All long car journeys should start with a checklist. Tyre pressures? Check. Window washers filled? Check. Fresh oil? Check. Fruit Pastilles? Check. Taking much the same approach to the modern open-world racer, The Crew Motorfest ticks a whole lot of boxes in Ubisoft’s upcoming racer.

A day/night cycle, point to point cross-country races, custom avatars, genre-based music playlists, bumper to bumper street racing, online leaderboards, dynamic weather, shops full of clothes and parts and paints. Oh and not to forget a vast array of endlessly upgradable & customisable cars, bikes, planes, and boats for you to recklessly chuck around. This is a celebration of things that go fast, with all tastes being catered for.

Opening up jumping between various car types including F1 style open wheelers and sharp edged Lamborghinis to the sounds of Royal Blood and Nancy Sinatra, the cinematic sequence aims to give you a stylish, tantalizing taste of what’s to come. Following those first few moments, it’s impossible to ignore just how closely The Crew Motorfest follows the Forza Horizon formula, and that’s no bad thing in my books.

The Crew Motorfest

For those who have experience of Playground Games series, there’s a strong sense of the familiar, tinged with early 2000s nostalgia. With bright neon signage reflected in streets full of small puddles and the inclusion of nitrous oxide for an extra burst of speed, at times it feels a lot like older, classic Need for Speed titles. Throwing the backend of an Impreza sideways through tight 90 degree turns, you almost instantly feel at home. For those who have yet to experience this style of racer, get strapped in, because it’s going to be one hell of a ride.

Whether you prefer blasting down the open highway on a classic Harley Davidson, drifting tight mountain passes in a Honda NSX, or just soaking up the sights and sounds of modern Hawaii in a classic Aston Martin, there’s sure to be an option here to take your fancy. From tight city blocks to steep mountain climbs, vast muddy hillsides to open sandy beaches, this is an island imploring you to explore the vistas, even if it’s often at over 150mph.

Lush forests and volcanic rock formations fly by your windshield, offering a brief glimpse of paradise. With options for both graphical performance or fidelity, I chose to go with performance. Whilst easily steady at 60fps, there was no obvious drop in graphical quality throughout, with only one instance of texture pop-in during my time with the closed beta.

The Crew Motorfest

Including the now obligatory rewind feature, allowing you to rewind up to fifteen seconds before you smashed into that billboard and try the corner again, this game welcomes both seasoned racers and newcomers alike. With myriad assist and accessibility options, as is standard with Ubisoft games nowadays, you can quickly and easily adapt the difficulty to your own personal preference. There’s a full suite of options allowing more experienced racers to tweak brake bias, gearing, and much more to their liking, showing further nuance to the car feel than I would have previously expected.

The AI racing itself feels very human, with mistakes being made by the CPU opponents, often providing you with an opportunity to dive up the inside. This isn’t just cars stuck to the racing line, Scalextric style. This is a more dynamic system and will keep you glancing to the rear, fending off the GTR bearing down on your tailpipe, right up to the finish line.

Much like Riders Republic before it, there’s a lot of character injected into the Hawaii’s locales & NPCs, but with seemingly much less cringe than that game. Racers take verbal pot shots at each other, praise your driving skills and admonish you for those slightly less than gentlemanly racing lines. Between your vehicle’s AI/GPS hybrid and radio chatter from your competitors, there’s never a quiet moment. Depending on your tolerance to a continuous stream of chit-chat, your mileage may vary as to whether this is a deal breaker or not.

Alongside the voice acting, the sounds here offer all of the guttural growl, high pitched whine and squealing rubber that you could ask for. With music and engine notes being filtered out as you launch off a cliffside to drop 50m to the dirt below, bass kicking in hard as wheels regain traction, I’m reminded of SSX. Here too is an eclectic mix of artists and genres, meaning that the perfect track to tear past your opponents is never more than a button press away.

Speaking of which, The Crew Motorfest offers excellent haptic feedback support on PlayStation 5, with every slip and slide of your chosen vehicle being fed back with subtle nuance. It’s easy to underestimate how much this cements you into the world, allowing every opportunity to correct your overzealous acceleration out of a corner.

After my few hours with The Crew Motorfest, I’ve gone from mild intrigue to eagerly awaiting release day. The Crew Motorfest promises hours of frantic fun, preferably with friends, that I can’t wait to get to grips with. Watch your back Forza. I hear trouble coming.

The Crew Motorfest is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X on September 11th, 2023.

Laced Records has announced that pre-orders are open for the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope soundtrack on vinyl, and that it’ll be a triple-LP full of music from the “legendary team-up of Yoko Shimomura, Grant Kirkhope & Gareth Coker”.

The Galactic Edition features sky blue, orange, and blurple (!) galaxy-effect discs, and is exclusive to Laced Records, and both versions will set you back £50, regardless of edition. It’s a 52-track soundtrack, and Laced says it has “been specially remastered for the vinyl format and will be pressed onto heavyweight discs”. The vinyl for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope will come in “spined inner sleeves, all contained in a widespined slipcase”.

Here’s some of the official word from the press release, and our video review for the game:

Talk about a composer dream team — the credits of Yoko Shimomura, Grant Kirkhope and Gareth Coker speak for themselves. 35-year veteran Shimomura-san has touched many of the most beloved series including Street Fighter, Mario RPG, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy and more. Kirkhope has created some of the most recognisable and beloved soundtracks in gaming, including GoldenEye 007, Banjo-Kazooie and Viva Piñata. The relative newcomer of the trio, Coker has amassed an enviable credits list, having helmed the Ori and Ark series as well as working on Minecraft and Halo Infinite.

The three talents were tactically deployed across the score by audio director Romain Brillaud, bringing different orchestral and electronic sensibilities to the game. Kirkhope retained his “friendly-epic” sound from Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and was assigned the narrative and character elements of the sequel’s soundtrack. Nothing can rouse the troops quite like Shimomura-san’s stirring piano and orchestral style, and she typically wrote Sparks of Hope’s battle cues. Coker helped bring new colours and emotions to specific settings in the game as well as some boss fights, touching on styles including French impressionism to enrich the score. The whole OST is remarkably cohesive, aided by joint orchestral recording sessions that took place in Tokyo, Japan.

Nintendo composer Koji Kondo and his co-composer on Super Mario Galaxy, Mahito Yokota, supervised the soundtrack, and it won “Best Original Video Game Score” at the Ivor Novello Awards 2023.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is out now for Nintendo Switch.

Many people are excited for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the latest in the mainline series, because for almost sixteen years, the Assassin’s Creed series has been entertaining the masses with its blend of stealth gameplay and historical settings. The series has evolved significantly since those initial games though, with a whole host of RPG elements added to the huge environments to make games that almost feel too vast.

After a couple of years focused solely on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, fans of the series have been interested in where the series will go next. Well Ubisoft is ready to unleash new details on a whole host of games in the series that are coming soon, so let’s dive in shall we?

Nexus VR

Assassin's Creed Nexus (VR)

The Assassin’s Creed games have always been very immersive experiences, featuring plenty of ancient locales to explore and historic monuments to climb. Well what better a fit for the series than VR, especially since most of the games essentially take place in a sort of fictional VR anyway. Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR will put you in the shoes of fan favourite assassins from the series, and allow you to feel even more hands on with the stealth takedowns than ever. The idea of playing as my boy Ezio and flicking my wrist to murder a corrupt despot is ridiculously cool, so get your Quests ready to join in the fun.

Jade: mobile Assassin’s Creed

Assassin's Creed Jade

Next up we got to find out more about Assassin’s Creed Jade, which is a fully fledged Assassin’s Creed game coming to iOS and Android soon. Ubisoft clearly wants this game to be essential for fans of the series, because it looks fantastic. Set in 3rd century China (between the Odyssey and Origins games) you’ll be surrounded by Great Walls and gorgeous flora and fauna. It’s also the first Assassin’s Creed game that will allow you to customise the appearance of your character, which is an interesting twist. There’s a closed beta starting this summer, so look forward to more mobile murder news very soon.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Assassin's Creed Mirage

These two games sound great, but really what we’re all eager to find out more about is the next mainline game in the series – Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Development on this year’s big Assassin’s Creed release is being handled by Ubisoft Bordeaux for the first time, with the support of eleven other studios with experience with the Creed.

The main message Ubisoft had to share about Assassin’s Creed Mirage is that this game is taking Assassin’s Creed back to its roots. Everything from the less RPG focused gameplay to the middle eastern setting really means this game feels like a modern update of the original Assassin’s Creed, with the main focus of the gameplay being assassinating targets and stealthing away.

Set in 9th century Baghdad, you’ll be thrust into an important moment in the history of the assassins. Our hero Basim starts out the game as a street thief, and while trying to figure out what’s going on with his nightmares ends up on a journey up the ranks of the assassins. It seems like a fairly tradition story for the series, but Ubisoft Bordeaux are promising plenty of historical figures to meet and some surprises along the way.

Assassin's Creed Mirage

What really surprised me about the gameplay shown of Assassin’s Creed Mirage was how much it looked like the older games in the series. Initially it honestly felt like I was watching footage of a remote of one of the early entries in the series, and that seems to be the vibe they’re going for. Basim had a target to take out so parkoured along the roofs, dived into a bush and then wandered over to a group of people and blended in with them in classic AC style.

It wasn’t long before Basim was discovered though and everything kicked off, which meant we got to see the tools he has at his disposal. Again, none of these feel very revolutionary, it’s just classic stealth tools we all know and love. Smoke bombs will never go out of style, and hearing a guard shout “shit you little bastards” as his buddy fell to the floor with a blow dart in his neck was priceless.

Assassin's Creed Mirage

Although very much an old school Assassin’s Creed experience, Mirage does have a few new tricks up its sleeve to shake up the gameplay. One of the coolest of these was his bird Enkidu, who you can control and use to tag enemies to make life easier. Basim also has some sort of time stopping ability that allows him to target multiple enemies within range of him and automatically teleport between them and slash them to death. This looked as awesome as it sounds, and will probably be really bloody useful.

There’s one final aspect of Assassin’s Creed Mirage that needs to be mentioned, and that’s the price. The aim of Mirage was to create a game with a more condensed scope, and because of that the price will be lower than you might expect. $50 will bag you Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and even the Ultimate edition will set you back less than most AAA games at $60. Ubisoft could have easily charged full price for this game, so it’s nice to know you’ll be spending a bit less on the 12th of October.

There’s a lot to unpack now for fans of the hidden blade, with three new Assassin’s Creed games coming soon. Whether you’re excited about playing a VR game, on mobile or the next big budget console release, there’s plenty of opportunities for stealth takedowns in your future.

The post The Crew Motorfest could rival the might of Forza Horizon | Hands-on preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

It’s always easy to compare games to each other. These comparisons don’t always mean the similarities are a bad thing, nor do they mean you know what to expect. In the case of The Crew Motorfest, it feels like Forza Horizon 5 in a lot of ways, however, it also has potential to rival, in my opinion, the greatest racing game in recent years. This is dependant on one huge factor, though. Yes, from what I played in the preview, Ubisoft looks to have nailed the balance between arcade and simulation, but it is in the events and opportunities in exploration where we’ll know for sure.

Regardless, The Crew Motorfest feels like a dream to play. Not only does the variety in vehicles I raced in feel different enough to challenge you on various terrain, they all offered superb handling and control. While the Lamborghinis zoomed around the tracks at breakneck speed, they were also tight around corners and responsive when turning. The street cars had great drift when tearing it up around the Japanese-inspired streets lit up in neon, and the jeeps across the forests all controlled as good as they possibly could.

In the preview of The Crew Motorfest, I spent a short amount of time with each of the vehicles on offer. This section was more of a taster of what the various vehicles were like and how they felt to race with. It’s too early to tell how they’ll control when taking them across Hawaii, but as of right now, I’m so excited to try them all out and understand what they’re capable of. Once I’d tested them out in a short tutorial, I was able to pick one of the playlists (featuring a dedicated car) and participate in a couple of races.

The Crew: Motorfest Lamborghini

It was like picking a favourite child, but I decided to go with the Lamborghinis over the vintage cars. As much as I liked the style and class that exuded from them, the Lambos were like racing on air. While you can use nitro to reach great speeds, the acceleration felt perfect, and reaching higher speeds never impacted how much control I felt like I had over them. One of the courses had me reaching certain checkpoints within the time limit, and utilising nitro made all the difference as some sections weren’t as forgiving as others.

I only had 30 minutes with The Crew Motorfest, but it feels as though the influence of Forza is in Ubisoft’s latest is clear, and that’s a great thing because of how accessible it felt to players of all skill levels. I’m not the best racer, but Motorfest was so balanced in its racing that I never felt out of my depth. The visuals are stunning, and the environments within Hawaii were vastly different to one another, yet equally as impressive.

When my time was up, I just wanted to go again. I wanted to explore the island and see what else The Crew Motorfest had to offer. It’s a testament to how good the handling was, and how well-presented everything is. There’s so much more to see and do, but what wasn’t really on my radar before sits now firmly near the top. The playlists are going to give players plenty of opportunities to try out a range of events across the island, and there’re various unlockables and more to discover, including some popular American vehicles (I spied the DeLorean!!) set to arrive. Roll on release day, whenever that may be.

The post The Division Resurgence is a mobile game for the fans | Hands-on preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

I’ve never been a big fan of mobile gaming. It’s always been tricky to differentiate between the games made with a clear vision and ambition, and the games made to siphon your cash as quickly as possible. And often when you do manage to separate the two, there’s still significant overlap. But there are plenty around that at least offer a meaty chunk of content before they start stinging you, and surprisingly, The Division Resurgence looks set to fall into this category.

This is essentially The Division 1.5, slotting in-between the two mainstream games in terms of story and lore. It comes after the events of the original, and reintroduces a handful of characters. I wouldn’t go so far as to call them “fan-favourites”, but it’s nice to see certain faces again if you played the original way back when.

The Division: Resurgence

At brass tacks level, it plays the same as the main games. It’s a third-person cover shooter that sees you fight your way through a ravaged New York City, fighting down the same old gangs in the same old streets. The “Resurgence” part of the title is the giveaway here: everything you did in the first game has kind of been undone, all the snake-heads you severed have grown back, and it’s up to you to go out and machete them all off again.

It will also feature pretty much all the content of the base release, including the PvP Conflict mode and the Dark Zone, The Division‘s PvPvE mode that gave the original game its legs for quite some time. Both modes will work the same as they did before, with dedicated instances for both and their own line of rewards for taking part.

I played through the first five story missions in the preview build, and took care of a few side missions along the way and it was satisfying to be back in this world. The shooting feels just as smooth as it did before, with a satisfying zip and crackle when headshots drop an enemy or you stich a line of body shots across some ruffian’s windbreaker.

The Division: Resurgence

That The Division Resurgence has a full campaign as well as open world gameplay is both welcome and encouraging. With the added emphasis on cosmetic microtransactions, this could easily have been a PvP-focused cash grab, but there’s actually been some work put into it. The cover system is smooth, and shooting feels precise and responsive.

In the interest of science I played with the touchscreen controls for as long as I could. I really don’t enjoy having my massive thumbs obscuring half my screen – but then I was playing on an Oppo Reno-8 which is hardly a gaming phone. The 6.43 inch screen doesn’t lend itself to a UI that’s half-covered with prompts and touch buttons. I switched to my Gamesir X2-36 Bluetooth controller after about half an hour and the experience rapidly improved.

Played like this, it might as well have been any handheld game on a Switch or Steam Deck – though with some fairly massive graphical concessions. Again, my phone isn’t built for gaming so I was thankful I could run it so smoothly on Medium settings. On a low/mid-range phone the environments are covered in low-detail textures, the colours are too bright with very little shading, and there was horrendous texture pop-in throughout. That said, it’s a work in progress, and a more powerful device would likely yield better results for sure.

The Division: Resurgence

There were a few noticeable issues though, and not all technical. Your “partner” for the first few missions is Agent Kelly, one of those no-nonsense characters that the writers couldn’t decide on a personality for. She’s either rude to the point of frustration or offering to buy you a cold one, and her repeated cries of “Found some cover!” made it fortunate that I couldn’t turn around and shoot her myself.

Read our interview with The Division 2 creative director

In between missions there’s the standard Division hub where you can buy and sell gear, upgrade your equipment, and access your stash. This is very much The Division all over again and anyone familiar with the franchise will feel right at home. You can jump directly to a mission at any time from the map screen, too, which is convenient, and load times are surprisingly tight.

The Division Resurgence lacks the decayed beauty of the larger games, but loses little of the gameplay flavour. The loot system remains almost unchanged, with an onus on collecting sets for the bonuses they offer, and upgrading to succeed. It is very much the game you played before, with a different selection of Specialities but the same familiar gameplay nestled within each. After character creation I chose Vanguard, a class that carries a section of deployable cover, but I rarely found a use for it as there’s cover pretty much everywhere. Perhaps the Demolitionist would be more up my street.

The Division: Resurgence

Ubisoft have yet to show the cash shop in full swing so I can’t speak to prices or what it will sell, but at the very least the gameplay offers something for fans of the franchise to get their teeth into without MTX. It’s early days, but getting me interested in a mobile game is always a tough sell, and I came away from The Division: Resurgence at least looking forward to playing more.

The Division Resurgence is slated to release on iOS and Android in 2023.

At the Xbox Games Showcase, Ubisoft and Lucasfilm Games showed off a brand new open world title called Star Wars Outlaws. It’ll be coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC through Ubisoft Connect in 2024, and a first look will premier during Ubisoft Forward on June 12.

Development is being led by Massive Entertainment and will show players a period of Star Wars set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

As the Galactic Empire relentlessly pursues the final defeat of the Rebel Alliance, the criminal underworld thrives. Fans will play as cunning scoundrel, Kay Vess, brought to life by Humberly González, and her loyal companion Nix, played by Dee Bradley Baker (Star Wars: The Bad Batch™), as they attempt one of the greatest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen. Seeking the means to start a new life, players will join Kay and Nix as they fight, steal, and outwit their way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates and join the galaxy’s most wanted.

“When we first imagined the first open-world Star Wars game, we explored where and when it could take place, and quickly realized that we had all the right ingredients for the journey of a scoundrel. These outlaws live life under the thumb of the Galactic Empire, but can still thrive given the opportunities that the criminal underworld opens up for people looking to take advantage of the turmoil,” said Julian Gerighty, Creative Director at Massive Entertainment. “The time is ripe for a new outlaw to make their name, and Kay Vess is written in the stars.”

“With Star Wars Outlaws, we’re excited to deliver the first truly open world Star Wars game, with an action-adventure story filled with characters and planets both new and well-known to the Star Wars galaxy,” said Douglas Reilly, vice president, Lucasfilm Games. “We have been working closely with the talented team at Massive Entertainment, and with their years of experience in creating richly-detailed worlds, we’re excited for fans to be able to jump into the Star Wars scoundrel fantasy like never before.”

The post Assassin’s Creed Mirage is coming this October appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released on October 12th, revealing the first gameplay glimpse at the PlayStation Showcase. With many assuming the Assassin’s Creed franchise might be taking the year off, rumours had started to swell around it actually being this year, and that turned out to be correct.

We’ve got the new reveal trailer (which shows gameplay as well as cut-scenes) below, and also the official word from the press release. Ubisoft says that the trailer “follows Basim, guided by his fellow Hidden Ones, leveraging his tools and skills to track down and eliminate his targets”.

With development led by Ubisoft Bordeaux, the studio behind the Wrath of the Druids expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an homage to the series, and a particularly special tribute to the first Assassin’s Creed. Inviting players to immerse themselves in a magnificent ninth-century Baghdad at the peak of its Golden Age, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage offers a condensed, narrative-driven action-adventure experience with a modern take on the parkour, stealth, and assassinations gameplay elements that have defined the franchise for over fifteen years.

In this pivotal moment of History, players will become Basim Ibn Is’haq, a young thief with a mysterious past who joins the Hidden Ones in Alamut on a quest for answers. Basim will be voiced by two talented actors: Lee Madjoub for the VO and Eyad Nassar for the Arabic version, as Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is the first Assassin’s Creed game to release worldwide with full Arabic localisation, including text and voice. They are joining the incredible Mirage cast with Shohreh Aghdashloo, who will voice Roshan, Basim’s mentor in the Hidden ones.

Ubisoft also says that Basim is “one of the most agile and resourceful Assassins in franchise history”, and that he is all about stealth and deadly assassinations, which will be music to the ears of fans wanting a return to that kind of gameplay. While the game is being led, development wise, by Ubisoft Bordeaux, associate studios include Ubisoft Belgrade, Ubisoft Craiova, Ubisoft Montréal, Ubisoft Montpellier, Ubisoft Philippines, Ubisoft Quebec, Ubisoft Shanghai, Ubisoft Singapore, Ubisoft Sofia, Ubisoft Kyiv, Ubisoft Odessa, and Ubisoft Bucharest, so it’s safe to say a lot of the teams are working on this one.

The post The Division 2 Descent mode is exactly what Ubisoft’s shooter needs | Hands-on preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Even the most diehard fan of The Division 2 will likely admit that the game has grown a little stale in the years since the release of the Warlords of New York update. Well, you’ll all be happy to know that developer Massive Entertainment has been hard at work on not only new content to quicken the standard game, but also on a whole new mode designed to cater to veterans and newcomers alike. The Division 2: Descent is set to shake up the game in a number of ways, and we’ve been playing it.

While Descent won’t make sweeping changes to the core game (although those changes are on the way thanks to the return of Incursions as well as new content), it adds an entirely new way to play and enjoy The Division 2.

It’s a roguelike, you see, which exists in the internal lore as a programme for training Division agents in a series of virtual environments. You begin each run with nothing but a rifle and a handgun, and must fight through a sequence of arenas to take out the boss. It’s endless and frantic, and as challenging as you want it to be.

The Division 2 Descent

It begins each time with you spawning in as a random agent. You’ll select weapons from a small loadout menu that grows as you defeat bosses and purchase unlockables. Then you’re off into the training area where you get to pick your path through room after room from Easy, Medium and Hard choices. Once you enter, you’ll notice certain doors are glowing red – this is where enemies will spawn. It’s always a set number of enemies and is always random entrances, and encourages you to think about cover and positioning.

Not only that, but limited resources mean you need to think hard about ammo conservation, when to use medkits and grenades, and which perks to select between rooms. You’ll be able to take one special item in from a random selection of three, including incinerator drones, HIVE healing devices, and sticky bombs and riot foam. Ideally, you’ll use your handgun to take out the first few rooms, to save ammo for the boss. If you fail to beat the fifth room in a sequence, you’ll lose your accrued rewards and will need to restart.

It’s a neat little gameplay loop that offers the same mechanics as the main game, but in tighter spaces with the promise of currency, not loot. Enemy composition feels a little skewed toward units who will rush your position, but that may be deliberate as it forces you to move. You’ll have nowhere near the same level of gear or loadout as you enjoy in the main game, which makes Descent perfect for newcomers or veterans. You’re all on an even playing field.

Division 2 Descent

Between rooms you’ll be able to select perks from several trees including Tactical and Defence. These perks offer buffs that last for the duration of a run, and include things like shield refills on kills, or heightened accuracy. Almost everything is completely random, so there is a luck factor at play. I’m not a big fan of RNG in these situations, but it at least ensures that Descent feels dynamic.

Exotic talents add a further dimension to your character build for each run. These are talents pulled directly from The Division 2’s unique exotic weapons, that you can simply apply to your agent to offer massive buffs and bonuses. Take “Plague of the Outcasts” from the exotic weapon Pestilence, for example, which allows you to apply tick-damage to enemies regardless of the gun you’re using.

Obviously, you’ll have a better time playing with two other agents. Playing solo you can’t revive yourself if you’re downed, and many of the encounters benefit greatly from being able to coordinate with at least one other person for flanking and cover fire. That said, playing viable is perfectly acceptable; it’ll just be tougher – especially as you can’t even replenish ammo and items without banking currency, and you can’t bank currency without beating a boss.

The Division 2 Descent 003

My biggest complaint with The Division 2 Descent is that death returns you to Washington DC. This means that if you’re playing on harder difficulties and dying a lot, you’re going to spend an absolute ton of time looking at loading screens. It desperately needs fixing so that death returns you to the start of the simulation and not all the way out to DC. It’s really, really annoying that it was overlooked at all in this day and age.

But what the Descent offers in terms of gameplay loop and, crucially, refreshing the Division 2 experience as we move into Year 5 is impressive. The claustrophobic, cover-heavy environments of The Division 2 make for excellent locations for tight, desperate gunfights, and the constant promise of reward is a great motivator.

With three more content Seasons heading to The Division 2 in Year 5, Descent is the perfect opportunity for new people to get in and get used to the mechanics, while giving long-time players a new way to test their skills and enjoy their favourite shooter. More than this though, it’s concrete evidence that Ubisoft isn’t done with The Division 2. It’s massive, massive news for fans of the franchise and is undoubtedly the shot in the arm that this series needs to get it back on track.

The Division 2 has been going for five years now. Let that sink in for a moment… five years. As this article goes live, the team at Massive Entertainment will have just released a boat-load of new information for the game, all in aid of celebrating the fifth year of the game. Ahead of “The Division Day” we got a chance to sit down with Massive’s Yannick Banchereau to talk about potential features, the future for the game, and how he feels about it all these days, overall.

Five years in, how does he feel about The Division 2, overall?

I’m really excited for our players and fans to learn more about what’s happening in The Division story. Getting ready to introduce new Year 5 content, we are fully committed to not only maintaining a live game, we’re also expanding on the game and trying to make it an even better experience. We love our Division Agents and we welcome new players. Going from Year 3 to year 4 to Year 5 content has been an ambitious task. But we haven’t shown any signs of slowing down. We’re actually picking up steam going into Year 5. We continue to be ambitious and we’re excited about Year 5. I always like to tell people that live games don’t get old if they are maintained properly. That’s the mindset we have when it comes to The Division 2.

Would there be any chance of cross-play and cross-save coming to more platforms?

The reality is when The Division 2 was release, crossplay wasn’t as big as it is now. At the time, the online infrastructure for The Division 2 wasn’t built to support crossplay. If we were to explore crossplay for the game at this time, it would require a massive overhaul of the infrastructure. So the overall scope would be quite a bit to take on at this time.

An interview with The Division 2 creative director, Yannick Banchereau

Are there any features of the newer consoles you’d still love to take advantage of?

I actually play on PC so I can’t give much inside on the newer consoles. From what I hear, the feedback on the PS5 has been pretty amazing, so I would be curious to see how we could take advantage of those features in terms of graphics. But again, my knowledge of the new consoles is limited since I specifically play on PC.

Are there any plans to revamp the PvP element?

We intend to make improvements to PvP. That said, we don’t have plans for a major overhaul or a big PvP update at this time. But we are looking to make slight improvements moving forward. We recently restarted our Elite Task Force program where we have players come to the studio and talk about features of the game. We’d like to have a PvP-specific Elite Task Force to help us improve the PvP experience, with the emphasis on quality of life, fixes and feature improvements.

Is the new roguelike DLC the shape of things to come in The Division 2?

After Descent, there are no plans to develop additional game modes in the near future. Once Year 5 is released, our plans will shift to maintaining the game and helping with improvements along the way. Those will be the priorities once Year 5 is out.

What’s your favourite thing about the year 5 content that you can tell us about?

I’m really excited about the DLC that’s coming later in Year 5. Not because of the content … although it’s going to be great. But moreso because of what it means for the game. Making a DLC at the end of Year 5 is a very bold statement of how much we’re investing in this game. That’s what I love about it. We’re allowed to make a DLC and we’re trusted to make a DLC. It shows that everyone is fully committed to The Division 2.

Will you be expanding on the lore and story of the universe in-game going forward?

When it comes to The Division 2, storytelling has been one of the biggest successes in this game. When we introduced seasons as part of the Warlords of New York expansion, it was light on story and more based on gameplay. When we came back with Year 3 content and new seasons, we did so with the intent to have more meaningful stories. We did this because we wanted to give another reason for players to come back other than just wanting more loot. And seeing how many players came back after Year 3 and how they are now more engaged today with the storytelling compared to years ago, that’s one of the successes that’s led to us telling even more stories in the game.

An interview with The Division 2 creative director, Yannick Banchereau

The Division 2 has struggled now and then with the gear system, will you be making any significant changes to gear level and loot economy?

With Seasons 2.0, we plan to add a new item type. In other words, we’ll be reshuffling the gear by creating new items that you’ll be chasing. And these new items will have different offerings compared to the gear that you already have.

Is The Division a series you see having a long tail, and would you like to make more games, updates, DLC for the future?

You’re now seeing that with The Division Heartland and The Division Resurgence. This has now become a franchise and when we’re telling stories, it’s within the overall Division Universe. Having a dedicated Division Day to celebrate these games shows the commitment that we have here at Ubisoft for this franchise.

How does the political landscape shape The Division 2’s narrative, being that it’s generally pretty grounded?

When you look at our story today and what the world looks like in The Division 2, it’s actually a very different world in terms of the political landscape. Because they two different worlds, there is very little parallel between The Division 2 world and in real life. When the Division story began in 2016, it was developed based on fiction. And the work we continue to do for The Division 2 is also a work of fiction. Despite the coincidences between the two worlds, they are just that … coincidence.

Ubisoft has announced that the long-awaited arrival of Ubisoft Plus on Xbox Series S|X and Xbox One is here, with the service launching today, bringing together a lot of the different Ubisoft services, technically via one single subscription, sort of.

First of all, let’s explain: Ubisoft Plus on Xbox means you can get the latest Ubisoft-published titles (including DLC, and classic games) to Xbox platforms, as well as a ten percent discount on anything you spend on in-game currencies. That said, this is not part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in the same way that EA’s plan is. If you do subscribe you’ll need to link your Xbox account to Ubisoft Plus Multi Access, and then you’ll get access to the premium or special editions of games when they come out.

“Partnering with Xbox to launch Ubisoft Plus Multi Access on Xbox consoles enhances our subscription offering to provide more value and choice to our players”, said Chris Early, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development at Ubisoft. “Xbox console players can now have unbridled access to discover our worlds through Ubisoft’s extensive game library”.

“Like us, Ubisoft strives to bring more games to more people, and today we’re accelerating that effort together”, said Sarah Bond, Corporate Vice President of Creator Experience and Ecosystem at Microsoft. “By launching Ubisoft+ on Xbox, we’re presenting Xbox console players another vibrant catalogue to explore by subscription”.

The base price for Ubisoft Plus Multi Access is £12.99 a month, which will get you games like Far Cry 6 or Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and the option to play on PC, Cloud, or console. You can check out the full list of titles, which includes The Division 2, Anno 1800, Riders Republic, and more than 100 titles total on the official site, here.

Audible has announced the release of Far Cry: Rise of the Revolution, an audio-based prequel to Far Cry 6, starring Giancarlo Esposito, among others to tell the story of how the title’s antagonist, Antón Castillo, came to power.

This isn’t the first time that Ubisoft have partnered with Audible, either, as there was also another Audible Original called Assassin’s Creed: Gold, and The Division: Hearts on Fire.

Far Cry: Rise of the Revolution is directed by Adele Cutting (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey), and “charts the origin story of Antón Castillo’s quest for power on the fictional, tropical island of Yara”. Here’s the official word from the press release:

Whether a fan of the franchise, or a newcomer to the world of Far Cry, listeners will dive into a gripping story about politics, power, and revolution, whilst fans of the game will discover new stories about the characters they thought they knew.

With nearly all actors returning from the original Far Cry 6 cast, the audio drama sees Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad) returning to the role of Antón Castillo, Jess Salguerio (Y: The Last Man, Tiny Pretty Things) as Clara Garcia and Anthony Gonzales (Coco, Shameless) as Diego Castillo – son of Anton – to name just a few.

Created by Soundcut Ltd, Far Cry: Rise of the Revolution features recordings of a staggering 127 characters which took place across 18 different studio locations around the world, as well as including the original Far Cry 6 soundtrack by Pedro Bronfman.

To immerse the game’s passionate audience further, Audible is creating a digital first activation in conjunction with Twitch. Brought to life by the Twitch Brand Partnerships Studio, the Twitch community will be challenged to uncover Antón’s audio drama from a digital recreation of Antón’s citadel ‘throne room’. Using a custom made TwitchPlays mechanic, the audience will navigate the escape room inspired experience. Once all of the puzzles are solved, the community will be able to crack open Antón’s safe and reveal his darkest secret.

“We are thrilled to collaborate again with Audible to continue expanding bridges between audio and videogames through this original Far Cry audio series,” said Julien Fabre, director of global TV and transmedia business development, Ubisoft.

Elsewhere, Aurelie De Troyer, Head of Content UK and Canada at Audible, said: “We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Ubisoft and produce yet another Audible Original adaptation, Far Cry – Rise of the Revolution. Far Cry 6 impressed the world with its story-driven gameplay and audio is an amazing medium to expand the universe in a way that is fully immersive”.

Announced on tweeted:

, and has been delayed yet again. This isn’t the first delay the game has had, and in truth most people are losing count of the amount of delays Skull and Bones has had, but it was firmly believed it would make the March 2023 release date, to get the title out before the financial year ends.

But the statement confirms that the team has “made the decision to delay Skull and Bones a little more”. Continuing, Ubisoft said “Our determination and focus remain the same – offer the best in-game experience possible to our players from day 1. This extra time will help us in providing further polish and balancing to our game experience, following your feedback from previous tests”.

Skull and Bones was initially revealed during the Ubisoft E3 Press Conference of 2017, whereby it was planned for PS4 and Xbox One (and PC) with enhancements for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. Now a full new generation of consoles is out, as it’s been nearly six years since the announcement.

The statement delaying the game said “We also have an array of exciting content coming up on our social channels ready to be shared with you starting tomorrow, with our latest episode of The Deck, bringing new and exclusive gameplay footage focused on our game’s lore”.

In closing, the post said “Additional information regarding our new release date and upcoming test phases will be shared with you all very soon, so be sure to stay tuned and follow the conversation. Thank you for your support and stay tuned for more information”.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope | 7 tips to get the most out of your time https://www.godisageek.com/2022/10/mario-rabbids-sparks-of-hope-7-tips-to-get-the-most-out-of-your-time/ Mon, 17 Oct 2022 16:00:55 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=269006 Never lose!

The post Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope | 7 tips to get the most out of your time appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a huge sequel to Kingdom Battle, with lots of mechanics and variety on offer, but with our tips, you will never lose. Thanks to the sheer number of ideas that Ubisoft has crammed into the sequel, it’s very easy to get a bit lost, or forget about things that you are taught in the opening hours when you’re 20 hours deep with the full roster of 9 heroes, and a nearly full set of 30 sparks to choose from.

With a bit of luck, if nothing else, our Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope tips will ensure you don’t forget to do things that would make your life easier, especially when it comes to our number one tip, so let’s get started.

Sparks of Hope tips: Don’t forget your free moves!

One of the very earliest moves you are taught in Sparks of Hope is how to slide into enemies to start a battle. But by hour three you’re likely forgetting to do this over and over, and holding your head in your hands as you realised you could have inflicted more damage with a free move. While attacks, abilities, and spark moves will cost one of your two action points, sliding and team-jumping (and later just using jump pads) cost nothing.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a glorious but challenging prospect

As you progress through the skill trees you can even make it so multiple characters can do extra slides. Edge can do up to 4 slide attacks, and if you use a slide-based Spark move, you can kill some enemies via just sliding alone. Add in the other free moves like team jump and you can gain huge distance, or even use Mario to jump on enemy heads, or Bowser to use his damaging stomp from a team jump. Get into the habit of using these free moves from hour 1, because they can be the difference between success and failure later.

Healing is important, but so is protection: use your team

Rabbid Peach is a hero that, early game, you will rely on heavily. She is the only character that can heal you directly from a move, and later she can even incorporate her healing abilities into her team jump. However, Peach herself is a vital member of the team as well. Her ability to essentially make it so you cannot take damage can be combined with her in-your-face shotgun to make her a serious contender. Don’t get into the habit of only using Rabbid Peach, or any character: variety is the spice of life, so use your team and get to know all their abilities for best case use.

Explore the map and collect as many Sparks as you can

Sparks of Hope Spark skill tree: how do I access it

While each island is individual, the maps hold lots of secrets. The biggest and best thing you can find is a new Spark to add to your adventure. If you check your map you will see multiple icons (this is a Ubisoft game, after all) but you’re looking for the yellow Spark icon which tells you that mission will give you a new Spark when completing it. Make sure you do as many side-quests as possible, because most of the best Sparks are hidden behind those missions. If you want a wide variety of attacks to combat any scenario, make sure you don’t rush through the story: play the side content.

Sparks of Hope tips: Seek out the Revive Spark

Did you know that if you have a character downed in a battle, you can revive them? No? Neither did we, because the game never makes this an obvious thing. However, late in the game there is a Spark that is optional to collect, and its entire skill is to add a revive ability to whoever wields it. This Spark doesn’t come into play until very late in the game, but even if you’re tired and want to get the game done, search out all those Sparks for hidden options like revive.

Rabbid Peach isn’t the only hero who can heal

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a glorious but challenging prospect

In the second island (the snow/ice one) there is a side quest involving a boat on a pond, with a Spark who wants you to find her three penguins. This quest is optional, but it shouldn’t be. This is the first Spark we found that can add healing capabilities to any character that isn’t Rabbid Peach. Make sure you do this quest so you can have more healing options than just her, and note that there are multiple Sparks that can heal, you just need to search them out.

There are MetroidVania elements, so go back to earlier islands

As you progress through Sparks of Hope, you’ll discover that Beep-O, the avatar you control, gains abilities that let you progress. What you might not realise is that Mario + Rabbids is now a bit of a MetroidVania, and the skills you unlock (the ability to make hidden items and paths show up, or to move magical items) were relevant for earlier levels, you just didn’t know it. Even as far back as the first island, to get 100% completion you’ll need to use the abilities you unlock later on. So remember to revisit the early islands and get all the goodies you may have missed.

Sparks of Hope tips: Coins respawn

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

You will have spotted coins all over the islands in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and hopefully you’re grabbing any cash that isn’t nailed down. However, did you know that everything respawns so you can double, triple, or quadruple up? Even the secret coins that are hidden behind buildings will respawn if you go into a door/building/area that requires the game to load. When you then exit, the coins you got will be back. Grab the gold, and buy loads of items.

Littered throughout Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope there are riddles that can be fiendish or simply just annoying. As a reward for completing each Sparks of Hope riddle you’ll unlock planet coins and usually a chest, which might contain coins or items that are invaluable to your cause. It could be a mushroom that’ll save you money, or maybe even an item that lets you level up a Spark instantly. Like we say: invaluable.

However, some the Sparks of Hope riddle on the second island (Pristine Peaks) is a bit of a pain, because it’s quite hard to see what the icons are, and the solution itself is a bit wordy and confusing.

Sparks of Hope Riddle of Pristine Peaks solution

While the Rabbid friend to the right of the mission will give you guidance, and even Jeanne and Beep-O might help, the solution to the Sparks of Hope Riddle of Pristine Peaks is about the story of the Rabbids who inhabit the ice planet. On the three statues you need to rotate the icon to line it up according to the story that is behind the island of Pristine Peaks.

Sparks of Hope Riddle of Pristine Peaks solution

The left most icon must be the sun, as the Rabbids arrived and found it all a bit too hot. The middle icon must be an angry looking mountain, or face, that is supposed to suggest a cold wind blowing to cool it down. On the right there’s another mountain-like image you’ll need to line up, which is supposed to represent Cursa. It’s a bit hard to tell, in truth, due to the images being blurry, so we’d suggest using the image above as a reference point.

Put simply, match the image in your game to ours above, and you’ll unlock a planet coin (and marks towards your overall game percentage), and a chest that will spawn to the left of the first statue, which you can also see in our image above.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a complex game full of mechanics and ideas, but the Sparks of Hope Spark Skill Tree is locked for quite some time. In fact, it could be well into the 10-15 hour mark before you can even unlock it, and many more hours before you unlock it for each of the 9 playable heroes.

First, however, we might need to explain exactly what’s going on here, and how you even unlock the Sparks of Hope Skill Tree, because it’s never clearly explained, and you might only discover it by happening upon it with some luck.

Sparks of Hope Spark skill tree: how do I access it?

In the first area of the game (Beacon Beach) you’ll eventually end up inside a temple. If you explore that temple thoroughly, you’ll come across a golden pipe that tells you you need more sparks to unlock than you have. There’s a reason for this, and it’s because through the pipe you will encounter a huge goomba enemy and have to defeat it in order to get a “Gold Prism”.

Sparks of Hope Spark skill tree: how do I access it

Gold Prisms are single use and not-refundable like the normal skill tree prisms, so once you’ve used one, it’s gone. That’s why this list shows you ALL of the unlocks for each character, because they each have individual “Spark” skill trees, just like the rest of their skill trees. Continue with your adventure for now, and by the mid-point (or near the end) of the second planet you’ll easily have the required number of sparks to access the boss fight and get your first gold prism. After you’ve unlocked a tree, the skills can be unlocked as usual, using the normal skill tree prisms.

How do I defeat the giant goomba?

Once you can return to the gold pipe and access the giant goomba fight, it’s a simple case of needing to beat it. We were level 20 when we accessed the fight. That was around the time we finished the third island, and came back to do this fight. Like other bosses, the giant goomba cannot be dashed, and is immume to all status effects.

A combination of Rabbid Peach (with Ethering Spark, which can let her hide from the enemies), and Luigi or Mario’s hero sight meant we could dish the pain out regularly. Take out the first wave of enemies before attacking the giant goomba, then retreat and attack from afar with the likes of Luigi, Bowser, and Rabbid Peach, while healing and buffing to the best of your abilities. It’s a tough fight, but the goomba only has one main attack that does high damage – just make sure you use team jump to keep your distance from the boss. Once finished, grab your gold prism.

Spark skill tree: what does the tree contain?

Spark skill tree: Mario

The spark skill tree is as follows, with descriptions and how many prisms it costs to unlock. It’s the same for every character, so you’ll want to pick the characters in order that you most use them.

 • Spark Gift: At the first turn, a Spark has a 25% chance to gift a random item (2 prisms)
 • Spark Refresher: After activation, each spark has 35% chance to avoid the cooldown (3 prisms)
 • Spark Guard: A Spark has a 30% chance to save a Hero from a deathblow (3 prisms)
 • Spark Energy: When used, each Spark has a 25% chance of granting a new Action Point (4 prisms)

The post Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a bigger and stronger sequel | Hands-on preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

I’ve been keeping an eye on Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope for some time now. Neither Nintendo nor Ubisoft has been shy about showing it off, yet despite having played the original title, I was still curious as to why it seemed so different to my eye. Having now played 3-4 hours of it, I finally feel I have a good handle on what Sparks of Hope does differently, and it seems a bigger and better adventure in so many ways.

Where Kingdom Battle felt like a great, unique idea, that was ultimately a Mario-take on the XCOM/tactics genre, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope feels more like the culmination of all the ideas that might have been left on the table for a first game. New characters? Check. Skill trees return, but now there’s levelling up, companion characters that can change your entire loadout, and a lot more to keep track of. Mini-open areas to explore and take on side quests, red coin challenges, and a whole lot more? You’re probably getting the picture by now, but this is a far larger, deeper experience than the original title, and even sitting down for four hours with it, I just wanted more.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Part of that is because Sparks of Hope hasn’t forgotten how difficult Kingdom Battle could be, nor how sometimes it could suddenly spike and hand you a brown paper bag with your ass in it. I played two sections of the game, including starting from the beginning, and the difficulty felt just right there. A natural progression that introduces the story, the characters, even how to move around the world, before throwing in the titular “Sparks” which might just be the most interesting thing in this new game.

Each “Spark” is basically a Rabbid version of a Luma from Super Mario Galaxy. In fact, less than an hour into Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope I was left very intrigued by how much of that seminal title was going to be in here. There’s a lot to take in, but to level up the “Sparks” (which, again, are Rabbid Lumas) you even feed them Star Bits you find around the environments and from defeating enemies or smashing cover up in battle.

As well as being a Luma, each Spark is elemental. A fire-based Spark that looks like a hungry Luma will be frightened and run away from you into trouble, resulting in a boss fight. Succeed in that battle and the Spark will join you. At first each member of your party can only equip one Spark, but by the second island you’re able to equip two per party-member. As you can probably guess, if you have a lighting based Spark, it will add either a lightning based attack, or some form of buff to you, or your attack itself. Likewise for fire Sparks, Ice, etc; you get the picture. There are even Sparks that offer protective qualities, and this is all on top of the skills each party member already has, which themselves are upgradable with a special currency you get when you level up.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a glorious but challenging prospect

Each character in the party is also an RPG-archetype. Rabbid Mario is a brawler, while Rabbid Peach is a healer. Luigi is a sniper, Mario is the all-rounder. Each of their skills are relevant to their class, and each can be upgraded from the skill trees. Party loadout and composition matters, and I mean really matters. I can’t really imagine going into a battle without Rabbid Peach’s healing ability, unless it’s a combat section I’d chosen to initiate, and knew I was over-levelled, simply wanting to try out some new ideas. Enemies are scannable thanks to Beep-O returning, and have weaknesses and strengths.

And therein lies the difficulty. At first you’ll be using the non-skill-point abilities like slide to take enemies like Goombas out 3-at-a-time, then team-jumping to gain even more distance on your turn, dominating by getting in their faces with strength-based party members. But by the second island, you’ll be seeing portals that spawn enemies, adding to your troubles, and facing bosses who teleport each turn, and have multiple phases.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a glorious but challenging prospect

I’m willing to put my experience down to the fact it wasn’t my save, and I hadn’t experienced the progression in a linear fashion. I like to play games in my way, which is to say that I do every side-quests I can on the way through the story, levelling up, etc. I’d also say that due to the complexity involved in the loadouts on offer, I would understand the systems better had I played through myself, so to speak. But that said, the three-phase boss fight did me in. With constantly spawning enemies, a boss who can warp, and a cut-scene after each phase with her coming back with the same arena (albeit shifted around a bit), it did feel a little too much.

Before every other fight you can heal up by spending coins, here, you get your fainted members back, but on 1HP, which means before you even think about getting involved in the phase, you need to heal up. There was no way to replenish items, and it essentially felt like the same fight three times in a row. Like I say, I’m willing to predict this’ll be less of an issue playing linearly through myself, but until that battle, the entire game had been a hoot, but this particular boss battle just wasn’t fun.

There’s also no way around it: you’ll need to retrain your brain if you played Kingdom Battle. The freeform movement on offer means that enemies too can travel great distances, and with them happily hiding around corners, you’ll need to be constantly on your guard. Sparks of Hope is an experience you need to take your time with: spec out the area, be sure you aren’t going to get ganked by three enemies on one turn, because even on regular difficulty (you can change it mid-game) this one isn’t messing about.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a glorious but challenging prospect

That said, the exploration outside of fights is interesting and engaging. You can stealth past enemies, collect items, and solve puzzles. There’s some wonderful, colourful characters present in Sparks of Hope that I can’t wait to get to know better. And you know what, despite my age, I smirked a lot and even stifled a chuckle in a room full of media and developers. The world needs silly, perhaps now more than ever.

It feels like I’ve barely scratched the surface of what Sparks of Hope has to offer. A deep, enriching experience, that offers a challenge, and some laughs, it feels far bigger and better than the first effort. Dense mechanically, intriguing from a narrative perspective, and something that I’ll want to master, I can’t wait to play more. And I got through it without even mentioning the fact there appears to be some MetroidVania aspects present, via powers that let you unblock paths that I reckon you can return to older levels and explore. Whoops.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 20th, 2022.

Every year we get a new game in the series, but the Just Dance 2023 song list is already shaping up to be incredible, with songs from massive artists already announced.

Along with the fantastic announcement that there will be online multiplayer for the first time in the series, so the song list won’t be the only major attraction, as there’s a new art direction, and a new user interface that looks a lot like it’ll be very accessible across multiple platforms. There’s also a recommendation system that offers players personalised playlists and curated songs right at their fingertips.

But you’re here for the Just Dance 2023 song list, so let’s get into that, shall we?

Just Dance 2023 song list | every song in the game

 • “Physical” by Dua Lipa
 • “More” by K/DA Ft. Madison Beer, (G)I-DLE, Lexie Liu, Jaira Burns & Seraphine
 • “CAN’T STOP THE FEELING!” by Justin Timberlake
 • “Love Me Land” by Zara Larsson

 • “STAY” by The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber
 • “Sweet But Psycho” by Ava Max
 • “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit Ft. Jess Glynne
 • “If You Wanna Party” by The Just Dancers

There are many more songs to be announced, as Just Dance 2023 Edition will include 40 new songs and universes. Ubisoft says it’ll include songs “from chart-topping hits, viral internet phenomena, and original songs”.

Additionally, the Just Dance Controller App turns your smartphone into a controller with its phone-scoring technology, which allows up to six players to dance without any additional accessories, available for free on iOS and Android.

While you’re waiting for more songs to be announced, make sure to check out our Just Dance 2022 review, which Mick gave a 7.5/10 score to, saying “Just Dance 2022 may be familiar, and it may bring little that’s new to the table, but it’s still a hell of a lot of fun”.

We’ll update this page when new songs are announced.

As a series running since 2009, how does Ubisoft keep it fresh with Just Dance 2023. The series has already transitioned through the likes of motion controls, to even allowing you to pop a phone in your pocket and have it track your movement in the game. Soundtrack is obviously a key part, and we’ll come to that, but to get people playing your yearly title, you need innovation. Enter: online multiplayer.

Just Dance 2023 Edition | Now with online multiplayer

As always, Just Dance 2023 looks glorious, brimming with colour and passion and a new art style, and the series is leaning harder into the “games as a service” idea than ever before. Bangers like Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t stop the Feeling” are there to make you feel good when strutting your stuff. There are stories to follow this time around, new game modes, seasons, and Ubisoft says “there’s always something new to be doing”.

The new “home page” of Just Dance 2023 looks almost mobile-like in terms of accessibility, and you can use cameras to dance together with friends, and compete to get the best scores with a new score results screen. The focus seems to be heavily on community, to go along with the brand new multiplayer aspects, and is pretty exciting for people who love the series.

Songs revealed so far are:

 • Justin Timberlake – Can’t Stop the Feeling
 • The Just Dance – If You Wanna Party
 • Clean Bandit ft. Jess Glynne – Rather Be
 • Ava Max – Sweet but Psycho
 • Bruno Mars – Locked Out Of Heaven
 • Zara Larsson – Love Me Land
 • The Kid LAROI, Justin Bieber – Stay
 • Dua Lipa – Physical

Just Dance 2023 will be out for all formats this year, with a Stadia release to follow.

Microsoft has announced the lineup of the “coming soon” game pass titles for August, and it’s headlined by Immortals Fenyx Rising and Immortality, among others.

Immortals Fenyx Rising actually made it into our top ten games of 2020, which you can watch in this podcast, right here.

Immortality is the next game from Sam Barlow, the creator of Her Story and Telling Lies, so getting it as part of the Game Pass sub is a huge boon.

There are other new titles hitting the service, however, such as Tinykin, which Lyle previewed and absolutely adored. Elsewhere Midnight Fight Express looks cool, and Commandos 3: HD Remaster is another brand new (remaster, anyway) to the service.

Rounding out the titles coming soon are EXA Punks, Coffee Talk, and OPUS Echo of Starsong: Full Bloom Edition.

All of these titles are hitting in August, along with some DLC and game updates in the form of Naraka: Bladepoint – Showdown, which is a whole new cooperative campaign mode coming to Naraka: Bladepoint on August 5, available to players as a free update on Xbox Series X|S and via Xbox Game Pass. Players will team up, fight against ferocious enemies, and upgrade heroes to face challenges of varying difficulties.

Sea of Thieves: A Hunter’s Cry is coming on August 18th, and is the sixth time-limited Adventure running from August 18 to September 1.

Lastly you can get an MVP pack for MultiVersus on August 23rd, the Babylon Bundle for CrossfireX, on the same date, and the Pass Tense Commando Rifle Bundle for Halo Infinite on August 17th.

Ubisoft+ Classics coming to PlayStation Plus with 27 games https://www.godisageek.com/2022/05/ubisoft-classics-coming-to-playstation-plus-with-27-games/ Tue, 17 May 2022 08:21:27 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=263208 Some classics and some newer titles.

The post Ubisoft+ Classics coming to PlayStation Plus with 27 games appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

After announcing a while ago that Ubisoft+ was coming to Xbox, it seems that the service is now also going to be available on PlayStation, or more specifically a new version called “Classics” as part of the two higher tiers for the revamped PlayStation Plus service.

What’s interesting is that although Ubisoft has confirmed the May 24th release date for the service on PlayStation Plus, we still don’t have a date for Xbox, although the service is also available on PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna. Ubisoft says the its “Plus” subscription is there “offering players day-one releases, classic games, and premium editions, and ultimately will be available on PlayStation and Xbox”.

Before we list the games that will be available day one on PlayStation, here’s the official word on which tiers you’ll need to be subscribed to, in order to make the most of it.

Ubisoft+ Classics will launch bundled with the PlayStation Plus Extra or PlayStation Plus Premium subscription tiers on May 24 in Asia (June 2 in Japan), June 13 in North and South America, and June 23 in Europe.

So that’s the the two highest tiers, just to be clear. Here’s the list of games coming to Ubisoft+ Classics on day one on PlayStation, then:

 • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
 • For Honor
 • The Crew 2
 • Child of Light
 • Eagle Flight
 • Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
 • Far Cry 3 Remaster
 • Far Cry 4
 • Legendary Fishing
 • Risk: Urban Assault
 • South Park: The Fractured but Whole
 • South Park: The Stick of Truth
 • Space Junkies
 • Star Trek: Bridge Crew
 • Starlink: Battle for Atlas
 • STEEP
 • The Crew
 • The Division
 • Trackmania Turbo
 • Transference
 • Trials Fusion
 • Trials of the Blood Dragon Game
 • Trials Rising
 • Valiant Hearts: The Great War
 • Watch Dogs
 • Werewolves Within
 • ZOMBI

To be clear, this is the “Ubisoft+ Classics” scheme, and doesn’t mean that the actual “Ubisoft+” service will be part of PS Plus. The main service is a premium subscription with a monthly cost that gets you Ubisoft’s games on release date, though it sounds like this will also be available on PlayStation consoles as well in the future, presumably when the Xbox version is ready to launch as well.

The post Rainbow Six Extraction: Nightmare Fog Crisis Event is another reason to revisit a great game appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

The latest Rainbow Six Extraction content has been revealed and we’ve played it. Like last time, it promises to offer a three-week long diversion from the main game with rewards and altered experiences. Nightmare Fog starts on May 12th and runs through until June 2nd, and offers a twist on many of the previous operations within Extraction that can play out to mind-boggling effect.

Let’s start with the titular fog, then. This nightmare fog comes with a new resource you have to manage, whichever operator you’re playing as. The Neurotoxin level is a circular meter that fills the longer you stay inside the fog. At 30% it will create visual and audio hallucinations that will make you see enemies that aren’t real.

This is a problem, because if your team-mates are below 30% they aren’t going to understand why you’re shooting at a random wall. They can’t see the Archaean you can see. This adds yet more reason to play with a squad you know, and communicate. This really is one of the core facets of Rainbow Six Extraction, and it remains such. These hallucinations can form enemies that just stand there, some that rush towards you and perform an attack but disappear immediately after (not harming you, obviously, because they aren’t real), static enemies that vanish when you turn to see them, or even just Archaeans that appear and vanish to disturb and distract you.

Rainbow Six Extraction: Nightmare Fog Crisis Event

Above 65% you will start to get even further altered vision. You might get strong motion blur, distorted viewpoints, or even tunnel vision. At a full 100% of your Neurotoxin level you will take constant damage until your health hits 1%. That’s 3HP draining every five seconds. Even if you heal, it goes back to diminishing slowly again afterwards. Oh and if that weren’t bad enough, the symptoms from the Neurotoxin level stack, so you might get them all at once. Ouch.

Thankfully, there is also a new item that lets you remove some of the Neurotoxin damage in Rainbow Six Extraction. These supply cases are in safe areas outside of the fog, and there’s always a guaranteed one in every airlock. Though it’s worth remembering (especially if you’re me and fall afoul of this) that you are never safe, and enemies can attack you even in “safe areas” outside of the fog. This entire mechanic will require you to talk to your friends and ensure the person who needs the supply case, gets it. One tip to note is that once any team-member finds a safe room, the rest of the squad will get an icon that appears indicating its location.

With that all understood, the mission structure follows the same principles as the main game. Three sub-maps with 15 minutes per area. You can play in any region. To help you just a little bit Ubisoft says there’s no blinding spores and no mutations, and the enemy pool is limited to grunts, breachers, rooters, and smashers. While part of this update brings a Proteon Vigil to the Archaean roster, he’s only going to be part of the main missions and only if you select the Gateway objective as usual.

Rainbow Six Extraction: Nightmare Fog Crisis Event is another reason to revisit a great game

Back to the Nightmare Fog event, then. The first area of each mission will have one of the easier objectives to complete: specimen; nest tracking; triangulation; hunt; shutdown. Like the first crisis event, the first stage isn’t too bad. Things ramp up for the second map, because it revolves around the Decontamination objective.

So yes, people who struggle (myself included) with the aberrant nests mission will struggle here. It’s very much the same, only now they are purple instead of green. As usual they will spawn enemies if you don’t kill them quickly enough, and when it’s all finished you need to grab a sample to complete the objective.

Just like in the main game you can fail this objective and still move on. However, the final map is a variation on the “tree” missions you’d see when recovering a lost operator. Here you have to kill a toxic tree that’s spreading the mist. Shoot the branches that heal the tree, fight off the onrushing Archaean threat, and then take a sample (perform a takedown) to kill the tree and remove the fog. However, if you do complete the second map objective the tree will start at half health, so it’s worth doing.

Rainbow Six Extraction: Nightmare Fog

So if this sounds hard and you’re wondering “why should I bother?”, well, it’s because of the rewards. Obviously you’ll get more XP than playing the main game, that was revealed to be the case in the first Crisis Event. But the biggest draw, again, is the new REACT Tech item you get. If you manage to take down a certain number of nests you’ll get the Rush Pistol, which is a Stim-based weapon/piece of tech that gives you invulnerability and a speed boost for fifteen seconds. Can you imagine using that when defending a point in the other missions?

As well as all of this, there’s a new “Prestige” option coming with the update. This gives ten extra levels for every operator in the game to earn which are displayed in the UI. I’m not overly sold on this idea as it doesn’t give you any new workable gear. We’re talking icons, uniforms, and cosmetics here, and it’s entirely separate from the main milestone progression. It’s a nice idea to get people playing more after each operator hits level ten, but I can’t see myself bothering without new unlocks that don’t actually improve or affect the operators themselves.

As before, this new Nightmare Fog Crisis Event is only playable with three players, though there are no requirements for the operators you may use. As long as you have three operators fit and healthy, you can start it with friends. I’m pleased to see Ubisoft supporting Rainbow Six Extraction like this, because I really rate it as a co-op experience. After playing it pre-release, I’m looking forward to playing with my regular group again, and spending some time with one of the best multiplayer games of 2022 so far.

Rainbow Six Extraction is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X. It’s also part of Game Pass.

The post Rainbow Six Extraction’s Crisis Spillover mode adds fun, tense horde gameplay | Hands-on preview appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

I’ve made no secret that I’m a fan of Rainbow Six Extraction, and so I jumped at the chance to play the new time-limed Crisis Event mode, Spillover. What I didn’t expect, is that somehow they made my least favourite game-type within Extraction into something I can’t wait to play more of.

What you’ve got here, is essentially a new mode that’s span out of a combination of some of the existing objectives. But on top of that, a new operator in the form of Ela’s sister, Zofia. Spillover is very much designed around defence, and mixes up the objectives that ask you to do the defending for a set time, getting increasingly more tricky as you play.

Rainbow Six Extraction: Crisis Spillover

Zofia has an LMG, and whatever other gear you’ve unlocked she can use, just like any other operator. Her specialty is the KS80 Lifeline, a launcher that can fire stun and impact grenades. She is resilient to all blind effects and can revive herself. There’s also a new piece of tech you can only unlock by playing the Crisis modes, and it’s an auto-turret. This auto-turret not only damages Achaeans, but also makes them stumble, giving you a chance. It’s a separate piece of tech, and in the REACT Tech menu there’s a new sub-menu for “Crisis” tech, so you can work out what route Ubisoft is planning to go with the game, there.

Rainbow Six Extraction: Crisis Spillover

In Spillover, you’re dropped into a hot zone where the microbial colonies appearing all over the Sprawl are the source of an unprecedented Parasite Mutation. What this means in English is you and two friends (this mode requires three players) go into an incursion and have to plant Dissolution Agent Cannisters, which is a corrosive chemical weapon that will destroy the colonies. This means the enemies will (mostly) ignore you, and try and destroy the canisters first.

XP, extraction, and loss

Each operator can carry a canister, and if you want, you can deploy three in three different colonies, making the difficulty much harder. My team of three did manage two at once, but it was hard even on the first stage of the Spillover event. To get 3000 XP you have to destroy two of these colonies to move onto phase two, which if you can destroy another three nets you 5000XP, with 7000XP available for the third round, which requires you to get rid of a further four colonies. You still get the 90% bonus if you extract, so it’s better to get out safely and not lose an operator, than to lose one and have to play the other modes to rescue them.

XP, extraction, and loss

You get 25 minutes to do all of this, of course. While that sounds harsh, there’s less (read: no) stealth involved here. No Archaeans will come for you en-masse until you’ve planted the chemical charges. Then, mind you, it’s like a police siren is going off above your head. There are different types of colonies, as well. Some of them will throw elites at you; others cloaked enemies, or perhaps you prefer to start with spore-covered aliens? It’s a good idea in Rainbow Six Extraction‘s crisis Spillover mode, to remove the Elite threat first. The difficulty level shoots up as you play further, just like in the main game. Therefore, yes, get rid of whatever you struggle with first.

Teaching you how to defend

Due to the rising difficulty, and the fact it’s essentially a tower defense idea mixed with horde, there are some operators who work better than others. Newly added Zofia is excellent and feels designed for this mode. Tachanka feels utterly essential with his turret. With health, REACT tech, ability, and ammo available at the entrance to the level, you can really punish the enemy with a well-placed turret. Then, you can do it again for round two.

Teaching you how to defend

More than anything, Spillover taught me how to play the defensive objectives better than I was beforehand. Myself and the team here have struggled with the defensive objectives for Rainbow Six Extraction’s main game modes. Now, I think I’m ready to head back and kick some ass. It’s almost a shame this mode is timed because it’s a different level of tension. It’s a hugely stressful time going from slowly sneaking through a level, tagging enemies and stealthily taking them out, to a full-on automatic-weapon-fest, shooting anything that moves.

Rainbow Six Extraction crisis spillover: Changing it up

One thing that’s slightly odd is how much of Extraction has changed for this mode. For starters, the entire floor — everywhere — is covered in Sprawl. This is the sticky stuff that enemies secrete and it slows you down. When you first see it, it looks like a nightmare. “How are we going to get around with all of that?” you might think. But it doesn’t slow you down in this mode. It’s a good thing, but it’s odd. Likewise, if the Archaeans get your canister and it explodes, you can just pop another one in and the countdown timer won’t reset: it’ll continue.

Changing it up

These things feel like concessions to make it enjoyable, otherwise, it could be just simply too hard. With such an emphasis on going loud, you’ll need to rejig your loadouts, too. There’s no need for a silencer here, that’s for sure. It’s a great way to get around 20k XP per run, and it’ll help you push down the otherwise, fairly grindy, progression systems in Rainbow Six Extraction.

That said, it’s hugely enjoyable, and a diversion from the rest of the modes. With a new operator and piece of tech, it’d be silly to not have a play of Spillover mode. It’s not going to make you suddenly pick up the game, but if you already have it through Game Pass, and put it down, it might be time to find your squad and get back into the fight.

Rainbow Six Extraction Crisis Spillover is due as a free update on all formats, right now.

Rainbow Six Extraction Defused Guide | Studies in Defusal https://www.godisageek.com/2022/01/rainbow-six-extraction-defused-guide-studies-in-defusal/ Wed, 19 Jan 2022 11:00:51 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=259407 Studies in frustration: removed!

The post Rainbow Six Extraction Defused Guide | Studies in Defusal appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

In the latest tactical co-op game from Ubisoft, there are Studies to complete and one of the toughest is the Rainbow Six Extraction Defused study. The reason this particular task (and the whole set) is awkward and hard, is because it involves the biggest nuisances in the game: bloaters and breachers.

Two out of the three studies are pretty easy, and you won’t need our help with them, but Rainbow Six Extraction Defused is a really awkward one to complete.

Rainbow Six Extraction Defused: what is it?

Defused is simple when you just read it out: take down 3 breachers or bloaters. Breachers are the crawling enemy with big red sacks that explode. Bloaters are the green-sacked enemies who spew acid upon explosion. You may well have killed tens of them, yet this study won’t seem to unlock.

Rainbow Six Extraction Defused: what is it?

The key word in this study is “take down“, not just “kill”. Yes. That means you have to silently melee kill, or “take down”, three breachers or bloaters.

How do I take down breachers or bloaters?!

First of all, whether you’re playing solo or in a full group, make sure someone has a drone on them. Second, we’d heartily recommend playing on “cautious” difficulty level at least, because otherwise you’ll be going 2-3 objectives deep before enough enemies are spawning for you to do it in one run.

How do I take down breachers or bloaters?!

Go to San Francisco (if you’ve unlocked it) and drone the area until you find bloaters or breachers. The fewer the better, because you don’t want to get involved with a large pack of them. When you’ve watched them move, tag the one you’re going to take down first, and slowly sneak up to it.

Vigil, who can cloak himself makes for a very useful operator in this task. Smoke grenades are also useful, because if you do set a few enemies off, you can still take them down when they are blinded and confused by the smoke. If possible, take the enemies down from the back. This avoids an accidental swipe at them instead of a take down.

What not do to do

But beware, once you use a “take down”, even as Vigil, you’ll become uncloaked and visible to every other enemy. In the screenshot above, there are far too many enemies to easily complete this study. Move away, come back, and try again.

There you go, that’s a massive 10,000XP towards your progression. Perhaps more importantly, however, that’s an early blocker removed from your San Francisco studies, allowing you to play more and push into new studies.

The post Rainbow Six Extraction Biopsy Guide appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

The Biopsy objective is one of the most stealth based objectives in Rainbow Six Extraction. Whether you’re alone or in a full team of three, Biopsy is relatively easy, and is more about the planning phase and route to the targets depending on whether you get it as your first, second, or third objective.

Rainbow Six Extraction Biopsy: what is it, how do I do it?

The idea with this objective is that you’ll need to collect three tissue samples from the Archaean aliens by completing a Biopsy. Rather than a medical procedure, this just requires you to be stealthy and use your melee from behind to extract the said tissue samples.

That’s really all there is to the Biopsy. You need to scope out the area with a drone, or operator ping ability. Then sneak to the target, eliminating anything in your way quietly, then get behind the target and melee them.

Best operators for the job?

Vigil is without doubt the best operator for the Rainbow Six Extraction biopsy objective. Even if he’s at level one, his special ability allows him to cloak and become undetected by the enemy. This is especially useful if the targets have stopped moving and are backed into a corner. While you can drop a smoke grenade if you alert the targets, after a few hours people will likely stop carrying these grenades in favour of better, more multi-use tools. With Vigil’s cloak, no matter what they do, you can extract the tissue from behind, undetected.

Best operators for the job?

Alibi is a great backup operator to have in the squad for this mission. This is simply because her ability allows her to lure enemies away with a decoy. Likewise, Pulse or Lion are also good choices, thanks to their abilities to ping out and find the objectives quickly. You can also never go wrong with a Doc or Finka. Either of these operators have the ability to heal and/or buff you, whatever objective you’re playing.

If you’re stuck and getting slow XP for your progression, maybe you’re missing a study? Defused is one of the biggest progress blocks on the San Francisco map, here’s how to unlock it!

The post Rainbow Six Extraction Sabotage Guide appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

The Sabotage objective is a particularly tough one in Rainbow Six Extraction, especially if you’re playing at higher difficulty levels. Unlike many objectives that require stealth or speed, Sabotage is combat-heavy and requires, above all, preparation and resolve.

If it comes up as the third mission in an Incursion, you’re going to have a particularly trying time with it. Bloaters and Breachers will destroy defences and walls very quickly, and you’ll need to be calling out enemies as you see them because they can come at you from every angle – even above.

Rainbow Six Extraction Guide

Rainbow Six Extraction Sabotage: what is it, how do I do it?

Like most objectives, Sabotage sounds fairly simple. You need to locate several Arch Spines within an area, plant explosive charges on them, and then defend the charges for 90 seconds from waves of Archaeans. The biggest issue with this objective is that your Operators are squishy, and so are the charges. If one of you goes down and one of the charges is left undefended, it can all be over quickly.

You’ll need to dig in, close as many doors as you can, and barricade entry points. These include breached walls and windows – and watch for skylights. You can’t seal them, and they’re perfect entry points for the enemy.

Rainbow Six Extraction Guide

Best Operators for the job?

Alibi is great for this. Her decoys draw the Archies away from the charges, and can buy you precious time. Tachanka‘s mounted LMG is also super useful for mowing down charging hordes. Ela is also very useful, as her GRZMOT stun grenades will disorient the enemy long enough to reposition or take them out.

Operators like Doc are less useful here as you’ll rarely have time to heal your teammates, but Finka is always a good shout for her Adrenaline Rush ability that can instantly heal and revive downed teammates.

If you’re stuck and getting slow XP for your progression, maybe you’re missing a study? Defused is one of the biggest progress blocks on the San Francisco map, here’s how to unlock it!

The post How to unlock all the operators in Rainbow Six Extraction appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Rainbow Six Extraction has 18 operators to choose from, each with their own unique pros and cons. Even individual objectives within each match can be completed easier with the right operators. Doc can heal, but are you taking on a mission that is mostly stealth and shouldn’t result in any damage being taken? Do you need stealth? If so, Vigil is your man. Going loud? Ela’s proximity mines will make short work of the alien threat.

But of the 18, only 9 are available at the start of the game. The other 9 will need unlocking as you play, and you can bet more will be coming as DLC, as well.

Rainbow Six Extraction operators: starters and abilities

 • Doc is the healer, and has good armor with slow speed. Essential for early missions.
 • Ela’s ability is throwable proximity mines that can stun enemies.
 • Pulse can detect VIPs, MIAs, and enemy Nests through obstacles.
 • Finka can termporarily boost the team’s survival. Also, her ability revives downed teammates.
 • Hibana shoots remotely detonatable sticky explosive that deal armor penetrating damage.
 • Vigil can go invisible with his ability and this ability recharges after use.
 • Lion’s ability detects all moving enemies in an area for a medium duration.
 • Alibi can deploy a decoy to lure and distract enemies.
 • Sledge has a massive hammer he can use to smash through walls or stun enemies.

How to unlock Rook, IQ and JÄGER

You’ll need to hit Tier 5 to unlock “The Backbone” set of operators, which is Rook and Jager. You’ll need to complete objectives, extract safely, and bank as much XP as possible. Rook is a vital character to unlock as he can drop armor plates as his ability. Not only does this help with damage reistance, but it means enemies fall “down but not out” instead of “knocked out”, and can be revived. Jager can deploy a turret that attacks enemies and intercepts projectiles. IQ can detect equipment through obstacles, making her particularly useful on the higher difficulties.

How to unlock Fuze, Smoke, and Tachanka

Level 10 of the REACT Tier is required to unlock “The Strong Arm”, which is the three characters named above. 55,000XP is required total to unlock all three. Fuze can stick charges to walls and barricades which release cluster grenades on the other side. Smoke, as you’d expect, can throw smoke gas grenades which are remotely detonated and can damage any enemy caught in the gas. Tachanka is a beast, deploying a mounted LMG that anyone can use. Woof.

How to unlock Capitão , Gridlock, and Nomad

It’ll take you quite some time to unlock the final three Rainbow Six Extraction operators. You’ll need to hit Milestone level 17 and that is a lot of XP. Capitão can silently shoot bolts which detonate on impact which can either be venom bolts or smoke screen bolts. Gridlock throws traps which cause damage and slow the enemy for a limited time. Lastly, Nomad shoots proximity mines that knock back enemies caught in the blast and also clears hazards from the area.

If you’re stuck and getting slow XP increases, make sure you are unlocking “studies” as you play. These mini objectives can be the biggest blockers to your progress. As you unlock more, they give massive XP rewards, like the “Defused” one. That one is a pain, so we’ve made a guide showing you how to complete it.

Rainbow Six Extraction is pretty generous with its trophies. You’ll be pinging achievements left, right and centre as you play through Incursions. But a few of them are tricky if only because they rely on you either knowing what they are, or dumb luck.

Two prime examples are the Girls’ Night and Out with the Boys trophies. These will only pop if you complete all three objectives in an Incursion with a team of all female or all male Operators, respectively. Team composition is a big part of Rainbow Six Extraction, and while gender makes no difference to how each Operator plays, the skills you want to take in will have an influence on your party.

Rainbow Six Extraction | Girls' Night / Out with the Boys trophy guide

But there is a pretty simple way of getting both achievements: play an Incursion solo. If you load up Monolith Gardens on Moderate, chances are you’ll roll three fairly straightforward mission objectives. In solo Incursions, you’ll face reduced enemy numbers (especially at Moderate difficulty in New York) and only need worry about one target or objective per sub-zone.

Who are the best Operators for the job?

If you’re playing solo, make sure you either take a drone or an Operator with a Recon tool, such as Pulse or Lion (for Out with the Boys). You’ll need silenced weapons, and your choice of explosive – we’d recommend simply taking smoke grenades for quick escapes and easy stealth takedowns.

Rainbow Six Extraction | Girls' Night / Out with the Boys trophy guide

Vigil is great for his cloaking ability, while Doc and Finka remain obvious choices because they can heal themselves. If you happen to roll a Sabotage, we’d suggest Alibi for the Girls’ Night run, as her decoys are great for keeping Archies busy.

Be aware you must complete all three objectives in a single Incursion to pop either trophy, but follow our guide and you’ll have them both in no time.

We’ve got over 15 minutes of Rainbow Six Extraction gameplay here for you to enjoy, along with a chat about our thoughts on the game so far.

Adam got to play 3-4 hours of the title in December, and has had plenty of time to think about it. You can read more formal thoughts on his time, of course, but this is a more informal chat. Chris Hyde is hear to quiz Adam on just what exactly this is, and you can listen to that chat while you watch 15 minutes of Rainbow Six Extraction gameplay captured from Adam’s session.

Make sure you check out the video above and give it a thumbs up. Also, subscribe if you haven’t already! After you’ve done that, check out our 2022 release date calendar, so you can plan what you’re buying, and when!

In his full preview, Adam said: “I’ll be there on release day to see if my initial impressions are right or not. It’s been a while since I’ve felt so conflicted about a game like this. It really is a good, almost hardcore-experience with lots of clever ideas. But it needs some tweaking for people to get the most out of it. Because unless we weren’t given all the information we needed before grabbing the mouse and keyboard and taking on the parasitic Archaean alien threat, this one asks a lot and gives very little in kind. ”

The post Rainbow Six Extraction: four hours of play left me confused but hopeful appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Rainbow Six Extraction is a very strange game. I want to stress early on, very clearly, that the way it plays, mechanically, as a shooter, is terrific. It takes some of the operators from Rainbow Six Siege and drops them into a world where Aliens are trying to come for us on our own soil and take over. As a crack team of three of these operators working for REACT, it’s the player’s job to fight back, one objective at a time. There are three maps per attempt, an objective per map, and the idea is to be successful at all of them before extracting to safety. And it’s almost as brilliant as you’d expect.

There’s no shortage of horde or Left 4 Dead-type games these days. While Back 4 Blood and The Anacrusis take a stab at the genre with fast paced action with a narrative behind the curtain, Rainbow Six Extraction gives you tools, gadgets, weapons, and operators to fight back that all feel distinctly different from one another. No two operators feel the same, meaning no two runs are identical either, which is both a blessing and a curse (and we’ll come to that shortly).

Rainbow Six Extraction: the drone is a must

You can mix and match, of course. I’d recommend someone on every team of three takes the drone option so you can scope out each map. Each mission requires a different methodology: some stealth, some go loud. There are enemy types that will swarm you, and others that create these swarms. Sometimes you have to tag these nests with tracking devices, sometimes you have to destroy them, or find an elite and capture it alive. There are rescue missions, objectives that are akin to “hold the zone”, and others that require you to carry an explosive to a target. They are varied and mostly fun, but all offer a challenge no matter the difficulty you’re playing on.

Rainbow Six Extraction: the drone is a must

And that might be the first major problem that Ubisoft needs to solve with Extraction; the challenge. Even on the lowest difficulty, it feels brutal at times. Hordes of enemies swarm you, as is the nature of the game, but most of them do severe damage, and the explosive runners can down you in one. In and of itself, this isn’t that big of a deal breaker. It’s how Rainbow Six Extraction deals with failure that is the issue.

Down and out

Should you fall in battle, you can be rescued by a fellow REACT team-mate. But if you are down fully, and aren’t rescued before the transition to another area, that operator is gone. I want to be clear here: operators are now MIA, unable to be selected on your next session until they are rescued. Every time I played, the next run through would include this as an objective, so you’re technically never without them for that long, so long as you successfully recover their cocooned body. They will still be out of commission, however, while they heal up over time. It wasn’t clear how long this would take, but in three hours, I never saw one fully recover.

Down and out: Rainbow Six Extraction

This should be a really cool concept. But it’s currently flawed. Even if you successfully complete all the objectives and extract at the end of a mission, all three REACT members alive, if your health is low, they can be out of commission, or if they are selectable they might have a quarter of their max health at the start of a run. So you are rewarded in terms of XP by doing well, but punished for not finishing on full health. This means you can’t keep playing as an operator you are gelling well with.

Try every flavour

I get it, this is clearly designed as a prod from the developer to get you using every operator. Rainbow Six Extraction doesn’t want you to be “that person” who sticks to “that operator”, it seems. But this isn’t the way to do it. I finally found one I enjoyed over all the rest, and my team of three finished a mission completely, and I never got to use her again due to her health never recovering sufficiently.

Try every flavour

Once again, the maps, combat, and moment to moment action is great fun. It feels excellent being these Siege operators in a new setting, with new ideas. There are tools for every job, and I feel I barely scratched the surface of what was on offer. There is a superb amount of enemy types, all requiring their own tactic to take down. But the progression ideas combined with the high difficulty are a huge concern right now. Maybe it’s the limited time aspect, as there’s such a large choice of tools for the job that by the end of a 3-4 hour session, I was just starting to find loadouts I liked. But this might be quite off putting to people due to the lack of reward for the effort put in.

Rainbow Six Extraction: hands on preview

By the end of my time with Extraction I felt quite frustrated. Nobody wants to see an XP bar going backwards. Nobody wants their favourite character removed from the field of play. As an experiment we forced the title’s hand by deliberately killing everyone off. It auto-recovers operators when you get down to three, so you can at least keep playing. This is, of course, a good thing. But it suggests that some of the ideas behind this all aren’t quite fully fleshed out.

That said, I’ll be there on release day to see if my initial impressions are right or not. We’ll see…

The post Far Cry 6 Vaas: Insanity | All Silver Dragon Blade Locations appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Far Cry 6 has received it’s first piece of DLC in the form of Vaas: Insanity. Returning to a warped version of Rook Island as the popular psychopath is a lot of fun. The main goal is to find three pieces of the Silver Dragon Blade. With a lot of exploring to do, and countless enemies to kill, we thought we’d help out by providing the locations of each part. However you choose to approach Vaas: Insanity, make sure you go in prepared. Once you’re tooled up, follow our Far Cry 6 Vaas: Insanity All Silver Dragon Blade Locations guide to help you overcome Citra.

The Volcano

All pieces of the Silver Dragon Blade can be done in any order. However, we’ll focus on this one first. Head up the volcano to the far left of the map. Once inside, you’ll see a huge ship hanging inside. Get on the ship and take out the waves of soldiers. Jason Brody will come at you continuously, but as long as you have decent weaponry, he won’t be a problem. The grenade launcher is great for blowing him into the air. This can help him take fall damage as well. Once you’ve survived, the blade part will be free for the taking. The entrance to the volcano looks like this.

Vaas: Insanity | All Silver Dragon Blade Locations: Citra’s Temple

If you follow the red path, it’ll lead you to a ravine you can climb (pictured below). Once you’ve made your way up, Citra is waiting. After doing enough damage, she’ll disappear and move on to another area. Repeat the process until you reach the final area. You’ll know it’s the last part because Citra turns into a huge bear, and there’re volcanic crocodiles roaming the floor. Kill her for a third time, and the next piece is yours.

The Prison Camp

The Prison Camp is perhaps the easiest of the three Memories. You’ll reach a prison camp that can be seen in the image below. Find Jason Brody and kill him a few times, as well as the various enemies located inside the camp. There’re ziplines you can use to traverse the camp. You also have to free versions of Vaas from cages scattered around. Completing these steps will give you the final piece of the Silver Dragon Blade. Once you’ve collected all three pieces, you need to return to the starting area and fight off five waves of enemies to finish the game. You can keep fighting more waves, but five will open up a portal to finish your run.

Far Cry 6 | How to play co-op https://www.godisageek.com/2021/10/far-cry-6-how-to-play-co-op/ Wed, 06 Oct 2021 21:04:15 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=256231 Co-op carnage

The post Far Cry 6 | How to play co-op appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

Far Cry 6 is a crazy, fun game, that is made infinitely better when playing co-op. That way two of you can be causing absolute mayhem at the same time for double the shenanigans. However it’s not completely clear from the outset how co-op works, or how to even set up a session. Do not worry though, we’ve got your covered here at God is a Geek. Check out our handy guide below to find out everything you need to know about how to play co-op in Far Cry 6

Far Cry 6 | How to unlock Co-op play

You actually can’t play cooperatively in Far Cry 6 right from the start of the game. You’ll need to complete a few of the initial story missions first before this is unlocked. Some of this is related to the story, but some of it is so you are equipped with various gear and understanding of the game’s core mechanics before you venture online.

The missions you will need to complete before Co-op is unlocked are:

 • La Noche De La Muerte
 • The Lucky One
 • Juan of a Kind
 • Du or Die

Completing these missions will take you approximately 90 minutes to run through, so make sure you plan ahead of your intended first co-op session.

How to start Co-op play

Once you have completed the above missions, you’ll be able to access Co-op play. But it’s not immediately obvious how to do this. What you are looking for is the Co-op icon which looks like a couple of people. To find this open up the main menu and look in the top right corner for the icon. Click it to open up the Co-op options.

Alternatively, if you’re starting the game up (and have made the required mission progress already) you can access the icon on the main title screen in the same top-right corner, as demonstrated in the image above.

Co-op options

When you click on the icon you are taken to the Co-op menu, and here you have three options of how to play Co-op in Far Cry 6:

Play with a Friend: Using your friend list, you can party up with a mate and create some carnage together

Search for a Partner: If your friends are not online you can search for a random person to partner up with instead.

Be a Partner: This final option makes you available to be searched by people using the option above.

No co-op mission carryover

It is worth noting that Co-op progress doesn’t carry over in Far Cry 6. So if you party up with a friend and complete some missions in their world, that progress doesn’t transfer. This means you’ll need to complete those same missions again on your playthrough, either solo or in co-op again.

The one plus point though is that the loot and equipment you earn whilst in co-op even in another player’s world, does stay with you, which is a nice touch.

Far Cry 6 is out now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PC, and Google Stadia.

Big news from one of the huge publishers, as Ubisoft Appoints Igor Manceau as Chief Creative Officer. After over 20 years with the company and a history with many of their major franchises, they decided he’s perfect for the role that includes a position on their executive committee.

“Today, Ubisoft announced that Igor Manceau, a Creative Director with more than 20-years’ experience at the company, is being appointed as its Chief Creative Officer. Manceau will report to Ubisoft CEO and Co-Founder Yves Guillemot and will serve as a member of Ubisoft’s Executive Committee.

As the company’s Chief Creative Officer (CCO), Manceau will be responsible for defining and nurturing Ubisoft’s overall creative vision and guiding the creative direction of its games so that they are accessible, irresistible, and enriching for all players. Manceau will work closely with stakeholders in all the company’s studios to include diverse perspectives and sensibilities that will feed the creative spirit of the group. In addition to Ubisoft’s creative teams, Manceau will work closely with Virginie Haas, Chief Studios Operating Officer, Sandrine Caloiaro, Chief Portfolio Officer, and their respective groups to organically grow Ubisoft’s owned franchises and identify opportunities to create new titles that can succeed in new or emerging game genres.

Manceau joined Ubisoft in 1998 as part of the business marketing team. In 2003, he became Director of Editorial Marketing in the Montreal studio, where he participated in the positioning and creative marketing for several of Ubisoft’s largest franchises, including Far Cry, Rainbow Six, and Splinter Cell. In 2006, he launched and led a team charged with concepting casual games, then served as an creative consultant for many titles including multiple opuses of Assassin’s Creed. Manceau joined Ubisoft Annecy in 2014 to take on the creative direction of Steep, an award-winning extreme sports game that developed a dedicated community of social players. Since 2017, as Creative Director of Riders Republic, Manceau and the Annecy team have leveraged technological developments and new player trends to create a highly innovative, massive multiplayer, open-world playground that offers a huge variety of competitive, co-op, and solo action and challenges.

“It is a real honor for me to lead and support the passionate and incredibly talented group of people responsible for the creative direction of Ubisoft’s games,” said Manceau. “We have some of the best creative minds in the industry at Ubisoft, and I’m looking forward to partnering with them to increase our games’ focus on innovation, quality and differentiation, so that we’re continuing to deliver truly memorable, entertaining and enriching experiences for our players.””

Far Cry 6 changes the series in a meaningful way | 6 hours of hands-on https://www.godisageek.com/2021/08/far-cry-6-changes-the-series-in-a-meaningful-way-6-hours-of-hands-on/ Tue, 31 Aug 2021 16:00:25 +0000 https://www.godisageek.com/?p=254600 Loot!

The post Far Cry 6 changes the series in a meaningful way | 6 hours of hands-on appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

For the first time in a long time, Far Cry 6 changes the series up. Don’t get me wrong, we’re not talking wholesale changes. It’s still a first-person shooter; it’s still got a similar story, and I worry that I’m going to alarm people, but Far Cry 6 now has loot. Oh yes, loot.

I’m not allowed to talk about the opening moments of the game, really, to avoid spoilers. But i do think it’s important to tell you that Far Cry 6 has one of the most gripping opening scenes that I’ve played in a while. Yes, it still has some moments of stupidity where it almost trips over itself, but only the one during the opening scene, and before you know it, you’re in charge of a gun, on a beach, and it’s very clear who the bad guy is and just why you want to take him down.

Far Cry 6 preview: similar starts

Similar to Far cry 5, you start off on a segmented island from the mainland and are given a chance to learn the ropes. You’re instantly given a grappling hook and a gun as Dani Rojas, a male or female (you choose) lead who is a military dropout who wants to escape this world, but is slowly drawn into the revolutionary cause.

Far Cry 6 preview: similar starts

From the off you’re collecting scraps of metal and all manner of paraphernalia that will aid you in your journey, mostly so you can customise your guns to within an inch of their lives. Each weapon — not each type, each physical weapon — can be customised to fire a certain amount of bullets, and all of this means particular guns work better for different situations. We’re talking armor piercing rounds, suppressors, that kind of thing.

Gear and loot

Far Cry 6 isn’t afraid to throw a lot at you right away, and I had to learn quickly that certain gear was going to be better for certain enemies. If I wanted to wield a flame thrower (and why wouldn’t I?) then I was going to need to find and equip flame retardant gear hats and gloves.

Gear and loot

As you progress through the game and do plenty of missions, you will raise your Guerilla rank and you can make better weapons and gear, with better customisation options available. You can find equipment in hidden caches or buy it from the black market, and there’s a lot of it. Seriously, there’s a lot of it, and everything has a perk. Ubisoft is keen to stress that what you carry in your Arsenal (loadout) will affect gameplay. And from the 6 hours I played, I feel that’s an honest and accurate statement to make.

New weapons, new action

The action in Far Cry 6 is superb, and stealth is better than most other Ubisoft games. Yes, enemies will still not notice as you slowly sidle up to them, side-on. But it feels fresh and I managed to creep around camps and take each enemy, camera, and security station out silently. In fact, for a guy who prefers to go loud, I think so far, I prefer the silent and deadly version of Far Cry 6. Maybe it was my particular loadout, but later on I did get to try out some of the madness that the series allows with a lot of firepower.

New weapons, new action

One of the new ideas is the “Resolver” weapons option. There’s the aforementioned flamethrower to nail guns, shock rifles, and more. These all have moddable components that do things like changing projectile velocity, reload time, or even what the projectiles themselves do: impale, etc. Resolver weapons are created from components you find in the world, and they’re badass.

Far Cry 6: you have skills now

Another new aspect is the “Supremo”. A cobbled together backpack that can contain gadget mods and has a unique “ultimate” ability. The one you start with fires homing rockets from your Supremo. But I got to play around with others that allow you to self-revive, or emit an EMP pulse to knock over enemies and disable security systems. And that’s just scratching the surface of the potential loadout opportunities here.

Far Cry 6: you have skills now

Towards the end of my session with Far Cry 6 I decided to ignore the story and go bonkers. I took out an anti-aircraft zone and grabbed a plane which I flew into the ground for fun. Then I took a helicopter over a boat and then wing-suited down, killing the bad guys. Due to this I accidentally took part in a mission I didn’t intend to, then escaped on multiple boats. I then decided to take the boats and just go shooting random bad guys. Of course I threw sticky grenades at cars. And I rode a horse around while shooting a pistol as if I was John Marston from Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s a testament to the experience that I barely even remembered to tell you about horses being in the game.

Six hours in Far Cry 6

Six hours in a Ubisoft game is barely scratching the surface, we all know this. But what I can say is that I had very little interest in Far Cry 6 before playing it. I have enjoyed every one of the games in the series to varying degrees. But I have felt the series needed a rest, and was perhaps only behind Assassin’s Creed in that respect. But like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, it seems Far Cry 6 changes enough to make it interesting and feel fresh again.

I’ve gone from ambivalence to desperation to play more. I absolutely cannot wait to get stuck back into Far Cry 6 come October 7. Colour me both surprised, and hugely impressed. This time it’s even a fully co-op experience where you (finally) get to keep your own progression. With that in mind, I’ll see you on the Caribbean island of Yara to take down Anton Castillo, pals.

Far Cry 6 is due out for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on October 7, 2021.

The post Riders Republic receives release date during Ubisoft Forward appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

]]>

During tonight’s Ubisoft Forward, extreme sports multiplayer game Riders Republic received a release date. The game will release September 2, 2021 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. Not only that, a brand new trailer dropped as well. The game is filled with different vehicles and ways to race. Mountain bikes (both standard on rocket fuelled), jetpacks, skis, snowboards, and more make racing and skill battles heaps of fun.

Earlier this week, we were fortunate enough to see some of the frantic action players can expect. What makes Riders Republic so exciting is how much is actually packed into it. There’re multiple modes where players can take on opponents using the full range of traversal. Tricks Battle sees two teams of six face off in an arena with multiple rails and half pipes. By performing tricks and combos, a team’s overall score builds up. There are also areas that can be won by a team, meaning the opposition have to perform tricks there to take back control. Get the best score and you’ll defeat the other team.

Riders Republic: Extreme racing

Mass Races take players through different terrain such as canyons, snowy mountains, and dirt tracks where various vehicles are used. For example, you might start on skis or a snowboard, but then you’ll fly through the air with your winged jetpack. From there, you’ll land and start controlling a mountain bike. These races look like tons of fun. They make use of every sport and skill, changing on the fly and calling on everything you’ve learnt. Pass through checkpoints and reach the finishing line to win. Multiplayer PvP sees teams travel across different terrain to outscore other players, making use of every type of traversal possible. There’s also a limit on the amount of tricks that can be performed.

There is a mode called Career Events, where real life events like Red Bull Hardline and Rampage can be competed in. Burton Grove is a downhill snowboarding extravaganza; Red Bull Playstreets sees players using tricks within a difficult track to make snowboarding even harder; Air, where players fly threw the air whilst hitting checkpoints to win; and Air Funkies, which sees players glide through the air and get as close to the ground to gain more points

The option to explore the beautiful open world means players will visit famous landmarks on their travels. It’s not just about hardcore competition. Angel’s Landing in Utah, Tunnel Log in California, and Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park are just some of them. The gameplay trailer reveals even more exciting details about Riders Republic, which you can watch below:

The post Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope revealed on Nintendo’s official website appeared first on GodisaGeek.com.

The sequel to 2017’s Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle has seemingly been confirmed just hours before Ubisoft Forward later today. Details of the rumoured sequel Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope with a release date of 2022 were confirmed, apparently in error, by Nintendo’s own website. Although no doubt a strategy game likes its predecessors there are as yet no official details. The accidental listing included the following blurb and screenshots:

“Team up with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Luigi, and their friends on a galactic journey to defeat a malevolent entity and save your Spark companions. Explore planets throughout the galaxy as you uncover mysterious secrets and compelling quests!

“Build your dream team with three heroes from an eclectic roster of nine.

“Take down all new bosses, along with some familiar enemies throughout the galaxy. Rescue the adorable Sparks throughout the galaxy, who provide distinct powers that will help you in battle.

“Unleash your heroes’ skills but be strategic as you dash your enemies, team jump on your allies, and hide behind covers.”

This isn’t the first time that this has happened for Nintendo with Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle itself experiencing an early reveal at a previous E3 event!

Hopes are that after the official Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope announcement there will be footage shown at Nintendo Direct later this week.

Ubisoft is continuing to update their most recent Tom Clancy game, with a new Ghost Recon Breakpoint update. This update will have a heavy focus on upgrading your AI allies, and is coming next week.

“Today, Ubisoft announced that an all-new AI Teammate Experience update will be coming to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Breakpoint as part of Title Update 4.0.0, launching free for all players on 25th May.

The AI Teammate Experience update will consist of an all-new progression loop, allowing players to improve their AI teammates, earn unique rewards and unlock challenges to complete. Players will now be able to level up their AI teammates, which will unlock tactical upgrades and better prepare them for combat.

Teammates will now have a common Team Level and a common XP bar called Team XP which can be leveled up just by playing the game with AI teammates activated or by completing the Teammate Challenges. To track teammate progression, players can find a new progression bar at the top of the screen, displaying XP gained, Nomad’s level gauge and teammates’ level gauge. Additionally, once teammates have leveled up, an animation will appear on screen, informing players of newly unlocked upgrades. Players will also have 14 new challenges to tackle, which will grant both Team XP and cosmetic rewards.

To upgrade and customise teammates, players will be able to navigate a dedicated menu, showing teammate level XP, upgrades and challenges. Players will be able to unlock 14 upgrades for their AI Teammates:

– Three Active Abilities unique to each teammate including Piercing Shot, Scan and Combat Drone

– Two Active Abilities shared across teammates including Extra Revival and Fragmentation Grenades

– Nine Passive Abilities for increased damage or resilience”

Although Breakpoint didn’t really set the world on fire at launch, I’ve heard the continued updates have really improved things since then. With the new AI upgrades too, it might be a good time to jump in and get to shootin.

By finding all of the Trade Posts, gathering Irish Resources will happen much quicker. They provide a direct route to Azar in Dublin. You should tread carefully when approaching a new Trade Post. They will be heavily guarded, so make sure your health is high and you’re ready for a fight. To help you out, we’ve provided a guide that will tell you exactly how to approach Trade Posts, and how to unlock them.

After that, new items will start to unlock a lot quicker. There’re multiple ways to increase the growth of Irish Resources. If you build Workman’s Cottages, more resources will be produced. We’ve also put together a guide that will hopefully help you to gather the particular resources needed to increase the amount needed for the swanky new Armor Set you have you’re eye on. Monasteries have always been a great source of wealth in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Wrath of the Druids is no different. Unlike in the base game, they now provide Trade Post Supplies to bolster the Trade Posts unlocked throughout the expansion. We’ve put together every location in the game below in our Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids Monastery Locations guide.

Lambay Abbey – Dublin

Monastery Locations: Abbey – Meath

Clonfert Abbey – Connacht

Monastery Locations: Movilla Abbey – Ulster

Lismore Abbey – Ulster

The best way to approach every monastery is by raiding with your clan. Whether by boat or by land, march into battle with fellow vikings to be able to comfortably pillage each building. Most of the Trade Post Supplies are close together. Firstly, blow your horn by pressing down on the D-pad. Once done, the clan will appear and fight alongside you. Not only do these monasteries offer plenty of Trade Post Supplies, various other wealth such as new armour can be found. Like the base game, some areas have barricaded doors that will need to be broken by finding a way for your arrow to destroy the bar. Thankfully, almost all of the Trade Post Supplies are inside huts where the door is open. Hopefully you found our Valhalla Monastery locations guide helpful!
