25 years ago on Japan, the first disc-based video game console released. Nobody knew the huge impact it would have on the world in the years that followed, but as we look back on its incredible history, some of the team let you know their favourite game to grace four generations of play. It’s been an incredible journey, and to pick just one game out of thousands is no easy feat, but we’ve done it.

Mick Doherty, Final Fantasy VIII (PlayStation, 1999)

My favourite PlayStation game has to be Final Fantasy VIII. I know there’s some intolerance for it, thanks to FF7VII being the favourite, but I first played this going into high school and could instantly relate to Squall, as well as some of the other characters.

The fact that I was starting my journey into high school and here I am playing a game filled with similarly aged characters in high school just resonated with me. Squall came across as a bit of a loner and not wanting to rely on anyone was quite similar to me at that time. Heading to a place where I didn’t know anyone, I found solace in a character that seemed to emulate some of my pre-teen/teenage thoughts.

It may have been the thing to help me open up a little as I saw each character grow and go through their own development. This took me a while to complete so this realisation took a little while.

Overall the story is over the top sci-fi fantasy fun but the characters just totally sell it for me. Not to mention the fact that the GF’s/Summons/whatever you call them look pretty epic. The music is also fantastic and goes along with probably one of the best openings to a video game ever. That gunblade fight is nothing to be sniffed at. Thanks to the characters and the emotional/overall development, Final Fantasy VIII is one of my most played, and all time favourite, games.

Chris Hyde, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PlayStation 3, 2011)

I joined a bit later than some to the Sony party, having been a self-confessed Nintendo fanboy as a younger lad. Sure I’d dabbled with my brother’s PSOne and PS2, but purchasing my own PS3 was a big step. It seems fitting then that the first game I bought for my own Sony console turned out to be my favourite.

Bethesda’s sprawling fantasy adventure absolutely consumed me. Clocking in at over 200 hours played (and I’m probably being conservative there), it’s a game I’d happily go back to now and while away the hours Fus Ro Dahing unfortunate animals off mountaintops. The unashamed freedom the game gives you to build your character, play your way, and quite frankly go wherever you like in its world still amazes me. The depth of lore, characters and detail crammed into one game meant I’d discover new side quests and NPCs across multiple playthroughs. No wonder I got the Platinum twice – once on PS3 and then on PS4, because who doesn’t have multiple copies of the game by now!

But beyond the lush environments, the rousing musical score, the sheer number of items to loot, the magic and dragons, there was something else that makes this game special to me. It hooked my wife back onto console gaming, and became the staple “our game” where we’d discuss adventures and watch each other play with interest. As scary as it sounds she’s easily put more hours into Skyrim than I have, and made countless characters to boot. True, it means she hogs the TV more than I’d like, and I only have myself to blame when she discovered the Fallout series, and more recently The Outer Worlds.

However, it’s Tamriel we always return to with a great deal of fondness. We both adore it, and wait with baited breath for The Elder Scrolls 6. 2025 can’t come soon enough.

Gary Bailey, Resident Evil (PlayStation, 1996)

I will never forget the first time I played Resident Evil. Christmas morning of 1996, around 6am, young Gaz opened his shiny new copy of Capcom’s soon-to-be classic. I headed into the front room, switched off the lights and loaded up the PlayStation. It wasn’t long before I was terrified by that zombie introduction (poor Kenneth) and the dogs smashing through the windows but, more importantly, it wasn’t long before I was completely in love.

The use of matte backgrounds and full 3D characters made it look amazing at the time. The FMV intro sequence was astonishingly bad, which somehow only added to its charm. I mean, the voice acting was terrible throughout, yet Resident Evil was still terrifying and it set the scene for a series that shaped the entire survival horror genre and has remained close to my heart to this very day. Indeed, the original game is still my favourite. Sure the Gamecube remake was technically better and certainly more atmospheric, but the PlayStation version had just captured my imagination so thoroughly that I can honestly say it’s my first choice.

The original game’s cast is still the best, too. Barry Burton with his massive gun (heh) and dad-like personality, Wesker and his pantomime villainy, Chris Redfield before he got heavily into weightlifting, and of course Jill Valentine, the master of unlocking. I’m still waiting for her return to the series. Are you listening, Capcom?

Simply put, without Resident Evil and without the PlayStation, the horror genre would not be where it is today. Thankfully, both exist and I’m all the happier for it.

Chris White, The Last of Us (PlayStation 3, 2013)

PlayStation introduced me to a whole new way of gaming, and I’m so grateful to the many games that helped shaped the way I view storytelling and innovation through the digital platform. I remember getting the original PlayStation for Christmas as a surprise after opening everything else, and when I pulled back the wrapping and saw it – along with a copy of Die Hard Trilogy – I knew gaming would never be the same again.

It was hard to pick a game to celebrate 25 years of PlayStation because there have been so many I’ve felt great affection for, but I remember the profound affect The Last of Us had on me that it just had to be Naughty Dog’s monumental post-apocalyptic tale of love and loss. In the opening moments, my heart broke as Joel had to say goodbye after his daughter was shot by that soldier. That whole scene set the tone of the game, and as the tears rolled down my face I knew that this was only the beginning.

The story was phenomenal. Joel and Ellie’s relationship blossomed through the hardships they faced, and when that moment came at the end when he had to hide what he’d done from her I was with him. I understood. He had lost the one thing that gave him the will to live, and Ellie had managed to fill that hole that she’d left, and he wasn’t going to lose someone else. As a father myself, I empathised with him, not just in the game’s final moments but throughout. He grew to love Ellie like his own daughter. I felt that connection and in turn, Ellie became my daughter – my responsibility.

Throughout my journey will Joel and Ellie across a broken America, The Last of Us became incredibly special to me, and even now, I find time every year to go back to that world and replay the heartbreaking story of two very important characters all over again. With the release next year of its sequel – whether it’s good or not – I will always have The Last of Us, and I’m eternally grateful to Naughty Dog and PlayStation for that.

Arc System Works’ and PQube Games’ UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late[st] sees another new character spotlight this week, focusing on Mika.

Blessed with superhuman strength and some pretty oversized armoured gauntlets (seriously, they’re as big as she is), Mika is described as a highly mobile grappling character, two things that don’t often go together in these games.She can launch herself at enemies like a missile, moving about the screen with great speed in order to attack from weird angles.

Her move set includes Mika’s Missile, which launches her across the screen horizontally or diagonally (from the ground or in the air) and can be followed up with ‘Mika’s Homing Missile’, perfect for converting near-misses into combos.

Her command throw is ‘Mika’s Cannon’ which sees Mika lunge forward to grab her enemy before blasting them into the air, leaving them open for follow-up attacks. The EX version moves faster and allows her to grab from almost full-screen distance.

Other moves include ‘Mika’s Tornado’, an uppercut-style attack; her Force Function is ‘Mika’s Crash’, sending her crashing diagonally down into her opponent with a rocket-powered punch; ‘Mika’s Revolution’ is her Infinite Worth (with a full super meter), a flying punch that then smashes her enemies into the ground; and ‘Mika’s Galaxy’, her Infinite Worth EXS that can only be performed with a full super meter and when she’s at under 30% health, which throws opponents into the air before she crashes into them with a powered up version of Mika’s Missile.

Sony just announced that production for the PS3 has now ended in Japan.

The final PS3 model that was still being sold in Japan has had its production ended. This comes from the official product page that you can view here. The PS3 had a rocky start for sure but the way it recovered was pretty damn amazing. It has been over a decade since it launched and it is finally time for the PS3 to rest. The last remaining model sold in Japan was the 500GB standard model.

This trailer and interview focus on Futaba Sakura and her voice actress. Erica Lindbeck voices the 15 year old Futaba. Futaba’s persona is Necronomicon that looks like a UFO. Check out the character trailer below:

Originally slated for October, The Last Guardian has hit a new delay which see the game moved back to a December 6 date.

To say the title has had a tumultuous development would be putting it mildly. It was a promise that made many pick up PS3s, only for us to see it moved to PlayStation 4 at E3 2015. It’s been in official development for nine years now, so realistically a delay of less than two months is nothing in the grand scheme of things.

In a post on the US PlayStation Blog President of SCE Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida stated that he and the developers ‘appreciate your continued support.’ and states that the delay is to ensure they can ‘deliver the most polished experience possible’, which is fair enough, because no one wants to release a buggy, unfinished game after such a long development process.

Many have high hopes for The Last Guardian, me included, so I’d rather see the game released to its full potential rather than rushed out the door. At least we’ll get it in time for Christmas.

Sony has announced the return of Crash Bandicoot through remasters of the first three original games, made “from the ground up”. It was also announced Crash will be included in Skylanders Imaginators as a playable character and toy, coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in October.

2K has announced that WCW and WWE legend Bill Goldberg will be WWE 2K17’s pre-order bonus. If you pre-order the game through certain retailers, you’ll be able to play two variations of Goldberg at launch from when he was in WCW and WWE. There will also be two arenas available with pre-orders: WCW Nitro and Halloween Havoc.

“After 12 years away from the business, I’m incredibly honoured to work with WWE and 2K while following in the footsteps of such greats as Ultimate Warrior, Sting and Arnold Schwarzenegger,” said Goldberg. “My son was a big part of this coming together, and I can’t wait for him to see his dad kicking ass in a WWE ring through the magic of video games.”

It’s quite an interesting move on WWE’s part, as Goldberg was a fan favourite in both companies, seeing a record 173 straight wins in his WCW days between 1997 and 1998. As you’ll see in the trailer, there’s a reflection on a street sign that reads ‘Suplex City’, a phrase synonymous with one of Goldberg’s biggest WWE rivals Brock Lesnar. It doesn’t seem like all that long ago that the Valkyria Chronicles remaster was announced, but now we know we’ll be getting it in the West this Spring.

As is the case with remasters the game will come complete in 1080p and will run at 60 frames per second. It will also come complete with all of its downloadable content included on the disc.

Over in America pre-orders will get a rather lovely looking steelbook. It’s a shame it’s not coming to Europe, but it does mean the game is seeing a physical release alongside the digital version.

With Yakuza 5 recently releasing in the UK, Sega has released some exciting footage of the sixth entry in the series which was shown at a 10th anniversary event held in Japan.

From this early demo trailer, we see series protagonist Kiryu Kazuma high-tailing it around the city of Kamurocho in stunning current gen visuals. Everything looks so much better, with combat showing more fluidity and the city illuminating the screen with overwhelming detail.

Yakuza 6 will be released in Japan next year exclusively on PS4. There is no word on when we can expect it over here, but you can play Yakuza 5 on PS3 right now. Keep your eyes peeled for a review of the game on GodisaGeek very soon.

There is no denying that the Metal Gear series has millions of fans the world over, and means so much to so many. For 28 years, Hideo Kojima has figure-headed one of the most innovative and original gaming franchises ever, and its stories have been hugely entertaining and profound, providing a vast legacy for  its two main characters: Solid Snake and Big Boss.

In this touching video, the work of Hideo Kojima is celebrated by those in the games industry and those that have worked closely with him over the course of the series; however, it is within the last few minutes that we truly see how important these games mean to people.

“The players are everything, without them nothing would matter,” say Kojima in the video, and with all of the negativity coming from Konami and Kojima’s public dispute over the last few months, this quote from Hideo Kojima brings everything into perspective.

Originally announced in September 2014, Sony’s Home service has closed its doors. Residents have been evicted and game spaces closed. The service had so much promise when it was first announced, but it was never able to truly live up to that and users dwindled to next to nothing.

Namco Bandai have today confirmed the date we can expect to see Project Cars on store shelves..

Project CARS, the decidedly gorgeous (on next-gen, at least) new racer from Namco Bandai will be launching on November 21st on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC. The Wii U release will happen “later in 2015”. Hey, at least its coming to Wii U, eh! Better late than never.

Rockstar yesterday added 16 new jobs for GTA online, which complement the recent San Andreas Flight School update, with a variety of new Acquire Targets, Air Force Zero and G-Rating jobs to take part in, as well as some more Contact Missions, Air Races and Parachute Jumps.

Not only will these jobs be available separately, but also as part of a new Flight School Jobs Playlist that has been added to the game – which will reward gamers with double RP throughout this week, as well as unlocking the High Flyer Parachute Pack for those who hadn’t already got it.

The new jobs are as follows:

NEW CONTACT MISSIONS

As part of today’s update, two new Contact Missions are available to play (once you meet the rank requirement you’ll receive a phone call from the associated Contact):

Why don’t you go to Sandy Shores Airfield, hack into the Merryweather Network, find their outposts and then take their choppers and blow ’em all to hell. Okay? Great!”

Effin’ Lazers (Contact: Martin, Rank 44, 2 Players)
“The market’s about to be flooded with inferior product. I… WE… have too much invested in it to let that happen. I need you to get in some Lazer fighter jets and take out the planes holding product before they land. It sounds extreme, but these are desperate times.”

NEW RACES, PARACHUTE JUMPS & CAPTURE

Airstrip (Rank 11, 1-8 Players)
If a recruit shacks it on exercise, they don’t need the added humiliation of hitching back to the landing strip. Practice landing where you took off with this flowing descent from 4,300 ft. to McKenzie Airfield. On the way down you can admire the view or ruminate on failure.

Branching Out (Rank 20, 1-8 Players)
From the sea side to mountain peaks, from hikers to technophobic, cannibalistic cultists, from state parks to secret weed farms, the San Andreas wilderness has it all. Drink it in with this Lap Race for choppers by Mount Chilliad and Raton Canyon.

Flying Colors (Rank 12, 1-8 Players)
Regulation Air Force exercises happen at high altitude over the ocean, but where’s the fun when you can’t get a feel for how fast you’re flying. Lap Race for planes low over rural Eastern Blaine County. How close to the dirt can you go without taking the head off a fruit picker?

Wingmen (Rank 1, 2-8 Players)
It’s a buyer’s market as rival groups attempt to deliver Buckingham military jets to LSIA. They’re vintage collectors’ items and they fly like it, so use Lazers for defense and attack. Each team will only have one Buckingham in play at any time. Start points are Fort Zancudo and the Sandy Shores Airfield.

High Dive (Rank 1, 1-8 Players)
Dive bomb Downtown in this point to point for jets. You start in the Tongva Hills, climb to high altitude, make a near vertical descent, and try to pull up at the last minute. It’s the highest climb and fall we’ve got on our books. You’ll make an impression or make an impression on the ground.

In The Loop (Rank 35, 1-8 Players)
Hold onto your lunch or you’ll need windshield wipers on the inside of your cockpit. Point to point for jets through the docks and Downtown. Obstacles to avoid and two loop the loops will keep you on your toes… or your head.

Under the Bridge (Rank 11, 1-8 Players)
Gravity does most of the hard work when you jump out a chopper from 4,000 ft. We’re going to make it a bit more interesting by staging the drop in the flight path, and making recruits go under a bridge. Best played at night, so you can see the warning lights on obstacles.

Ubisoft have moved Assassin’s Creed Unity’s release date. The upcoming action-adventure game will now be released on November 11 in the US and on November 13 in Europe. This will help ensure the game meets the fan’s and the team’s expectations.

“As we got close to the finish, we realized we were near the target but still needed a bit more time to hone some of the details to make sure Assassin’s Creed Unity is exceptional. We sincerely appreciate players’ commitment to the game and their patience. It’s just a couple more weeks. And it’s going to be worth it.” – Vincent Pontbriand, senior producer at Ubisoft.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue’s release date will remain unchanged and is still scheduled to be released on November 11 in the US and on November 13 in Europe.

Today, Deep Silver confirmed the release of  ESCAPE Dead Island, a third-person single-player survival mystery spin-off of the zombie series. ESCAPE Dead Island unravels the origins of the zombie outbreak and tells of the events behind the original hit game, and the recently announced successor Dead Island 2. ESCAPE Dead Island will be released on the 18^th November in North America and the 21^st November in the rest of the world for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC. The third installment in the LEGO Batman franchise will see The Dark Knight join forces with other DC superheroes from the comic universe and travel to outer space to stop the evil Brainiac from destroying Earth. The game will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita and PC on November 14, 2014. Codemasters recently released an Austrian Red Bull Ring Hot Lap video for their upcoming sporting racer; F1 2014. The video takes us around the Speilberg circuit, which is making it’s in-game debut. It is the first time the track has featured in an official Formula 1 video game from Codemasters and is one of four circuits which offer new gameplay experiences in F1 2014, including the new Sochi Circuit in Russia, the return of the Hockenheimring to the calendar which last held a race in 2012 and the Bahrain Grand Prix which was run as a night race for the first time in 2014. But how many of you giddy schoolkids were there? Well, developers; Bungie, released some stats on the BETA that many of us are missing already.

• 6.5 million Gaurdians were created, which is enough to populate the city of Seattle over ten times.
• Destiny reached it’s peak for simultaneous play when 853,255 players were active at the same fan on Saturday 26th July.
• Just under 1 million players used the companion app.
• On average, 20% of players’ time were spent in the Tower.

Every job, hold ups, gang attacks and other RP gaining activities will all earn players double of what they would usually receive. On a side note; This weekend will also be the last weekend for a chance to pick up the limited-time content from the GTA Online Independence Day Special. It features vehicles like the Sovereign motorcycle and the Liberator monster truck, weapons like the Musket and Firework Rocket Launcher and, of course, patriotic tees and masks so if you haven’t taken advantage and obtained any of these, you may want to act quickly.

The upcoming Lord Of The Rings title; Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor has been given a new release date. The good news is that it has not been pushed back – It has actually been given an earlier release date. Instead of the 7th of October, Shadow of Mordor will come out on October 3rd. It may have something to do with the fact that October 7th will see the release of NBA 2K15, Drive Club, among many others.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor delivers a vibrant game environment where the player orchestrates their personal plan of vengeance as they bend Mordor to their will. The game begins on the night of Sauron’s return to Mordor, as his Black Captains brutally execute the Rangers of the Black Gate. Players become Talion, a ranger who loses his family and everything he holds dear, only to be returned from death by a mysterious Spirit of vengeance.

We got a closer look at the Art of Hohokum in a dev diary video back in May, but now as the actual release date for the latest game from Honeyslug (developer of the insane and fun Frobisher Says!) Sony have released a new launch trailer for the game – although it doesn’t necessarily give much away about what the game involves.

Posted on the US PlayStation Blog, the video features a “Crazy lovable Hermit guy”, who is meant to give you somewhat of an idea of what you should expect from the game when it launches – but it is all a bit abstract. Hohokum is now available for pre-order, and those who do pre-purchase it will not only get it for a discounted price, but will also get a custom PS3 static theme and an exclusive Hohokum DLC pack for Sound Shapes.

Not only that, but for the $14.99 price, you get cross-platform play across PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. PS Plus members will get a whopping 20% off that price.

After a huge amount of success, the sequel to Farming Simulator has been announced, through screenshots. Already a hit, Farming Simulator’s successor; Farming Simulator 15 will look to plow through the already staggering sales figure of over 2 million copies sold, worldwide.

Farming Simulator will feature a new graphics and physics engine, new visual effects, a new interface, new gameplay mechanics and a vast new environment. It will offer the richest farming experience to hit PC and consoles. In the game, you will have to grow crops, sell produce, rear livestock, and manage and develop your own farming complex, in two open worlds; one being a Nordic setting. Use new machines like harvesters, chainsaws, trailers and chippers to accomplish these tasks. Check out some screenshots from the upcoming game. Tales of Xillia 2, developed by Bandai Namco Games, scheduled to come out late next month, has had some more character introductions. Developers; Bandai Namco have introduced Alvin and Elize to the upcoming PlayStation 3 release.

• Alvin: Once a spy, the confident and brash Alvin has turned over a new leaf and struggles to lead a simple, honest life as a salesman. With his friend Yurgen, they forge a partnership in a business enterprise together… but as Alvin soon learns, there’s nothing easy about living an honest life. Will he remain true to the straight and narrow path he has chosen? Or will his shady past inevitably catch up with him?
• Once painfully shy, Elize has warmed up considerably after the events of the first game and is more willing to trust others. However, she still looks for her own place in society, and yearns for companionship and acceptance from her peers. She eventually finds it in the form of her pen pal, Luna, but there may be more to her newfound friend than meets the eye.

Rockstar have announced 10 new online jobs will be coming to their massive hit game; Grand Theft Auto V. The developers, during the I Am Not A Hipster weekend, asked players to create custom GTA jobs, upload them and tag them #IMNOTAHIPSTER on Social Club for the chance to be Rockstar Verified, as well as GTA$1M and an exclusive HIPSTER vanity plate. 5 of these will now be added to the game along with another batch of user-created selections from recent months to round it off. The jobs are:

• Dubsta Warz – created by Darteyld
  Put the climbing ability of your new Dubsta to the test in this point-to-point Race where roads are for the weak. Starting out on Chumash Beach, get to the edge of the Grand Senora Desert as the crow flies, crossing mountains and scaling vertiginous slopes under twilight.
•  The 80’s Turf War – created by GAMRZ_UK_SLiCkZ3
  This neighborhood gang shootout uses over the top, action movie inspired weapons and careful placement of the cars included in the “I’m Not a Hipster” Update to give Grove Street a vintage feel. Players start with a Micro SMG and a handful of ammo, though more powerful weapons can be picked up if you can find them. The scarcity of ammo here encourages a varied approach, whether it’s stalking the rooftops or demonstrating that the bonnet of a Glendale is not the best cover when there are RPGs flying around.
•  Panto-monium Microcircuit – created by THEKerles
  Proving that the Panto isn’t just for old ladies and tree huggers, this intimate Lap Race is a test of car control and the ability to find the correct racing line. Expect tense bumper-to-bumper action, with very little runoff around some of the sharpest corners. You’ll want to make the most of the few overtaking opportunities available.
•  Swedish Folkrace – created by MaximilianR18
  Swedish Folkrace is a mixture of tarmac and off-road racing for inexpensive road vehicles – perfect for some of the cars featured in the “I’m Not a Hipster” Update. MaximilianR18 – a member of both the CREATOR CORE CLUB and GTA Content Creators Crews – has introduced this local pastime to GTA Online, adding slippery turns that make for an intense Lap Race with plenty of sideways action. As the description suggests, try this one in your customized Warrener.

• HIPSTER DEATH RALLY – created by diggzzzz
  The dirt roads by Senora Airstrip are the stage for this high speed off-road Race well suited to the “I’m Not a Hipster” Update cars. Watch out for the oil container on the first corner, or you could find yourself going out with the wrong kind of bang. There’s also a ramp around half way to potentially slow you down or, if you come off a slipstream at just the right time, provide an opportunity for a stylish aerial overtake.
•  The Coil – Created by Wormbo
  A hair-raising Race for Supercars that snakes around the oval ring roads at Los Santos International Airport and then down a sharp detour past the Sightings restaurant and back again. Prepare for white knuckles gripping steering wheels and game controllers as you hurtle around fast sweeping curves, along single track overpasses or through the chicanes and hairpins around the restaurant. Long narrow sections overlap several times, maximizing potential for some spectacular high-speed crashes.
•  The Los Santos Triangle – Created by Ma1evo1ent Cheese
  After the Verification of Farm Fresh, Ma1evo1ent Cheese comes up with the goods once again with this short, technical Race with tight, Grand Prix-style corners that will push your car handling skills to the breaking point. Leave traffic off and go with Non-Contact to ensure that there are no distractions as you gun each lap trying to improve on your personal best. The default Supercar class will get around the course pretty quick, so go for a full 4 laps to really get a feel for it.
•  Loop the Lake – created by twisterrk
  This is a beautifully simple Lap Race around the Vinewood Lake that provides fantastic views of the Vinewood sign, the Galileo Observatory and the Downtown Los Santos skyline. Aggressive maneuvers will pay off, but don’t be afraid to use the brake to avoid getting trapped behind the low tire walls at several corners. This Race plays well with most vehicle classes but try Muscle or Sports for a more technical challenge.
•  Pit Stop – Created by IckyQualms
  Thematically similar to previous verified Deathmatch Lodge Battle, this is a tight TDM map with plenty of hazards – don’t linger too long by the fuel tanks! Pit Stop takes place in an underappreciated area of the map just off the Palomino freeway. Head off-piste to find the lone sniper rifle or make a play for the array of melee weapons to get a jump on unsuspecting opponents coming around corners.
•  Retaliate – Created by gun_harmony
  A tight Deathmatch map that makes for a small, frantic 2-team TDM or compact free-for-all. A compact setup with good use of vertical space, plenty of cover and opportunities to flank the enemy team. Head in with your Crew for an 8v8 battle and seek retribution on any Crews you’ve got beef with.

With all of these new jobs available, it is going to be a lot of fun on Grand Theft Auto V’s multiplayer. See you in a Crew Battle!

That’s right, the Grammy award winner, best known for his hits; ‘Happy’ and featuring on Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’, looks set to curate the soundtrack for the sport game sensation. We all know that soundtracks for sports games are extremely important as you will be hearing those songs for an entire year, constantly, depending on how long you spend playing the game itself, so having Pharrell behind the wheel of creativity is a brilliant move on 2K’s part.

Skylanders will be making a special appearance at this year’s Lollibop Festival. The festival, which takes place at Hatfield House, between the 15th and 18th of August, will host Skylanders Trap Team, allowing fans of the franchise to play the game before its release in the UK.

Skylanders Trap Team will allow players to use the new portal and traptanium traps to draw villians out of the screen and into the physical world. The villains, when captured, can be put back into the digital world and used to fight for good to help save Skylands. Check out ‘The Discovery’ trailer, below.

2K have revealed the cover star for their latest installment in the grappler series; WWE 2K15. It is none other than 15-time World Champion; John Cena! That’s right, the man who is on top of the WWE Universe right now, will now be on the front of the new game. The former ‘Doctor of Thuganomics’ has said on being the cover star:

“It is truly an honour and privilege to serve as the WWE 2K15 cover Superstar. 2K has a tremendous history of sports simulation games and cover athletes, including Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant, LeBron James and of course, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. I look forward to carrying the flag for WWE 2K15 and introducing the incredible next-generation of WWE gaming to the WWE Universe.”

Cena is WWE’s biggest star, not only in the ring, but outside and continues to be a massive attraction with 6 million followers on Twitter and over 27 million Facebook likes, making him the most-followed active U.S. athlete on Facebook. As well as his popularity on social media, John Cena also continues to touch the hearts of people around the world, granting more than 400 wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses through the Make-a-Wish Foundation, more than any other celebrity. The upcoming first-person survival horror game, Alien: Isolation has had it’s E3 Accolade trailer released. Alien: Isolation looks set to be one if the scariest games to ever grace this form of entertainment, with developers; The Creative Assembly trying to capture the fear and tension we have all come to know from the 1979 classic film.

“Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.”

Ubisoft have announced that Valiant Hearts: the Great War is now available, worldwide, to download on Xbox LIVE for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and on the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and PC Digital.

“Valiant Hearts: The Great War is the story of crossed destinies and a broken love in a world torn apart. It gives players the chance to live a touching yet comical adventure which focuses on the journey of four people as they brave the battles and difficulties of the Great War following their faithful canine companion. Bandai Namco Games Europe have released two videos, showcasing Jude and Leia; two returning characters for Tales of Xillia 2. Check out both of the videos for the characters, below.

Jude Mathis – Much has changed for Jude in the past year. In a world where the schism—which previously divided the worlds of Rieze Maxia and Elympios – has been dispelled at last, Jude toils endlessly in his research of Spyrite: an alternative energy source which could replace Spyrix and solve Elympios’ energy crisis without the expense of the spirits. If he could perfect it, Spyrite could be the key to eliminating the tension between the two worlds and truly uniting their people once and for all—but there are those that would try to stop him.

Leia Rolando – Leia has always been energetic and inquisitive, and this nature of hers has led her to become a reporter for a local newspaper in Elympios, as she aims to promote cultural understanding between the two nations through the articles she writes. Her editor isn’t so easily impressed, however, and she works hard endlessly in pursuit of a story that’ll warm him up to her writing. For better or for worse though, she may get the scoop of a lifetime sooner than she thinks.

We recently found out what pre-order goodies would be available to fans of the MotoGP series if they order their copy early at GAME, but this week developers Milestone have released some more in-game footage from the title – taking a look back at one of the legends of the sport who is playable in their latest game – Valentino Rossi.

MotoGP 14 Game Director, Andrea Basilio explains:

“After MotoGP13 we’ve carefully listened our community’s feedback, adding the MotoGP Champions from Day1 in MotoGP14. We’ve also enhanced them with 6 new Champions and creating a new mode named Champions Challenge where players may experience and re-enact specific MotoGP historical events, assuming the role of the same riders who made the history in MotoGP.”

The new trailer shows Rossi in action, and gives us a good look at just how detailed this new game will be. There isn’t long left to wait now, as MotoGP 14 will be released on 20th June 2014 on Xbox 360, Windows PC, Steam, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and on PlayStation 4.
