunt request in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Resident Evil 4 remake Egg Hunt request details

General Information

Request: Egg Hunt

Where to find the Request

In Chapter 4, after defeating El Lago, you’ll find yourself in the Boathouse. You’ll then make your way through an area that’s fairly linear until you eventually make your way back to the water again. Just to the left of the jetty with a new boat for you to use, attached to a stone wall, is the Egg Hunt request for you to pick up. You’ll know you’re in the right area when you find the Wayshrine Key. The note is just a little to the left of that.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Request Egg Hunt

Request Details

Someone fetch me a rare golden chicken egg!

What will I do with it? Well, sometimes it’s more fun not knowing, right?

Area: None specified

Reward: Spinel x3

Progress: 0/1

Cutoff Point: You must finish this quest before the end of Chapter 5. The point of no return is crossing the rope bridge from the Farm towards the extraction point once you have rescued Ashley. It makes sense to complete this request in Chapter 4 as you will be visiting the areas you need to naturally anyway.

Resident Evil 4 remake Egg Hunt solution

Get the Lake Map

If you haven’t already, it’s highly advisable you find the Lake map. It isn’t a map in the traditional sense but in fact a cave mural that you can investigate to see all the different areas off of the Lake that you can visit. Retrace your steps from the Egg Hunt Request note and head back into the cave.

Look around for an area you can examine with various heads, bodies, candles dotted around, and a colourful painting in the background. Examining it once will add all the map details automatically.

Locate the Chicken Island

Resident Evil 4 Remake Request Egg Hunt

Now, you need to head to the Chicken Island to locate the Gold Chicken Egg. Open up your map and look around the Lake. The area you’re looking for is on the eastern side of the map. There’s a small island there which we need to visit. Hop into the boat on the jetty near where you picked up the Request and head on over there.

Find the Gold Chicken Egg

Resident Evil 4 Remake Request Egg Hunt

Once you arrive at the island, disembark and move forward. You’ll notice plenty of chickens running around, with plenty of free eggs for you to nab. These are great items that restore health, but only take up one slot in the attache case, so are always worth picking up. However, we’re here for the special Gold Chicken Egg. to find that you’ll need to go towards the back of the island, behind some structures, and you should find it laying on the floor in the mud, in front of some fence. Pick it up.

Congratulations you can now sell the Gold Chicken Egg and turn in the Egg Hunt request for Resident Evil 4 Remake to the Merchant to bag your Spinels.

In Resident Evil 4 Remake, you can take on optional Requests throughout your adventure. The Requests are mini-challenges that require you to go off and do different activities than your usual Ganandos hunting. However, there’s a good reason to do so, as upon completion of these Requests, you can head back to the Merchant and hand them in. He will then reward you with Spinels. This valuable currency can then be used to trade with the Merchant for unique valuable within the game. These include different Attache Cases, treasures, and other items that can help you on your journey.

However, there are quite a few Requests in Resident Evil 4 Remake, and some of them can be quite tricky to figure out. Some of them are puzzles that can be tough to solve, whilst others require you to go off and explore to find hidden objects scattered throughout the world. So we’ve compiled guides for some of the trickier ones so you can be sure to be swimming in Spinels and various rewards before the end credits.

First Blue Medallion

In the main barn that’s home to a white cow and a pig, you’ll find the first blue medallion. Walk around the side of the barn closest to where you came in. Look through the window and it’s hanging up on one of the smaller wooden pillars.

Second Blue Medallion

Resident Evil 4 Remake Second Blue Medallion

As you walk past the barn with the first blue medallion, a smaller barn (where we found the fourth blue medallion) next to a wind turbine sits in front. Turn right and dispatch the female villager. To your right, a tall barn with an open window can be seen when looking up, with the secong blue medallion hanging in the window.

Third Blue Medallion

After exiting the big barn where you fought a gang of villagers and the bigger one wearing the pig’s head for a mask, walk out and opposite the main entrance is the third blue medallion on the wall.

Fourth Blue Medallion

You can do these in any order, so feel to get this one straight after the first. However, after leaving the barn with the white cow and the pig, head into the smaller barn. Above the wooden pillars holding the roof up, another blue medallion is hanging there.

Fifth Blue Medallion

Resident Evil 4 Remake Fifth Blue Medallion

In one of the far corners of the farm, there’s a religious-looking chest. You can’t open it right now. Instead, walk to the right of it and look through the wooden-spiked fence. Here, the fifth and final blue medallion can be found.

Congratulations! All five blue medallions are now in your possession. Check through our Resident Evil 4 Remake Requests page to locate all of the Blue Medallions in the game.

Throughout the history of Resident Evil, one weapon has become as iconic as the characters that wield it. Sure, you can use sniper rifles, bolt guns, and rocket launchers, but there’s nothing more satisfying than blowing the head off an enemy. The shotgun can be found early on in Resident Evil 4 Remake, and this handy guide will show you where to find it.

Resident Evil 4 Remake where to find the shotgun

Head for the bonfire

It’s going to be tricky to just grab the shotgun at first. In chapter 1, you’ll arrive at the main village where one of your police buddies is being burnt alive. Nice. Surrounding him, and pretty much everywhere you look, villagers will be swarming the place. To grab the shotgun without any hassle, it’s worth trying to take out some of the villagers out first. Failing that, as long as you get Leon to the building it’s located in using stealth, it’s also possible the quiet way. Regardless of the approach, you can find the shotgun to the left of the bonfire, as shown in the picture below.

Head up the staircase and past the open window to see the wonderful shotgun in all its glory. You don’t need to unlock any casing or complete a puzzle in order to acquire it. Simply grab it, open fire on the villagers, and enjoy!

Savage Mutt is the eighth request you can get in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Handing in this request to the Merchant will reward you with Spinels to trade for various unique rewards. However, completing the request can be a little tricky, but don’t worry, here at God is a Geek, we’ve got all the information you need to complete the request. Read on for everything you need to know about the Savage Mutt request in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Resident Evil 4 remake Savage Mutt request details

General Information

Request: Savage Mutt

Where to find the Request

In Chapter 5, you’ll need to escape the Church and surrounding area with Ashley in tow. This can prove quite difficult given the amount of Ganados to get passed. Once you reach the Merchant outside the Town Hall, you’ll know you are safe. And it is here that this Request will now appear for the first time. To the left of the door leading to the Town Hall, you’ll see it up on the wall.

Request Details

I need someone to get rid of the wild dog that’s been roaming around the village.

It’ll be easy to spot; it’s not like normal dogs.

Area: Village Chief’s Manor

Reward: Spinel x8

Progress: 0/1

Cutoff Point: You must finish this quest before the end of Chapter 5. The point of no return is crossing the rope bridge from the Farm towards the extraction point once you have rescued Ashley. It makes sense to complete this request in Chapter 4 as it’s easy to do.

Resident Evil 4 remake Savage Mutt solution

Find the Savage Mutt

The first thing you’ll want to do is actually find the foe you’ll need to take down. And that’s trickier than it might seem. The Request Details mention the Mutt is roaming around the Village, but then the Area on the request mentions the Village Chief’s Manor. And if you check your map that seems to confirm the Chief’s Manor too. So where is the Mutt?

Well if you travel to the Chief’s Manor – and you absolutely should, not least to access the loft space above the Chief’s bedroom now that you have Ashley in tow. But the dog doesn’t appear to be anywhere. It isn’t inside the house, or at the front or rear of it either.

What it seems you need to do is actually return to the Village from the Chief’s Manor direction. And that seems to spawn the Savage Mutt as you approach the main Village area.

How to kill the Savage Mutt

The Savage Mutt is a larger, tougher and more aggressive version of the dogs you meet that have been taken over by Las Plagas. As such it is a formidable foe for this stage in the game. Your best bet is to focus on Shotgun blasts when the dog is close to you, to give yourself some space and to avoid being hit.

Once there is space between the two of you, resort to your handgun towards the head (ideally) or body. If you’re running low on ammo, then the TMP is a good shout, but try to make as many bullets hit rather than spray and pray. The dog is quick, so the TMP isn’t often the best choice for accuracy.

As with most enemies, be aware of any melee opportunities, and especially look out for when the dog is writhing on the ground and you can get a knife attack in to conserve ammunition. Eventually, the Savage Mutt should go down, and don’t forget to loot the body for treasure.

Congratulations you can now turn in the Savage Mutt request for Resident Evil 4 Remake to the Merchant to bag your Spinels.

The post How long to beat Resident Evil 4 Remake appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

As one of the biggest games of the first half of 2023, people will want to know how long it takes to beat Resident Evil 4 Remake. There’s plenty of time to spend with the game, and it’s the biggest release until we get into the likes of Redfall and Tears of the Kingdom, but the Resident Evil series hasn’t always been that long, often offering speed-running options.

For example, Resident Evil 2 Remake can be finished in under an hour if you’re a speed-runner. But Resident Evil 4 was one of the longest games in the series, even in 2005, and fans will be glad to know that if anything, the remake is even longer. With more cut-scenes, side-quests, and more mechanics, if you want to know how much time you’ll be spending in order to beat Resident Evil 4 Remake, you’re in the right place.

Resident Evil 4 Remake: how long is it?

If you’re playing on the standard difficulty and play through while exploring, doing a good amount of side-quests (requests), and are of an average skill-level, you can expect to complete Resident Evil 4 Remake in 16-17 hours.

Resident Evil 4 Remake: how long to beat

There are a lot of variable that can affect how long it takes to beat, however. There are a host of brand new “requests” in the game, and while some are simple, such as shooting blue targets (returning from the original), there are some harder ones that require a bit more pixel hunting.

What are the factors that determine how long it takes me?

Difficulty is a huge factor in what defines the length of Resident Evil 4 Remake. On assisted (unlocked if you die a few times) for example, you are given an aim assist, lots more ammo, and will generally find it a whole lot easier. Likewise, the hardcore mode (for veterans, apparently) is brutal even in the early village sections, with limited ammo, enemies who will seemingly never drop, and other factors making it harder.

What are the factors that determine how long it takes me?

There are also optional requests (side missions) that can add a huge amount of time, as they offer up entirely new content, such as mini-boss battles. These are entirely optional, but you’ll be rewarded for completing them, so if you do these, you’ll up your completion time to around 18 hours.

Destroy the Blue Medallions 2 is the fifth request you can get in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Handing in this request to the Merchant will reward you with Spinels to trade for various unique rewards. However, completing the request can be a little tricky, but don’t worry, here at God is a Geek, we’ve got all the information you need to complete the request. Read on for everything you need to know about the Destroy the Blue Medallions 2 request in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Resident Evil 4 remake Destroy the Blue Medallions 2 request details

General Information

Request: Destroy the Blue Medallions 2

Where to find the Request

In Chapter 3, beyond the Church and the high wooden structure area, you’ll approach the Quarry. Before you enter the main open Quarry area with the crows and dogs inside, you should see the Request nailed to some wood to the left of your main path.

Request Details

Is there anyone who can destroy those blue medallions!? The area is polluted by their presence and I can’t bear it!

Area: Quarry ~ Fish Farm

Reward: Spinel x4

Progress: 0/5

Cutoff Point: You must finish this quest before the end of Chapter 5. The point of no return is crossing the rope bridge from the Farm towards the extraction point once you have rescued Ashley. It makes sense to complete this request in Chapter 3 as you will be visiting the areas you need to naturally anyway.

Resident Evil 4 remake Destroy the Blue Medallions 2 solution

First Blue Medallion

Resident Evil 4 Remake Destroy the Blue Medallions 2

The first Blue Medallion is in the main Quarry area itself just beyond where you find the Request. Deal with the dogs in the open area, then pause and look skywards. In the distance, you’ll see the Blue Medallion hanging from some wooden scaffolding. Get out your rifle and scope, and zoom in to give you a better chance of shooting it with a single bullet. As you’ll see from the screenshot above, you can also shoot some treasure here from a lamp hanging.

Second Blue Medallion

Resident Evil 4 Remake Destroy the Blue Medallions 2

Keep pushing forward, beyond the next Merchant until you reach the Lake area. From here you can work your way to the jetty where boat is to go and investigate out into the lake. You’ll realise it is out of fuel and will need to explore the Fish Farm to find it. Before you leave though, turn around, and look underneath the wooden structures behind you and you should see the next Blue Medallion that you can take out.

Third Blue Medallion

The final three Medallions are found in the Fish Farm area. As you enter it, you’ll end up falling into the water, and rousing the interest of a few Ganados. Deal with them until things calm down. Then make your way up the ramp in front of you out of the water. Ahead of you will be a small shack with a red and white life ring outside the doorway. Look inside and slightly to the right and you’ll see the next Medallion hanging there.

Fourth Blue Medallion

Resident Evil 4 Remake Destroy the Blue Medallions 2

Keep pushing forward into the Fish Farm, back into the water, dealing with new Ganados threats, including those shooting you from up on high. Move to the right, and look for a new ramp to your right giving you access to a new raised area. Be careful here of enemies and explosive tripwires. From the ramp, turn left and head as far along as you can before reaching some crates and other detritus. Turn left and jump into the water. Then turnaround and head under the walkway through the water. Under the boardwalk to your right is the next Medallion.

Fifth Blue Medallion

Resident Evil 4 Remake Destroy the Blue Medallions 2

Once you’ve grabbed the Boat Fuel from the end building, it’s time to exit the Fish Farm, but not without nabbing the final Blue Medallion. Head out, and look for a ladder to your right, to access the high ground. Be wary of additional Ganados that have entered the area now you have the fuel, you should see them from your high viewpoint wandering around with torches. Destroy the trip wire and then drop down back into the water. Head to your left and up the ramp, you ignored earlier (don’t forget to kill the Viper!) and from that ramp, look to your right and down slightly, and you should see the final Medallion to shoot.

Congratulations you can now turn in the Destroy the Blue Medallions 2 for Resident Evil 4 Remake into the Merchant to bag your Spinels.

The post Exoprimal is a chaotic online multiplayer experience so far | Hands-on impressions appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

While many Capcom fans are currently focusing on the Resident Evil 4 remake, Exoprimal currently has its open beta underway. The PvPvE 5v5 online shooter is utterly bonkers, and more often than not, I found myself spamming the trigger button during some chaotic gunfights, but there is something there for players who want to team up with friends this weekend. It may not be everyone’s choice when it comes to online shooters, and it’s not without its problems, however, there’s still time for some of the issues to be ironed out before launch.

In ‘Dino Survival,’ the one mode available to me in my preview, I joined a team of five as we took on wave upon wave of dinosaurs, before entering into a final battle that saw me not only trying to dispose of dinos, but the opposing team as well. Before joining a game, I was introduced to the main mechanics of Exoprimal is a tutorial that threw a lot at me, yet gave me a general outline of all the three main classes available: Assault, Tank, and Support. Each have different ‘heroes’ within the class, all with specific moves and abilities to make matches varied.

When I finally got into Dino Survival, I went with one of the Assault classes coolest looking characters. Deadeye uses an assault rifle, has a grenade launcher that can dispatch multiple dinosaurs at once, and a powerful laser that can clear anything in its path. Their ‘ultimate’ also allowed me to get in close and smash the crap out of enemies. During the stages of the mode, glowing purple spheres open up in the sky, and tons of dinosaurs pour out of them. Your job is to kill them quicker than the opponent by using all five of your team’s abilities to do so. With so much chaos on screen at any one time, I was never really sure how we were working together tactically, as it all happens so quickly.

I just made sure to blow up and kill as many dinosaurs as I could. If I was to play with friends as opposed to strangers, I can see how certain classes might work well together, but the action is so fast-paced, you’ll be giving out orders slowly that the act of wiping out the waves of dinosaurs would be happening. Still, throwing a grenade into a swarm of velociraptors and watching them fly through the air is an awesome sight. These waves do feel wholly weak compared to my powerful attacks, but when one of the waves sees you try and take out a massive triceratops or T-Rex, the challenge becomes greater.

The final stage will pit you against dinosaurs, but it’ll also challenge you to take out player-controller heroes. This stage felt like the most enjoyable as there was more at stake, not to mention being where the real strategy comes into play. It’s also worth mentioning how well Exoprimal performs. With so much happening on screen at any one time, it never failed in performance, with bullets flying in every direction, dinosaurs jumping at you from every direction, and carnage all around you. There’s certainly room for it to grow, and when it drops on Xbox Game Pass, it’ll be interesting to see how its player base does.

Exoprimal has potential, but I feel at this stage it needs more modes to provide an idea as to whether I’ll want to keep playing. Dino Survival is enjoyable, if a little chaotic, yet the variety in classes offer different ways to approach the waves of enemies. Some of the tanks became favourites of mine, specifically Roadblock, and when the bulk of the modes become available, I’ll be happy to get stuck in and give them a go. If you’re planning on jumping in, make sure you play with friends as there’ll be more opportunities to approach with strategy. Still, there’s a fun time to be had, and with more time under your belt, the nuances in enemy attacks and using abilities will start to show.

Exoprimal is coming to PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles on July 14th.

The post Street Fighter 6 will feature Hikaru Takahashi on commentary appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

The roster of commentators for Street Fighter 6 is getting bigger and bigger as we get nearer the June 2nd release, and Capcom has just announced Japanese actress Hikaru Takahashi as the latest to join the ranks.

Takahashi joins the roster not long after Thea Trinidad was announced back in January, and we’re slowly getting more and more info on Street Fighter 6 as we get closer to that final date. The full roster has been announced now, with Cammy, Zangief, and newcomer Lily rounding them out, so it’s tricky to know what more we could get to see now, aside the story mode, perhaps?

Back to Takahashi, though, you can hear her in action in the trailer, below:

This brings the Street Fighter 6 colour commentary team up to a total of eight now, and while Takahashi is perhaps not as well known outside of Japan, as one YouTube Commentator said, “Capcom clearly knows their Japanese audience, I’ll give them that”. Takahashi has featured in a variety of TV dramas, while also featuring inn movies like A Living Promise, and last year’s Mr Osomatsu.

Myself and Sean Smith played the game last year, and it blew us away. Sean said “I feel as though even after little over an hour in its clutches, I could pen another few thousand words on Street Fighter 6, such was its impact. It feels like a huge step forward for a series that was, quite frankly, desperate for a reinvention and overhaul. To say that I am this impressed, this early in its lifespan, bodes extremely well for the future. I am already planning on treating myself to a shiny new arcade stick when this one drops”.

Street Fighter 6 is coming to PC, Xbox Series S|X, PS4, and PlayStation 5 on June 2nd.

]]>

Capcom‘s “definitely not testing the waters for Dino Crisis” Dino-hunting game Exoprimal release date has been confirmed as July 14th, 2023. This was revealed via a trailer released that shows off a lot more of the narrative that’s behind the title.

Described as an “online team-based action” game, the new trailer that confirms the Exoprimal release date states “online-only game”, but goes on to show a lot more story content might be present than you’d normally expect from this type of game. Check out the new trailer, below:

There will be an open beta test, meaning you can try it for free with no pre-order necessary, taking place on Friday 17th March and running until Sunday 19th March, and you can sign up for that here. You will need a Capcom ID and to have linked it to your relevant platforms, and Capcom says the goals of the test are to “observe the play experience of its participants, and to inspect the server load generated by matchmaking via worldwide cross-platform play. This will allow us to fix any issues that are discovered and also implement various quality improvements”.

The developer notes that “As such, issues such as game freezes or crashes may occur during this open beta period. This game is still under development, so we cannot guarantee a stable gameplay experience. We appreciate your understanding regarding this matter”.

There will be survey sent out after the beta test for more feedback, and if you complete that you’ll get an in-game bonus that can be used in the retail version of the game when it comes out. The beta test will take place on PC (Steam, Windows Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X, and it’ll feature the tutorial, training mode, and dino survival mode, along with three maps (Downtown, Airport, Ruins).

Exoprimal is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X on July 14th.

After first coming to Switch, then PC, Monster Hunter Rise has slowly rolled out to all formats, and now the massive expansion Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is now coming to Xbox and PlayStation consoles on April 28th.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak adds a new story, new monsters, locations, more gear, and a large endgame, and similar to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, it just makes the game so much bigger. Check out the announcement trailer for the new Xbox and PlayStation version, below:

Mick reviewed the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak back in June 2022, giving it a full 10/10, saying: “New monsters, skills, weapons, armour, and tactical options breathe new life into the old grind. Whether you’re hunting solo or with friends, or tagging in NPC support to grind for those rare drops, it revitalises the already superb experience and ups the challenge for veterans hankering after a true test of their mettle. I cannot recommend it enough”.

Mick also covered the PS5 version of the base game that hit inn January 2023, saying “That said, the Sunbreak content is definitely heading our way soon, and so we can’t complain too much. Monster Hunter Rise on PS5 is still a fantastic experience – especially for newcomers or fans of World who, until now, have been unable to get stuck into Rise. Whether it’s the best Monster Hunter to date is a subject of fierce debate, but either way it’s still a fantastic entry to the series and a solid jumping-off point for new players”.

Turns out he was right, as the Sunbreak content is heading our way on April 28th, a mere three months after the main game was released.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X on April 28th, and is out now for PC and Nintendo Switch.

The highly anticipated Resident Evil 4 demo has been given a release date and it’s… right now! The Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Demo is on PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series S|X free for all to try ahead of the March 24th release date.

The Resident Evil 4 demo was announced during the recent PlayStation State of Play, and as expected, will feature an early part of the game. This particular demo is not timed, however, and features the tagline “Survival is only the beginning”. There’s a very short trailer for the demo been released, which you can see below:

For those who can’t wait until the March 24th release date, the demo will give you a good look at the visuals and some of the new combat. For example, we’d highly recommend trying to take out the chainsaw man, and remember you can hit L1 to parry blade based attacks. Yes, even that one.

We had a chance to play the remake of Resi 4 back inn October, and loved what we played. I said “The more sandbox-feeling to that opening section has well and truly wet my whistle, and frankly, while it never felt “necessary”, having played it, Resident Evil 4 remake now feels vital and I cannot wait to get stuck in to more. I may not have re-met the merchant yet, but to answer his classic question: I’ll be buying Resi 4 remake, that’s for damn sure”.

Even more recently, we had a viewing of some later games stuff, which Lyle explained, saying “I can’t recall a hands off preview ever getting me as excited for an upcoming game as this Resident Evil 4 preview did, and as far as I’m concerned March 23rd can’t come soon enough. With modernised gameplay, spectacular visuals and more than a few new additions, I wouldn’t be surprised if this remake is one of the best games of the year.”.

The post Resident Evil 4 remake has more than a few new additions | Hands-off preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Resident Evil 4 was the first Resident Evil (and subsequently Survival Horror) game I ever played. As a young teen I was absolutely terrified of anything even remotely spooky, and even The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and its ReDeads were too much for me. I’m not sure what possessed me to play an actual horror game given my nervous disposition, but I’m glad I did. It instantly became one of my favourite video games of all time, and now eighteen years later I’m almost embarrassingly excited for the upcoming remake.

I was fortunate enough to get access to a video showing just shy of twenty minutes of Resident 4 Remake gameplay for this hands off preview, and in that timeframe got to see some really exciting parts of the game. I got to see Ramon, Krauser and even the merchant, as well as a whole load of new and returning mechanics.

Resident Evil 4

The most exciting new element of Resident Evil 4 Remake that I can’t wait to experience is the melee combat. The knife plays a much more vital role in Leon’s adventure this time around, and because of this the combat as a whole seems much more fluid. Gone are the days of slowly walking backwards and hitting headshots with a pistol, now fighting Las Plagas features badass knife parrying and stylish gun and melee combos.

The first stop on our tour of Resident Evil 4 took us to the lake, and saw Leon exploring the area, checking out some puzzles and picking up a side quest. You read that right, new to the remake are requests that ask you to bring items to certain people. The one featured in this presentation asked for a Golden Egg, so I guess those chickens had better watch out.

Resident Evil 4

Next Leon met with The Merchant, who is just as iconic as ever. His new, less gravelly voice will take a bit of getting used to, but while shopping in his store and upgrading weapons there were a ton of new voice lines that really helped show off his new and improved personality. While shopping we also stopped off at a typewriter where Leon can now store his weapons and customise his case. The inventory management will be familiar to fans of the original game, but there are options to change up your carry case and the charms attached to it for additional little bonuses. The amount of modernisation of this classic feels like just the right amount, and will hopefully make the game more palatable for new players while adding new mechanics to try for veterans.

After finishing his shopping, Leon wandered headfirst into the second act of the game and to the castle. It was here that the visual beauty of the game really became apparent, with the dramatic lighting of the fiery torches really amping up the atmosphere. We also got to spend some time with Ashley, who’s new design really suits the remade game, and see what protecting her is going to entail this time around.

Resident Evil 4

I think most people would be willing to admit that keeping Ashley safe was one of the less enjoyable aspects of Resident Evil 4 back on the GameCube, so I was glad to see that a small but significant change has been made on that front. Seemingly at the push of a button you can tell Ashley to either stay close or keep her distance from our floppy haired protagonist, enabling you to either dive into the action without worrying about her getting mauled or keep her close and away from the baddies. It seems like this change will mean that one of the few less appealing parts of this survival horror masterpiece is no longer a hassle.

The final segment of the Resident Evil 4 Remake video featured the knife fight with Jack Krauser. What was once a slightly outdated quick time event marathon is now a full fledged one-on-one melee boss fight. Thanks to the new knife mechanics this new updated battle looks like an intense standoff, and one I’m excited to experience for myself.

I can’t recall a hands off preview ever getting me as excited for an upcoming game as this Resident Evil 4 preview did, and as far as I’m concerned March 23rd can’t come soon enough. With modernised gameplay, spectacular visuals and more than a few new additions, I wouldn’t be surprised if this remake is one of the best games of the year.

Capcom has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Resident Evil 4 that shows lots more footage, and also the fact a demo is coming soon.

Unveiled at the February 23rd PlayStation “State of Play” broadcast, the new trailer gives us a glimpse at a lot more footage that’s later in the game. Having previewed the very early part of Resident Evil 4 remake, I felt it would be interesting to see more of the later stuff, because while the early part I played feels faithful, but has clever changes, we all know it just gets more weird as the game goes on.

The two and a half minute trailer (below) shows off some combat with Krauser, more of Ashley, and even reveals that Mercenaries mode will be DLC for the game. Capcom also say that “to help hold fans over until March 24, the Resident Evil 4 demo has been announced”, though only added that “more information about the release timing of the demo and “The Mercenaries” DLC will be shared at a later date”.

Lastly, of note, Capcom reveals that a deluxe edition of the game is available for pre-order, and those who “pre-order the Standard Edition will receive in-game rewards, including the “Attaché Case: Gold” and “Special Charm: Handgun Ammo,” while pre-orders of the Deluxe Edition also include the “Attaché Case: Classic” and “Special Charm: Green Herb” items. These customization items offer specific in-game abilities when equipped”.

When I played Resident Evil 4 for preview back in October 2022, I said that “I wanted more. I’m dying to know what has changed for parts of the game further in. The more sandbox-feeling to that opening section has well and truly wet my whistle, and frankly, while it never felt “necessary”, having played it, remake now feels vital and I cannot wait to get stuck in to more. I may not have re-met the merchant yet, but to answer his classic question: I’ll be buying Resi 4 remake, that’s for damn sure”.

Excuse the gushing every time it’s mentioned, but Street Fighter 6 is looking seriously good. Not content with impressing both myself and Sean when we got a hands on preview last year, the fighter roster has slowly been getting bigger. Right after announcing the likes of Dhalsim and Guile to ensure the roster of 18 will include all eight of the original fighters from Street Fighter, now Capcom has announced Cammy, Zangief, and newcomer Lily will be part of the launch roster.

We’ve got the trailer that was shown at the Sony State of Play for you below, along with Capcom’s official descriptions of each of the three newly announced fighters. Lily is from the same tribe as T. Hawk, which got me thinking how much I enjoyed playing as T. Hawk back in the day. Anyway, trailer time…

Cammy: First appearing in Super Street Fighter II, the cat-loving Cammy returns with her beloved arsenal of high-powered attacks, including Spiral Arrow, Cannon Spike, and Hooligan Combination. The Heavy version of each of those three moves has been enhanced to allow for a delay and altered properties or damage. Visit King Street, Cammy’s foggy, industrial stage, and perform Super Art moves like the Killer Bee Spin and Delta Red Assault to send opponents to their knees and get the crowd buzzing.

Zangief: Rumbling his way onto the scene is the immense Zangief, an original World Warrior who loves to show off for the crowd at Barmaley Steelworks. A professional wrestler by trade, Zangief keeps hold of his trademark throws like the Screw Piledriver and Siberian Express, picking up new moves like the counter throw Tundra Storm. His Level 2 Super Art Cyclone Lariat and Level 3 Super Art Bolshoi Storm Buster are sure to be crowd-pleasers.

Lily: A new addition to the roster, Lily will seem familiar to some as she is a descendant of the Thunderfoot tribe, the same tribe as the iconic T. Hawk who was first seen in Super Street Fighter II. Small but mighty, Lily speaks with the spirits of nature at her home in the vibrant Thunderfoot Settlement and defeats enemies with her ferocious Condor Dive, Condor Spire, and Tomahawk Buster. Condor Wind will grant one Windclad stock, which powers up each of the aforementioned moves. Lily wields her war clubs to barrage opponents in her Level 1 Super Art Breezing Hawk and slams her enemies to the ground with her Level 3 Super Art Raging Typhoon.

It has to be said, as a fan of both Cammy and Zangief, they both look fantastic in the new Street Fighter 6 aesthetic, and I can’t wait to get my hands on them both.

Street Fighter 6 is coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on June 2, 2023.

Developer A PLUS Japan has announced its upcoming RPG mobile title Street Fighter: Duel will be coming this month, with pre-registration available now for both Android phones (via Google Play) and iOS devices on the App Store.

Street Fighter: Duel was first released by TOPJOY, a part of Tencent Games along with Capcom in China back in November 2020, but with mobile games still not losing popularity, big name franchises like this were always going to start coming to the West.

Street Fighter: Duel brings back the iconic stages of the franchise, such as the airfield, bathhouse, night scene, etc. Also, the game has optimized the visual effects for mobile phones and made the stages more realistic and vivid.

The gameplay is optimized for mobile platforms with game modes such as character training and arena. Mechanics like auto combos and EX-Move are also added to make the game enjoyable for everyone.

The game has a big roster of fighters and offers game mechanics to improve them. In this game, everyone has a chance to get their favourite fighter and build them to the top. With this unique character system, you will gain a sense of accomplishment when each of the fighters levels up.

These new features will bring a unique combat experience to the players in the official version that will be released this February.

As you can see from the screenshot above, there’s a lot going on in this one, while the official website shows what looks like a battle pass offering rewards that show at least three currencies for the game.

There appears to be a story, with the official site saying “An astonishing conspiracy is about to be revealed! Join Ryu and Ken on their journey to the Fighting Tournament, and take this adventure. Clear the missions, and become the strongest!”. It also seems there’s a good range of modern and old fighters, including the obvious like Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Cammy, but Akuma and Juri are also pictured in the key art, and while they’re hardly unknowns, they aren’t quite the same “well known” fighters as Ken and Ryu, etc.

Capcom has announced details of the next Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak update, which will be free title update 4, and it seems there’s a lot of new content coming on February 7th when the update hits.

Announced during the latest digital event for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Bahari the scientist revealed more frosty-based foes, Anomaly Research content, event quests, and even some new paid DLC as well.

You can check out the details on the free title update 4 in the trailer below, and underneath that we’ve got the official information from Capcom for you.

A frigid force of nature few scientists have ever seen is making its way to the Frost Islands. Velkhana, the elusive Elder Dragon that debuted as the flagship monster of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, has been spotted by the scouts of Elgado Outpost. This monster’s gracefully cold demeanor foreshadows the serene stillness of the many beings left frozen in its wake. By glaciating the ambient water in the air, Velkhana is capable of forming massive pillars of ice when engaged in combat, and can even freeze the most hot-headed hunters solid.

Winter winds often bring fell tidings, and the arrival of Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax proves this adage true. Just what this Risen Elder Dragon is capable of remains a mystery, as it has been deemed too dangerous for study. Hunters dedicated to gathering more data for their relentlessly inquisitive science teams can face Velkhana starting at MR 10 and Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax starting at MR 160. Any materials gathered in these excursions will of course be invaluable for crafting new weapons and armor featuring their own unique skills.

The Qurio-curious will also have new Anomaly Research at their fingertips as well, with Afflicted Chaotic Gore Magala joining the A8★ Quests, and the Anomaly Investigation cap rising to 220. Elder Dragons will begin appearing from difficulty level 111 onward, so be prepared for a fight! Event Quests will continue to arrive every week, including two new Dual Threat quests featuring Seething Bazelgeuse and Chaotic Gore Magala, alongside an Arena Quest with Furious Rajang and Scorned Magnamalo. Every Event Quest has its own unique reward, so be sure to give them a try.

While update 5 is also due to come in April 2023, this fourth update also adds some new paid DLC “including layered armour for rookie hunter Lance Gunn and the venerable Ran Page”. These armour pieces are drawn by Minoto, who also has a paid layered armour set along with new gestures, poses, stickers, music, and hunter voices.

You can also sign up for a free Palamute layered armour that makes them look like Elder Dragon Velkhana.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is out now for PC and Switch, while the base game is also now available on Xbox and PlayStation.
