On this week’s podcast, both Lyle and Adam have been deep-sea diving, all in aid of finding sushi for their restaurant. No, they’ve not had a career change, instead they’ve both been enjoying the delights of Dave the Diver, a game that had some buzz during early access, but has now been released fully with it’s 1.0 launch.

Final Fantasy 16 best sword guide | How to get Gotterdammerung https://www.godisageek.com/2023/06/final-fantasy-16-best-sword-guide-how-to-get-gotterdammerung/ Wed, 21 Jun 2023 23:01:57 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=279424 Best, but the longest quest.

The post Final Fantasy 16 best sword guide | How to get Gotterdammerung appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Our Final Fantasy 16 best sword guide will give you step-by-step info to get the ultimate sword, the Gotterdammerung. While the Gotterdammerung is the best sword in the game, it’s also the longest side quest by quite some distance. You’ll need to get Ragnarok first, which itself is a long quest.

Final Fantasy 16‘s best sword also nets you the “Half Past Twilight” trophy, so it’s worth doing, though you can’t get it until quite late in the game. Also a note of warning, you will need to be a good portion into the game to even start the quest required, so spoilers may be ahead. You’ll at least need to be past the “time skip” portion of the game to even start it.

Final Fantasy 16 best sword Gotterdammerung: where to start?

Final Fantasy 16 best sword - location

So straight away, we’ll need to be slightly spoilery. You need to be at the new hideout, and know where the blacksmith is. After a while, a lad called August will want to speak to Clive. You’ll know the quest is important as instead of just having a “!” on the map, it’ll have a plus sign (+). The quest to start this all off is called “Blacksmith Blues”, and you’ll have to speak to Blackthorne to find out why he’s got the blues.

Blacksmith’s Blues: a four-part quest

Most of the quests here are straightforward, but they’re time-consuming. They will pop up as you progress the story, so we’d say complete them straight away so you get that best sword pretty early on, comparatively, anyway. Blackthorne will constantly doubt himself through the first few parts, and you’ll have to find other makers and help them. All you need to do for each of the parts is follow the quest marker, and do what it says.

Part three will see you go back to his hometown and help out there, as well. Each time you complete part of Blacksmith’s Blues, you’ll upgrade his forge, and be able to make better weapons, too. The fourth, and final part of the quest is quite late in the story (80% plus) and will get you the ability to make the Ragnarok sword, but Blackthorne and Zoltan think they can even improve on this already legendary sword. Enter: Gotterdammerung.

Making the Final Fantasy 16 best sword Gotterdammerung

As if you haven’t been through enough, you will need some seriously rare materials to make the best sword in the game. You’ll need the following components:

  • Ragnarok: you’ll have this if you’ve been doing the side quest.
  • Orichalcum: dropped from S-rank hunt enemies
  • Darksteel: reward for defeating a hunt enemy
  • Primitive Battlehorn: reward for defeating a hunt enemy

Where to find the parts?

Orichalcum

Orichalcum is pretty rare in Final Fantasy 16, and you’ll only get it from slaying seriously hard enemies. Our first piece came from slaying the S-tier beast, Atlas. You can find it in Cressida, in a clearing on the right of the map. We’d recommend checking out how to upgrade your potions, or enhance their potency, as well, before you approach an S-tier hunt.

Atlas location

Sadly, this is very much what you have to do now and hunt down the S-rank opponents. You’ll also need to do Gorgimera, which is located in the sand dunes, at the location below. Note: it’s the player location, this time on our image, not the one where the circle is.

Orichalcum

You do not have to face Pandemoneum, as he does not drop a material you need for the sword crafting. You will have to progress the game to nearly 90% complete to unlock even more S-tier hunts. This will also unlock the hunt enemies you need to defeat to get the final piece of Orichalcum you need, for the final S-tier hunt, as below, in Sanbreque. Be aware this is the hardest boss around, and is level 50, and no joke.

You can also get a piece of the much needed material for completing the “Under New Management II” quest, which you’ll need to do anyway, to get the other materials you need.

Orichalcum 3

Darksteel: where to find it?

Darksteel is from another hunt, but if you’ve been doing the S-Tier ones, this will be a breeze. In fact, you’ve already faced this enemy before. Head to the location in the map below, and you’ll defeat the boss, and get the Darksteel. The other piece you need is from defeating the The Grim Reaper, another hunt you can find from the board.

Final Fantasy 16 best sword guide: Darksteel

It’s worth noting that The Grim Reaper hunt only appears after completing the “Under new Management” side-quest, and yes, including part 2. Once that’s done, you can find the A-tier hunt to get the second Darksteel, below, in Sanbreque.

Darksteel 2

Primitive Battlehorn: what hunt is it?

Another easy hunt compared to what you’ve been up to until now, you need to take on Gobermouch in Eistla, Waloed. You should be able to take this almost grunt-like enemy out with no problems, but he has no stagger bar which might make it slightly longer to do. Here’s the location.

Final Fantasy 16 best sword guide - Primitive Battlehorn

And that’s it, now head to the blacksmith and make your Gotterdammerung and congratulations, you now have the best sword in Final Fantasy 16. You now can enjoy the last 5% of the game with the best sword. Oh, and take it into New Game Plus, of course (and then swap it out for the best new game plus sword)! You’ll also now have the “Half Past Twilight” trophy.

The post Final Fantasy 16 potions guide | How to hold more items appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

When you start the game, you’ll wonder why Final Fantasy 16 potions are in such limited supply. You can hold a limited amount of potions and high-potions, but you can also equip buffs to your attack and defence, but again, in limited form. Luckily, there is a side quest related to Final Fantasy 16 potions that enables you to not only upgrade how many vials you can carry once, but twice, maximising your carry opportunities to 8 potions, 5 high potions, and four tonics (excluding the Lionheart one, which can only get to 2).

Now, it’s important to note you will have to be a reasonable amount into the main story to even start the first quest, so we will warn you now that to read our guide on upgrading your Final Fantasy 16 potions, there may be spoilers ahead. In a vague way, we’ll just say you need to be past the “time skip”.

Final Fantasy 16 potions: how far in the story do I need to be?

So here’s where it gets slightly spoilery. You’ll need to be past the time skip, and you’ll need to have gotten to the point where Mid joins your hideout. She will set you a main story quest with three parts called “Letting Off Steam”. After this she will have set up shop in the basement of your hideout, and Owain, someone who hangs around Mid’s dungeon will offer you a quest.

What is the quest name?

What is the quest name?

Owain will offer you a side quest with a “+” icon on the map, and it’s called “Weird Science”. It involves bounty hunting, as he needs the ash from the “Bomb King”. So you need to head to the bounty board and ask the moogle about the bomb king. The board will give you a heavy hint towards it’s location. If that isn’t helpful enough, you’ll need to head to the far right option on the map, “The Dragon’s Aery”.

Where is the bomb king?

Where is the bomb king?

Once travelled to The Dragon’s Aery, you’ll know from the hint that you need to find “The Crook”, which is almost certainly a place you haven’t been yet. Head due south from the Aery until you can enter a narrow wooded forest that has an open gate leading into it. As you progress down here, eventually you will find a small path to your left, leading to the opening that is “The Crook” where you have to fight the bomb king, and grab his ash. Simply return to Owain, and turn in the quest, and you’ll get your first upgrade.

Even Weirder Science

But that’s not all, to get the full upgrade you’ll need to revisit Owain once his quest marker returns. Now he’ll set you off to get spherical echoes for another new invention. This one is far easier, and less cryptic: simply follow the quest marker on the map to the location, defeat the enemies, and return for your massive upgrade. Hurrah!

Once you’ve done this, make sure you also upgrade the potency of your potions with this handy guide.

The post Final Fantasy 16 potion upgrade guide | How to make stronger potions appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Given that it’s not immediately obvious, you needn’t feel ashamed for coming to our Final Fantasy 16 potion upgrade guide in order to make your potions more potent. There are two stages to upgrading your potions in the game, and while one is pretty easy, it’s yet again (similar to other side-quests) a hunt that can be the problem.

You see, when it comes to the Final Fantasy 16 potion upgrade guide, you can breeze through the first quest “The Root of the Problem”, by simply following the quest marker, but part two, and maximising your potency can be a bit trickier. So let’s get on with the guide, and make sure you check out how to make it so you can hold more vials in our other potions guide.

Final Fantasy 16 potion upgrade guide: where to start

There is a separate quest that will let you enhance your potion fortification called “The Root of the Problem”. This will task you with doing a hunt to fully upgrade it, but first, you’ll need to location the “+” symbol from Nigel. He’s a botanist and will ask you for morganbeard. The first part of this quest is easy: follow the marker on the map and grab the flowers he wants, defeating any enemies who might be in the way. Go back to Nigel, and you now have enhanced potions!

Please Sir, Can I have some Morbol?

The final quest relating to potions is to maximise your potency, and is part two of Nigel’s quest. You will need to hunt a special Morbol located in the Three Reeds. This hunt is “B” level hunt, but you should be able to take it down pretty easily.

Please Sir, Can I have some Morbol?

Once again, there’s a fast travel location quite close by: Three Reeds. But again, from the description, you might only have an idea of where to go, so here’s the image of the actual location you’ll need to travel to.

Please Sir, Can I have some Morbol?

Hug the right side of the map and you’ll find a large clearing that is very obviously a location for a Morbol. It’s called the “Whispering Waters”. If you’re still struggling, you can see the entrance to the clearing, below:

Please Sir, Can I have some Morbol?

Defeat the Morbol and return to Nigel and claim your maximised potion upgrade! Well done.

The post Final Fantasy 16 Orichalcum guide: Where to find it? appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

As one of the rarest items in the game, Final Fantasy 16 Orichalcum is pretty hard to find, but you need it to finish one of the longest and most rewarding side-quests in the game. Final Fantasy 16 Orichalcum only drops in a certain moment, and we’ve scoured the game for tens of hours to find out where, so you can rest easy knowing you’re not going mad.

The thing is, you won’t have seen any for at least 25-30 hours of your playtime. In fact, you won’t even know it exists unless you’re trying to get the best sword in the game, and going for the “Half Past Twilight” trophy that goes with it. So without further ado, let’s get into it.

Final Fantasy 16 Orichalcum: What is it?

Basically, Orichalcum is an extremely rare crafting material, and in order to get the best sword in the game, Gotterdammerung, you will need not one, not two, but three pieces of it. There’s only one known way to find it, and you aren’t going to like it, because while it doesn’t take long, you will need to be at a high level, and competent at combat.

Where can I get it?

Final Fantasy 16 Orichalcum Atlas location

Atlas Location

Orichalcum is only dropped from S-Rank hunt battles. Yes, that’s right, you’ll need to take out three of the four biggest baddies in the game, and each time you do, they will drop one piece of the rare material. At the time of writing, we had found four S-Rank enemies on the Hunt Board, and you need to know that you do not need to hunt Pandemoneum. As one of the toughest fights can be skipped, that’s a nice touch.

Orichalcum

Gorgimera location

You need to hunt for Gorgimera (The Dhalmekian Republic), Atlas (The Imperial Province of Rosaria), and “Ruin Reawakened”, which is in the Sanbrequois region. These are all tough fights, and you will need to have a full quota of potions, and we’d recommend using Titan powers a lot to stagger and damage the enemies quickly, while also using the Phoenix to keep close to them.

The final piece of Orichalcum is another S-tier hunt, and it’s the hardest one, the dragon, located in Sanbreque in the location below.

Orichalcum 3

You can also get a piece of the much needed material for completing the “Under New Management II” side quest, which you’ll need to do anyway, to get the other materials you need if you’re aiming for the best sword in the game unlock.

And there you have it, all three pieces of Orichalcum done and dusted. Now to forge the best weapon in the game!

The post Final Fantasy 16 mount guide | How to get the Chocobo appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Final Fantasy wouldn’t be the same without the inclusion of the Chocobo, and Final Fantasy 16 not only has these wonderful creatures included in the story, but Clive also gets the ability to use one as his own personal mount. There’s a fair amount of travelling to do throughout the campaign, and running can only get you so far. After unlocking the ability to ride the Chocobo, getting around is a lot faster, and we detail exactly what you need to do in order to use one as your own personal mount. We’ll try to be as careful as we can in terms of spoilers, but there might be some minor details mentioned below.

Final Fantasy 16 Chocobo: how far in the story do I need to be?

You’ll reach a point around the 15-hour mark, after the ‘five years later’ part of the story. To get the Chocobo in Final Fantasy 16, you’ll need to be in Martha’s Rest for the first time after this point. A side quest will appear with a cross on it at the foot of the bridge (pictured below), and from there, Clive will need to follow the relevant steps below.

Final Fantasy XVI Chocobo quest location

What is the quest name?

The quest’s name is ‘White-Winged Wonder,’ and you’ll unlock it after talking to Martha and completing the main story quest called ‘Release.’ It’s a relatively easy quest that has you learning about a flock of local Chocobos who are in need of help, specifically a “brave bird” known as Whiteheart. The quest-giver will point you in the direction of some bandits and ask you to go and give the “bastards a hiding.”

Where is Whiteheart?

Head down the bridge and down the hill and turn right where you’ll find a white feather. You’ll see the quest marker appear, so follow it until you enter an area with a bunch of Chocobo poachers. More enemies will approach after taking down the initial handful of ne’er-do-wells, specifically some hounds and their huntsman, who has a will gauge you’ll need to break down to do more damage. Once defeated, you’ll be reacquainted with an old friend, then be given the ability to call Whiteheart whenever travelling in open spaces of the map by holding R3 in. That’s right: simply hold the right analogue stick to summon the Chocobo, then press X to hop on.

Square Enix has confirmed that the Final Fantasy 16 demo is now available on PlayStation 5, and progress will carry over to the final game.

The Final Fantasy 16 demo will contain the opening prologue for people to play ahead of the June 22nd release date. Announced at the pre-launch celebration, Producer Naoki Yoshida explained that the demo will “give fans interested in starting the adventure early access to the opening prologue, with saved progress carrying over to the full game after its release”.

Square Enix explains that in the demo you can “take control of Clive Rosfield at the start of his epic tale and learn about his ambitions and goals, as he endures a tragic event sending him on a dark and dangerous path of revenge”. The publisher added that “completing the prologue allows players to experience a special battle demo which has numerous abilities unlocked, giving them the opportunity to jump into exhilarating battles and test out a wide array of devastating attacks and combos”.

Final Fantasy 16 introduces players to an all-new story in the FINAL FANTASY universe, an epic dark fantasy that takes place in the realm of Valisthea – a land blessed in the light of the Mothercrystals, and where peace falters as the spread of the Blight threatens to destroy their dominions. The fate of the land is decided by the Eikons, mighty summoned beasts and their Dominants, men and women who have been blessed with the ability to call upon and wield them. This is the tale of Clive Rosfield, a warrior granted the title “First Shield of Rosaria” and sworn to protect his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix, Eikon of Fire. Before long, Clive will be caught up in a great tragedy and swear revenge on the Dark Eikon known as Ifrit, a mysterious entity that brings calamity in its wake.

The post Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth trailer reveals launch window appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

As part of the Summer Games Fest, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be released in “early 2024”, and that it’s going to come on two discs.

After the success of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which was critically acclaimed, but didn’t tell the full story of the beloved original game, it was always going to be interesting to see where the next part of the project went. The new trailer, then, reveals a lot of information, like the fact Red XIII will be playable in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (he wasn’t in Remake), and that although Yuffie was part of DLC for the first remake, she’ll also be a part of the main party, it seems.

It also appears there’ll be a part where you are controlling Barrett in battle, solo, and that Elena from the Turks will feature in the game at some point in the story, too, and it’ll be interesting to see if she’s still used for comedic purposes in Rebirth.

Check out the new trailer, below.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the second entry in the Final Fantasy 7 remake project, which retells the story of the iconic fantasy game that redefined the RPG genre in three distinct games. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth picks up with iconic heroes Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith and Red XIII after they escape from the dystopian city Midgar and sees them embark on a journey in pursuit of Sephiroth, the vengeful swordsman from Cloud’s past who was thought to be dead. In this standalone adventure, players will explore an expansive world, all brought to life with a new level of graphical fidelity, developed specifically to leverage the power of the PS5 console. As players unravel a gripping narrative rich with mysteries to uncover, they will also witness the personal journey of each party member and strengthen their bonds to work together and face off against powerful enemies.

Yoshinori Kitase, producer, said, “We’re honored to bring Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to players around the world early next year. In the next installment of this thrilling tale, Cloud and his friends—both new and returning—will embark on a new adventure, so all players can enjoy this story, even those without any familiarity with the previous title or the original Final Fantasy 7 . The entire team has worked fervently with love and adoration for the world of Final Fantasy 7 to deliver an unforgettable experience for new adventurers and longtime fans alike, reaching new heights of cinematic storytelling, immersive and fast-paced combat, and rich exploration across a vast world. We can’t wait to share more details later this year”.

Elsewhere, Square also released a new trailer for mobile game, Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis, which you can also see, below. Ever Criss is a “chapter-structured RPG experience” that will cover the key elements of the FF7 timeline, and will include events from the original game as well as new story moments from Remake about Sephiroth, as written by Kazushige Nojima.

There’s a closed beta test for Ever Crisis coming to Android users between July 6th-13th, and you need to pre-register to be in with a shout to take part. The final game is also coming to iOS devices.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is coming to PlayStation 5 in “early 2024”.

During the PlayStation Showcase, Square Enix released a new Final Fantasy 16 trailer, titled “Salvation”, and frankly, the game continues to look astonishingly pretty.

As a PlayStation exclusive, it’s perhaps not a surprise to see Final Fantasy 16 show up at the Showcase, but nonetheless, Square Enix says the trailer “sets the stage for what players can expect when they step into Valisthea next month, where we see the harsh circumstances faced by the Bearers, those born with the ability to cast magicks at will, and we see the truth that lies behind the Mothercrystals, long supposed to have bestowed blessings upon humanity”.

We also get a proper look at Clive Rosfield, the protagonist of Final Fantasy 16, who is probably the coolest fictional Clive ever, right? Check out the trailer below.

FuturLab and Square Enix has announced yet another crossover for PowerWash Simulator, and it’s with SpongeBob Squarepants, adding a mini campaign across six new maps.

Retailing for $7.99 / €7.99 / £6.49, the underwater expansion for PowerWash Simulator is coming to PC via Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and of course, PS5, and is officially titled the “SpongeBob SquarePants Special Pack for PowerWash Simulator”.

As the press release says, “if nautical nostalgia be something you wish, then you’re in luck! The SpongeBob SquarePants Special Pack is a love letter to the source material, created in the distinct style of the original cartoon in collaboration with the team at Nickelodeon”. The actual PowerWash character model has had a “marine makeover”, too, with a custom designed power washer for the DLC.

Soak up the sights of Bikini Bottom and get totally absorbed in a mini campaign spanning across six new maps for PowerWash Simulator, featuring: Conch Street, The Bikini Bottom Bus, The Krusty Krab; The Patty Wagon; The Invisible Boatmobile and The Mermalair. Plus, we’ve added ten aquatic achievements to fish for!

The residents of Bikini Bottom are left wondering what in the name of Davy Jones’ locker happened to their tidy tidal town after a myriad of mysteriously mucky mishaps. Can they get to the bottom of it before it devolves into another mud-slinging match between Mr. Krabs and Plankton? You don’t know, you’re just there to clean, but it sure makes for great entertainment…

“I’m so excited about this Special Pack! Our team has created another faithful IP crossover that is respectful to the source” says FuturLab Co-CEO, James Marsden, “I think this one in particular really shows how much we care about exceeding expectations to do each IP partnership justice”.

“We are so excited to welcome SpongeBob SquarePants to the PowerWash Simulator world!” says Timea Edvi, Director of Indie Publishing at Square Enix Collective, “This couldn’t have happened without our amazing community of power washing pros and their wonderful responses to the Tomb Raider and Midgar Special Packs. We can’t wait for you to join us under the sea!”

The roadmap for the game was also released recently, detailing all the upcoming (announced) ideas and content.

Square Enix has announced Live A Live is coming to PS4, PlayStation 5, and PC (via Steam), after it was previously Switch exclusive, as the year of releases seems to just get busier, and busier.

The HD-2D remake of one the Team Asano developed Live A Live was released on Switch on July 22nd, 2022, so it means it’ll have been less than a year after the exclusive release, because it’s coming to PS4, PS5, and PC on April 27th. You can check out the announcement trailer, below:

To celebrate the announcement, there’s also a demo of Live A Live at 5pm today (UK time) coming to the PlayStation Store as well as Steam. In the demo you can play three of the eight stories in the game, which if I recall was the same on Nintendo Switch. The demo stories are The Wild West, Twilight of Edo Japan, and The Distant Future. You can carry your progress in the demo over to the final version of the game, so if you try it and like it you can pick up where you left off when it launches on April 27th.

It’s worth noting, actually, that if you play the demo on PS4 you can transfer to the PS5 game later via the options menu, but you can’t go backwards, generation wise. Cross buy is also applicable for the PS4 and PS5 version of the game, too.

I reviewed the game back in 2022, and although it’s decent, it isn’t one of my favourite HD-2D titles from Square. I gave it a 7/10, saying “This is a proven art style now for Square Enix, and while most of the voice acting is serviceable, some feels a bit close to being pastiche-by-mistake, which can sound, shall we say, unfortunate. But this is a love letter to a clever idea that got lost in the West somehow. It’s great to see this kind of game getting a second go around, and while it may not blow the competition out of the water (and while the likes of Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy are simply much better overall), it’s a neat little curio that warrants a look”.

Live A Live is out now for Nintendo Switch, and coming to PC (Steam), PS4, and PS5 on April 27th.

The first Forspoken DLC is coming on May 26th, and Square Enix has revealed it’s called “In Tanta We Trust”, and is a prequel story.

Following on from the February release this year, Forspoken’s In Tanta We Trust DLC will be available on PlayStation 5 again, as well as PC via Epic Games Store or Steam. And when we say that it’s a prequel, we mean it, as it’s set 25 years before the events of the main game.

Check out the official blurb on the DLC, below, and you can also see a recent trailer in case you aren’t caught up on what the game is.

Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust story DLC will serve as a prequel to the main game and takes place 25 years prior the events of Forspoken. Continuing her search for a way to eradicate the Break from Athia once and for all, Frey finds herself following a mysterious voice that leads her to a place that somehow transports her to the Purge of the Rheddig, the legendary battle that devastated Athia and eventually drove the Tantas to madness. Accompanied by Tanta Cinta and a new set of magical abilities, Frey must uncover the answers and save Athia once more – and attempt to save herself

In the Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust DLC, players will battle alongside Tanta Cinta using Frey’s newfound magical ability to unlock new combat strategies and coordinate devastating attack combos against the invading Rheddig forces. Scale to new heights in unique, vertically-designed environments with Frey’s honed magic-enhanced parkour skills.

It seems there won’t be a new protagonist though, as the official word above is that you still play as Frey. Square also added that if you have the digital deluxe edition of the game, you’ll get early access to the DLC on May 23rd, but if you just own the standard edition you can pick it up separately on the 26th, instead.

Forspoken is out now for PlayStation 5 and PC (Epic Games Store and Steam).

There are some parts of Paranormasight which require you to really think outside the box if you want to progress in the story, and it’s easy to get stuck if you can’t figure it out without our guide. Although the game usually tries to guide you in the right direction, sometimes you hit a wall – and that’s where we come in. This guide contains story spoilers, so don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Paranormasight guide: Yakko’s story

One of these moments takes place in Yakko’s story, when it’s revealed that the spirit of Michiyo has been possessing her for most of the game. In the chapter “I’ll see you again”, Yakko and Mio use a spirit board to communicate with Michiyo to try and send her on to the afterlife and before she leaves she has one last request.

Paranormasight Guide

Paranormasight guide: never forget

Michiyo simply doesn’t want to be forgotten, and asks you to show her that you never will. You need to find a way to demonstrate that, and there’s a clever way to do it. To satisfy Michiyo you need to go into the save menu and manually save the game to a new slot. Once you’ve done that she’ll be happy to move on knowing she’ll always be remembered, and you’ll have experienced one of the coolest moments in Paranormasight.

Paranormasight Guide

In our review of the game, Lyle said “If I have one complaint with Paranormasight it’s that there were a few times I just got well and truly stuck with how to progress. It makes sense that a game about solving paranormal mysteries could occasionally stump you (and for the most part it helps lead you in the right direction) but one section in particular had me confused for a couple of days and I just wanted to keep playing this great game”, so don’t feel ashamed using these guides, and check out more of the site for further help, and our YouTube Channel for more guides.

The post Paranormasight Yin Scroll seal guide appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

You’re finally starting to unravel the mysteries of Paranormasight, then suddenly are expected to help unseal the Yin scroll of the Record of Fates. In the chapter titled “Conclusion” you need to select five options in the right order to reveal how to stop The Feast of Shadows. There’s almost no information to go off, and there’s a good chance it will take you a long time to figure out. But don’t worry, GodisaGeek is here to help. This guide contains story spoilers, so don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Paranormasight Yin Scroll seal guide: step one

Firstly, you need to figure out what these five options are referencing. It shouldn’t take too long to realise that each of them relates to a different curse stone. Once you look at the stones themselves in your files you should be able to see that The Carp represents The Whispering Canal, the Light represents The Beckoning Light, the Beech Leaf represents The Evergreen Beech, the Taiko Drum represents The Taiko of Tsugaru, and finally the Reed represents The One-Sided Reed.

Paranormasight Guide

Paranormasight Yin Scroll seal guide: step two

Now the order you need to select them in is the order in which the spirits they contain originally died. You can figure this out by reading through your files, specifically the stories of the vengeful spirits at the end of each of the Seven Mysteries. With a bit of thinking and note taking, you should be able to see that the Taiko Drum is the first selection, followed by the Beech, the Reed, the Carp and finally the Light. It’s a very sad story detailing the death of a family, but by uncovering the grizzly details hopefully you’ll be able to save some lives. Now go on and finish what you started.

There you have it, all done!

Paranormasight has some moments that really expect you to think well and truly outside of the box, and the first of these happens pretty early on with Paranormasight Yutaro and his curse. In the chapter “Quest for the Seven Mysteries (part 2)” you’ll go to the Ryogoku Bridge and meet Yutaro Namigaki. You’ll find out pretty quickly that he’s a curse bearer too, and the games begin right away.

Paranormasight Yutaro’s curse: what’s it about?

It won’t take you long to realise that Yutaro is willing to kill you pretty quickly for those precious soul dregs, and in no time at all poor Shogo will be pushing up daisies. After trying a few different options, you’ll probably start to wonder how the heck you can stop the power of his curse.

Paranormasight Guide

Paranormasight Yutaro: how to survive

There’s only one hint you’re given in how to deal with his curse, and that’s when he kills you and reveals that anyone who hears the voice of his curse will die. You can prevent this from happening by going into the volume menu and turning the voice volume to zero. When I realised that this was the solution to this problem my mind was well and truly blown, and I knew Paranormasight was going to be a very special game.

Paranormasight Guide

And there you have it: you’ve solved the Paranormasight Yutaro curse puzzle. Subscribe to our YouTube Channel to never miss a new video, whether it’s a review, preview, interview, podcast, or guide. Make sure you check out our review too, where Lyle says “Paranormasight is a fantastic visual novel, full of mysteries to solve and spooky goings on to discover. The characters and overarching story are sensational, and there are moments in the game that I can’t imagine ever forgetting. There are some parts that I think are a little too confusing that might slow your progress, but they absolutely shouldn’t stop you from diving into this tale of bloodshed and tragedy”.

Octopath Traveler 2 has everything I could want in a sequel | Hands-on preview https://www.godisageek.com/2023/02/octopath-traveler-2-has-everything-i-could-want-in-a-sequel-hands-on-preview/ Thu, 09 Feb 2023 08:14:01 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=273491 Eight more stories to tell.

The post Octopath Traveler 2 has everything I could want in a sequel | Hands-on preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Despite having played it at this point, I still can’t quite believe Octopath Traveler 2 is real. The first game in the series released back in 2018 as a Switch exclusive, and kick-started the HD-2D art style that’s (quite rightly) universally loved. As well as looking gorgeous, Octopath Traveler had enthralling turn-based combat and a riveting story that placed it firmly at the top of the JRPG mountain. Now the sequel is just around the corner, and I am happy to confirm it’s going to be just as essential as its predecessor.

For this preview I was able to play the first chapter of every character’s story. Similarly to the first game, Octopath Traveler 2 features eight characters who all have their own goals, which can be recruited to your party in whatever order you see fit. Your first decision is choosing one as your protagonist, which is easier said than done because they are all fantastic.

After reading a few blurbs I opted to choose Agnea, and got to find out about her life in the small village she called home, and her dancing aspirations. The backstory of every one of the eight is truly compelling, and they aren’t afraid to take a dark turn or two along the way. There’s poverty, slavery, and false imprisonment packed into even the early hours of Octopath Traveler 2, and before long you’ll care for all these hard done by characters. From the warrior that wants to prevent his brother from leading his clan down a dark path, to the merchant who wants to use his money making talents to raise money for the poor, the fateful eight all have to travel the world for different reasons and end up joining forces to keep each other safe against the various monsters and baddies.

A screenshot of Octopath Traveler II

The combat in Octopath Traveler 2 is just as engaging this time around, with the returning break and boost system really stealing the show in the turn-based battles. Each enemy you face can be hit with attacks it’s weak to in order to break it. This makes them skip their next turn and take extra damage, so finding elements or weapon types that get a foe closer to break and letting rip is the name of the game.

You can break enemies faster by using the boost points you’re given every turn to do multiple attacks at once. Storing these up and knowing the right time to unleash a powerful flurry is key to surviving some of the tougher bosses you encounter, and even in the early hours of the game my party was wiped out when I misjudged when to go on the offense (or foolishly boosted a powerful attack instead of a mass heal for the team).

It’s not all mechanics you’ve seen before, though. New to the combat in Octopath Traveler 2 are Latent Powers. Each character has a totally different one of these powers, which are slowly built up by breaking enemies or taking damage. One party member fills all of their BP instantly with their latent ability, another is able to craft a potion without using up any ingredients, and my lovely dancing protagonist can use her buffs on all party members instead of just one. The Latent Powers always feel satisfying to bring out when a battle isn’t going your way, and they’re the perfect small but satisfying addition to the combat.

A screenshot of Octopath Traveler II

Outside of battle, the other new feature to play around with is the day and night cycle. At the push of a button you can switch the world between day and night, and doing so changes the ferocity of enemies as well as the Path abilities (which are basically out of battle powers) that each of your party members can unleash. For example in the day my boogieing protagonist can allure NPCs to join us in battle for some extra fighting power, but at night she can use her natural charm to get free items from them. There’s quite a lot of overlap with the path abilities, but they’re fun to play around with and will provide you with a ton of extra items and allies if used often.

What I really like about Octopath Traveler 2 above anything else is how open it feels. You get to pick the order you do things in, choose whose story you want to follow first, and can explore dangerous areas anytime you fancy it. I loved getting new characters and dragging them to particularly tough caves for some tricky battles and a shed load of experience, and thanks to the incredibly convenient and unrestricted fast travel, bouncing around the globe is a breeze.

It should almost go without saying, but I can’t talk about my time with Octopath Traveler 2 without mentioning the visuals and soundtrack. The HD-2D art is honestly the best I’ve ever seen, and even on Switch the performance doesn’t miss a beat. Every single battle theme and environmental song is beautiful too, perhaps even more so than the first game.

A screenshot of Octopath Traveler II

There are elements to Octopath Traveler 2 that I can’t speak to yet. The main one of these I’m keen to experiment with is the job system, which allows your characters to gain extra abilities separate to their own and level them up. They were in the first game and I’ve spotted them in the menus, but without diving into later chapters I just can’t say how the building of your characters progresses using the jobs.

If I have a complaint in the sixteen or so hours of the game I played, it’s probably that the random battles can get a bit oppressive. I can’t help but think they feel a little dated nowadays, and the sheer volume of them is just a bit much. I did unlock a skill that reduces their frequency with the very last character I recruited though, so perhaps I was just unlucky.

Octopath Traveler 2 has everything I could want in a sequel to an essential RPG. The stories are so gripping already, the combat still feels original and fresh five years on, and I could listen to the soundtrack and look at those environments all day long. Square Enix clearly knew that this was a series that didn’t need huge changes and massive new features, and have instead refined everything that made the first game great. I cannot wait to play more of it.

Octopath Traveller 2 is coming to Switch, PlayStation, and PC on February 24th.

Square Enix has announced that a demo for Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is out today, featuring a selection of thirty songs that include tracks taken from Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy XIV.

There will be local co-op available in the Music Stage mode part of the demo, but the final game also includes online multiplayer. The demo was announced via a live stream on the Official Square Enix Twitch channel earlier this week, with the full version of the game coming on February 16th, 2023. As you’d expect, the demo on PS4 is fully playable on PS5 due to the backwards compatibility features.

Featuring 385 Final Fantasy tracks in the base game, the Digital Deluxe and Premium Digital Deluxe Editions include music from various Square Enix series, such as NieR, SaGa, Live a Live, Octopath Traveler and more. With three game modes to enjoy and over 100 Final Fantasy characters, players can form their dream music battle party, and by using both local and online multiplayer play modes, with additional DLC to explore following the game’s launch, players have plenty to look forward to as they embark on a colourful and musical journey.

Some of the notable songs included in the demo are:

  • “Opening – Bombing Mission” from Final Fantasy VII
  • “Blinded By Light” from Final Fantasy XIII
  • “Torn from the Heavens” from Final Fantasy XIV
  • “APOCALYPSIS NOCTIS (Uncovered Trailer)” from Final Fantasy XV

It feels like this one is a greatest hits collection of Square Enix games, and not the usual Final Fantasy version of the series. In 2014, Curtain Call became the second music game like this from Square, and hopefully there will be some new features to get excited about in Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, though the series has always been good fun and pretty content packed.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is coming to PS4 and Nintendo Switch on February 16th, 2023. The free demo is available now. Players who pre-order a digital copy of the game will receive 15 ProfiCards to customize and use in-game

The third expansion for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is called “Different Future”, and it’s out now on all formats.

This DLC sees “Jack and company guided by the spirit of a moogle to reach a city in an alternate time and space to face one last challenge, concluding the Stranger of Paradise storyline”. You can check out the trailer below:

Available with the season pass now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and PC (Epic Games Store), the Different Future expansion for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin adds the following content:

  • New Characters and Enemies – Players will be escorted on their journey by the moogle that was first introduced in the Wanderer of the Rift expansion, as well as meet the Emperor from the Final Fantasy series.
  • New Jobs – Players can unlock Musketeer, Hunter and Gambler jobs by progressing through the “Different Future” story missions.
  • New Gear – “Different Future” introduces new gear, firearms.
  • New Blacksmith Features – Players can take advantage of “imitation materials,” which enable them to craft and upgrade certain items more easily. Using imitation materials, players can also make replicas of equipment and replicate chaos effects.

If you do have the season pass you’ll also have access to the previous expansions, Trials of the Dragon King, and Wanderer of the Rift. Mick reviewed Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin in March 2022, and really liked it. He scored the game 8/10 and said “It’s not just a Souls clone in Final Fantasy’s skin; it’s a well-made action RPG that only occasional stumbles off the beaten path. The Job system offers depth if you want it, while the combat has enough challenge for die-hard players and enough options to satisfy those who like their games a little less bloody-minded. Stranger of Paradise is worth picking up if you’re a fan of Nioh or Final Fantasy, but it’s no true representation of either. It’s just a really good time on its own merits”.

The game, and season pass expansion content is available now.

The post How long to beat Forspoken appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Forspoken is Luminous Productions’ new open world action-rpg, following the fortunes and misfortunes of New Yorker Frey Holland when she is transported to the magical land of Athia by a sentient bracelet. Its world is huge, the map filled with hundreds of icons to go out and find. But this being a new IP from a new developer, it’s difficult to gauge just how much of that space will be used and how long it’ll take to beat Forspoken’s campign.

At a glance, it looks like any other busy-work open world. There are points of interest everywhere and a ton of side concerns, some more worthy of your time than others. It is heavily story-focussed though, which certainly affects things.

Forspoken: how long to beat?

As we said in the review, there’s a good stretch at the beginning of Forspoken that takes a while to get through. The opening five hours are story and cutscene-heavy, and much of your time is spent watching events unfold or wandering around readlly slowly. The back few hours, too, are laden with exposition and chit-chat in between a small mountain of boss fights.

How long to beat Forspoken

If you were to mainline Forspoken’s story on default difficulty, it would take no more than 8 to 10 hours. However, you would find yourself woefully underprepared for the final few fights – particularly the final boss fight which is a multi-stage battle. Although, without spoiling too much, you could save an hour by not fighting the boss at all and still see credits roll.

Our playthrough on the Default difficulty and completing roughly 60 – 70% of side content took 23 hours.

What are the factors that determine how long it takes?

As stated above, the world of Athia is massive. There are tons of map icons denoting points of interest. Some are simple monuments or Refuges, or Belfries to get a lay of the land. However, many of them are comnbat challenges, timed challenges, mini dungeons called Locked Labyrinths that reward new Cloaks and Necklaces and which culminate in a large boss fight.

How long to beat Forspoken

There are also “Detours”, side quests to complete for various NPCs in the city of Cipal. OPen world bosses are incredibly tough fights, too, which will require a considerable amount of either upgrading or time investment to conquer.

To complete everything Athia has to offer, it would take around 30 to 35 hours, if not more.

Can we keep going after the campaign?

Yes. Forspoken allows you to continue playing within Athia after the main campaign is complete, providing you make the correct choice at the end – which we’ll let you figure out for yourself.

Forspoken | Best settings to improve your experience https://www.godisageek.com/2023/01/forspoken-best-settings-to-improve-your-experience/ Tue, 24 Jan 2023 00:01:04 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=272739 Tweaking things.

The post Forspoken | Best settings to improve your experience appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Forspoken has a lot going on, with enormous amounts of side-quests, story moments, and mechanics to understand, but nailing the best settings will mean you enjoy it more. Rather than delve into the menus we’ve solved it for you.

You see, there is a lot of game here, and we think a few people may bounce off this game quite quickly if not for some tweaks. In fact, we’d go so far as to say some of these should be defaults, but they aren’t. So changing some options and getting Forspoken best settings dialled in means you might enjoy it more than you otherwise could. While most of these are almost nailed on, borderline definitive settings you’ll need to change, there are one or two that are subjective, so have a play with our best settings and see how you get on.

Turn Cuff and Frey’s interactions down

Forspoken Best settings

In the “Accessibility Settings” there’s a a section in the middle called “Cuff Settings”, and within that, “Cuff Chat Frequency”. Switch this to low if you want to keep your sanity. It’s not that the interactions between Frey and Cuff are “Bad” per say, it’s more that they just didn’t record enough voice lines for such a large, open-world experience. You can only hear the few lines so many times before it gets annoying. If this still isn’t enough, you can switch it to off, entirely.

Forspoken best settings: change sprint to circle

You will be running around a lot in the open world of Forspoken, and hidden in the accessibility settings there’s a “Spring button” option that lets you make Circle the sprint button. By default it’s set to left stick (L3), but with magic parkour on circle, this means when you run out of stamina you’ll keep running until you get more built up. Frey is painfully slow at walking pace, so having parkour and sprint on the same button is just more comfortable.

Get “Automatic Item Gathering” switched on asap

Forspoken Best settings

You’ll be grabbing items all the time in this tile, and one of Forspoken best settings to tweak is this option. By turning this to on (it’s in accessibility settings) you will grab resources as you run over them, and won’t have to hit a button to pick them up. This means you don’t miss potential resources for crafting healing items, or upgrades, ever.

Use auto-switching of support spells

This one is the one you’ll have to try yourself before committing to. By turning this setting on you will automatically switch support spells (L1) once you use one. In other words, instead of manually switching when you burn a cooldown on a support spell, the game will switch to the next one and you can cast more. However, there are a few downsides to this: firstly, you aren’t getting to choose which support spell to use unless you hit L1 and bring the wheel up, and secondly, some can be recharged quicker by leaving them active, and doing damage with your other spell. Try it out, see how you go, but this one might be one best left as it is.

Try performance mode, even if you usually prefer resolution

Forspoken Best settings

We get it, you want all the Ps and want to play at 4K. But you’re losing a massive amount of speed and precision when playing this way. The performance-focussed option gives you a high enough resolution (unless you have a monster of a TV)and keeps the framerate at a near consistent 60fps. When playing a game with this much speed of movement and combat, you’ll prefer fast moving camera to more definition in the visuals.

Turn automatically use healing items on

While Forspoken isn’t a particularly hard game outside some enouncters, switching “Automatically Use Healing Items” to “on” means that you won’t have to worry about dying because you didn’t hit down on the D-Pad quick enough. This will cause Frey to auto-use banked healing items when you take damage. We’d also suggest having a play with auto-evasion in the same menu, to see how you get on with that, though we preferred this one off, to maintain a bit more control over Frey.

Square Enix has today announced that Life is Strange 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch on February 2, and is now available to pre-order via the Nintendo eShop.

If you never played it when it originally released, the synopsis reads as follows:

Life is Strange 2 is a narrative-adventure in which your decisions influence both the game’s story and characters. You play as sixteen-year-old Sean Diaz, a normal kid growing up in the suburbs of Seattle. After your younger brother Daniel’s telekinetic powers are unleashed by a traumatic incident, you are forced to abandon your home and flee from the police. As a big brother, you are solely responsible for not only Daniel’s safety, shelter, and wellbeing – but also how he grows to harness his power as you travel across the USA in an attempt to cross the border into Mexico.

It’s been some time since Life is Strange 2 released in episodic fashion back in 2018 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but in our review of the first episode, we said, “I think most of us thought that season two of Life is Strange would focus on Max again, but instead we get the Diaz brothers and I couldn’t be happier. Max’s story had been told and now we’re moving on to pastures new. This is a story about an older brother’s love for his younger sibling despite all that sibling rivalry bullshit, and how life can be hard for hard working people of immigrant descent in a harsh society. One episode in and I don’t miss Max and Chloe at all. Following Sean and Daniel’s story is already gripping, happy and saddening, and we’re only just getting started. No, there’s isn’t too much in the way of game here, but it’s only the beginning and I’m really looking forward to where the Diaz boy’s journey takes us. That is, if my heart can take it.”

Being a console exclusive for PlayStation 5 has allowed Luminous Productions to make Forspoken load times very impressive indeed.

As you can see in the YouTube Short below, Forspoken load times are up there with the likes of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales on PS5, with near instant loads from the main menu into your saved game, and then just as quick between fast travel locations. In the video we show you the load time from the main menu into a saved game, then we zip about the map a bit. Just to show it’s not a fluke, we fast-travel to the furthest location we can, and it’s still nearly instant.

Note: it’s better watching this video on a mobile app, as it’s a YouTube Short, designed for watching vertically on a phone, but we’ve embedded it here if you’re on a PC, below. Click here to go right to the video on your phone.

It’s good to see more games making use of the SSD inside the new generation of consoles, for sure, and Mick enjoyed his time with the game, scoring it a 7.5/10 and saying “It’s difficult to recommend Forspoken as a complete experience. Every positive comes with caveats that can’t be ignored. The world is nice to explore, but soon becomes a little repetitive. Combat is exciting until the game drops a damage sponge on you and you spend ten minutes banging your head against it. The story is intriguing but the writing seems hell-bent on forcing emotional responses instead of earning them. There’s something here to get stuck into for fans of open world adventures, and Forspoken isn’t without its charms, but like Frey herself, it’s often its own worst enemy.”.

Forspoken is out on PC and PS5 on January 24th, 2023.

Having taken the world by storm last year (thanks, Game Pass!) Power Wash Simulator isn’t done by any means. In fact, it’s now getting content collaborations, and Square Enix is getting involved thanks to Croft Manor from the Tomb Raider series.

“Creating the Tomb Raider Special Pack has been an honour and a fantastic experience” said Dan Chequer, Lead Designer at FuturLab. “We can’t wait for players to get up close and personal with Croft Manor and explore its many secrets!”

Coming on January 31st to all platforms (the game itself is out on PlayStation 4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch on that date, too), you can check out the trailer below that shows the new content off:

It’s actually a bit strange as Crystal Dynamics was sold to The Embracer Group, but this is still under Square Enix, so presumably this was a pre-existing deal as Power Wash Simulator was also published by Square Enix, and developed by FuturLab, which remains an independent developer

“What Tomb Raider fan hasn’t explored Croft Manor and thought ‘Winston could really use some help with these grounds! I would love to power wash this place!’?” asked Dallas Dickinson, Franchise General Manager for Tomb Raider at Crystal Dynamics. “Now, with the help of Square Enix Collective and FuturLab that’s not only possible, but immensely satisfying as well.”

“We know the community wants more to clean, and I’m delighted we’re able to kick off our post-release plans in style with this Tomb Raider collaboration,” added Phil Elliott, studio head at Square Enix Collective. “We’ve had so much great support from players, press and content creators, and we wanted to do something special to say thank you!”

Power Wash Simulator is out now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X. It’s coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 on January 31st.

]]>

Square Enix has announced that the latest patch for Final Fantasy XIV Online is called “Gods Revel, Lands Tremble”, and includes lots of content and updates.

Patch 6.3 for Final Fantasy XIV Online will allow subscribers to continue the adventures of the Warrior of Light with some new main story quests, but there’s also “a new 8-player trial in both Normal and Extreme difficulties, 24-player alliance raid, dungeon or the new ultimate raid”.

Here’s the patch notes from the press release:

  • New Main Scenario Quests – In the darkness of the Thirteenth, the Warrior of Light finds an unexpected ally in a half-voidsent woman named Zero. She returns with them to the Source for a time, and upon recovering from their recent trials, they prepare to continue the search for Azdaja. But an unforeseen threat bars their path…
  • New 24-Player Alliance Raid – Myths of the Realm, Part 2: Euphrosyne – The Twelve, Eorzea’s guardian deities, seek to fulfill their enigmatic aspirations, and for this they claim they must engage in battle with men. Continuing your efforts to uncover the truth, you and your comrades set forth once more for their heavenly abode in the phantom realm…
  • New Dungeon – Lapis Manalis – In pursuit of voidsent, you learn of an abandoned village in the mountains of Garlemald where Garleans once practiced the reaper arts. But what will you find there deep in the heart of the mountain?
  • New 8-Player Trial (Normal/Extreme) – The search for Azdaja continues─that is, until a powerful new foe steps forward to oppose you…
  • New Ultimate Raid – The Omega Protocol (Ultimate) (Patch 6.31) – What if Omega’s relentless testing had continued, and provided the elusive answer it sought? The minstrel’s words invite you to imagine this scenario─to entertain the possibility of that which may have been─and follow the experiment to its ultimate conclusion.

Final Fantasy XIV Online

  • New Unreal Trial – Containment Bay P1T6 (Unreal) – As ever, the faux commander craves tales of death-defying derring-do, and in a bid to satisfy him, you cast your mind back to your frenetic encounter with the eikon Sophia. The memory remains vivid even now, and you find yourself facing the Goddess once more, your very survival hanging in the balance…
  • Duty Support Updates – Support is available for the remaining Heavensward™ main scenario dungeons (The Great Gubal Library, The Aetherochemical Research Facility, The Antitower, Sohr Khai, Xelphatol and Baelsar’s Wall) so they can be completed alongside a party of NPC allies.
  • New Side Story Quests Tataru’s Grand Endeavor – When Tataru receives an unexpected proposal for a partnership from an acquaintance in the Far East, you are beckoned to join in the negotiations for reasons beyond your ken…
  • Island Sanctuary Updates – Return to paradise, where a new landmark, animals, sanctuary ranks and unlockable items await. In addition, numerous improvements have been made to the user interface and more based on player feedback. There is no better time than now to explore your island!

Final Fantasy XIV Online

  • The Gold Saucer – New Course for Leap of Faith – From the depths of the Black Shroud comes a lofty challenge to those who would reach the heights of athleticism. Will you be the first walking one to ascend as sprightly as a sylph?
Miscellaneous Updates – A new treasure hunt dungeon, various retainer adjustments, a new Crystalline Conflict PvP arena, new custom deliveries and more.

Square Enix also detailed some of the updates coming to patch 6.35, such as new tribal quests, a new deep dungeon, and weapon enhancement quests.

The post Forspoken gets a new cinematic trailer ahead of this month’s release appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

As one of the biggest releases of January 2023, fans excited for Forspoken will be pleased to hear there’s a new cinematic trailer to pore over. This new trailer is voiced by Ella Balinska, the lead actress for the game, who plays Frey Holland.

If the trailer takes your fancy, there’s a demo available now on PS5 that, while short, does show off the combat and some of the traversal that might be available in the final game. The Forspoken demo itself seems quite contained, or maybe even made specifically “as a demo”, because it starts Frey off with a few different powers and abilities.

Join Frey Holland as she is mysteriously transported from New York City to the beautiful yet cruel landscapes of Athia. In her journey to find a way home Frey must look within to overcome the battles against twisted Breakbeasts and the treacherous Tantas.

It’s interesting to note that in the press release for the new trailer, it says that the game has been “designed for PS5” and that it will “harness the full power of the console and demonstrate Luminous Productions’ philosophy to provide a gaming experience like never before, fusing together the latest technology with creativity”, but of course it will also launch on PC, on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.

Forspoken is coming to PS5 and PC on January 24th, 2023.

Marvel’s Avengers now includes The Winter Soldier via free update https://www.godisageek.com/2022/11/marvels-avengers-now-includes-the-winter-soldier-via-free-update/ Tue, 29 Nov 2022 16:21:16 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=270685 Bucky by name.

The post Marvel’s Avengers now includes The Winter Soldier via free update appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

Marvel’s Avengers from Crystal Dynamics is still going strong, and the latest free update has added The Winter Soldier as a playable hero.

The update (2.7, for those keeping count) is out now and adds new gear, while also increasing the maximum power level to 185. This will also add to Marvel’s Avengers‘ story, which Crystal Dynamics says “now offers several campaigns, 11 playable heroes (12 on PlayStation platforms), and endless multiplayer co-op action for up to four players”.

Here’s the official information on Bucky/Winter Soldier, along with a brand new trailer.

Bucky Barnes, AKA the Winter Soldier, is a master assassin, brawler, and ranged specialist. Scientist Supreme Monica Rappaccini captured him to use him as her personal assassin and leverage his Soviet-era protocols to harness MODOK as a more pliable weapon. But Barnes escaped with the help of the Avengers, and now he’s looking to bring AIM to justice…and for a way to overcome his guilt and anger over the terrible things he has done.

Barnes doesn’t like to lose and doesn’t back down from fights. The battlefield is the Winter Soldier’s home. After all he’s been through, there are few things he is sure of other than his fighting skills and his devotion to his allies.

Along with this update, there’s also a new mission called “Cloning Lab Omega-Level Threat”, which is described below, and also has a new trailer (also below):

A large and familiar face is back with a vengeance: Scientist Supreme Monica Rappaccini’s latest experiment MODOK waits in the depths of AIM’s Cloning Lab. In one of Marvel’s Avengers’ truest tests of end-game teamwork, Cloning Lab requires advanced tactics and the full cooperation of a four-player team to beat the 175 Power Level challenge and obtain more-powerful gear. Along the way, players will be a part of Marvel’s Avengers’ unfolding narrative as they try to defeat MODOK before the Scientist Supreme can take control of one of the world’s most powerful minds!

The free 2.7 update is available now.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion has me gripped so far | Hands-on preview https://www.godisageek.com/2022/11/crisis-core-final-fantasy-vii-reunion-has-me-gripped-preview/ Tue, 29 Nov 2022 10:00:44 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=270609 Zack's back, baby!

The post Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion has me gripped so far | Hands-on preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

It’s fair to say that there’s a huge number of people who consider Final Fantasy VII the greatest game ever made. Because of that, it’s one of the rare Final Fantasy games with a whole host of spinoffs. If you’ve been hankering for a game featuring Mako, Midgar and Shinra after beating that fabulous remake, then you’ll be happy to get started with Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion.

If you missed Crisis Core the first time around on the PSP, it follows Cloud lookalike Zack Fair and his time in SOLDIER. Set before the events of Final Fantasy VII, it delves into the backstory of Cloud, Shinra and everyone’s favourite silver haired villain. When Sephiroth’s best buds and allies Genesis and Angeal ditch the team their allegiance comes into question, and our hero Zack is quickly promoted to Soldier 1st class and sent on missions to find them.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion

For this preview I was able to play up to the end of chapter 3, which is around five hours of the game. In this time I got to experience plenty of Crisis Core’s battles, story, and updated graphics, and whether you’re a new player or returning fan I can confirm there’s plenty to enjoy in this revamped package.

The combat is the star of the show here, with fast paced action that especially at the time felt very fresh for a JRPG. Zack can slash, roll, and block with the best of them, while also having access to a host of abilities thanks to the Materia you load him up with. By holding down a shoulder button you can shoot out elemental attacks, perform stylish combos, and heal any wounds you need patching up. It’s not dissimilar to the Kingdom Hearts games, but with one luck based twist.

As you fight off waves of guards, beasts, and bombs a slot machine spins away in the top corner of the screen. This is the known as the DMV (which apparently stands for Digital Mind Wave) and grants you all sorts of bonuses in battle. If the characters shown on the reels match up you’ll be given a powerful limit break themed around one of your allies to unleash on the foes in front of you. Whether it’s Sephiroth’s Octoslash or Ifrit’s Hellfire, these attacks are a joy to watch and end all but the toughest scraps in an instant.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion

The numbers on the reels are important too. Getting two of the same number will level up the materia you have equipped in that numbered slot, whereas getting any sevens will grant you huge buffs like immunity to physical attacks or unlimited MP for a short time. The best result though is 777, which actually levels Zack up. With so much importance placed on the DMV slots, a bit of luck will get you far into Zack’s wacky adventure searching for his colleagues.

You won’t actually be spending much time searching for your missing superiors though, because the structure of Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is much more about accomplishing smaller side quests. There are pages and pages of these missions, that drop you into a selection of settings and expect you to find and beat up a specific enemy (with a few random battles on the way). This structure was obviously created with Sony’s first portable console in mind, because they are handily bitesize. When settling in for a few hours of gaming on a home console though it’s a bit of a jarring setup, and honestly gets a little repetitive. The gear and materia you get for beating them is at least helpful though, and will help get you ready for the real missions.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion

As well as equipping Materia, you’ll also need to fuse them together if you want to improve your loadout. Combining Materia at random will give you access to new helpful skills, but by paying attention to the stat buffs they provide and maxing their level before fusion you’ll get some really impressive results. After a few fuses I was able to switch out my basic Fire and Blizzard attacks for impressive new spells like Dark Blizzara which dealt extra damage and poisoned and silenced any enemies in my path. It’s a really satisfying system to play around with, and I’m looking forward to seeing what options I’ll have at my disposal in later chapters.

You’ll be aware of most of these mechanics already though if you played the game on the PSP, and you probably want to hear more about the upgrades this remake has to offer. Well firstly the visuals are hugely improved. Some aspects like the environments and summon animations aren’t too far off the level of quality seen in Final Fantasy VII Remake, although admittedly not every aspect of Crisis Core visuals has received the same level of polish. Some minor NPCs especially look downright awful, which was kind of expected but still disappointing.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion

The fantastic audio has been updated too, and has plenty of familiar tunes for fans of the series. A large amount of the voice acting has also been re-recorded too, to ensure the voice actors are the same as in FFVII Remake. It’s a nice touch, and really makes the game feel like it belongs alongside the modern title.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is an action packed spinoff that has me positively gripped at the five hour mark. The combat is fun and fast paced, and the DMV adds an exciting sprinkle of luck to the slashing. If you missed out on this extra chunk of Final Fantasy VII content back on the PSP, then this is your chance to learn more about the backstory of your favourite characters and their lesser known buddy Zack.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is coming to PS4, PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X on December 12, 2022.

Forspoken video offers a deep dive into gameplay mechanics https://www.godisageek.com/2022/10/forspoken-video-offers-a-deep-dive-into-gameplay-mechanics/ Fri, 28 Oct 2022 08:38:10 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=269495 Magic and Parkour.

The post Forspoken video offers a deep dive into gameplay mechanics appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

With the January 24th release date of Forspoken looming, Square Enix and Luminous Productions has kicked off a three part video series. The series is designed to take a “deeper look into the gameplay mechanics for their highly anticipated action-RPG”, and this first video focuses on protagonist Frey’s magic-enhanced parkour skills, and also some of the spells she has in her locker.

You can check out the first part of the series, “Magic Parkour”, below:

You can see that Frey has some kind of high-speed magic parkour that lets her use an almost skateboard-like movement ability. That said, the video talks about stamina management, which we’d bet can be upgraded. It does look like a lot of fluidity is present in the movement, which is great to see. Frey can also use that skateboard (glide ability) to get across water, and land safely with a sort of cushion spell.

The next video in the series, Forspoken – Deep Dive | Magic Combat, releases on November 3, and will dive into the fundamentals of Frey’s magical combat skills. Discover more about the types of magic, attacks and upgrades players can unlock to help Frey battle the wide variety of enemies she’ll encounter throughout her journey. The final video, Forspoken – Deep Dive | Exploring Athia , releases on November 10, and will showcase quests, challenges and various activities that players can find and accomplish across the world of Athia.

Forspoken is a PS5 console exclusive, also coming to PC, and was due this year but was pushed back to January 24th, 2023, to give it a bit more time. It’s shaping up nicely, if this new video is anything to go on, so perhaps it’ll be something to look forward to in the early part of next year. The Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust Story DLC will be available Summer 2023, so it seems Square is going to support this one, too.

A sequel to the hugely popular Octopath Traveler has been announced, coming to PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on February 24, 2023. Octopath Traveler II will take place in the fictional world of Solistia, “a land comprising an eastern and western continent divided by the sea.” Large shipping vessels navigate busy sea routes, with the power of steam providing new technologies to the bustling city. The signature visuals return, with HD-2D graphics, retro pixel art, and 3DCG, looking even better than in its predecessor.

Octopath Traveler II will feature eight new travelers hailing from different regions, all with their own origins, motivations, and unique skills, with players exploring the land, uncovering their stories, and using unique talents to aid them along their journey. They’ll all have a set of Path Actions to battle townspeople, obtain items, take others along on their travels, and more. Returning features like the freedom to develop jobs and skills, and the Break and Boost system, will all return for the sequel. New mechanics are also set to feature.

It’s been four years since the original released, but we gave it a solid 8.5, saying, “Octopath Traveler has brought to mind some of my fondest memories of games like Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy X, Bravely Default, and even a bit of what I played of Romancing SaGa 2. I don’t mention those names lightly and while this is a fantastic JRPG in its own right, it continues to resonate more and more with me as I see how some aspects of my favourite games have been sprinkled in to this game that feels like a love letter to the 16-bit JRPG era but built for the modern era. Octopath Traveler is not only an essential RPG but it is a fantastic reason to buy a Switch if you’ve been craving a meaty JRPG with one of the best soundtracks in gaming and a superb battle system.

Speaking in an official statement on the Babylon’s Fall site, PlatinumGames said: “With the desire of delivering an exhilarating online multiplayer action RPG set in an elaborate high fantasy world, we launched the game’s official service on Thursday, March 3, 2022, and have continued to undertake additional development and operations. However, it is with deep regret to inform you that we will be terminating the game’s service on February 27, 2023“.

The statement continued, saying: “As a result, we will also cancel the large-scale updates that we had planned. In terms of the plan moving forward, Season 2 will run until Tuesday, November 29, 2022, as scheduled, and the Final Season will begin with the maintenance scheduled on the same day. This Final Season is the period during which you can earn the ranking rewards of Season 2″.

As of today (Tuesday, September 13th), sales of the premium currency (Garaz) will be suspended, and sales of the digital version as well as the physical versions on retailer sites will “draw to a close”. Even the demo was pulled on August 29th, so perhaps this might have been something people saw coming. SteamDB reports that at the time of writing there are 2 people in-game on Steam, with a 24 hour peak of 9 players, and a max all-time peak of 1188 players, which was six months ago.

The team says that “As a way of expressing our gratitude to all our players, we plan to implement as many events and other initiatives as we can, leading up to the end of the service”.

There is a host of event missions, quests, and rewards that are planned, but on Monday February 27th, 2023 at 11pm PT (7am UK the following morning), the service will end, and the “Hanging Garden” player site will also close. The game launched on March 3rd, meaning that when it closes down, it won’t have even been out a year. Ouch.

The post The DioField Chronicle is an epic strategy in every sense | Demo Impressions appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

The battles in The DioField Chronicle can change in the blink of an eye. Throughout the demo, available to play to everyone right now, I engaged in countless fights where the ‘real-time tactical battle’ system consistently kept me on my toes, making me pay close attention to every decision I made, and that alone made me so excited to play the full release in September. I’d not been aware of Square Enix and Lacarse’s new strategy RPG, but it’s now firmly on my radar.

Taking place in Alletain where the continent sits on the brink of war, a band of mercenaries known as the Blue Foxes are tasked with defending the kingdom at all costs. The story is filled with political intrigue and depth, not unlike Game of Thrones, where conflict and war has affected everyone. There’s a sense of grandeur in every artistic cutscene that explains the different factions and characters before a mission begins, and even on the battlefield, some of the animations make it feel epic. George R.R. Martin would be proud.

The DioField Chronicle: An epic tale

The bulk of the game takes place on an isometric diorama with stunning visuals, where you play as a party of four characters that all have different skills. Each member of the Blue Foxes has a different class. Andrias is a soldier who can use his agility and speed to assassinate nearby enemies or leap into a fight and deliver efficient blows to multiple targets. Fredet is a cavalier who sits atop a horse to utilise a full frontal assault and added wallop in a battle. Iscarion is a sharpshooter who uses his bow from range to shower down arrows on his enemies, and Waltaquin is a magicker who can cast dangerous spells to kill those who oppose her, or heal members of the party.

You’ll control every member of the party during missions, and can move all of them individually or as an entire unit. Sometimes, it might be necessary to ambush an enemy (which will do more damage if successful) with Iscarion from a distance, in turn distracting them so the rest of your party can surprise them. Other times, you might need to send everyone in a full-scale attack. Whatever strategy you go with, the battles are intense. Selecting the Blue Foxes to attack will let them use their weapons in a standard pattern, however, you can orchestrate specific skills to be unleashed.

A deep strategy experience

Each member has different skills, and new ones can be added with skill points and fancier weapons bought from the shop with guld (the game’s currency). Each one of the skills drains EP, but this can be regained from Jade Fragments that are dropped by enemies or found scattered around the environment. Perhaps the coolest attack, or skill, comes from the Magilumic Orb. The TP gauge is filled by successfully defeated enemies and finding blue Jade Fragments, where three separate parts of the gauge can be filled, each level allowing a more powerful attack. In the demo, I was able to call upon a huge dragon-like beast known as Bahamut to come down from the skies and launch a huge burst of fire energy to do a serious amount of damage.

Along with the soldiers you have to face in The DioField Chronicle, there are also strange creatures as well as the undead. Although I didn’t get to see a ton of variation in the weird and wonderful fantasy elements, it certainly added to its appeal. There’s a wonderful blend of fantasy and medieval influences, where the stories of the Iron Throne and Westeros are a clear influence. The music is even written by the phenomenal Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell from Game of Thrones, making it clear that Square Enix and Lacarse aren’t messing around.

The DioField Chronicle: Building the resistance

Outside of battles, the viewpoint in The DioField Chronicle switches to third-person back at base. Here, you can run around and speak to your friends, or other characters who are a part of the sprawling storyline. At HQ, you can replay previous battles to sweep up any treasures you may have missed, or try and complete the various bonus conditions that lead to more guld and rewards. Certain missions or objectives will allow you to improve your Mercenary Units, leading to added rewards and perks, and by unlocking Blue Fox Badges, you can upgrade your shop to be able to buy new weapons or armour, boost attributes, and more.

Based on the demo, The DioField Chronicle is a deep and satisfying SRPG. Battles are intense, constantly making you pay attention to every decision you make. You never know what’s coming, especially when you think you’re in the clear and two hulking bosses block the path to completing the mission. Enemies are tough, all with different abilities of their own, making every mission I played a genuine thrill. I’m a big fan of what’s to come, and I’d strongly advise you to try the demo. This has the potential to be on multiple GOTY lists come the end of the year, as long as the excitement and depth lasts throughout the entire game.

The DioField Chronicle is set for release on 22nd September 2022.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin has added more content to the game via the first expansion, which is called “Trials of the Dragon King”, and it’s out now.

Available on Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC via Epic Games Store, Team Ninja’s take on Final Fantasy’s first expansion “tells an original story that takes place after the events of the main game, when Jack and his friends visit an island in the Cardian Archipelago to investigate the sudden appearance of Bahamut and to determine whether it is a friend or foe”.

New content in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin – The Trials of the Dragon King expansion includes:

  • New Missions – After clearing the main storyline, players can dive into new missions and experience an original story featuring the Dragon King Bahamut.
  • New Jobs and Weapon Type – A new weapon type, the staff, and three new jobs have been added with DLC: Pilgrim, Evoker and Summoner.
  • Accessories – Players can now equip accessories, which grant various special effects and status improvements.
  • BAHAMUT Difficulty Mode – After clearing the main storyline, players can access a new difficulty level called BAHAMUT.

Mick reviewed the game when it came out in March this year and gave it an 8/10, saying: “It’s not just a Souls clone in Final Fantasy’s skin; it’s a well-made action RPG that only occasional stumbles off the beaten path.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X.

Forspoken delayed into 2023 due to “strategic decision” https://www.godisageek.com/2022/07/forspoken-delayed-into-2023-due-to-strategic-decision/ Wed, 06 Jul 2022 14:10:52 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=264882 "All game elements are now complete"

The post Forspoken delayed into 2023 due to “strategic decision” appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Over on Twitter, the developer Luminous Productions and publisher Square Enix has revealed that Forspoken is being pushed back until January 24th, 2023.

The short statement reads that “As a result of ongoing discussions with key partners, we have made the strategic decision to move the launch date of Forspoken to January 24, 2023. All game elements are now complete, and development is in its final polishing phase”.

Forspoken was originally planned to come out on October 11th, 2022, but even that was after a delay, as it was initially due earlier in 2022.

The statement continued, with parties involved adding: “We would like to thank you for your continued support and patience on this journey. Your excitement for the game inspires us every day and we cannot wait to share more about Forspoken with you later this Summer!”.

It’s definitely something that’s not been though of lightly, thought the official site still has the October release date as of time of writing.

Forspoken follows the journey of Frey, a young New Yorker transported to the beautiful and cruel land of Athia. In search of a way home, Frey must use her newfound magical abilities to traverse sprawling landscapes and battle monstrous creatures.

The game is now due in January 2023, for PS5 and PC.

The post Live A Live is a fascinating release that could go either way | Hands-on preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

After a few hours with Live A Live, it’s clear that on the surface it’s looking to appeal to a couple of audiences. First up, the fans of the HD-2D aesthetic that Square Enix is clearly a big fan of, and has had plenty of success with, thanks to Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy. The second audience is the subset of people who want to play the games that never made it to our shores, because Live A Live is actually a remake of a 1994 SNES title that never got released outside of Japan. The question is, though: was it worth the wait?

The demo that’s available now is a very short slice, and I’ve been playing the full release which as far as I can tell so far, is pretty faithful to the original source material. There are multiple stories that are set across time and space. Multiple scenarios will introduce new protagonists and characters, trying to tie it all together via a central mystery of sorts.

Each story (so far) shares much of the same DNA. These are turn-based JRPG experiences including party systems, and gear. You can move around on the battlefield as a turn-bar fills up, and depending on what type of enemy you face off against, you can avoid attacks, or line up your own. There’s a huge variety of attacks across the stories, and due to the miniature narratives, you level quickly and gain new skills by the bucket load.

Live A Live is a fascinating release that could go either way | Hands-on preview

The individual tales do vary up the combat slightly, however. For example, Twilight of Edo Japan: The Infiltrator adds a stealth mechanic. Here, you’re tasked with getting behind enemy lines and taking out the bad guy, but you can choose to battle or use stealth. A comical animation allows you to vanish right in front of enemies who will continue to look for you, dazed and confused. Reappear, run a bit further, then blink out of existence before they grab you for a fight. It’s a nice touch, and like everything in Live A Live so far, looks lovely.

Should you decide to fight in Twilight of Edo, and win, you’ll get a brief moment where the protagonist (Oboromaru) reflects on how many people he’s killed. The body count goes up as you play, though whether that changes anything at the end, I’m not sure. Likewise, I’m not sure if the stealth option is actually useful. The thing about JRPGs from this era is that combat is fun, but also serves a purpose: levelling up.

In a broader adventure, it doesn’t hurt to run from combat now and then, you can always grind a bit when you fancy it. With Twilight of Edo (again, for example), the mission does seem to suggest a boss fight at some point, which I’d hate to be under-levelled for, because the game itself suggests you save regularly and often, so as not to lose progress. I guess we’ll see on that one.

Live A Live is a fascinating release that could go either way | Hands-on preview

Elsewhere, the faithful recreation of the original in 2022 form shows some cracks around the edges. Imperial China: The Successor story, for example, starts you off with a fully levelled character who is trying to find young progenies to succeed him. This means you’re gaining no XP and are battering everyone without challenge. After you find some potential recruits, you train them… by battering them. Again, they pose no challenge whatsoever but you have to repeatedly fight them in different locations to level them up.

It’s not that this is a bad idea, quite the opposite. It’s unique and clever, but early impressions suggest that it may not actually be that fun to be essentially grinding low-level fights out at the start of a story. Again, though, time will tell if this plays out in an interesting way. It feels very much of its time, where the ideas were good, but the implication on gameplay wasn’t perhaps as fully considered.

But everything so far looks and sounds the part, and even in these early hours it seems that for every bit of a story that doesn’t click (like Imperial China) there will be one that does, like the Far Future section. You can save at will and jump in and out of whichever story you want, with nothing locked off from the get-go, so really, it’s early days for Live A Live. Whatever the eventual outcome is when we get to a scored verdict, nobody will be able to argue that it’s not an interesting, nay, fascinating release to hit Nintendo Switch.

Live A Live launches on July 22, 2022 for Nintendo Switch.

Upcoming all-new action-RPG set in the Valkyrie series, Valkyrie Elysium has been given a release date, and it’s going to be staggered between consoles and PC, says Square Enix.

The console version set to hit PS4 and PlayStation 5 will be coming on September 29th, while the PC (Steam) version will be released on November 11th. Additionally, a digital port of the PSP game Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth will be coming to PS4 and PS5 on September 29th.

There will, of course, be a standard edition available digitally and at retail, while the PC version will get a digital-only standard edition. The digital deluxe edition will be on all systems and will include:

  • 72-hour early access to the full game
  • In-game item “Svartaljr: Sword of the Goddess of the Underworld”
  • A digital version of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (PS4/5 version), the beloved first entry in the Valkyrie series available at last on modern consoles.

The Steam digital deluxe edition also includes an in-game item called “Svartaljr: Sword of the Goddess of the Underworld”. That said, there will also be pre-order bonuses that are exclusive to platforms, as follows:

PS5 and PS4: In-game item “Alscir: Sword of the God of Light”, Valkyrie Elysium Avatar.

STEAM: 72-hour early access rights, Original wallpapers.

If you do buy Valkyrie Elysium on PS4 you’ll also get the PS5 version digitally as well. If you grab the disc version, you’ll need to put that in your drive every time you play the PS5 edition, as standard, so if you have a discless PS5, make sure you do digital for this one.

As if one game wasn’t enough to reboot or remake, at the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration broadcast, Square Enix unveiled Final Fantasy VII Rebirth along with Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.

First up, then the big hitter: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which is the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake. At the broadcast it was not only confirmed that the second part would be coming in 2023, but that the entire remake series of Final Fantasy VII would actually be a three part series. The blurred out logo of the third game was also revealed, with no name, but you can be it’ll be “Re” something.

Curiously, the trailer suggests (to me at least) that the “remake” portion may well be over, and that part two (Final Fantasy VII Rebirth) might be a “part two” rather than a “sequel”, if that makes sense. By the end of Remake the story had already started to warp, and I get the feeling that’s going to happen a lot more with Rebirth. According to the trailer at least, it appears that Rebirth will again launch as an exclusive to Sony, and be PS5 only.

Prior to the big announcement above, Square Enix actually also revealed the ridiculously titled “CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION”, which is a remaster of the 2007 PSP game that you either loved or hated. This one is coming to PS4, PS5, Switch, PC via Steam, and Xbox consoles this Winter.

The 2007 cult classic action RPG and prequel to FINAL FANTASY VII. CRISIS CORE -FINAL FANTASY VII-REUNION is a true remaster that follows the original story of SOLDIER 1st Class Zack Fair on his mission to find missing SOLDIER Genesis Rhapsodos, unraveling the stories of Cloud, Sephiroth, Aerith, Tifa and more.

Again, worth noting Square Enix calls it a “true remaster”, rather than a remake. Good times ahead for fans of the series, with Final Fantasy XVI also apparently nearly done, as well.

There’s been some absolutely huge news in game publishing today, as the Embracer group acquires Square Enix studios. The huge publisher will soon (once the acquisition goes through) be the proud owners of Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montreal, along with their impressive back catalogue of IP. There are plenty of beloved series such as Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief and The Legacy of Kain are among the selection, with a library of over 50 games on their way to Embracer.

“”We are thrilled to welcome these studios into the Embracer Group. We recognize the fantastic IP, world class creative talent, and track record of excellence that have been demonstrated time and again over the past decades. It has been a great pleasure meeting the leadership teams and discussing future plans for how they can realize their ambitions and become a great part of Embracer,” says Lars Wingefors, Co-founder and Group CEO, Embracer Group.

”Embracer is the best kept secret in gaming: a massive, decentralized collection of entrepreneurs whom we are thrilled to become a part of today. It is the perfect fit for our ambitions: make high-quality games, with great people, sustainably, and grow our existing franchises to their best versions ever. Embracer allows us to forge new partnerships across all media to maximize our franchises’ potential and live our dreams of making extraordinary entertainment,” says Phil Rogers, Square Enix America and Europe CEO.”

They may not be a name everyone is familiar with, but Embracer have been growing rapidly in the publishing space over the last few years, with acquisitions of THQ Nordic, Koch Media and Gearbox to name but a few. If this is anything to go by they won’t be stopping anytime soon, so you should get used to seeing them in your video games now.

The post Outriders: Worldslayer is more than just an update | Hands-on preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Back in November 2021, we were invited to play an early version of Outriders’ first major update, New Horizon. Its launch reinvigorated People Can Fly’s bombastic sci-fi shooter with a handful of impressive new features and improvements, but we were assured it was only the beginning. More was coming, they said, and so we came away satisfied but eagerly awaiting the next slice of Outriders content. And now, with the advent of Outriders: Worldslayer, it’s coming.

We were invited once again to take part in an early gameplay session of the new expansion, and this time, People Can Fly mean business.

Right off the bat, the familiar Outriders experience felt bigger and louder in the short preview we played through. Facing off against a huge beast, we got at just what kind of threats we’ll be going up against. Launching in at Apocalypse Tier 3, we were immediately pasted into the floor and had to reduce the difficulty to even stand a chance.

Outriders: Worldslayer

There’s a sense here that People Can Fly are not just attempting to extend the life of their game, but make it massively inviting to new and returning players alike. The combat feels as brutal and weighty as ever, but the introduction of a host of new features that extend deep into the endgame mean there’s more reason to keep coming back than ever before.

Worldslayer is a huge expansion that does more than just improve quality of life. It includes a new story campaign, a higher Gear cap of 75, a new difficulty mode, tons of new items to loot, an improved endgame and ways to continually progress your character beyond the established level cap.

A new villain will emerge in the form of Ereshkigal, a powerful, deadly Altered who threatens humanity’s already tenuous existence on Enoch. The campaign will not only explore this compelling new threat, but also delve deeper into the world of Enoch, its backstory and history. It will even go beyond humanity’s arrival, to shed light on this mysterious, lethal paradise.

Outriders: Worldslayer

Ereshkigal herself is interesting, not only because of what she can do, but because she’s the first real, direct antagonist Outriders has had. She has a clear purpose – which still hasn’t been revealed – and new powers that are unlike anything we’ve seen in Altered humans up to now. As evidenced in the few cutscenes we saw, your player character has grown more comfortable with their own abilities. We can expect sparks to fly when the two finally meet.

As well as introducing new armour, weapons and items, players can also progress their characters beyond the level cap by way of the “PAX tree”. This is a separate skill tree that unlocks at level 30 and essentially allows the creation of subclass specialisations. Alongside this, the Ascension System will allow players to continue to grow and improve their character stats beyond the level cap.

There are four character aspects, Brutality, Prowess, Endurance, and Anomaly, which can be developed in 5 different ways using Ascension Points – up to level 200 – to increase armour, damage, HP or critical attack rates, amongst other things. This will be especially useful during the Apocalypse Tiers, new difficulty tiers that take over from World Tier 15 and go all the way up to Tier 40.

Outriders: Worldslayer

Based on the small amount we played, Outriders: Worldslayer is set to revolutionise People Can Fly’s looter-shooter. The inclusion of so many changes, not just to quality of life but to the endgame and loot economy, mark it as a turning point in the game’s lifespan. It is a paid expansion, though, and will ba available either in a bundle with the base game or as a separate upgrade for existing players.

While we haven’t seen anything of the new endgame mode yet, we’re assured that we’ll receive news before the launch of Outriders Worldslayer on June 22nd 2022.

Outriders is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S & X.

There was a huge gaming announcement over the weekend, as Square Enix and Disney announced that Kingdom Hearts IV is in development. The next part of Sora’s adventure is probably a few years away yet, but compared to the time between the second and third games this is still record timing. As well as a few details about what awaits us in the fourth installment of Kingdom Hearts, a new mobile game Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link was also announced, which will no doubt have all sorts of lore and story snippets for die hard fans.

“In the announcement trailer, Sora makes a triumphant return with an updated look at the beginning of an epic new storyline titled the “Lost Master Arc.” Beginning with Sora facing off in a boss battle against a giant enemy, players are introduced to the Quadratum, a large, expansive city set in a gorgeous, realistic world unlike anything ever seen before in the KINGDOM HEARTS series. Fans will be excited to see the return of Sora’s well-known companions Donald and Goofy, in addition to the first appearance of Strelitzia, a mysterious new character who appears before Sora in this strange new setting.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary with the announcement of two new KINGDOM HEARTS titles,” said KINGDOM HEARTS series Brand Manager, Ichiro Hazama. “We’d like to thank the fans for all of their support over the years, and we can’t wait for them to experience all that’s to come for Sora.”

“Sora is an original Disney video game hero like no other, beloved by our team, and fans across the world. We’ve been honored to work with Tetsuya Nomura and his team for two decades to introduce these original stories of discovery, courage, and friendship,” said Nana Gadd, Director, Walt Disney Games. “This glimpse into Sora’s next adventure is just the beginning – we can’t wait to show more when the time is right.””

The post Triangle Strategy | Where to find the key appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Triangle Strategy is a fairly straightforward game, really, but one moment most people will get stuck on is trying to find the key. I’m being vague here, because obviously if you’ve clicked this by accident, you don’t want the Triangle Strategy key puzzle spoiled, but if you do, or you just can’t find it, you’re in the right place.

The key you need to find in Triangle Strategy is part of Chapter XII (12) called “In the Still of the Night”. It’s a vital part of the story, and if you fail to find the key, you’ll essentially get a “game over” until you reload and actually find it. It stands out as a sore thumb because it’s entirely possible to get to this part of the game having never solved a puzzle that results in a fail state before. But if you do not find the proper key, your entire party die and it’ll be game over.

Triangle Strategy: what is the key?

The key is actually a metaphor and not an actual key at all. It’s a large piece of pink salt which proves a lot about the history of the Norzelia realm. With this, you can talk to the army that’s attacking, and get some time. With the “key” you finally have evidence against the people attacking you.

Avoid the red herrings

There are two solutions that are false. First is the mirror that you can see in the corner by a tree. You can clean this up and it’ll look all shiny, but it’s not the right solution. You can do it to unlock optional conversations, however. Likewise, there’s a pink slice of skin in a house, which opens another dialogue option. But it’s not the key either.

So what do I do?

The key is actually hidden in the elder’s house after all. He’s been lying to you, but you need to get him out of his house, first

First order of business, speak to him and get him to lie, and give you the clue.

Next up, speak to Benedict who is outside the elder’s house, who will say he also wants to search the place.

Next up, speak to Benedict who is outside the elder's house, who will say he also wants to search the place.

Then you need to speak to Frederica, who can lure the Elder outside for a chat.

Then you need to speak to Frederica, who can lure the Elder outside for a chat.

After this, she will go inside and lure him out.

What’s next?

Once in the house, make a beeline for the place he was sitting, as below.

Once in the house, make a beeline for the place he was sitting, as below.

Once you’ve found and uncovered the “pink rock” you can end exploration. You’ll be presented with a scene in which you MUST choose the option regarding the pink rock.

pink rock

Any other option will cause a game over. So offer the pink rock, then continue your adventure.

Where is the elder’s house?

Just in case you can’t find it, spin the camera round look for this location in the middle of the village. Easy peasy!

Where is the elder's house?

And that’s it, you can now continue with your journey in Triangle Strategy: you’ve found the key. No more game overs for you.

Honestly, I can’t help but wonder how and why the name ‘Triangle Strategy’ got approved. As a game built around three nations that’s a strategy game akin to the Fire Emblem titles of the world, I get it, but it’s just silly. I mean, you wouldn’t be as interested if 2018’s ‘God of War‘ was called ‘Angry Shouty Man redemption arc’, would you? Well, maybe. But the studio for Triangle Strategy has previous, with Octopath Traveler, which is the first reason you should be very interested in this badly named Strategy RPG.

So let’s get the obvious out of the way first, it’s clear that Triangle Strategy borrows an aesthetic from Octopath Traveler. Any why not? Both are sublime looking games, with a modern sheen all over a retro style. Both are absolutely gorgeous, and I don’t think I could ever tire of looking at each new environment as I discover it in Triangle Strategy. Whatever feedback that the development team took along the way from its first February 2021 reveal demo, the art hasn’t changed: it’s just beautiful.

Triangle Strategy: From demo to demo

Like many playing that demo a year ago: it was enough. The voice acting, combat, visuals, and general feel of things meant that I was very happy to get to play through the opening chapters over the past week or so. What I would say, however, is you do need to prepare yourself for a lot of talking. The setup for Triangle Strategy is very dialogue heavy indeed, but it is fitting, as it feels as though a grander story is about to unfurl as you complete chapter 3.

Triangle Strategy: From demo to demo

Ultimately, it’s a turn based tactical RPG that feels like an amalgamation of both the more modern Fire Emblem games and the Final Fantasy tactics titles. You get to see your units from an isometric perspective, yet have camera control to move around your soldiers and check you’re not about to be surprised round a corner. There’s a bar at the bottom of the screen that lets you know who’s turn it is next, and I genuinely cannot stress enough how important is it to be tactical. Even early on you can lose units because you’ve not checked out what’s about to happen on the field of battle. Be sure you aren’t about to put your favourite character in harms way, right?

Front and back

Elsewhere you can double-team your enemies by surrounding them. Get protagonist Serenoa of House Wolffort in front of a bandit, with his betrothed, Princess Frederica of House Aesfrost the other side, and you can quickly diminish the health of an opponent by giving them a battering. The three chapters on offer in the free demo suggest there may be something to the type of weapons each unit is vulnerable to, and having Frederica as a fire-based mage lends credence to that. We’ll just have to wait to find out quite how ‘Fire Emblem’ it is, I guess.

Front and back

But there is a lot of talking so far, I can’t deny that. The story seems to revolve around the three countries of the continent of Norzelia. Serenoa of House Wolffort is representing Glenbrook with his childhood friend Prince Roland, son of the King. Frederica is from Aesfrost, while Hyzante controls the Salt mines. Yes, there’s a lot of talk about salt: it’s not just for cooking with, you see. It all feels quite Game of Thrones, in truth, and I am 100% here for that.

Triangles are more than just the name

Towards the end of my time with the opening three chapters, the decision making starts to come into play. Pre-release marketing has shown off the scales of balance in trailers, and it seems like they will be a key plot point. There are parts of the game where you’ll be battling, others where you’re seeing story play out, but also exploration sections. During these moments, you can speak to people in your party and in the area you’re in, and you’ll find out things about the world and it’s people.

Triangles are more than just the name

Right on a key plot point, it turns out this information is truly useful. You see, Serenoa (you), are not a dictator. You want the valuable input of all your players, and they are all individuals who want to make choices based on their own opinions. It’s possible to influence them with knowledge you’ve gained, but otherwise it’ll go to a vote where everyone tosses a coin into the scales of balance, and the decision you play out is based on that result.

All throughout my time with Triangle Strategy, I felt absorbed in the world I was inhabiting. There’s a lot to learn, and it seems like this is going to be a lengthy adventure. But what my time taught me about this one is that there’s more to a game than a name. Yes it’s a bad name, but Triangle Strategy seems very, very good so far. Never judge a book by it’s cover, right?

Triangle Strategy is exclusive to Nintendo Switch, and it’s out on March 4th, 2022. Click here for the full 2022 release calendar

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin might not have the snappiest title in the world, but it’s looking pretty good to my eyes so far. The new screenshots and information just revealed also flesh out the game a lot more, giving an indication of what to expect, including the job systems.

It seems as though there will jobs in the game, as well as returning favourites like Tiamat. Square also sent us a screenshot showing of Astos, the evil king of the Dark Elves from the original Final Fantasy. It’s developed by Team Ninja as is more like the character action games you’d expect from Team Ninja than a traditional Final Fantasy style game.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin offers a look at its job systems

In this screenshot you can see there’s a job tree for each class. Job points are needed to unlock each node on the tree. It even shows you how many job points you currently have, and how many job points you’ll get when you next level up.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin - Job Settings

Likewise, you can see the available jobs for characters like Jack. Stat bonuses, links, a full breakdown of stats on the right side showing that it’s an RPG that lets you build out a character. It’ll be interesting if these stats are affected by jobs, gear, or anything else.

The official word on the job system

You can assign Jack and his companions with different roles in combat, known as ‘jobs’. There are many different combat styles available, from steel-swinging swordsman to the spell-slinging mage.

You’re encouraged to experiment with the different options available by changing which jobs are active on which member of the party. Jack himself is able to seamlessly switch between two options during combat.

There are basic jobs like swordfighter and mage, as well as advanced jobs that are unlocked as you level up basic jobs. There may be even higher-ranking jobs waiting for you if you continue to level Advance Jobs.

By defeating enemies and levelling up, you will obtain Job Points, which can be used to learn new abilities and unlock new jobs in the Skill Tree.

You can find a deeper look at the three newly revealed characters on the official blog, here.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is coming to PS5, PS5, Xbox, and PC (via Epic Games Store) on March 18, 2022.

It may not be the new Mario Kart everyone wants, but Chocobo GP now has a release date and it’s March 10th, 2022.

It is a kart racing game, but it’s set in the world of Final Fantasy, and features characters from that series instead. The new trailer genuinely starts with the line “Ready, set, Chocobo!”. Character wise it doesn’t look like it’ll be main characters from the series, despite there being a story mode. Though I did notice FF9’s Vivi and Steiner there, so perhaps there are characters from other games in the series as well.

There’s also random Chocobo’s like “Camilla”, but also some long-time summons like Shiva.

Here’s the official blurb on the game:

Racers can play through the Story Mode prologue in single player mode and can participate in both local and online multiplayer races with up to eight racers, if hosted by a friend with the full version of the game. Chocobo GP Lite players can also test out the fast-paced 64-player tournaments. Additionally, save data can be carried over from Chocobo GP Lite to the full game. Ensuring players can seamlessly keep any items or currency obtained into their greater racing adventure.

Chocobo GP is exclusive to Nintendo Switch, and is coming on March 10th, 2022.

The post Outriders: New Horizon update could be the beginning of an exciting new era | hands-on preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

We liked Outriders when it launched earlier this year. Its strong loot game, interesting setting and satisfying mix of gunplay and space magic made it an immediate favourite. It was – and still is – also a blast with friends. Despite many gamers being prepared ahead of time to hate on it a little, People Can Fly delivered a solid entry into the looter-shooter genre, which was up to now fully dominated by Destiny 2 and The Division 2.

Now, 6 months after release, People Can Fly and Square Enix have revealed the New Horizon update – and we got to play it ahead of time. Surprisingly, though, we’re not here to tell you that this free expansion is about to revolutionise the core Outriders experience. Because it isn’t; rather, New Horizon is intended to lay the groundwork for persistent support going forward.

Outriders New Horizon

It adds four new, large-scale Expeditions, and introduces a much-requested transmog system called “meshes”. As Outriders has such cool gear design in the late game, this is a massive win. Unfortunately though, Outriders: New Horizon doesn’t increase the level cap, or add new skills or gear. This is very much the beginning of something, rather than the be-all and end-all.

The four new Expeditions take place in a variety of locales, and are designed to test even the hardiest players. As with the main game, if you want the best loot you’ll need to play on higher world tiers, and survival is a tall order. One significant change is the removal of mission timers from Expeditions. You’ll still be rewarded for efficient play and teamwork, but the onus is no longer on speed.

Outriders New Horizon

City of Nomads was probably the most fun of the four from what we’ve seen so far. Set in a huge ancient ruin, you’ll fend off hordes of alien nasties and battle against looters trying to take what’s yours. In The Wellspring you’ll need to explore a ruined village occupied by the enemy, all to get your hands on the shower of glorious loot at the end. Molten Depths has you delve into the heart of mountain, and Marshal’s Complex tasks you with liberating a strategic facility from the enemy.

A combination of horde mode and boss rush, the Outriders: New Horizon Expeditions revel in throwing heaps of enemies, elites and minibosses at you, and the new four are no exception. We failed multiple attempts at each before we finally succeeded – but this is endgame content. Difficulty is kind of a prerequisite. Outriders has seen significant tweaks to balancing and performance in the last half a year, and it shows in the update. Even being able to use legendary gear and weapons, we had to tweak the world tier a few times in our favour.

Outriders New Horizon

Each new area does a great job of capturing the cathartic fun of Outriders, but it would be more impactful if it included a raise to the level cap, or even the gear score. As it is, players already at max won’t have anything new to chase – although the new content is a welcome addition after 6 months. For many, the new transmog system will be one of the biggest draws.

Called “meshes”, this allows you to use any piece of earned gear as a skin. This includes legendary items, as well as weapons. During the preview event we dossed around with a lot of different pieces (handily there’s an option to equip full sets in one go), but it wasn’t entirely clear if there would be a currency involved like in Destiny 2. It would appear not though, which means we’ll all be out there looking incredible while blasting holes in the planet.

Despite having its share of ups and downs since launch, Outriders is a game that proved popular with the public. If nothing else, this upcoming update shows that People Can Fly and Square Enix are committed to supporting it going forward. Hopefully Outriders: New Horizon really is the beginning of an exciting new era for Outriders that will carry it into next year and beyond.

The post War for Wakanda brings the best Avenger to the fray | Hands-off preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Marvel’s Avengers has been one of the weirdest releases of the last few years. The main campaign was thoroughly enjoyable, but it has taken a lot of time for the online elements to pick up. The end game content had been pretty sporadic. Once finishing Ms Marvel and the Avengers story, there was little to do to keep players coming back. Square Enix has been working hard on rectifying that. They brought Kate Bishop and Hawkeye to the line-up, but a more popular and superior hero was missing. With War for Wakanda, they’ve finally introduced one of the greatest Marvel characters to the game, and it’s looking pretty damn good.

Marvel's Avengers: War for Wakanda Crossbones

Black Panther has a vast legacy in the Marvel comics. First introduced 55 years ago, T’Challa has had some of the coolest stories, such as A Nation Under Our Feet and Enemy of the State. My personal favourite is Doomwar, just because Doctor Doom’s a bad ass, and we got to see the Prince’s sister Shuri don the cowl. Whatever arc you love, Black Panther is an icon. I recently watched a whole hour of gameplay from the War of Wakanda expansion coming to Marvel’s Avengers. While it does feel like much of the mission structure is similar, playing as T’Challa is going to be lots of fun.

CHECK THIS OUT: Is Halo still relevant in 2021?

War for Wakanda: Impressive abilities

One of the reasons I enjoy playing Marvel’s Avengers is the gameplay. Each hero feels unique in their own right. Captain America is by far my favourite to play as. His movement is excellent, but he utilises the shield in a multitude of ways and is incredibly agile. Seeing Black Panther wipe out Ulysses Klaue’s mercenaries, it’s clear he’s going to be an instant fan favourite. He can clear great distances with a long jump and double jump, climb walls, and even wall run when scratch marks are visible.

Marvel's Avengers: War for Wakanda Powers

It’s his variety of moves that not only look good, but they have a wide range of options for different enemies. He can throw daggers at enemies from long range; dive onto soldiers and slash their face multiple times with his claws; whip bad guys to the ground by grabbing their head between his legs; and so much more. His Heroics are also pretty fantastic. Black Panther’s Support is called Kimoyo Beads, where he throws them at a bunch of enemies and stuns them, also lowering their impact resistance and making them easier to interupt.

The Assault Heroic is called King’s Mercy, and sees T’Challa launch a spear made up of kinetic energy. It can pin up to three enemies, and do some serious damage. Finally, the Ultimate Heroic is called Bast’s Chosen (after the Panther God that gave Bashenga and his entire lineage the power they possess). It summons Bast and provides a 20% reduction to damage, and a 10% increase in damage dealt. Like previous heroes, all abilities can be upgraded, and new attacks can be learnt. Black Panther’s skill tree is impressive. Levelling it up looks like it will provide a serious edge in battle.

CHECK THIS OUT: Tales of Arise is filled with remarkable visuals and an engaging story

Marvel's Avengers: War for Wakanda Fighting

Similar ground

Although the combat and gameplay looks awesome, the mission structure looks very similar. Go there, destroy the things, defend the place. Whilst it’ll probably be fun doing so thanks to Black Panther’s abilities, it doesn’t quite add anything new. Wakanda looks incredible, though. The palace in the Golden City, the War Room, and the view. My God, the view. Looking across the technologically advanced utopia is gorgeous at 1080p, and I can’t wait to see it in 4K. Back to the repetition. It feels as though Square Enix is struggling to mix things up, and has gone with relying on the same formula.

This is what is likely to split the fanbase. Some players crave for new stuff to do, while others just want new characters and locations. I personally enjoy blasting through missions and beating the crap out of everything I see. I do believe Marvel’s Avengers could do with a shake up to end game content, but I wouldn’t really know what they can do now. It feels like it has been too long now to try and throw new modes in.

Marvel’s Avengers: War for Wakanda is looking great. T’Challa’s moves in battle look silky smooth, and the nation of Wakanda is stunning. It’s good to see some new villains, too. Ulysses Klaue was an obvious choice, but the cameo from Crossbones was a nice addition, and players are going to enjoy beating the hell out of him. Whether you enjoy constant fighting and the fluid movement or crave for a new challenge, I do believe it will offer it to you, if even for a few hours. The story still has a lot of legs. I hope that other big names get added over the next few years. Captain Marvel, anyone?

War for Wakanda is due for release on Tuesday 17th August 2021 on all formats.
